I am not objectively against cosmetic surgery. In moderation, it is fine. But why does a 27 year old woman like Kylie Jenner look 45?

I thought the point was you were meant to look younger.
But she already *is* young.
She doesn’t look better. She looks worse.
Reminds me of Nicole Kidman acknowledging that she regretted messing with her beautiful red curly hair on The Graham Norton Show.
“I had lovely hair…now It’s just a red frizz mess that is straightened.”

I love when I goto the hairdressers and they obsess over my tallness, my thick hair, how brave I am.
I've been going to her since I was a lil boy. She was nervous about me having long hair, fell in love with it and then got nervous about my cutting it.
Now she's jealous that I have no hair on any side of my head, only the top, aka a undercut extreme and yet you'd still think I have a fill head of hair

What is with some of these hairdressers and humiliating their customers? I just don't get it. Someone is paying you for a service. Instead of doing it well or maybe even helping your client, you rather film a video and embarrass her. Talking about how dry or nappy her hair is. Talking about how ugly her hair is.

I am watching season 6 of Charmed and thinking Alyssa Milano had one of the best pixie haircuts ever put on screen.

It’s a very difficult haircut for many women to pull off, but she does it magnificently.
I am not a hairdresser but it just suits her, doesn’t it?

Mark Bradford
Mark Bradford utilizes discarded materials, some of which he collects near his studio in Los Angeles, as inspiration, content, and materials for his large-scale painted collages. His practice also includes photography, video, and installation work, but his primary interest has continued to be collage and painting. Growing up in a family of hairdressers in Los Angeles, he first began using materials from the salon, such as the small papers used for permanents and hair dyes, to make his art. He then began to reclaim and repurpose paper products from the street—including newspaper, advertising flyers, street posters, and other printed materials. Most of his works are horizontal in format, shaped like a billboard or outdoor sign, and his imagery often recalls the intersecting lines of a map or network. In applying the materials to the surface, the artist often tears and sands them—changing their texture and appearance, much the way paper weathers and ages over time.
This piece in the collection of Palm Springs Art Museum is based on a series of 50 billboards gathered from the Leimert Park neighborhood where Bradford maintains his studio. Those billboards pertained to an appeal by the Los Angeles Police Department for citizens to help gather information about a crime in the area. Bradford collected the printed signage, which is layered on the canvas in ways that simultaneously obscure and reveal its own content.

It can be difficult to locate hairdressers nearby who appreciate your own style and offer great service in this fast-paced environment. The importance of selecting talented hairdressers nearby cannot be overstated, regardless of your preference for a dramatic makeover, understated elegance, or just a simple trim. It's crucial to entrust your hair to experts who genuinely understand their trade because it's a crucial component of self-expression.
Why Choosing Local Hairdressers Matters
Beyond convenience, choosing hairdressers nearby has several advantages. Local salons frequently promote a feeling of community, which enables stylists to get to know regular customers and their tastes. Independent hairdressers nearby usually customise their services, making sure that each session is catered to the client's demands, in contrast to big corporate chains that could take a one-size-fits-all approach.
Supporting hairdressers nearby also helps small businesses and entrepreneurs in the area. Numerous local salons are family-run businesses that flourish from their devoted clientele and create a warm, personal environment. You are supporting your local economy and investing in high-quality, individualised service when you decide to visit hairdressers nearby.
Exploring the Range of Services Available
The range of services provided by hairdressers nearby is frequently far greater than expected. Local salons usually go above and beyond your expectations, whether you need professional colour treatments, precise trimming, or opulent hair therapies. To guarantee that your hair gets the greatest care possible, many facilities provide advanced treatments like balayage, keratin smoothing, and scalp revitalisation.
Furthermore, a lot of the hairdressers nearby are knowledgeable about the newest styles. Clients can experience updated looks that mirror current fashion tendencies because stylists are always updating their abilities to match modern techniques. Expert hairdressers nearby can realise your idea, whether you're going for a classic look or something more modern.
Finding the Right Hairdresser for You
Location should not be the only consideration while choosing hairdressers nearby. Your choice can be influenced by looking at client endorsements, assessing portfolio photos, and getting referrals. A lot of salons post samples of their work on social media to give prospective customers a sense of their level of expertise and originality.
Speaking with hairdressers nearby in person might also be helpful. Before scheduling an appointment, you can have a conversation with a stylist about your goals, hair history, and expectations. Professional hairdressers nearby will always offer guidance on how to preserve the health of your hair while getting the greatest results.
The Lasting Impact of a Skilled Hairdresser
Beyond appearances, a trip to the hairdresser's nearby can have a profound impact. Hairstyling is more than just a service; it's an experience that affects wellbeing and self-esteem. A new hairdo has the ability to inspire confidence, revitalise, and uplift.

I'm gonna need beauticians of all kinds (yes. Hairstylists and barbers too) to stop shit talking their clients to each other IN FRONT OF OTHER CLIENTS. What the fuck am I supposed to think when you start telling each other about how ugly the cut Janet choose is? Or how horrifically hairy the 16 yo who asked for a wax was and how disgusting it is? How can I not feel apprehensive when you say stuff like that in front of me? What are you saying when I'm not there? Do you find me repugnant, too? Do you think my white hair at the ripe ol' age of ~young adult~ are unsightly?
#vent#spider's web#beauticians#hairdressers#complaint#fuck man those people need to keep their thoughts to themselves#i see people rightfully call out nirses who have this behaviour but i never see it for hairdressers and estheticians#it can't just be the ones i go to
