Layerable Beards as Makeup

I converted some of my fave beards into layerable makeup. They can be used on their own, or with other beards in the facial hair category. These are categorized as lipsticks, with custom thumbnails.

The 2 stubbles can be used for a strong or subtle five o’ clock shadow as you adjust the opacity, and the full beard can be used to blend/fill in other beards, especially 3D ones.

Now this hair I actually did do a little of my own retexturing on. Not the braided part (which in my opinion could use a little retexturing too but seemed like too much work), but the unbraided part I retextured using textures from Trapping’s LCN Wildfire conversion (1). Naturally (heh), it comes in Remi’s naturals (and texture), my usual variety of unnaturals (2), and selection of naturals (3), and is sorted with the other short hairs I’ve recolored. Word of warning: this hair has a few transparency issues, and the file sizes are very large.

I kind of... had a little bit of liberty with this prompt, but I hope you still enjoy!

The slam of a closing notebook.

The squeaking of a sliding chair.

The sigh of an exhausted woman.

“Goodnight, Robokitty.”

“Good nyaight! Good nyaight!”

MC giggled softly as she leaned down to stroke the mechanical cat’s head. Even though it lacked any fur, Saeyoung had designed the creature to have a particularly warm surface, so she still derived joy from petting it. Plus, he installed a feature where scratching it between the ears would prompt it to purr. Rather than a mechanical grating sound, the purr that Robokitty emitted was rather natural-sounding. In fact, she almost sounded identical to Elizabeth the 3rd.

MC didn’t want to think about how her boyfriend managed to program that specific sound into their pet.

Her gaze traveled over to the other side of the room, where the mischievous mastermind in question sat hunched over a keyboard, his eyes somehow locked simultaneously onto all three screens and the numbers and letters rushing across them, but also onto the can of Dr. Pepper by his right hand. Somehow he managed to pick it up perfectly, without ever bumping into it or tipping it over.

“Goodnight, Robokitty,” MC repeated, adding a little emphasis on the “night” aspect. However, her attention wasn’t even on the confused little pet, who meowed another cheerful, “Good nyaight!”

Her eyes were locked onto that familiar fire-red fluffball on the other end of the room. “Won’t you wish Saeyoung a good night, too?” she asked.

The cat just tilted its head to the side before scurrying off to its bed in the corner.

“I guess it’s up to me, then,” MC whispered, and with a grunt she heaved herself up and out of her chair. Carefully she tiptoed over to his side of the room, not wanting to disturb him. As she crept over, she kept flickering her gaze from her boyfriend to his clock. Her lower lip jutted out slightly as she caught sight of the time; how much longer was he going to stay up?

More importantly, how much longer did he intend for her to stay up waiting for him?

Finally she was standing directly behind his chair—a far nicer one than hers, she might add, like the type that elite gamers used—and he still hadn’t acknowledged her presence. A mild twinge of irritation prickled inside her chest; she couldn’t understand any of the information flashing across his screen, but apparently it was far more enthralling than she was.

‘He told me he quit hacking,’ she thought, and a dark thought began to whisper from the back recesses of her mind. ‘What if he started working for another agency?’

He would never put the two of them at risk like that… right?

“Saeyoung,” she purred, and in one fluid motion she leaned over the back of his chair and cupped her hands over his eyes. “Guess who.”

His vision obstructed, Saeyoung had no choice but to stop his fervent typing and clicking. “Hmm,” he mused, and he reached up to tap his chin as though he were deep in thought. “Maid Vanderwood, are you here to take away my empty cans and bags of chips?”

Laughter poured forth from MC’s lips, and she shook her head. “I know Vanderwood isn’t your maid,” she pointed out. “Try again.”

“Hmmm,” Saeyoung dragged out his thoughtful hum, keeping her in suspense. He was clearly enjoying this as much as she was, if not more so. “Yoosung, who finally figured out I hacked into his LOLOL account to transfer his Scale of Rainbow Wyvern into my inventory?”

So that’s what he was doing. Some of the tension that had been holding her chest in a vice grip finally loosened up. “I’m cuter than Yoosung,” she protested.

“Prove it,” Saeyoung teased. “He’s pretty cute, you know.”

“Saeyouuuung,” MC groaned, and she lowered her head to rest her chin atop his messy locks. “Good nyaight, good nyaight,” she meowed, trying to imitate Robokitty.

“No no, I programmed Robokitty to sleep at this hour, so… Oh! I know who this is!” the hacker exclaimed at last. He reached up and clamped his hands around MC’s, catching her by surprise. She let out a soft yelp as he tilted his head back, causing her to nearly fall flat on top of him.

That… seemed to be exactly what he wanted.

While she was struggling to catch her balance, he pushed his lips forward and gave her a quick peck on the nose. “You’re an angel!” Saeyoung announced. “To thank me for my devotion to my goddess!”

“Your goddess?” MC tried to wriggle free from Saeyoung’s grip, but he just held onto her hands even tighter than he did before. “I thought you were Catholic, Mr. Luciel Choi.”

Saeyoung narrowed his eyes at her and then clasped his hands (and thus hers) together. “Luciel Choi was a Catholic, but Saeyoung is a devout follower of a unique goddess,” he clarified. “The goddess who takes him up to cloud nine, beyond the moon and all the way up to the space station! The one, the only, the mighty…” His voice grew louder and louder until he inhaled deeply, as if preparing to shout the name of the goddess he revered.

“Microsoft!”

“That’s not a goddess!” MC whined, and she took advantage of Saeyoung’s momentary fit of laughter to pull herself away. “Fine, then. You stay up praying to Microsoft, while Aphrodite goes to bed alone.”

That caught his attention. “The goddess of love and beauty, heading to bed alone?” He slowly spun around in his chair, and his golden eyes carried a glimmer of playfulness in their depths. “Now that won’t do.”

“Good nyaight,” MC mewed simply, flicking her hair behind her shoulder as she strode off.

Before she reached the bed on her own, though, a large weight dropped on her, tackling her onto the mattress and laughing gleefully as she yelped in surprise. “I guess I can turn in a little early. Yoosung will thank me.”

Yoosung wasn’t the only one who was going to be thanking him that night.

A few things:

If you want them to look anything like the picture, please make sure you download the recommended CC above. You don’t have to, of course, and experimenting with different skins is all part of the fun, but just don’t expect them to look the same...

I haven’t listed clothing or accessories because that’s personal preference. Neither have I mentioned anything make up related because I have far too many installed and most are without proper thumbnails so I couldn’t tell you even if I wanted to. I tend to stick to EA eyeliners, Tsminh’s blushes, and SClub’s eyelashes, oh, and a whole lot of Tifa!

I love using sliders so my sims may well be slider heavy. I have most sliders and highly recommend that you download everything by OEM. You should also check out Simtanico’s extremely comprehensive list of sliders (last updated August 2020).

Not sure if you need this but my body multiplier is set at 5 and 3 for the face.

Due to the level of customisation I’m not sure if these can be considered base sims, but they are sims you can use however way you like, I honestly don’t mind. Okay, I think that's it. I hope you enjoy!!

Kitty Trouble

It had been a bad day. All night he’d been striving on a new project but had no ideas. Frustrated and furious with himself he’d gone out into the town hoping to clear his head before he had to explain to his parents why he hadn’t got a new gadget he’d promised. So of course he’d run into Noodle Boy’s posse. And even with all his bravado, he’d known he wasn’t going to win this fight. Until something went unexpectedly right.

Back in his lab Red Son let out a maniacal laugh. Despite everything, everything, he had managed to capture one of Noodle Boy’s precious crew! A thing that he had absolutely meant to do. Now he only had to create the perfect trap and he would be rid of the Noodle Boy once and for all!

“Mroww?” said the blue cat that he’d totally meant to steal by luring it into his cycle with food that had absolutely been intentionally placed there and not because he’d dropped it when he’d stumbled upon Noodle Boy’s crew while having a nice lunch.

“You will do nicely for bait,” he said to the cat, who was licking its paw. “I just need the perfect trap!” He wandered around his workshop looking for inspiration. “Should I place you in a high place and set the traps below? Or on the ground with surrounding traps?” He began to pace around his workshop as the cat finished licking himself and moved off to finish the rest of Red Son’s lunch. “Hanging design would work for a high place, and it’s always a classic. Then again, there’s more diversity in ground level traps. Allows for a little more flexibility and theme. Fires on brand for me but so is tech, but recently I’ve used that a lot…��� he turned to see the cat now batting at an ancient piece of tech he’d been working on called a computer mouse. Hmm. Mice, cats… “How about a giant mouse trap? Oh I like that. Simple, effective with the right bait, and just slightly ironic. Are…are you even listening to me???”

Mo was not, in fact, listening to Red Son. Instead he, now bored with the computer mouse, was happily focused on chasing some real mice….

…. out of his workshop!!! Why that sneaky little…

He grabbed the cat and hoisted it into the air. “Look here you,” he said, “you better do as I say, or I will chain you to the wall.”

“Mrrw?” said the cat.

“I will,” he said and dropping the cat into his arms, locking the door, and running through his organized (yes really) materials for some rope. As soon as Mo was settled in his eyes he started to purr. It was soothing and Red Son could feel his eyelids starting to flutter. He rubbed his eyes and glanced down at the peaceful cat in his arms, calm as could be until it saw the rope.

And Red Son found himself holding a slithering eel instead of a furry cat. It squirmed and thrashed around until he found himself dropping the rope before he could get it attached to the collar.

“Fine!” he said as the cat escaped his arms and made a desperate bid for freedom. “Sticking you on a leash wouldn’t be dramatic enough anyways! I’m going to put you in actual handcuffs!”

Mo settled down on the other side of the room and started licking its paws again. He glanced up at Red Son innocently before leaping onto his table and batting off his tools.

Red Son growled and stalked over. The cat had a point. He didn’t have any cat sized handcuffs. He picked up the dropped tools and smiled to himself. Not yet.

Red Son settled down at his work bench and began to work.

Mo weaved around the legs but when he was unable to get Shouty Demon’s attention he turned to the room around them. Finding a door he mewed to be let out. This worked with his person. But  Shouty Demon did not even raise his head. Mo tried curling around his legs again.

Red Son reached down to absently scratch the cat’s head. He’d need a lighter material, something the cat could actually lift without too much damage too itself, he wasn’t a monster, but heavy enough to not snap easily should others try to rescue it.

With Shouty Demon clearly going to be of no help Mo turned to other ways to open the door. First he tried pawing at it, and when that failed he turned to rolling some of the contraptions in the room towards it to see if one of them would force the door open.

And he’d need some way to measure the cat’s little paws, but with Mo not cooperating, he’d need another way. He could make it adjustable…or he could design a robot cat to practice with.

Mo managed to get his teeth on a sheet covering some old inventions. With the right amount of force he was able to pull the sheet off, dislodging the junk on top of it and sprawling it all over the floor. Mo leapt between the discarded inventions, happily employing his earlier strategy of tossing them at the door, now with more unstable options.

Yes, a robot cat would be an excellent aid. It would need to be about the size of Mo to fulfill its purpose, perhaps with a personality programmed in to it. He was sure he had some old AI tech somewhere….

There was a minor explosion as one of the contraptions Mo had been playing with fired off a round. Shouty Demon didn’t even look up but Mo hissed before remembering his training. Time to comfort the frightened person far from the loud noise that had left a small hole in the door. He began to purr as Shouty Demon reached down to him to run his hands through his fur.

…he wasn’t sure he could replicate the feel of the fur but who needed fur when he could get a nice metal? And he could probably program it to purr too.

Now done with comforting the person in the room. Mo turned back to getting out of the door. This time by climbing onto the shelves and knocking down anything he could push over to the door. One of the screwdrivers rolled over to Shouty Demon who picked it up and kept working on a pile of scraps. Another one shot off with another loud noise just as the door opened.

Yes, this new robot cat would not only be able to purr but stimulate cat behaviors. Maybe even more. Should he design a transformation?

The figure on the other side ducked to avoid the shooting projectile, a hard task with its bulky frame. “Mo!” he cried and once he realized it was his person, Mo leapt to him excitedly.

“Mmnm,” Red Son said to a noise that was probably unimportant, at least in comparison with his work… He could see if this robo kitty could be a spy. Trying to create a lifelike robot would be a fun challenge for him.

His Person turned to Shouty Demon. “We’ll be going now,” he said curtly. Oh he was angry. He shouldn’t be angry. That was what Mo was for.

“That’s nice,” Red Son said. Something glassy for the eyes, and what if he got some fabric for the fur? Or maybe some cat hairs since they shed so much…

Mo pawed at his person in confusion, who looked down at him and then over at the oblivious Shouty Demon. He sighed. “Well I guess since you’re okay,” he said to Mo. Then he helped the cat pick up the discarded sheet and wrap it around the oblivious young demon. “We’ll be going now,” he said.

“Have fun,” said Red Son, his robokitty was starting to take shape in his mind and in his hands. He hadn’t had this much fun in a while.

Later Red Son would wake up and realize he let the cat escape. Later he would display his newly built robokitty spy to his parents who, while interested in the spy technology, were less than impressed with the kitty theme despite its clear advantage at camouflage. But for now he worked happily on the first bit of real inspiration he’d had in a while before falling to sleep wrapped in an old sheet.

And later, after he’d shown his idea to his parents, he’d still have robokitty purring softly as he worked on a new project.

LN Anniversary Extravaganza!

So, our server’s one year anniversary is coming up! Be afraid. The anniversary is ~April 20. Our currently announced event ends on the 17th, and there is heavy speculation re: a hell event. More on that later!

Game Update

The game will update April 11! There will be new outfits, new furniture, etc. Momo will have a crafting quest for Zashiki, which means Zashiki and Tengu will be part of the returning outfits! From CN, they will be craftable, but the irritating kind of craftable you have to do in order. You will have to have all of Zashiki to craft the first piece of Tengu.

Time Diary

It’s that weird book, y’all! Make sure you’ve got all an S on all stages of a chapter (maiden & princess) and it will give you backgrounds from the Time Diary! Eventually this will also give us free crafting recipes, presumably as a way to keep new players from total despair. Fun fact: this is how I got the race suit recipes in CN!

New Pavilion

It’s the het pavilion! It will open on the 11th with a 70% discount until the 27th. I have seen a lot of people claiming they’ll only use the free pulls because it will be a permanent addition and I think they’re crazy. Like, if you’re ambivalent about the suits or have crazy good gacha luck, more power to you! Save your diamonds. I am not and do not, so I’m planning at least four 10-pulls while I can afford them.

Lucky Bags

Weird and complicated cumulative recharge-ish thing! When you buy diamonds, you’ll get “stars”, which you can exchange for a “lucky bag”. In the bag will be one of five suits. The dragon angel suit is guaranteed to be the fifth and final bag, other than that, it’s “random” - possibly actually random, possibly “hell event node random” where one out of twenty will get something different. Stars only come with diamond recharges, not daily or user shop packs, and bags will apparently be priced juuuuuuust above the recharge tiers.

DON’T FREAK OUT. Speculation has the full set of five bags/suits sitting at $50-$70 but this is an estimate from CN, which means it’s being converted from what a thing cost in another currency and also it’s not really the same thing but it’s close so that’s good enough. NO. Do not freak out about the cost until we know the cost. (If the cost is actually $70, I will wholeheartedly join in freaking the fuck out, because WHAT.)

(The cute robokitty suit was a CN recharge, and the dragon angel is a world premiere, so: not the same as whichever CN event they’re getting cost estimates from.)

Postcards

Log in every day and a character will send you a diamond postcard containing 50-88 diamonds! You will also receive postcards when buying diamonds which you can send to friends and association members! Hopefully they also buy diamonds and send you a postcard! I am not a huge fan of this because I don’t trust people to send me postcards! I have done a similar thing in another game and sent a bunch of currency into the void apparently!

Race Event

This event will start the 11th and end the 17th! It ends right before the anniversary! Suspicious!

It will be an event map that requires no stamina, apparently. I am going all in for Blue Fantasy’s hair and makeup and then IDK. I will do another post on the event outfits as seen in CN.

Hell Event

THEY ARE GIVING US SO MANY DIAMONDS AND IT FEELS LIKE A TRAP.

People are bandying around different possibilities for a hell event and it started freaking me out - I saw people genuinely worrying that their 8K stashes weren’t going to be big enough -  and I had to take a Big Step Back.

I do think there will be a hell event, but that it will be one of the small hell events, because

1) The big ones have a lot of story spoilers. I know a lot of players don’t pay attention to the story, but as I’ve said before, Shit Gets Real around chapter 15. We’ re not going to do an event about a war we don’t understand featuring characters we haven’t met. Leaving aside whether they’d spoil their own shit like that, we would be more willing to spend tons of diamonds if we were already emotionally invested in the characters/events.

(I am a little more worried than I was, because the “lantern girl” was actually a future story character named Yue.)

2) Unless they’re going to do a full month-long event for it, they just won’t have time for one of the big ones. We have Race until the 17th, which gives us a ten day window before the lucky bag recharge event ends on the 27th. I don’t think they would do a huge hell event recharge back to back with that, but when have the LN devs ever behaved the way we expected?

3) One of the things pushing people toward expecting a big hell event is the sheer amount of diamonds we’re getting. I think the uncharacteristic generosity may be some kind of damage control re: the ranking event/how it was handled/how soon after it we’re getting a hell event.

TL:DR

It’s going to be a busy fucking month where you’ll get a bunch of diamonds only to see them immediately torn from your hands one way or another.

Question time! 1. what is olive's favorite animal? 2. if she had to give each dethklok member a pet (I know you mentioned giving skwisgaar a fish), what would she give them and why? 3. does she main anyone in smash or mario kart?

1. Though she loves all animals, she's especially fond of the creepier ones, like spiders and scorpions, but most of all snakes! They're so varied and interesting, and feel so cool to touch!

She's going to end up with quite a few more pets, too. Right now she only has Apophis🐍, but shes going to adopt a tarantula, hamster, and a day gecko as well

2. So she actually is going to end up giving each Dethklok member a pet- but not in the way you might think.

Once she finds out that the band has tried to keep a couple pet cats before, but found that Mordhaus isn't exactly a good place for them with all the accidents that occur, she takes it upon herself to build them highly realistic robotic kitties as Christmas presents using a design her younger sister created. Nathan gets a solid black domestic short hair, Pickles a big, chunky orange tom cat, Murderface a Maine Coon, Toki a Himalayan, Skwisgaar a Siamese, and Charles a Russian Blue.

Please let me know if you guys want to know more about the robokitties and their designs and personalities and names because I have been dying to talk about them!

3. Yes absolutely. For Mario Cart, she's Shy Guy, unless playing a version he isn't an option, in which case Yoshi is her second. For Smash, Cloud for the more recent releases, with Link as a backup.

Robo Kitty CC Rescue

Robo Kitty’s has not been active for several years and now her site Kittyklan.com has been purged and everything has gone- except for her Mod The Sims Page here: http://modthesims.info/m/657501

I am a huge fan of Robo Kitty’s work and was extremely sad to see almost all of it disappear. So I have gathered together as much of her CC that was not already on MTS as I could and thanks to @baufive @thepathofnevermore @raptorcock @doka-chan and @simsmidgen combined with what I already had I think I have almost everything. It is difficult to tell though seeing as her site is inaccessible. I am definitely missing some of her T-Shirts that had logos.

I have gathered or created as many images as I could but these are by no means comprehensive. For example I only found one pattern image and as far as make-up and beards go I have no idea- I haven’t used that particular CC of hers so I don’t know what it’s supposed to look like so use your own judgement when downloading.

I have the greatest respect for T.O.U.s and would never break them without very careful consideration. As Robo Kitty has not been active since about 2012 when she was expecting a baby and as far as I can tell has not returned, plus the purging of her site, I have come to the conclusion that circumstances allow for this archiving of her stuff. Of course if Robo Kitty is still active elsewhere and I have missed it or she re-appears and is not happy with this upload of her stuff I will delete the files immediately. If anyone is still in contact with her please do let her know.

I have uploaded everything to Sims File Share and you have several options. I have put EVERYTHING in one file and then also separated them into categories to save you trawling through tons of files just to find a couple of hairs or objects or whatever. *Please note that the zipped files include some images so you have an idea of what you are downloading which makes them appear larger than they actually are so don’t be put off by the full size before you open it!*

Also do please note that her naughty books/ magazines come in a few flavours so it’s up to you what you choose to download- some of it is explicit.

Also the “junk” meshes for boys comes in medium or large (only download one version as they will conflict) and make sure you download the texture AND the mesh. They only work on Base Game underwear and trunks.
