I met this super talented artist in my Latin class today. We sketched on a piece of paper together, mine are the left, hers are the right. And I just have to say she has such a pretty art style. It's super flowy and expressive and I can't help but admire it.

Just read a fanfiction where the guy kept calling y/n nicknames in Russian

I dont speak Russian but I speak Bulgarian so I understood a couple words and I just want to clarify something

If you're character is speaking a foreign language you don't understand, a very good way of getting around it is by them saying a full sentence in english and then the nickname in they're own language. For example,

"Wow that's so wonderful (gorgeous)"

Words like gorgeous and pretty and beautiful work wonderfully here. Thats what this particular author did which I think worked perfectly.

Words that DO NOT work however are words like "baby" or "baby girl/boy"

It's not the same cute nickname it is in english. It's used in the same way you would the word infant 💀 (just a little less formal). The only time I can see someone refer to them in that way other than them being an actual baby is if it's their child/grandchild. So it's KINDA WEIRD so have that word brought up in a romantic scene lol.
