Fic: On the Run to Nowhere (Steve/Tony, 616 CW)

Shards of glass crunched under the weight of Steve’s boots as he entered the remains of Avengers Mansion. The structure looked worse, somehow, than the last time he had been here — worse even than how it looked on that fatal night it was destroyed. It seemed evident, now, that it had been the exact moment their team fell apart. 

When he reached the grand staircase leading up to the private quarters, Steve’s body froze in place, trapped by memories like he had been trapped in the block of ice that brought him to this century. What would he find on the second floor? Ruin and debris, in all likelihood; wreckage was all that remained of his old room and life with the Avengers. It’s not your home anymore , a cruel voice reminded him, a familiar pang of loss situating itself in his chest. Steve clenched his jaw and fists and kept walking. This was not the time for sentimental, childish thoughts.

Coming here had been stupid and careless — two things he couldn’t afford to be, especially at this critical juncture. It was only the latest in a string of poor decisions he’d made in recent weeks, but perhaps the most reckless. He had not informed any of his allies about this meeting — not even Sam — and he did not allow himself to consider how he would handle the situation should it go awry. Steve had already been impetuous enough to lead his team into a trap once, and Bill Foster was dead as a result.

Still, part of him desperately clung to hope that it wasn’t too late to make things right. Tony was a friend. They had been able to resolve differences in the past, their friendship stronger for having done so. There had to be a way for Steve to remind him of that, to make him see reason. For all his bravado, Tony Stark was a good man — always had been. Steve knew that better than most.

They’d agreed to meet in the area that once served as the public conference room. Despite being half an hour early, Steve was not the first one there. Even more surprising was the fact Tony Stark sat behind the oak desk, looking immaculate in a designer suit rather than his armour. Of course, with the help of Extremis, Iron Man could appear at Tony’s whim. Still, it was not what Steve had been expecting; for a moment, ill-prepared and at a tactical disadvantage, he allowed the surprise to register on his face. When their eyes met, Steve nearly stumbled under the wave of emotion he was not willing to name. It was harder to smother this particular weakness when faced with familiar blue eyes rather than shiny metal plates. 

“Hello, Steve,” said Tony in the voice he reserved for business meetings and press conferences. The expression on his face was impassive and carefully controlled; a skill he had had a lifetime of mastering. Steve hated and envied it in equal measure. In comparison, Steve’s anger and betrayal rattled inside him like a pressurized canister ready to ignite. “I’m glad you could make it. I was afraid you might think this is a trap.”

“No. You wouldn’t. Not here,” Steve insisted, failing to mention that very thought had occurred to him. He curled his fingers around his shield, finding comfort in the bite of the cold vibranium against his skin. “And if I’m wrong — I’ll deal with it.” 

Tony’s lips twitched, dangerously close to a show of displeasure, but he quickly regained control and squared his jaw. Steve felt childish, smug satisfaction at having elicited some sort of emotion out of him. “You’re not,” Tony said slowly, voice measured. “I haven’t told anyone about this meeting. I just… I thought we should talk.”

The sincerity in his voice surprised Steve a second time, something he hoped his expression was able to mask. Tony stood up from his seat, walking over to the eastern wall of the room. An old photograph of the Avengers hung crooked and precarious on the plaster, the glass shattered. Tony reached to fix it with trembling hands, tracing the cracked wood of the frame with his fingers. “All these years… everything we’ve been through together… we owe it to each other to try and work it out, one last time…”

“All right,” Steve acquiesced, lowering his shield as Tony turned to face him. It was the reason he’d agreed to meet, after all. “Let’s talk.”

“Listen, about Bill…” Tony said. Steve’s shoulders tensed. “You have to know I never—”

“Not about that,” Steve interrupted, heart thundering in his chest. “Not a good idea. Start with something else.”

Tony stood frozen, seemingly at a loss. No longer the futurist always ten steps ahead, no solutions to offer. He looked around the room as if in search of answers. “That wall. That’s the one I came through, remember?”

“How could I forget?” was Steve’s immediate response, the memory surging to the forefront with hardly any effort. “The first time we fought. You came crashing through the wall like a bull, convinced I was someone named Chameleon, an imposter. I had no idea what you were talking about.”

“Those were the days. When we could almost kill each and smooth it out with a few simple words, remember?” Tony reminisced, mouth turned up with the hint of a smile. “By the end of it you would always say something wonderfully old-fashioned, I wish I could recall—”

“'I’m glad it all came out in the wash, partner,’” Steve recited, a mirroring smile tugging on his lips as he met Tony’s eyes. For a moment, it was as if nothing had changed between them. “I remember.” 

They fell silent, transfixed by the bittersweet memory, longing for what once was. Seconds ticked by and the silence stretched, poisoning the room with unbearable grief. The smile slipped from Tony’s lips, mouth flattened to a grim line. He averted his gaze and looked to the ground as if it could offer a reprieve. Frozen with shame, Steve did the same, berating himself for getting carried away by fanciful nostalgia.

“Anyway,” said Steve, unable to bear the tension, “we’re here to talk about what’s going on now.”

Tony sighed. “Can we start with why you’re so damn adamant about this? Didn’t we stand together in this very spot, not so long ago, trying to shut down the Young Avengers because they were inexperienced and untrained? And when we couldn’t stop them, didn’t we agree to train them? The Registration Act makes sure would-be heroes are fully trained in the use of their powers. For the public’s safety, and their own.”

“And what happens when the identities of these heroes are made public? You know how many of our friends have lost loved ones after their identity was compromised.”

“No one’s identity becomes public knowledge unless they choose—” 

“Come on, Tony,” Steve demanded, unable to keep his exasperation buried. “We have dozens of enemies who could hack a government database without breaking a sweat. But even if they couldn’t—governments change, administrations come and go. The Registration Act takes away any freedom we have, any autonomy. You don't know who could get elected, how public sentiment might change.” 

“Believe me when I tell you, Steve,” said Tony, irritation flashing in his eyes, “your way is a lot more likely to turn the public against us and jeopardize everything we’ve fought to represent.”

Steve took a deep breath, willing down the anger that simmered under his skin. “It was Stamford that changed things for you, wasn’t it?” he tried. “Before that you went to Washington and lobbied against the Act.”

“It was coming anyway,” Tony confirmed with a defeated sigh. “I always thought it was inevitable, though I did try to delay it. But after Stamford, there was no stopping it.”

“But you’re not just bowing to the tide of history, Tony,” Steve observed, wondering if he sounded as desperate as he felt. “You truly believe in this, I can tell. And I don't understand why.”

“I…” Tony tried, the words unable to escape. The expression on his face was visibly pained, and Steve ached to reach for him. “It could have been me, Steve. Instead of the Warriors, it could easily have been me.”

Steve nearly recoiled at the admission. “Ridiculous,” he blurted on instinct. “You’re a brilliant tactician. You’d never have engaged the enemy so close to a school.”

“I would have if I’d been drunk,” Tony said simply.

Steve did flinch at that, his stomach turning.

“I never told you this. Never told anyone,” Tony continued, voice trembling with shame. “When Obediah Stane was stealing my company out from under me, I fell off the wagon… I started drinking… hard.” He sighed and looked down at the floor, struggling with whatever it was he wanted to say next. “On a particularly bad day, Machine Man showed up at my office. I wanted him out, so I put on the suit to throw him out. I swung a lamppost at him and would have hit two of my employees if he hadn’t pushed them away.This close. This close and I would have been a murderer.”

“My god, Tony…” Steve said helplessly, the horror of the confession washing over him. He often wondered how the team had been so blind to Tony’s addiction when he was in the depths of it, how they had been oblivious while he struggled for so long. Unsure of how to express that, Steve took a deep breath, the exhale morphing into a resigned sigh. “I honestly don’t see how registration would have made a difference. If we didn’t know you were drinking again — your friends — if we couldn’t stop you…” he closed his eyes, overwhelmed with the memory of the night he pulled Tony out of the fire. “Once I found out, I tried…”

“I remember,” Tony said, a mix of emotions in his voice that Steve had no hope of deciphering. “And I recognize registration won’t stop every tragedy, but people in our position need accountability .” 

This, at least, was a point they could agree on, even if their ideas on what that looked like differed. “Of course we do,” Steve acknowledged. “But this isn’t the way. Look, Tony, I know it’s… comforting to think there’s someone watching over you, seeing you don’t make mistakes. But consider the downside here—”

“See, that’s the problem here,” Tony interrupted, frustration clear in his voice. “It’s why you can’t see things from my perspective. Because it’s predicated on the premise that superheroes make mistakes. And you’re Captain America. You don’t make mistakes.”

“I…” Steve stammered, taken aback by the accusation. After everything they’d been through together, all the times they’d bled on each other, had it not been evident to Tony that Steve was made of flesh and bone, the same as anybody else? After years of friendship, years, was Tony still incapable of seeing him as anything other than a symbol, as cold and unfeeling as a statue? Steve knew he’d been disappearing into the uniform the last couple of years, but next to Tony he always felt like more than just a living legend — he felt like a man.

“I’ve made plenty of mistakes,” he finally managed to say, the words heavy on his tongue. The next moment, his mind was transported back to the night he and Bucky had been captured by Zemo and his men, ears ringing with the sound of his friend’s tortured screams. The look of horror on Bucky’s face was the last thing Steve witnessed before he plunged into the English Channel, engulfed by the nothingness that would eventually deliver him to a new century.

Steve’s muscles tensed and twitched and he only barely resisted the urge to shiver. The cold spread through his body in an instant, as if his veins were carrying ice into his heart. He bit on the inside of his cheek until the coppery taste of blood filled his mouth.

“If everyone were like you, we wouldn’t need registration,” Tony was saying. Steve’s mind felt so foggy that he could hardly concentrate on the words. He watched Tony’s mouth form sentences and heard the sounds, but there was no way to process any of it. What he noticed instead was the way Tony’s shoulders slumped. “But they’re not . Everyone feels inadequate next to you. God knows I always have.”

“You —?” Steve asked, certain he must have misunderstood. The static in his head intensified, his eardrums aching with pressure. “Tony, you’re brilliant. You’re—” 

You’re you , he wanted to say. Instead, he pursed his lips to trap the truths that threatened to escape. After all these years, there wasn’t much of a chance that Tony hadn’t figured it out, but he had been kind and merciful enough to spare Steve the humiliation of confronting it.

Tony was speaking again, and Steve fought to regain focus. “—they idolize you, Steve. We all do.”

Steve gritted his teeth. There it was again, Tony speaking to him as if he had no first-hand knowledge of Steve’s humanity. “The resistance to Registration isn’t about me, Tony,” he said, trying to keep his voice measured. “It’s about our freedom.”

“You don’t like the Registration Act? Do you have any idea what the alternatives are?” Tony raised his voice, patience running thin. “I do. I saw the plans when I was Secretary of State. Have you heard of Project Wideawake? Imagine sentinels hunting us down. Inhibitor circuits in our brains, taking away our powers. Genetic testing of the entire population to keep superhumans under government control before they’re even born.”

“It would never happen,” Steve said with conviction. “We would fight it. We’d stop it.” Together .

Tony slammed his fists against the conference table, the old wood splintering under the force. “What do you think I'm trying to do?” he yelled, his voice an equal measure of exasperation and desperation. “I've been trying to keep this from getting as bad as I know it can be! And from day one, you’ve been fighting me. And now it’s come to this.”

It was Steve’s turn to raise his voice, rage burning in the pit of his stomach as he clenched his fists. “You built a super-prison in the Negative Zone to imprison our friends! Is that what you call fighting this?” 

Tony’s eyes widened with surprise; clearly, he had not been aware that Steve knew about this particular development.

“What about them, Tony? The heroes who have risked their lives for years to help others, the friends you’ve fought side by side with? Men and women you know to be brave and righteous. Do you have no qualms about rounding them up and giving them up to SHIELD custody? You think that’s just ?”

Tony broke eye contact and looked down at his shoes. For a moment, Steve was certain his expression was one of contrition. “They broke the law,” he responded quietly. “That’s not on me — I can’t — I can’t bear responsibility for that.” His voice was small and desperate, like he was trying to convince himself of the words. “They’ve made their choices. They must answer for them and face the consequences.”

Anger continued to spread through Steve's body like a toxin, galvanizing him into action. It felt like he was on fire; once the flames were lit, there was no smothering it.

“Then arrest me,” he demanded hotly, closing the distance between them in two short strides. The proximity forced Tony’s back against the wall, boxed in by Steve's body. He brought his wrists together, pressing them against Tony’s chest in an offering. His shield was still strapped to his forearm, the metal cold between them.“If I’m nothing but a common criminal to you, Tony, then arrest me !” 

A long, insufferable silence followed, suffocating the room. Tony’s eyes were wide and alarmed as they studied Steve’s face. They were close enough to feel each other’s breaths, faces nearly touching. Slowly, Tony brought his hands to Steve’s forearms, fingers reaching to circle his wrists. Even through the thick leather of his gloves, the touch felt scalding. His muscles tensing, Steve held his breath in anticipation of Tony’s next move. The look in Tony’s eyes made it clear he was just as uncertain about what that might be. He pressed closer into Steve’s chest, quickly searching his face before attaching their mouths together. It was less a kiss and more of a dry press of lips, a clunking of teeth. Taken by surprise, Steve kept his eyes open, staring until Tony pulled away. 

“Is this your idea of a joke?” he asked, barely willing his voice not to crack. Tony was many things, but a cruel man was not one of them; despite everything that had happened between them, Steve refused to believe he would toy with him like this.

Tony deflated against the wall, pressing his back further into it as if hoping it would make him disappear. His eyes remained closed as he slid down the length of the wall to sit on the floor. “I don’t have any jokes left in me, Steve.”

It was then that Steve really looked at Tony, noticing the drawn lines on his face, the deep shadows under his eyes. A fit of nausea hit his stomach at the realization that he had been too absorbed in his own pain to notice the evidence of Tony’s exhaustion. Steve crouched down so they were on the same level. His hand shook as he reached for Tony’s face, tracing the sharp curve of his jaw. His face was thinner than it had been only a month ago. Steve wondered if he had been drinking — if his sobriety was yet another casualty of this war, sacrificed in the same manner they’d sacrificed everything else. The question was heavy on his lips, but Steve knew he’d lost any right to ask it.

“Steve,” Tony called, his voice hoarse with desperation. The sound of it made Steve want to collapse, suddenly so tired. He was taller and bulkier, but he still felt like the same 98-pound asthmatic kid who came from nothing — ill-equipped to fight this battle, much less lead it.

It was then that he realized that even with its armour, his uniform won’t protect him — not from this. His fingers went limp, releasing their tight grip on his shield until it met the floor with a deafening clang. Slowly, he pulled off his cowl and chucked it aside, cold air creeping up his neck. He allowed his head to drop against Tony’s shoulder, nose brushing the chord of muscle in his neck.

“I don’t want to have to do this,” he confessed, speaking the words against Tony’s clavicle. This battle was not one he wanted to fight, but Steve had never been able to ignore the call of duty. The uniform on his back had never felt so cumbersome. 

He expected Tony to respond with a simple ‘then don’t.’ Evidently, he knew him too well for that. Instead, Tony surprised him a second time when he reached to card his fingers through Steve’s hair, gentle and comforting. “Me neither,” he admitted. His other hand came to rest on Steve’s back, firm and grounding.

Nothing had changed between them. The circumstances remained the same. Each of their convictions remained resolute. Nothing had been accomplished in this meeting. If anything, it was more evident than ever that they were at an impasse, that each of them was a staunch advocate for the position he had taken. In truth, they hadn’t arranged this meeting to try and understand the opposing side, but instead to convince the other. A losing game neither of them was prepared to call.

The wise thing to do would be to leave. Give himself time to process and refocus on the mission. Outside the walls of this dilapidated structure that they once called home, the real world awaited. Was there really a rush to get back to it? In the course of his miserable, lonely life, had Steve not earned the luxury of claiming just a few minutes of self-indulgence? 

Lifting his head, Steve searched Tony’s eyes for answers. There was a mirroring sorrow etched in his expression. Recognition. Resignation. Ironically, they had reached an understanding. 

With trembling fingers, Steve reached for Tony’s face and tipped his chin. He leaned in and kissed him, pouring all the things he wished he could say into the simple gesture. Tony’s lips were warm and pliant, his tongue hurried and desperate. He fisted Steve’s uniform in his hands to draw him closer still, knowing it was the only chance they would get to share this. There was no time to mourn the what-ifs , only the fleeting opportunity of the moment.

Steve was going to fight for what he believed in. So was Tony. But here, for just a moment longer, they could be suspended in time.

The nature of tumblr is so weird because like. I have people who followed me like eight years ago when I was posting completely different content, I slowly transitioned away from that fandom and then left tumblr entirely, and now I'm back and just blasting everyone's dash with tons of stuff they never EVER asked for or expected and yet some of them still stay

Finished The Double!

The plot fell apart by the end (a feature often seen in cdramas, and in Yu Zheng's dramas more than average) - they crammed 20 eps' worth of plot into 5, introduced new characters and plotlines last minute, some characters exited stage left via a voice over or in two seconds, clearly as a result of "finita la commedia" principle. Oh, and to finish off our supposed big threat Lord Cheng at the start of last ep (and to tie up FL's revenge even earlier - Princess is dead, SYR is dead, her lil fam is fine) and THEN make the big ending/climax the Duke haring off to fight a battle to the death with Dai Country which has been mentioned in passing; his climactic battle is against a dude we've only seen in flashbacks for a minute and who has no personal connection to the OTP whatsoever - that is a CHOICE.

Some of it is Yu Zheng chafing against the 40 ep restriction, some of it just his patented thing (he can finish a drama properly - see Gong, which didn't falter at the end, but more often than not, he doesn't.)

BUT!!!

We got Li coming to the Duke's rescue and willing to die for it:

We got Shen Yurong going out via suicide (I was right that he was going to kill the princess and then himself tho the details were not how I imagined) in a super beautifully filmed scene.

We got a wedding night...

And some even if only in her imagination hair brushing.

Also, while it made no sense to stick this unconnected plot in last minute and the sequence felt like it was from another (very tailored to my tastes) drama altogether (maybe Yu Zheng really really wanted to adapt Star General but didn't get a chance :P), I appreciated Duke Su's model photoshoot of a battle IMMENSELY!

I mean - do I appreciate their last minute attempt to add some genuine danger? Maybe. Do I appreciate blood on those cheekbones as he holds her keepsake between his teeth? MOST DEFINITELY!

The ending of ep 40 proper was the usual abrupt nonsense but I can't complain since they released a five minute extra of their happy married life and kid so that actually ended up being a totally normal ending when put together.

Ultimately, plotwise this drama was always hmmm and by the end descended into a mess in terms of plot BUT character-wise it was actually quite solid until the end - the characters' personalities were consistent (or logically developed), the actions taken by them were consistent with those personalities, mains and secondaries alike. It was visually beautiful (half the budget must have been spent on wind machines), and the OTP had great chemistry and was very fun to watch even if my personal preferences for more angst and different dynamics kept me from being rabid about them.

So basically - a really fun watch beginning to end. Is it going to go on my faves of 2024 list? No. Was it worth watching this for 40 eps? YUPPPP!

How the AU’s work

Each au has four version (book style in which it falls into silver eye’s continuity, game style in which it falls into game continuity, movie style in which it falls into movie continuity, and amalgam style in which it combines all three continuity’s into one)

In xanthophobia Cassidy is the villain (William afton die’s extremely soon in the AU and for once in his life never comes back)

So in my most of my AU’s the souls are able to grow old despit not being alive which explains any shipping you might see. Most of it isn’t my doing though

Elizabeth x Nick is only cannon in golden children

Unless its Evan x Cassidy or Mike x Charlie

TF2 is cannon in the golden children au (i mostly just wanted to make fnaf 2 Jeremy TF2 Jeremy)

The golden children au takes place in the late 80s to early 90s with flash forwards towards the pizzaplex era while the shattered souls au takes place in 1991 and the malefactor malfunction shifts the entire time line to start in 2000 GMTC takes place around 1999 to 2018 xanthophobia takes place in in the 2000s and 2010s

In shattered souls Springtrap is much nicer due to him losing his murdeous tendencies after getting spring locked

This is such a totally delightful ask! (I mean, who doesn’t want an excuse to talk about their OTP! But also this is undoubtedly way more than you wanted to know, because who doesn’t want an excuse to talk about their OTP!) Thank you so much, @andmethefivefooter! 💛

Although it probably goes without saying, this answer is spoiler-laden.

Very short answer:

They were just like that for a really, really, really long time. Then eventually they got married. Then they got divorced. Then they got married again.

Slightly longer answer:

These two rival Josh and Donna in the length of their slow burn. It was quite a roller coaster ride. 🎢

She showed up in the second episode of the series as a nebulously-defined “friend” of his from San Francisco. (They’d met about two and a half years earlier at a forensics conference. I say they slept together at the conference, but that’s headcanon.) They were eye-fucking by the third episode. She tried to get him to go to dinner with her in season 3; he shot her down. But season 4 confirmed what we all knew: that he was just as into her as she was into him.

We found out at the end of season 6 that they’d gotten together at some point (later revealed to be about a year earlier). Season 8 confirmed he’d loved her the whole time (just as she had him). They got engaged. A few episodes later, she left the show, and we finally saw them kiss onscreen for the first (the first!), ever-so-heartbreaking time. Then he left the show in season 9, and they reunited in the Costa Rican rainforest (and kissed for a second—much happier—time!).

She came back to the show starting in season 10, and we found out they’d married offscreen. He never came back, though, so the incredibly unimaginative writers (very poorly) split them up during season 13. They ultimately reunited in the TV movie series finale that followed season 15 and literally went off into the sunset together on his (soon to be their) boat.

They returned together for the first season of CSI: Vegas, and it was confirmed that they’d remarried. They were flirty and loving and kind and supportive and beautiful and perfect and basically a shipper’s dream. And, at the end of the season, they finally kissed for the third (yes, third!) time (on a roller coaster, no less).

(This is my best GIF-set for an overview of the first fifteen years of their onscreen relationship. This one shows every time—yes, all three!—that they kissed.)

So, in sum, that’s something like the equivalent of eight full seasons of TV they spent onscreen together, and there were all of three kisses, two marriages, and one roller coaster ride. But, anyway, they’re amazing, and I love them. 💕💕💕

Annabeth is the first person to give Piper the tour at camp- she comforts Piper when she finds out her memories of Jason weren’t real, and Piper comforts Annabeth about Percy, and they barely know each other!

They’re just sweet and wholesome. They’re never gonna be a cannon couple, but I definitely think they both have a crush on each other. Not head-over-heels-i’m-gonna-die-if-they-don’t-text-me-back crush, just a sorta “Yes I think my best friend is hot. No I’m not gonna do anything about it, I’m allowed to just think my best friend is hot.” Kinda crush.

Tbh, Piperbeth shippers aren’t harming anyone. If anyone is giving them shit, they are under my protection now and so they will face my wrath.

Looking back at ‘Before You Go’

Welcome to part 2 of my Narnia fanvid retrospectives which consist of me talking about a specific fanvid I’ve made and how I’ve interpreted the lyrics. This time, I’ll be talking about my second Caspeter fanvid, ‘Before You Go’, which I uploaded almost one and a half years ago now [original post].

Before I get into it, I just wanted to say that this one is especially for @an-angels-fury because she enjoyed my retrospective post for ‘Run To You’ and said that ‘Before You Go’ is her other favourite of my Caspeter fanvids. 😊

Okay, so this one actually has an interesting origin story and that’s because this fanvid was very close to being my first Caspeter fanvid and also very close to never happening at all.

Let me explain… 😊

When I first became obsessed with Caspeter, it wasn’t long till I decided to try making a fanvid about them. I started by going through my music and eventually narrowed it down to two songs. This one and ‘What Hurts the Most’. I liked both songs very much so it was quite possible that ‘Before You Go’ would have been the first one to be edited although I ultimately decided on ‘What Hurts the Most’.

As for why this fanvid was almost never made at all… well that’s because, at the time, I thought Narnia and Caspeter would go the way of many of my other recent fandoms up till that point. That I would do one fanvid, maybe two if I was lucky, but eventually either my interest in that fandom would wane or something new would come along to take its place as my latest obsession. So, I knew that by picking one song over the other, it was quite possible the second one might never have been made.

Well, we all know how that turned out. 🤣 Several more fanvids (and even fanfics) later, Caspeter and Narnia ended up becoming so important to me for various reasons (I’ve written more about this in another post if that’s of interest) which led to Caspeter becoming my OTP of OTPs. 🥰

Alright, now onto the lyrics. This fanvid is all from Caspian’s POV.

‘I fell by the wayside like everyone else’

I feel like there are a couple of ways this line can be looked at for Caspian. Firstly, it’s Caspian personally feeling like he doesn’t measure up to the High King from Narnia’s golden age. And secondly, that Caspian thinks that Peter sees him as less-than because of his Telmarine heritage. Also, I still really like the visuals I chose for this sequence… of Caspian deferring to the higher status of the Pevensies and hanging back as they enter the How for the first time.

‘I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, but I was just kidding myself’

Yep, Peter drives Caspian absolutely crazy in the beginning. Two young men with their own axes to grind and who are out to prove themselves. Caspian both hates how stubborn Peter is during the strategising at the How, but also can’t help seeing beyond that tough exterior that Peter puts up. Someone who is both more and less than what Caspian grew up hearing about in all those stories. Because Peter might not be all that he imagined in terms of the magnificent battle-hardened warrior (at least not at first glance) but he’s also more human and more beautiful and has more heart than Caspian ever could have imagined.

‘Our every moment, I start to replace, 'cause now that they're gone, all I hear are the words that I needed to say’

Despite the connection they share, their time together is over too soon. And once Peter is gone, Caspian can’t help regretting all the things he never told Peter while he had the chance. While I’ve had multiple versions of what Caspian might regret after Peter leaves Narnia in my head for different projects over the last year and a half, when I was editing this fanvid, I was very much imagining this to be that Caspian never told Peter that he loved him.

‘When you hurt under the surface, like troubled water running cold. Well, time can heal but this won't’

I think this was the line that first made me take notice of this song as a potential Caspeter fanvid. The way it reflects their regret over the loss of so many lives after the failed castle raid. It is something that will probably haunt both of them for the rest of their lives. And even though we had no closeup of Caspian’s face when they escape the courtyard, I was rather pleased that I was able to fake one by using a shot of Caspian from the start of the film which I still think works rather well. 😊

‘So, before you go, was there something I could've said to make your heart beat better? If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather’

Apart from his siblings—who Peter could never hope to hide anything from—I feel like Peter is the kind of person who’d keep his troubles close to his chest. So, for most of the time that Caspian and Peter would have known each other, there’s so much about Peter that would’ve been a mystery to Caspian. And at the top of that list would be the hardships Peter had faced as a result of being forced back into his old life after living in Narnia for so long. Constantly being underestimated by the adults in his life as well as being bullied and belittled by his peers.

‘So, before you go, was there something I could've said to make it all stop hurting? It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless’

There are definitely times when Peter feels worthless. But for the first instance of this line, I chose a moment where Peter feels like he’s worth less than others. And what better representation is there than the, “what about your own future?” deleted scene between Caspian and Peter. Caspian learns for the first time just how much Peter is willing to sacrifice for those he loves and for the greater good. Even his own life. That thought alone scares Caspian more than anything so he prompts Peter to think about his own future in the hopes that it will give him something else to fight for.

‘So, before you go, would we be better off by now, if I'd have let my walls come down? Maybe I guess we'll never know, you know, you know’

The moment when it all comes to an end. Caspian has just been crowned King and is looking forward to getting to know Peter away from the hardships of war. Just seeing where these feeling take them. But then Peter drops the bombshell that they’re leaving and Caspian can’t do a thing to stop it. All he has left now is regret. Regret over all those missed opportunities where he could have said how he felt but didn’t as well as wondering what could have been if he had. 😢 And I still rather love that sequence for, “I guess we'll never know, you know, you know,” where it looks like Peter is kicking himself for not being brave enough to say something to Caspian when they’d had a moment upon first entering Cornelius’ office. 😊

‘Before you go, was there something I could've said to make your heart beat better? If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather’

When Caspian finds Peter during his and Susan’s talk with Aslan, he can see that something isn’t right with Peter. He wants to help but how can he when he never knew the depths of what Peter, a king to a nation that had been home to him and his siblings for 15 years, had dealt with by being flung back into their own world against his wishes. A loss of self, of purpose and of feeling like he truly belonged.

‘So, before you go, was there something I could've said to make it all stop hurting? It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless’

And now we come to the second instance of this line where I focus on a moment when Peter feels worthless. Of course, no one is harder on Peter then Peter himself. As the High King, he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and he when he messes up, he feels the shame of it in every fibre of his being. After the failed castle raid, and the subsequent run-in with Jadis, Caspian starts to see a side of Peter that he never had before. The side that makes mistakes and, in his darkest moments, doubts his value. And that only makes him feel for Peter all the more and wish he knew the right things to say that would make Peter feel otherwise.

‘So, before you go’

And lastly the ending. What can I saw about the ending that hasn’t already been said. I mean, between Peter’s, “we’re not really needed here anymore,” and Caspian’s, “I will look after it until you return,” has there ever been a scene where two people who love each other have said so much and yet so little at the same time?? They were so close to having it all and now they’re being torn apart as Peter walks out of Caspian’s life, never to return. 😢

And on that note, I think I’ll leave it there. I’ve had so many feelings about these two over the last year and a half and, with yet more fic/vid ideas percolating in my mind, I don’t think that will be ending anytime soon. 😊

What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

this is a tricky question because while I don't fw many ships in the fandom I can see where they're coming from but, Nozel/Vanessa? this ship confuses me and I can't wrap my head around it because neither parties have reasons to be with the other. I'm sure it has its appeal. I just can't fathom it. doesn't help that whenever I cross by this ship a voice inside my head yells "ooc alert, ooc alert, run and don't look back!" (/hj) - clearly not for me 😅

14. Unpopular opinion about your fandom?

I think a good part of the fandom either has a hate bone towards the bulls or are just jealous because the number of people I've seen who blame the squad for the lack of screentime given to their faves while wishing them to stop "seeking yami" or "fighting back" or "hog all the attention this isn't about them" is concerning.

I'm not sure if this counts as an unpopular opinion, but bullshit - the bulls shouldn't be blamed for the series' fast pace when half of them are lacking in screentime, they shouldn't stop doing things when the mangaka put them in situations that require reactions. I get it, plenty of other characters are underdeveloped and done dirty - for example yuno should've much more screentime in spade kingdom and nozel's encounter with megicula as well as the silva plot line left much to be desired, but what about we stop venting off on the story's main cast when they're literally playing the roles they meant to represent?

27. Least shippable character?

naaaw, if you ask me to pick a ship for solid I'd list you three potential crackpairs for him easy peasy 😂

what is not easy is thinking of pairs that include characters my brain only sees as aroace, like Luck. yeah I fw magnaluck occasionally but only from queerplatonic perspective, with specific context, and if I'm in the right mood, but ultimately?? I just don't know how to pair luck with others and keep it shippy, he's so anti-shipping in my head and deserves all the familiar love in the world.

The beginning part reminds me of the confrontation scene in 'love is a blister' where the counselors put Trouble on trial for loving Luke---the reality of it is they and everyone at camp only know what Luke & Trouble have shown them, but everything between them is private and their own. They didn't expect him to leave her behind. There are a lot of references throughout the series and especially in 'solipsism' where his last time alive as his waning sense of self he goes to visit Trouble who's fresh from visiting Annie in 'love is a blister' and he literally is burning through his old self as kronos overtakes his body. He couldn't imagine not being able to say goodbye before becoming true vessel and well in TLO, teeeechnically what happens and what i plan to write i--[GUNSHOTS]

I have a lot of scattered thoughts about Dungeon Meshi vol. 9, actually. (gonna talk about spoilers below)

-Marcille has a definite habit of misjudging and infantilizing the other races. Comes with the territory of being an elf. Even so, she seems to take that tendency to the extreme with Fallin. Maybe it's because Fallin was so young when they first met? I do think it's interesting though to view it through the lens of Marcille having unacknowledged romantic feelings for her. Loudly insisting that Fallin's just a little girl who needs looking after is a lot safer than examining the depth and nature of her attachment to her best friend.

-that said, Marcille x fireball OTP

-The look of pure excitement on her face after being told that she'd just been killed and brought back-- babygirl, you are just as much of a freak as all these other weirdos in your party.

-Speaking of, Laios' internal moment of "oh, but I'm the freak?" when Marcille casually mentions having eaten fish testicles.

-and to continue on the subject of the dynamic between these two characters specifically, there's a lot to unpack with Laois' succubus taking the form of Marcille, his initial reaction to it, and the way that it ultimately goes about winning him over. So much so that I don't know where to begin with it, really.

-everyones' succubi have some interesting implications. Marcille having the romantic sensibilities of a middle school girl and/or telemundo-addicted abuela. Chilchuck being charmed by generic Hot Single half-foot ladies who bear no resemblance to the estranged wife that he's nonetheless remained faithful to. Whatever the fuck senshi had goin on.

-and of course, Izutsumi. kitten. :( She really doesn't seem to have had anybody looking out for her before joining Laios' party. Even Toshiro, who calls his servants family, was so quick to leave her behind in the dungeon when she went MIA. I do love the moment where she pauses to consider the idea of her beast half as a companion and partner. OTP ended with Marcille/fireball, Izutsumi/self-acceptance is my new ship.

-(in light of the nature of her succubus, I'm choosing to interpret her as aro-ace btw. girl CAN still appreciate the raw sensual power of a panther tho.)

-Chilchuck's dad side really comes out where Izutsumi's concerned. The way that he tries to guide her to the "right" answer when she's frustrated with the rest of the group, how quickly he assumes responsibility for her seemingly disappearing, and the fact that he's the first to suggest looking for her despite in no way being physically up for it when he's normally mr. pragmatism. I am such a sucker for adoptive parent/child dynamics.

-oh yeah, why did that cute little page spread of "monsters that steal your heart" on chapter 60 kick off with chil having a nightmare about his three daughters being axe murdered (by himself?) and senshi getting ensnared by a vision of his former party alive and embracing him. all drawn in a chibi style. Ryoko Kui has really mastered tonal whiplash.

all of that isn't even beginning to touch on Kabru, Mithrun, and the massive lore drops, but I'm gonna have to come back to that later.

-Danny x Sam

Yeah yeah, call me cliche/basic all you want with this being in the OTP rank… but dangit, I just can’t help it after all the fond nostalgia for them I’ve had over the years~💜. A dorky ghostly hero w/ a spunky goth girl, encouraging eachother’s strengths & working through whichever hardships come their way, and by staying so supportive through thick & thin… it allowed for feelings to steadily blossom by the end~ 💚. Was it "perfectly" handled, development-wise? Well, maybe not. Do I wish they could've gotten together sooner so we'd actually see how they'd work as a couple? Absolutely. But all-in-all… writing flaws aside, I can't help but enjoy them anyway~ x3

-Dash x Jazz

Most def one of my more… "controversial" picks for an OTP these days, but hear me out lol. As much of an obnoxious jerk Dash was for most of the show… it always intrigued me alot for how he had that brief crush on Jazz early-on 🤔. Like, the girl wasn't even a popular kid herself from what we've seen in the show (often preferring books to people, half the time)… yet Dash of all people caught a bit of feels for her enough-to invite her to his party? Interesting 👀 Do I think they would've worked as an actual canon ship? …Weeell, most likely no lol. BUT, can't say I'm not a sucker for a good ol' "confident nerd x smug jock" dynamic, esp for the potential of Jazz helping to humble Dash in his place + Dash encouraging Jazz to loosen up more & have fun (away from just being the "responsible" smart one all the time). Hehee~ ;p

-Ghostwriter x Ember

One of my "newer" OTPs as of late, I just love the potential of two artsy-inclined ghosts (Ember w/ her music + Ghostwriter w/ his writing) forging a special bond together~ 💜Whether it's Ember nudging GW out of his comfort zone like the kickass babe she is, GW encouraging more "downtime" moments for Ember at home (whenever the rockstar fame gets too much), and then occasionally annoying everyone with their poetic displays of lovin' when they're out & about together~ -w-

-Jack x Maddie

I mean, this one's a no-brainer to put here lol =P Two happily-married, proud ghost-researchers who work perfectly as a "brains & brawn" duo. Even if there's occasional moments of marital spats (-often from Jack's excitable mishaps 😅 lol), the way they're ultimately always able to find their way back to eachother (even in an AU-timeline where Maddie married Vlad) is just… d'awwww~ ❤️

-Johnny 13 x Kitty

The OG ghost sweethearts whom I'm so sad never seems to feel fully-appreciated by the fandom… even though there's SO much to love about them imho~ The way Johnny was so devoted to bring Kitty into the human world with him (even if it had to involve using Jazz along the way), Kitty's protective rage upon seeing Danny hurt Johnny (despite being mad at him earlier), and the behind-the-scenes element of their VAs being a married couple irl just adds another layer of sweetness to them ngl~ 💚

-Nocturn x Desiree

Two ancient, powerful ghostly spirits keen for chaos and grandeur for themselves… they'd be quite a power couple match the more I've thought of them (+working with their son, Reve). Reminding me alot of Xibalba & La Muerte from "The Book of Life", in a way~ lol ;p

-Walker x Spectra

The stern, crooked ghost warden w/ the cunning shadow lady, if thats not already a recipe for some "steamy" chemistry there~ 👀💚

-Fright Knight x Dorathea

The fiercest ghostly knight with the growing-badass dragon princess spells SO much for beautiful ship chemistry~ :love: With the Fright Knight clearly being a man who values strength & confidence, to have Dorathea around for him to admire and protect (& vice-versa with her own dragon-shifting skills)… just hhhhhhh I NEED it in my life ToT ❤️

-Danielle x Valerie

These two definitely caught my heart ALOT more than I expected these last couple years; from the way Danielle was the key to helping Valerie realize not all ghosts are bad, their moment of teamwork once Danny & Val helped to save her from Vlad, and even that bit of them sneakily scaring Danny at the end was pretty amusing to see~ lol Whether as a strong duo of friends, or something "more" down the line, either way these girls def deserve all the love in the world~ ❤️

-Paulina x Star I will never not be a sucker for a classic "girlboss gfs" ship, and even if Paulina & Star didn't get too much development/focus (outside of being mean girls)… well, they just give me all the feels with how well they click together~ ❤️With Star being one of the few characters Paulina was shown to genuinely care about (to the point of legit crying when Star went missing in "Claw of the Wild"), and the way they're always so doting & sweet when hanging out on the sidelines, how could you not see them potentially getting together~? :3

~DP Loved Ships~

-Desiree x Dorathea

The sneaky chaotic genie with the dutifully kind princess, a pair I think could have loads of potential after all both ladies have been through~ :aww: If it weren't for my attachment to other ships (+Arthur & Reve's characters in my NG), I'd def be down to give 'em more love ngl~ ❤️

-Freakshow x Lydia

While we never really got to know more of the context behind their relationship (if they're just a pair of allies, friends, or something "more"), I enjoyed seeing their chemistry of working together stealthily even after Freakshow lost everything/got further lost-in power. If there ever was a chance to see more of them together, I'd be down for that! ^^

-Kwan x Sam

My overall second-fave Sam ship from the series and one I seem to grow more & more fond of as of late 💜While only really interacting a handful of times, I just love how Sam was able to reach out to Kwan in offering him a chance to hangout (seeming to know that deep down he truly means well, despite all his clumsiness/loyalty to Dash). And Kwan being so dorky and keen to get into Sam's interests was pretty adorb too, so I can just imagine all their fun potential as a "golden retriever x black cat" duo :3 . Sam encouraging him to stand his ground, Kwan helping Sam tone down her temper/stubborn habits, all that jazz~ ;P

-Tucker x Valerie

Ngl, I'm still bummed the show abruptly ended this one before it could fully-flourish… 'cause man they seemed to have such a sweet setup going by "Shades of Gray" 💛. Tucker reaching out to Valerie to cheer her up (even after she lost her popularity/wealth), Valerie (albeit at first using him to get more info on the Fentons) seeming to lowkey enjoy his company the more she hung out with him, and seeing Tuck even going that extra mile to take the fall for Valerie's dad during that ghost accident at the end (which could've really gotten him in trouble)… just, c'mon how could you not find see the ship-potential in that~? :3 While I'm ultimately fine with these two just staying as friends from then-on, I can't help thinking of the "What Ifs?" with them now & then~ ^^

-Valerie x Sam

Again, yet another pair that I feel the fandom's sadly sleeping on… 'cause c'moooon, these girls would be SO fitting as a gf duo together!~ :D Their whole conflict regarding Danny aside, they've got quite a bit in-common in terms of their strong-willed spirits, loyalty to their loved ones, and even while stubborn at times, they've got the drives to try & do the right thing when it all comes down to it~ 👍 As well as having their own lil differences that could help give each girl a better perspective on things (not all popular/preppy kids are bad, not every outcast kid is a “loser", etc.). Ups & downs they may have at times, Val x Sam could def use some more love all-in-all! 💜🧡

~DP Liked Ships~

-Danny x Valerie

Probably the most popualr Valerie ship in terms of the general fandom, and rewatching the show its not hard to see why! Both having gone from two bickering kids unable to stand eachother, to a ghost & hunter duo having to learn how to work together, and even their brief dating phase/further-truce down the line allowed for some solid development to form imo :3 I may not be too invested in this one compared to other ships I have for them both, but kudos to the fans who try to give them that proper attention the showed failed on (even if just closure-wise) anyway! ^^

-Danielle x Sam

While their interactions all-in-all were a lil brief, I couldn't help getting the cute image out of my head of Dani lowkey getting a puppy crush on Sam at some point~ ;p Nothing too serious or anything, just a nice lil bit of amusing fluff imo.

-Jazz x Sam

They may have had their differences when Jazz first joined the team, but I did find it sweet how well the girls learned to work together by the end of "Girls Night Out" (gave me a bit of Starfire & Raven vibes ngl lol) :3 I may lowkey be a bit more invested in them friendship-wise, but they're still a fun pair either way ^^

-Pandora x Dorathea

Hehe, the Double-Dora ship lmao =P Silly pun-theming aside, I think it'd be cute seeing Doratea be so in awe of Pandora's wisdom, strength & protective heart for her realm. Even if nothing serious forms from there, I think it'd still be sweet~ ^^

-Kwan x Paulina

Set as I am with the Paulina x Star ship, if I had to envision what kind of guy I'd potentially put with her instead… hmmmm, I think her & Kwan could be cute? .3. With his laidback sweetheart nature balancing well against her sassier tendencies, it'd be fun to see how they'd click imo :3

-Kwan x Tucker

Hehe, ngl… it will never not crack me up how Tuck's first instinct of "YOU'LL NEVER REPLACE DANNY, NEVER!" is almost-immediately followed up to these two frolicking through a meadow lol Guess even Tucker couldn't resist the big sweetheart after awhile, d'aww~ ;P

~DP Ok Ships~

-Jazz x Tucker

A semi-common ship I’ve seen floating around in DP fanfics (mainly as a side ship to DxS), and I’ll admit I can see why it’d appeal. Both are generally smart kids, having helped eachother out here & there on Team Phantom (like the “Frightmare” ep), and the idea of Danny’s bff becoming his future brother-in-law has some cute & funny potential to it lol. On the other hand, though… ehh, part of me feels like it may be a bit too convenient to ship off Tuck w/ Jazz as the only other singles in Team Phantom (lowkey almost akin to Sokka x Toph being commonly shipped alongside Kataang in ATLA-). Not to say its a “bad” ship idea in the grand scheme of things… buuuut idk, I feel like it’d kinda depend on how its written imo .3.

-Wes x Jazz As generally “in-the-middle” I’ve always been to Wes Weston on his own (since he basically just kinda exists to be the “Derpy Hooves” in the DP fandom lol), I’ll admit the fan-content between him & Jazz looked rather cute ^^. Can’t quiiiite put them much higher given Wes’ overall background character-status (so his personality could basically be anything you want… for better or worse lol), but yee .3.

-Technus x Desiree

I seem to semi-regularly spot this around here & there whenever I look up ghost-focused DP ships… which seems like they’d have an interesting “Opposites Attract” angle together, the more I think about it 🤔 Can’t say I’ve ever been that big of a Technus fan tho, hence why this one’s a bit lower-ranked ngl.

-Kwan x Star

One of the other “mainstream” human ships I’ve seen in the DP fandom, mainly shipped through some side ship/NG-related roles. And… I mean, I guess it is a fairly harmless pair for the most part, given they both seemed to genuinely connect well after getting ditched in “Lucky in Love”. But I just… idk, something about them never really intrigued me much to ship them in the longterm :P Not really sure why tbh…

-Sam x Star Saw a couple pieces of them floating around that I'll admit looked cute (esp with their contrasting aesthetics & what-not). Though again, with Star, well… not having a whole lot to her when not with Paulina/the other A-Listers, its kiiinda hard to rank it much higher imo

-Paulina x Tucker

A concept I've only ever seen pop up rarely in the fandom… though, I could potentially see something work here if written right? .3. With Tuck being alot more confident than most "geeks" around him, I'm sure he'd be able to handle Paulina's attitude (which I'm sure in her position, I'm sure she'd probably find a lil refreshing lol), if they ever got the chance to one-on-one bond. Idk, there's still some other ships I tend to prefer more for the both of 'em… but hey, more power to those who wish to explore them anyway! ^^

-Gregor (aka: “Elliot”) x Sam

While I’ll admit seeing Sam’s initial crush on the guy was kinda cute… the fact that he diiiiid turn out to be lying about his goth Hungarian identity by the end (+his sudden jerkiness to Tucker) sadly killed the ship’s chances from there, I’m afraid ^^;. Kudos to some of the rare bits of fan-content I’ve seen exploring their (+Gregor’s) potential a bit more tho… it looks interesting .3.

~DP Neutral Ships~

-Skulker x Ember

One of the more "common" ghost ships ever since the early fandom days… and, not really one that's caught my eye in recent memory 🤷‍♀️ Like, yeah I know they're both fiery punks & became an actual canon thing by the "Girls Night Out" ep… buuuut eh, it just felt a bit too randomly-placed for me to get that many "feels" from them imo. Not to say I'd mind seeing them as a side ship in other DP fanfics or however… just kinda depends on how they're written imo.

-Danny x Star

As much as I'll admit there's some rare bits of fanart that looked a lil cute with them both… ehhhh, again Star's just never seemed to click enough with Danny for me to get more into it (with the most being when she did all his homework to win a beauty pageant… and thats it lol). But thats just me .3.

-Danny x Wes

With how popular Wes is on his own, its not too surprising this one would lowkey become a crackship after awhile. Though… idk, for me it almost feels like a copypaste of Danny x Val's dynamic for most fan-portrayals I've seen of 'em, so I didn't quiiiite stay that interested, I'm afraid .w.;

-Dash x Paulina

Similar case to Kwan x Star in essentially being one of the more “common” human side cast ships (mainly for both of 'em being jerkish popular kids lol). Not a bad idea per-say for a ship concept… buuuut at the same time, just a tad too predictable for me to fully-pair 'em imo.

-Tucker x Danielle Only once or twice I've seen this one shipped, and… I guess I can see some ship potential, kinda? Idk, for some reason its been hard for me to fully-see Danielle with guys lately… dunno why lol

-Tucker x Star

Star may not have been the nicest to him when they briefly hooked up in "Lucky in Love" (on account of Tuck mainly going after her as the "satellite" popular girl lol). I guess I could maaaybe give this one a pass if Star got some more development… tho again, it just depends .3.

-Vlad x Spectra

A fairly common Vlad-focused ship from what I've seen (generally based on their similar aesthetics, in a way?). Seems… alright as a potential pair, but for some reason I just… can't seem to get into it one way or another. Eh… .w.;

~DP Disliked Ships~

-Danny x Dash

“He bullies you ‘cause he liiiiikes you~” has long since grown stale as a shipping trope imo, so I really don’t get why this ship’s semi-popularity lasted as long as it did :/. Like, sure I don't mind the potential of Dash getting redeemed/developed more beyond just a bully… but outside of him hero-worshipping Danny's Phantom half, what else really "is" there to count much for a ship? For me… I just don't see it :/

-Danny x Ember

A pretty popular ship whenever I try to look up Ember content… aaaaand again, not one I've ever been down for much :P. Seems to really mostly appeal to those who think Ember's hot & thus feel like Danny has to have her (+other ghost girls) by-default… which idk, just kept giving me squicky vibes after awhile tbh >>. Not to mention some of the more… "vocal" fans seemingly to also be particularly strong Sam-haters for most of the D/E circles I've stumbled across, aaaaand then it just became even less appealing from there tbh -x-

-Danny x Paulina

A surprising ship I've seen getting steadily popular in recent memory, and… ehhhh as much as I've tried, I just can't bring myself to get into it myself ^^; Again, I'm not at all opposed to Paulina changing her ways & developing better beyond a popular girl role… buuuut with Danny basically doing nothing but awkwardly ogling her looks (+her using him whenever she wants something) for most of the show, like… again, is there anything else to truly "tie" them together, longterm-wise? ^^; Idk, personally if I wanted to pair Danny with a "mean girl-turned-ally" character, I'd rather just stick with Valerie imo.

-Dash x Sam

With how little tolerance Sam has for obnoxious dumbassery, and Dash… well, basically being that in a nutshell lol, I can't say there'd be much of a chance for this one to work imo. Even in a potential one-sided crush situation on Dash's end (and/or Sam's parents maybe pushing for it as an "image"-boost in their rich circles), it just ain't meant to be :P.

-Vlad x Desiree

This dude's basically the embodiment of everything Desiree hates in guys (self-absorbed, greedy, and a creep)… need I say more? lmao

-Paulina x Sam

Again, I've gone over this a few times in the past… buuut as much as I've always yearned to end the "Not like OTHER girls" mantra from way back when, it doesn't automatically make me keen to ship EVERY combo of a girly-girl & alt. tomboy together :/. Not helped by Sam's hurt from Paulina toying with Danny (aka: her best friend) due to one of their petty arguments, aaaaand I can't say I'd ever see this one working outside of maybe a (distant) friendship, once they've grown up a bit better. Otherwise, ehhhh… 🤷‍♀️

-Danny x Kitty If it weren't bad enough that Kitty was ONLY ever dating Danny to make Johnny jealous… the fact that there's the added ick of Paulina being used as a "host body" by Kitty this whole time (-when the poor girl can't even consent/never wanted to date Danny to begin with) just adds a whoooole new layer of "nope" to this pair, if you ask me >>;;

Ughhh… while I know there's arguably worse ships out there in the grand scheme of things, this ship just always rubbed me the wrong way with how cheaply they've been shipped about in this fandom..😒Mostly ever done as a way to keep Sam away from Danny (and… I guess to just give Tucker something to do when he's not really focused on fanon-wise, either 🤷‍♀️), it fails to take into account just how much Tucker & Sam's differences/attitudes are too fundamentally different to work. From their whole "meats vs. veggies" conflict in the first ep having been the cause of a ghostly mess at their school, to them having to practically always need Danny around to balance their friendship… it just ultimately proves to me that not ALL opposites are meant to attract, I'm afraid >>

-Danny/Tucker/Sam

The OG Phantom trio from the very beginning, what more can I say about 'em that the show haven't showed enough of? ^^ Even if Tucker x Sam still rubs me the wrong way ship-wise, I still enjoy their overall friendship & teamwork when it comes to supporting Danny & vice-versa. And heck, even if there's a scenario that Danny & Sam don't end up together, I like to think they'd always be the best of friends no matter what~ :3

-Danny/Clockwork

I enjoyed seeing their mentor & student-like dynamic the more they interacted in "The Ultimate Enemy" & "Masters of All Time". While rather trollish to Danny at first, its clear Clockwork means well in wanting to teach Danny a lesson that actions have consequences (no matter how big or small) ^^

-Danny/Danielle/Jazz

A bundle of Fenton siblings that I can't help but find wholesome the more I've rewatched the series~ :) From Danny & Jazz's growing support for one another upon Jazz realizing her lil bro's secret, to Danny learning to lookout for Danielle beyond her being his clone (akin to how a big brother would, in a way ^^), and even though we sadly didn't get the chance for Danielle to meet Jazz (or the other Fentons) before the show ended, I like to think the two girls would get along great either way as (technical) sisters~ :3

-Dark Danny/Danielle/Jazz Even though you could argue Dark Danny (or "Dan" if you prefer) should prob be more considered his "own" character at this point, I just can't help enjoy certain fan-depictions of him maintaining a strong sibling bond with both Jazz and/or Danielle ^^ Guess that brotherly instinct inside Danny would never "fully" go away even while evil… awww ^^

-Danielle/Youngblood

Whether its with Sam being an equally-evil Plant Queen, or Sam actually surviving the Nasty Burger explosion somehow (+potentially working alongside Valerie as a huntress), just imagine the tension to form with her & Dark Danny~ 👀

I may not be suuuuper huge on Vlad on his own accord, but ngl… seeing the rare bits of art/fics with him & Harriet Chin (Maddie's old college friend) got me lowkey intrigued o3o. Reminding me a bit of a "darker" version of Superman/Clark x Lois' dynamic, I can imagine Harriet getting more intrigued to find out more about the "mystery" of Vlad's Plasmius half (perhaps as a way to restore her own reputation post-"Bitter Reunions")… coming across eachother enough for some potential "sparks" to form. -Tucker x Wendy Corduroy ("Gravity Falls") Was a reaaaally random old crossover I had that I didn't get to work with much, but I couldn't help finding it cute back when I was more into "Gravity Falls" :> The idea formed of it being Tucker essentially getting sent down to Gravity Falls via-family vacation (as a lowkey break from him being so "tech-obsessed" lol), coming across Wendy & getting mixed into her own misadventures at the Mystery Shack. Can't quite remember if I thought more to their ship setup further, but its still a cute concept imo~ ^^

-Sam x Tom Lucitor ("Star VS. The Forces of Evil")

Ok, now this one I'll admit I just always had this in the back of my mind but never got the chance to talk more about it… buuuuut this is what happens when you have two comfort faves & want all the best for 'em lol ^^. Essentially I see this happening on account of Tom (having already gone through enough bs by the end of "Star VS."), somehow coming across Sam and forming a connection along the way. Both coming from affluent families but struggling to get involved socially in such roles (Sam being the "perfect" prim daughter + Tom being a prince), having an affinity for alternative/rebellious interests, and both having a stubborn but strong loyalty for those they deeply care about. With the potential of Sam even further helping Tom ease up on his temper/encourage him to be himself more often, who knows what other antics they can get up to together!~ :3

oh this is really hard. I really respect how tightly Ghost Trick is written, and it's hard to pull apart at the structure without things falling apart. most of these are post-timeline reboot, I think.

I know this is a limitation of only having so much space but it would have been cool if his coat was different in the new timeline due to there being not as much of a need for his perfectionism like there is in the old timeline

They are my ultimate OTP. I don’t even really care for e2l pairings personally but lawlight to me is just Different and those that get it get it

2) Kataang from Avatar: The Last Airbender

Literally they were the first ship I ever shipped. I’ve shipped this pairing since I was like 8 years old. They are very near and dear to my heart and they are so cute and perfect together and they spark so much joy and I am SO EXCITED for the movie!!!!

3) Byler from Stranger Things

I am obsessed with this ship. I love them so much and I am rooting for their endgame in the final season! I love the analysis the byler shippers come up with and they’re genuinely such a fun ship to me

My favorite character of all time is Light Yagami from Death Note. I fucking LOVE his character so much. I just love everything about him. The way he’s written, the nuance, his whole aesthetic. It’s so *chefs kiss* and I have so many thoughts about him. I am NOT one of those death note “fans” that hates Light or drags his character lol. I am a Light enjoyer unapologetically and he imo is one of the best villains of ALL TIME

Another character I love immensely is Carl Grimes from The Walking Dead comic book. Not the show cuz the show is trash! I used to relate so much to Carl growing up bc I read the comic book as a teen. He’s forever cemented as one of my favorite characters of all time. Also I love the character design and how he’s kind of an anti hero

I also love Ellie Williams from The Last of Us 1 and 2 for the same reason. She reminds me a lot of Carl in the “anti hero” sense. She’s also such a badass. Love those video games !!!!

I also love Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan. Can you tell I like morally questionable characters? Lol. Eren was always and will always remain my favorite character in AOT. He’s kind of crazy but I like it lol and I kind of relate 🤣

Aang from ATLA is also one of my favorite characters. He’s got a sick character design, I love the way he’s written and he’s genuinely a huge comfort character to me. His character arc makes me cry it’s so well done and I love his personality. His character makes me very happy :)

Lastly I think another fav character is Will Byers from Stranger Things. I relate heavily HEAVILY with him. Not only that he’s an artist like me, or his personality which is similar to me as well, but also his upbringing with an abusive father and lastly the fact he’s canonically a gay guy like me makes me feel very represented in the show. He’s my favorite in the entire cast of characters. Love him to death and Noah Schnapp was such a perfect cast and he acts his ass off every second of screen time

👀 vander (arcane) for the “give me a character” thingy?

Oh, Vander. Big Van. Hound of the Underground. Do I have thoughts about this fella.

How I feel about this character:

I really wish we'd seen more of him, and I'm interested to see what we get in Season 2—but my only assumption is that Vi is following right in her dad's footsteps in terms of her own character flip and regrets.

I headcanon him as self-loathing as much as he is prideful, as built by wrath as he is by kindness; a once power-hungry, blood-thirsty, have you spitting teeth for squinting at him wrong brute who either a) laid down his prejudices for love (Grayson and Caitlyn parallels?) or b) had his hand forced and fessed up the cause (aka: Silco got him in deep shit). Maybe a bit of both.

Overall, I think he's a man shackled by his own guilt, who carried more pressure than he likely deserved, and who resented the monster he watched himself become—and the one he, ultimately, enabled in Silco.

All the people I ship romantically with this character:

As aforementioned a bit, Grayson and Vander's dynamic has really grown on me. I think there's something there that could be akin to Silco and Sevika—whether they've truly crossed the line of romantic is up for interpretation, but it's clear that they've spent enough years in each others' back pockets to know their ways around their edges.

I read him and Silco as having an extremely gray line—but again, I think that's up for interpretation. I personally think Vander only ever viewed Silco as a brother (or was in deep denial of anything else), while Silco had a borderline obsessive admiration, even idolization of him that definitely toed the waters of something deeper. (Cue the venom on his end at being called brother, and nothing more, because ouch.)

Out of pocket rarepair I could see him with? Cassandra Kiramman. (Tell me this man wouldn't swoon at having a gun pointed in his face.)

In that vein...what if he had had a thing with Sevika?

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

Again, I really read Grayson and Silco as toeing the line here.

There's a clear camaraderie in the brief scenes we get with Grayson and Vander that have platonic chemistry bursting at the seams. I can absolutely see them tearing bars down with laughter over (several) rounds of whiskey.

Silco and Vander's what-could-have-been will eat me raw every time. The BRIDGE SCENE. *banging my fist on the table* You see a teenage love and heartbreak in one fell swoop, a prodigy and a mentor, a lackey and a superior, an underdog and the head of the pack, two incredibly jaded men who have sliced out their humanity and left half-beating things on the table. The layers of them are fascinating. I would take an origin story on these two in any and every flavor.

My unpopular opinion about this character:

There's a lot of Silco Bad / Vander Good takes in terms of their parenting qualities, but I think a lot of people paint too broadly over Vander's flaws.

He puts the weight of the world on Vi's shoulders, and projects onto her as strongly as Silco projects onto Jinx (but whereas Silco projects his view of self-reclamation and survival, Vander projects his guilt and resentments). They both see each other completely in these kids, for better or worse. And as much as Vander enables Vi's violence, puts inherent pressure on her to be the protector of the family in his absence, he simultaneously shames her for following in his footsteps (because he is scolding his younger self—not seeing her as an individual).

He's also shown to be fairly tough with the boys, and someone who perhaps struggles somewhat to connect with Powder, though he tries. Vi is really his clear favorite, and where the breadth of his expectations lie.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

I'm holding out for early Silco and Vander flashbacks in S2. Honestly top of my list for things I would have loved to see.

I also would have loved to see more of an exploration of him raising the kids after finding Vi and Powder, and showing the transformation from the "Hound" into the man who laid down the gauntlets. If we're getting early Powder/Jinx flashbacks with Silco, I'd actually be curious if we may get any with Vander on Vi's side, as well. Fingers crossed!
