Halfway points

Last night was the 40th running of the MTV Video Music Awards, from which I have only seen gifs of Chappell Roan.

This places the first VMAs at 1984. That year, Madonna performed "Like a Virgin" (scandalous)

If we look 40 years before that, 1944, the LP record was still four years from being commercially available and the #1 song was "Swinging on a Star" by Bing Crosby.

This is such Gen X bullshit and I love it.

this is the funniest question you cldve asked bc basils backstory is very fucking nebulous. it used to be !!! really stupidly tragic but in a kid way where i was like yeah he lives in the woods by himself yuuup thats right. this is a sustainable way for a child to live

the newer version has never been super nailed down but the tragedy is sustained in one way or another. his parents are not really in the picture and he moved to halfway point to live with his grandmama. she is an old woman who works at the town's library. they love each other very much! basil is a good caretaker for things his grandma's not physically able to do anymore while she is very good at accommodating him and encouraging his weird eccentricities. she grew up in halfway pt after all, she's bound to be a strange woman herself :3c
