When I was 14, I had decided I wanted to go back to school with a new hairstyle. I was raking my brain for something I haven’t tried yet when I suddenly thought, “Hey, bangs would be totally awesome, no one is doing it!”.I went to my mom with the idea, and even though she told me she wasn’t too sure they’d look nice she would let me get them anyways. My mother wasn’t the parent to tell their kids that they aren’t allowed to freely express themselves.

So far so good, right? Not really. Just because my mother wasn’t all for my decision to get bangs I decided I would get the most obvious bangs anyone could get--Straight cut bangs. That was my first mistake With the decision of getting a haircut comes the appointment, and due to tight budgeting I went to a really cheap hair salon that charged my mother a little under 20 dollars. That was my second mistake.

The appointment was going great until my hair stylist said, “I drank four cups of coffee and my hands are starting to shake a bit” I automatically started to panic, thinking What do you mean your hands are shaking?! There are sCISSORS BY MY EYES! That’s when I heard my mom gasp ever so slightly, and with one fell swoop he cut the rest of my hair on a 45 degree angle. I looked like a six year old got fancy with the office scissors

I went the entire last year of middle school with flat and uneven bangs that would poke me in my right eye and only show my left eyebrow. Not to mention the horrible acne on my forehead I got from the oils. I can’t look at my middle school pictures anymore because I’m automatically reminded of that dark time.

I gave Charlie a haircut for the first time last week, and it didn't go so well so, I had to call in an emergency favor from Emily's( @serenityem ) hair dresser at @jodionasalon to fix my disaster !
