not starting the daily counter yet, i haven't drawn much since like middle school and my faces keep coming out wonky so i want to get re-used to it first. have a dainsleif hair study for now

bit of a block today since I couldnt figure out the compositions for one of my bigger pieces so here is just me trying to map out crowley's hair for different looks

extra notes: manbun crowley is by fair my favourite but let-down shoulder length is the easiest to see how his curls fall

Those of you who followed along with my Voiceplay Visuals posts, especially the earlier ones, will know that on the odd occasion, I would include what I call a "Geoff Hair Study", where, with the powers of my stylus and my Sketchbook Pro app, I would do a fairly simple outlining of a screencap of Geoff, to take a look at the length and style of his hair in the video (and, where possible, I would do a few colour-picks of his hair as well, because the colour/shade of it seems to be ever-changing and ever-dynamic).

Anyway, now that I'm currently done with Voiceplay Visuals for the time being (and almost done with Voiceplay-Adjacent Visuals for the time being), I thought I'd make a compilation post of all the "hair studies" I've done! Some have been included in Voiceplay Visuals posts, some haven't, and one is actually even different to the one I included for my post on that video (because I decided to do a do-over using a different screencap).

Is it perfect? Of course not, but I had fun with it anyway. (Bonus points: can you tell which video each image came from? 👀)

I said I’d do hair studies. Found a pic I liked and chose a color I got a lot of. Added different colors to block out the light and shadows. This was my first study of the day and I’m definitely gonna have to do more so that will keep me moving. Won’t be posting any digital art the rest of this week, with family.
