Haku: I already told you. It was to protect my brother.

Haruto: Tell me the full thing. Was he being abused?

Haruto: Can you elaborate on that.

Haku: ...His teacher was really strict and would even beat him for playing wrong. He cried about it to me a lot.

Haruto: Is that allowed? Did you guys report to the school?

Haku: They didn't take the matter very seriously. I think a few other teachers were doing it too.

Haruto: That's horrible. But did you have to murder the guy? Wouldn't switching to another school make more sense?

Haku: Yes, but Kurosaki didn't want to transfer.

Haruto: Why not?

Haku: He wanted to quit music entirely.

Haruto: Ehhh...

Haku: I couldn't let that happen just because he didn't like his teacher! I had to do something.

Haruto: Wait, what?

Haku: Its not that he doesn't like the violin anymore, his teacher was holding him back by not teaching him well. The school we got into was the best of the best, we couldn't just transfer! So...I had to remove the teacher. Then everything will go as planned.

Haruto: Planned?

Haku: We're going to be the best piano-violin duo in the world. That's the promise we made when we were younger.

Haruto: I still don't understand where murder became necessary.

Haku: After I kill Kurosaki's teacher, they'd have to replace him with someone else. Hopefully one that doesn't beat their students.

Haruto: ...And you don't see anything wrong with your reasoning?

Haku: I suppose many people would disagree with the way I handled things, but I don't think there's a problem with what I did.

Haruto: Well, maybe your brother wanted to try something else.

Haku: That's nonsense. He loves the violin.

Haruto: Really? There's a chance he would have-

Haku: I won't entertain that thought. Music is the only path for him.

Haruto: ...Do you hear yourself? You'd rather kill a music teacher than let your brother try something else for a career.

Haku: Don't make it seem like I'm unreasonable. I gave that teacher a warning. I personally went to his house to tell him to either go easy on Kurosaki or stop teaching altogether.

Haruto: And he refused?

Haku: Of course he did. He wasn't even listening properly.

Haruto: Wow. You sure are...something.

[Bell rings, mechanical sounds in the back.]

Haruto: Did he put up a fight while you tried to murder him?

Haku: I caught him by surprise. He couldn't do much.

Haruto: Maybe being a serial killer is your true calling.

Haku: I'm only interested in music for a career.

Haruto: ...Prisoner 005, sing your sins!

The MV starts with two babies lying in a crib together, swaddled in blankets. The camera slowly zooms in.

"Ah, its you again. Have you come for the final act? The curtains are about to close. Cheers to our encore."

Then it cuts to a teenage Haku playing the piano and Kurosaki the violin on stage. The audience, rows and rows of faceless people, watch in awe. Kurosaki plays with a smile. Haku stares blankly ahead, as if playing from muscle memory alone. His eyes flash green.

"From the start, its always been us two. A piano and a violin, the best duet in the world."

A younger Haku and Kurosaki walk along a blank white space, hand in hand. Pictures of them together flash across the screen. The beach. Their living room. Acceptance letters to music school.

"From the start, it was decided. The only path for us. Whatever the obstacle, I'll be sure to remove it. Nothing will hold us back. Not even me."

Haku sits by the piano in his living room, practicing the same segment of a piece for the bridge of the song. He keeps messing up. With each mistake, his outline turns more and more green. His shoulders tremble. The green takes over the whole frame.

"You both will make the best duo." A cacophony of voices state, piling over one another.

Haku stares at himself in the bathroom mirror. Its the first time he's seen having eyebags. He lifts a hand and slaps it against the mirror. His expression remains blank, but he stares at his reflection in the mirror with ferocious intensity.

"Its too late to change course now. You're not allowed to do things half-baked. Whatever the obstacle, I'll be sure to remove it."

A picture of Haku hugging a crying Kurosaki on his bed. A crossroads appears in the blank space beneath their feet. Kurosaki starts to walk toward the right path but Haku holds onto his hand, forcing him to stop. Kurosaki parts his mouth in surprise.

"So its over now. An obstacle eliminated. He put up quite the fight and stuck to his beliefs 'til the bitter end. I can respect him for that."

A sequence where two black silhouettes, Haku and the man's, dance around on stage behind a screen. The set seems to be a music room judging by the instruments on stage. Haku kicks the man's shin. The man falls and hits his head on the side of the piano. A sudden piano keysmash interrupts the beat of the song. The man grovels on the floor, crawling away from Haku. Haku picks up the nearby guitar, holding it high above his head. The audiences. Fade to black.

"Its always been, the two of us against the world. You're not allowed to do things half-baked. You understand, don't you? The song is coming to an end. I've said my piece, so. That's all."

A door is opened to reveal Haku standing in the rain, splatters of blood running down his face in diluted streams. He wears a blank expression. The camera cuts to reveal that Kurosaki opened the door, now standing still in shock. Lightning flashes across the sky.

The sheer number of yellow hearts I saw upon pressing read more had me smiling so hard. This is what happens when you kin Ichiro ig. And yes, his crime is very similar to Haruka's, but I'm sure there are some differences between the two. Maybe. The first being that Ichiro didn't kill any animals.

You're right, Akane and Noa really are "sympathetic" compared to many of prisoners we've seen in Milgram (canon or otherwise). But I'm okay with that. :) Not every murderer needs to be morally grey or complicated. Some murders are complete accidents or deserved and that's just how it is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Daisuke having the biggest number of hearts ASHJDKSJDKSJDSK Yeah, he's better as a pathetic wet meow meow, isn't he? The worst I make him, the more you guys go 🎉🎉 I can't blame you, I'm enjoying this too. And yes, I'm really excited for his t3 development too! :DD His relationship with Ryuto is gonna be explored to the fullest, so look forward to that! Or don't. Its a rough ride.

Suzume has the best aesthetic, hands down. Whenever I picture her casual clothes, I implode on the inside. Yes, her yandere side is finally out in the open! XDD But let's not forget that her boyfriend was toxic in his own right. Can't wait to explore their messed up relationship more, haha. As for the girl she killed... You'll see. :)

You have a point, Haku really is a walking red flag. I thought he was going to be voted guilty for t2, but surprisingly, no. Congratulations, he will be enabled. At least you guys will get more information on his motives. :D I don't know what's going on with Aimi and her accomplice, but let's just say Haku didn't have the best of intentions in mind for his brother. Yui's hair turning white from stress is a neat detail. :)) Sometimes, picrew problems can lead to some fun twists in stories. And hold on to that bad feeling, her crime is so muddled and messy. 😭😭

We certainly learned a lot more about Kiyoshi's crime and background in this trial! Uh, about Yuta's interaction with Kiyoshi. You're quite close. :))

AURORA HIIIII i am so sorry i just got the time to reply ;w; okay okay here's what i think about your prisoners now! apologies if my opinions are mostly the same, i rarely change my mind when it comes to characters, unless they do something that makes me hate them with all my heart or makes me become obsessed with them.

ICHIROOOOOO MY SON!! i need to bite his head off. yes i want to bully him. and yes i feel bad for him and want him to get better. yes. "wdym you want his gender" well maybe i do want to look like him! a little bit! yes i mean his t2 version too i LOVE his t2 design!

i find ichiro's crime very interesting, it's like, at the same time it definitely feels connected to haruka (not in a bad way!), but it also feels very different? i'm not sure in what way though. i can't say i forgive him tbh, but i still want him to get a break.. for now.

i really want to learn more about him and what his relationship with his other family members is like! like, was he close with his mom? does he hate his stepfather or just doesn't care about him? maybe he actually liked his little brother and if it wasn't for the lack of attention, he wouldn't have killed him? HHHHHHHH i'd also love to see him interact with some of my future prisoners for.. reasons <3

I'M TELLING YOU HE'S A RED FLAG!! the whole "ohhh i just wanted to protect my brother 🥺🥺" thing does NOT make me trust him. like i have a bad feeling about him okay. there is SOMETHING going on. even if these two are just very codependent (or haku is just way too obsessed with his brother's safety), i'm still shaking my head. what if haku manages to get out and then somebody else becomes a threat to kurosaki's safety? i have a feeling that he'd try to kill again. him being so calm also kinda makes me nervous. like i want this guy to get a humbling experience. or maybe i'm just thinking way too deeply about this. haku and kurosaki's relationship couldn't possibly be worse or as bad as aimi and her accomplice's.

YUI!!!! THE GIRLBOSS HERSELF. i love her! i love her a lot! her hair becoming white because of stress is such a creepy detail, i love it. and her relationship with himiko is so. Daily Vocaloid rambling day 1- How old is Vocaloid? And other parts of Vocaloid history.

So, fun fact, Vocaloid actually started all the way back in 2004! Varying sources says different things, but LEON/LOLA were the first English Vocaloids (and I think the very first Vocaloids too), and MEIKO and KAITO were some of the first Japanese Vocaloids (although I'm not sure if they were THE first since we still have quite a few in V1)

Hatsune Miku, as commonly known, was released in 2007 for the Vocaloid2 engine. Then came Rin&Len ACT 1, which sounded a bit rough and muffled (I wasn't there to witness it, so don't take my words for it), which lead to the Rin&Len OG voices we know and love (ACT 2)

Somewhere in there, UTAU released, which is basically a free version of Vocalojd where you can make your own Voicebank (bring back cursed UTAU, erase AI covers!), although it didn't sound too good back then. The first UTAUloid was Defoko, but I'm not too knowledgeable on her.

And I guess somewhere in there, Fanloids such as Akita Neru and Yowane Haku were created? Since they were featured in the Teto Territory MV. Fanloids are Vocaloid characters who don't have an official Voicebanks. Yowane Haku and Akita Neru are the most popular ones. The former often being a pitched down Miku, and the latter, a pitched down Rin. Also fun fact, both are featured in the Loipara (Hachune Miku's everyday Vocaloid paradise) manga! They have pretty big roles too!

On April 1st 2008, Kasane Teto was introduced as a new Vocaloid, however, this was just an April's fool. BUT Teto didn't die like this! She got her own Voicebank in UTAU! And so, Teto Territory by ZUN (yes, THE ZUN who created Touhou) has been made and Utau became more known (although I might be wrong here, I joined Vocaloid five years ago, so, a lot of the history is stuff I learned about, not lived trough)

I'm gonna put this after, but it migh have been before that, Nyanyanyanya by DaniwellP was created, and someone out there made a cover with the UTAU Monome Momo, and it became the Nyan cat song we all know and love (I swear this song in Project Diva will be the death of me someday)

A few years later in 2009, Megurine Luka was released for V2, the first Vocaloid to have both an English and Japanese voice bank in one package! I'm gonna be honest, her English actually wasn't too good (looks at DYE), but it was a start!

From here on, I'm not too knowledgeable about the history. V3 got released and we got nee Meiko and Kaito VB, Gumi and Gakupo were released, V4 happened and we got new Luka, Miku, and Fin&Len VBs, and other stuff happened that I don't really know much about. SynthV happened too, which is a really good program,! And SynthV web exists, although with only one Voicebank, but that means you can make your own vocals on your browser (although actually saving it is a mess, but that's a story for later)

Then, on April 1st 2023, Kasane Teto SynthV happened. It was a great day, really. She became a real Vocaloid, even better than a Vocaloid!

Then last year the SP voicebanks dropped and... Yeah they're... Disapointing to say the least.

That's what I know and consider the basics of Vocaloid history! Of course, there is a lot more to say about producers and the songs released, but this is more about the history of Vocaloid as a software.

i'd love to see what you think about my prisoners' reactions to their verdicts! as i said in that post, i feel like some of them are very obvious, meanwhile some of them can only be understood after reading everyone's voice dramas. and considering that i have only akio's and aimi's voice dramas right now.. yeah, a lot of these prisoners haven't showed what they're really like yet.

PROJECT DIVA :) tl;dr its a rhythm game but with hatsune miku yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was actually one of my special interests kinda around 2018-2021!!!!! idk why i never rlly mention it on tumblr :P its just never come up i guess. I havent played in a while but i can do up to 9 stars on EXEX or 9.5s on EX!!! just cuz anything above that is way too much 4 me to process XD. ive played a FEW other rhythm games other than diva and rhythm heaven but nothing really scratches that itch like diva does yknow!!! also being able to change the outfits is SUCH a good gimmick to me sorry gamers. i spend way too fuckin long on the module selection screen every time im gonna play a song dude!!!! its so fun though X] one issue i have with the series is that the MVs in the earlier games, ESPECIALLY f2nd looked WAY BETTER!!!!!!! they were just so much more colorful and lifelike!!! also you could see mikus nose and the stupid toon shader, which you CANT TURN OFF in megamix, looks super ugly!!!! but also whatever cuz i can design funny shirts ^_^ yippee

my favorite module is urban pop (miku) and some of my other favs are: lab girl (miku), meteorite (miku), m.s.j. Personality: Haku is pragmatic and logical, often able to keep a cool-head under pressure and resolve issues efficiently. This traits of his has earned him the reputation of being a neutral third party for disputes at Milgram. That doesn't mean he's a judge per say. The other prisoners just ask for his opinion and it somehow resolves the argument most of the time. How miraculous.

He's also reserved and introverted, so he prefers to keep to himself. He won't start conversations, but has no problem talking to someone if they approach him. They'll be able to witness a more talkative side to him if they manage to bring up a topic he's passionate about.

Compared to the other prisoners in high school, he could be considered disciplined and well-behaved. He helps out with the chores and has proper manners that endear him to most of the older prisoners. Seems he's just naturally popular.

His MV description: His MV mostly takes place in an auditorium. The colours that appear are bright and pastel, no deep colours are present. A piano and violin duet makes up most of the melody.

The MV starts with Haku doing a ballet routine with another boy. They share the same shade of black hair, but the other's is shorter. Haku's costume is white, whilst the other wears black.

An audience watch in adoration and awe as the pair continue to dance on stage. Their stares start to make Haku feel nervous. His dance partner smiles and tugs him into doing an impromptu tango routine. Haku is so shocked, he snaps out of his anxiety.

Haku smiles too after a while, enjoying the freestyle dance. But the audience starts to frown and whisper to each other, unhappy with the sudden change of routine. Haku slows down for a moment to look at them, his worry returning tenfold.

The stage gives out under him and his partner, as if a sinkhole had suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Haku finds himself falling with the other holding tightly onto his arm.

As they continue falling into a dark void, Haku looks down to see his partner laughing almost thrillingly. He smiles fondly and presses a kiss to the other's head. The MV ends.

Allow me to infodump about Haku.

He's been told his whole life that he's going to be a duo with Kurosaki in the future, so that's what he ended up basing his identity on. The only thing you know about him is that music and Kurosaki is important to him, because his entire sense of self revolves around them. He would rather kill someone than let Kurosaki pursue anything other than the violin, because he can't imagine a future where he doesn't form a duo with his brother.

And honestly, he isn't that interested in his brother as a person either. I've mentioned before that you know more about Ryuto from Daisuke than Kurosaki from Haku, which is intentional because Haku doesn't actually know his brother that well. He looks out for him, but is mostly focused on making sure that Kurosaki is on the right track to working towards their "shared dream".

Haku has mentioned before that he works hard (he isn't as talented at the piano as Kurosaki is with the violin). Hence his outline has been mentioned to be green for this mv and the last because of his jealousy towards Kurosaki's (and perhaps others') talent for music.

After writing Encore, I'm not sure if Haku even likes music? It seems like he's become so used to trying to meet the expectations of those around him that he can't fathom any other way to live.

interesting.. so like, he doesn't actually love kurosaki and mostly just sees him as a part of that promise/dream? imagine killing for your brother and still not knowing much about him tho 😭😭 haku is a very interesting character, but i would still gladly bite his head off 👍 maybe haruto is right and he really should become a serial killer or an assassin even.. bro is already halfway there, so like. yeah
