He stands in front of your locker for a concerning amount of time, fiddling with the note in his hand as he ponders the pros and cons of confessing to you.

Pro: you’ll say yes.

Con: you’ll say no, laugh at him, dump your milk on his head and walk away with no regard.

Koushi doesn’t know if he should risk it. After all, you have known each other for years, who would he be to ruin such a stable friendship with feeling that may or may not be reciprocated?

“Koushi?” Your voice snaps him back to reality, and he fists his note in his hand sharply. “You’ve been standing in front of my locker for the past five minutes. Everything okay?”

He says nothing. His mouth feels cottony and dry, and when he tried to choke out words, they only come out as squeaks. His brain decides to shove the note at you, his cheeks blazing with nerves and his hands trembling as he holds it. You smile softly and take the folded note from him, unfolding it and flicking your eyes up at him.

“Koushi,” you begin, and he could throw up right now. This is it, the rejection, the heartbreak, the betrayal- “I know.”

You what. “You what?”

You snicker, “I know; Daichi told me.”

Traitor. Koushi sighs and scrubs his face with his hands, “I’m going to kill him.”

“Dont- he saved our friendship,” you say, smiling sweetly. “I thought you didn’t want to be friends anymore, with how you were avoiding me. I was so hurt, until he told me.”

He swallows thickly- you thought he didn’t want to be friends? That’s the last thing he wanted! Especially if it was hurting you, and-

“Reading the confession.”

“Dont!” He whines, making a mad dash for the letter, which you expertly flick out of his grip. “I didn’t know you knew, it’s so embarrassing!”

He isn't the most touchy guy, yet his words do all the work for him. "Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, either way, what're you gonna do about it?" You smiled and rolled your eyes.

"Take you to bed myself because someone is clearly tired and needs sleep," the former setter stood up, setting down his book and walking over to you

"Tired? I'm not tired," you said, making a face.

"Yes." Koushi wrapped his arms around your waist. "You." He pressed a kiss to the nape of your neck. "Are." With that, he rested his chin on your shoulder.

"If I am, which I'm not, I still have to finish dinner," you scoffed, continuing to stir the broth.

Your gray-haired boyfriend sighed, giving your waist a gentle squeeze. "Sweetheart, darling, loveliest, you're stunning, and I could never say anything bad about you, but those dark circles are telling me otherwise."

You huff, pausing and setting the whisk on the counter. "Koooo, I promise I'm fine. I've just been a little bit busy, okay? There's the problems with the bank, my parents, I have lessons, my clients, I can't just not answer the phone, and-" you cut yourself off when you feel a tear slide down your face. Ah, shit. Maybe you were more stressed than you realize.

Koushi's eyes fill with alarm for a moment, before his gaze softens. He turns you around in his arms to cup your face with his hands, stroking the tear away with his thumb. "Aw, honey..."

You reach your hand up in frustration, harshly wiping at your eye to stop yourself from crying. Koushi tenderly takes your hand in his, lacing your fingers together. "No, don't do that my love," though the words sound scolding, his tone is mild. He moves one of his arms back to your waist, pulling you against him. He leans down, softly kissing the top of your forehead, and the action makes you want to sob.

He adjusts the two of you so he can turn the stove off, before wrapping his other arm around your shoulders and burying his nose in your hair. The two of you just stand there, you nestled against him, in a peaceful silence while you quietly cry.

"I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me," you murmur, breaking the silence.

"Ah-uh, no apologies my love, it's alright. You clearly needed that," he pulled his face back, brushing your hair from your face and looking affectionately into your eyes. "Do you wanna talk about it?"

"You're right, I'm- I am tired, you're right, I'm sorry, I just. I can't afford to rest, I have to keep up," you start crying as soon as you start explaining.

"Hey, it's alright, slow down a bit. C'mon honey, you're working yourself up," he strokes his thumb on your cheek, the action a stark contrast to the rampage in your mind. He pauses for a second before asking, "keep up with who? Is someone stressing you out? I hope I'm not."

"No one!" You say, surprising yourself with the urgency. "Um, no one I guess. I'm just. No one has, but I feel like I need to. And you're so busy all the time, I can't slack off and make you do all the work and pick up after me all the time, I can't let myself slip up and make more work for you-"

Koushi puts a finger to your lips, effectively shushing you. "You're not making more work for me by taking a break, especially one that you need. If you need to take some time to rest and catch up on much needed sleep, it doesn't inconvenience me. Even if I'm taking care of you, it's not work. I enjoy taking care of you. Won't you let me?"

Now it was the morning of Christmas Eve, it was about 7:00 AM now? 8:30 AM? You didn’t know and you didn’t care, all that matters to you now is that you’re getting to sleep in like you deserve. you set your pencil down semi-anxiously, chewing on your lower lip in anticipation for your darling boyfriend to come home. he always offered to tutor his students every after school, and he also always offered to help the other teachers with their workloads, even during the busiest times of the month, when everyone else was supposed to be enjoying the beginning of their winter break and spending time with their loved ones.

you knew you could never truly hold a candle to the service and kindness sugawara had to give everybody he loved, including you, but your hands and heart were much more skilled in the field of arts; specifically drawing, and you hoped that by this self portrait of his that you poured all your free time and boundless effort to, he'd find some joy in it, some appreciation that was a mere semblance of what you truly wanted to thank him for.

when the front door opened, you immediately rushed down the stairs, your hands behind your back, carrying the portrait behind your back. sugawara took off his brown loafers and undid his scarf, hanging it up on the coat rack, exhaustedly smiling at you. his eyes still shone with love, even if he didn't say anything or didn't have the energy tonight to shower you with love like he usually does... you could tell, he was more than happy to be in the presence of you, his lover.

"how are you, dear?" he asked you in a gentle voice, walking over to you, kissing your forehead gently. you felt your whole face warm up, and you stammered out that you had a gift for him. shyly handing him the portrait you drew of him, sugawara grinned wider, his cheeks getting pinker by the minute. he thanked you, and gently took it from your hands that were covered in pencil lead and a variety of shades and colors.

seeing the portrait, sugawara couldn't help but smile even more. he always did have the prettiest smile, you really wanted to capture that sweetness in your portrait. "honey..." sugawara murmured, admiring the portrait and looking into your bashful eyes. he chuckled and kissed your nose, wrapping his arms around you as he clutched the beautiful portrait you made of him in his hands. "you made me look really wonderful... thank you," "you're always wonderful, koushi," you corrected him, smiling yourself, hugging him back hesitantly.

"it doesn't matter, darling, i love every part of you, no matter how messy you think you are; it's beautiful how creative you can be, love," sugawara mutters, kissing the side of your head in complete and utter adoration and gratefulness to you for your lovely gift. the snowflakes fell outside as you and sugawara embraced, warming each other up as the landscape outside became blanketed in fluffy white snow, with the inside of your home glowing and effervescent orange and red, the warmth of each other's touch and body heat sufficing for the little while you two held each other so intimately.

it was the perfect way to relax and let the holiday spirit be felt within sugawara, he couldn't ask for anything more perfect.

SUGAWARA orders a star map of the sky from the night you met. he points out the different constellations you can see (that he had to look up and ask for help spotting) and lets you trace over it with your fingers. he gets close, his face hovering near your shoulder, before saying, “you might say it’s because you’re a star.” you turn to see him grinning. “don’t talk to me,” you say, unable to hide the smile on your face. “what?” he teases, wrapping his arms around you. “i’m just saying i’m over the moon for you.” “oh my god,” you laugh. hearing it, koushi wonders if he could fill your room with stars with the list of other dates he thought of choosing.

KENMA gets two custom plushies made of your characters from your favourite co-op game. you guys had played it for so long, even before you started dating, that it was a no-brainer for him. his original plan was letting you have your character and keep his own; he thought you’d love to keep your plush yourself. so he’s taken by surprise when you think the opposite and reach for his. “do you think we could keep each other’s? so it’s like you’re there with me?” he blinks and stares at you. but then his gaze softens and he nods, taking yours into his arms. “that’s a good idea.” “promise you’ll keep it safe and happy?” it's a half-joke, and kenma huffs a laugh before playing along. “it—i, yeah, of course.”

IWAIZUMI buys touch bracelets and heart lockets so you know he’s thinking of you, even while he’s away. you set them up together, trying out the different features despite being a foot apart. “i’m gonna go to the washroom, tell me if you can feel it,” you say quickly. hajime watches you pad away with a smile, the smile growing when he notices the bracelet works. it wasn’t like he expected them to not work, but it was relieving to have you kiss him and know his gift was worth it. the first night he goes to sleep with them on, he can’t stop himself from holding the locket, set up with your heartbeat, up to his face. he’s only glad you aren’t there so you couldn’t watch him roll over to smush his face into the pillow, another smile plastered on his lips.

AKAASHI hands you a jar of hand folded stars and hearts. each one has its own note, written whenever he had a message or wanted to remember something. they range from “hi, i love you” to “thanks for paying for lunch <3” to “4/16 first sleepover :).” he scratches the back of his ear while you open it. “i couldn’t choose between stars or hearts, so i hope you don’t mind having both. the ones at the bottom look a little worse than the others, i was still figuring it out.” he laughs and cringes a little, remembering how he looped the same tutorial at least 4 times the first day. keiji’s own heart flutters when you smile and hug him, whispering a thank you into his ear. he’s glad he still has extra paper at home—maybe he can make more for you later.

SEMI makes you a custom cd, including a cover he designs himself. he picked out his favourite songs that remind him of you and the ones that the both of you played while together. if you looked in his desk drawer, you’d find all the different cover designs he thought of and tried out—he couldn’t tell you how many practice trials he did before perfecting it. “i also made it into a playlist since, you know, you won’t always have something to play a cd with you. you can scan the code on the back, i traced it and made sure it works.” he relaxes when you say the titles look good, and later that night when you text to say you loved it, eita lets out what he thinks might be the deepest sigh of his life, finally able to rest.

SUNA teases you, passing a t-shirt that has his face on it with “i’m he’s” on top. he snorts and tries to compose himself at your reaction, asking, “what? you don’t like it?” it’s then that he unzips his jacket and shows you his matching one, and with a wavering voice says, “but i got this one, too.” “god, rintarou.” you throw yours at him and laugh. the both of you take a few photos with them on, mimicking different memes you find. but suna looks softly at you afterwards. “you didn’t really think that was all i got, did you?” you can stare as he pulls out a box from under his bed, filled to the brim with different gifts and food for you. he lets you look for yourself, the only gift that he gives personally being matching lockets he found. when you open the both of them, there’s a photo of the other inside.

SAKUSA commissions art of the both of you using his favourite photo. you could recognize it from anywhere—the two of you were cuddled under a blanket outside, and you could see the warm sunset behind you. it was the one he set as his lockscreen all those months ago, and never changed since. the artist he commissioned was one of your favourites, and he even got them to write a thank you message along with it. your eyes light up when you see it, and you give him a confused smile. “'omi, how did you get a commission? their spots fill up so quickly.” kiyoomi shrugs, sitting down next to you to look over it again. “i’m fast, i guess.” he wouldn’t tell you about the reminders he set for their commissions opening, or how he got the help of his teammates either. he didn’t see the need to when you hug him, whispering “i love you, thank you.” in his ear.

Sugawara is probably the one who tries the hardest to get new people to feel comfortable with his friends. Especially if he sees you're a bit quiet at first, he'll go the extra mile to make you feel included and to let you know you're welcome in the group and he's there for you

Once you two got closer and you felt comfortable enough to be your usual loud self around him, he probably started liking you even more

Once he started getting a bit of a crush on you, he was always trying to find ways to spend time with you. If you study/work, he would pick you up afterwards with your fav drink/treat, or he would bring you food if you take lunch breaks

He's always there for you, offering you earbuds or a hug or even just covering your ears if there's a loud noise and he notices it makes you uncomfortable. He'll just stay with you however long it takes for you to feel okay.

If there's something that guy is good at, it's praise and compliments. He's really good at making people feel valued and loved in general, but if he's in love with you? He definitely takes it to the next level. A day rarely passes by without him praising you in some way, even if it's simply calling you beautiful or talented. He makes sure to give you some sort of compliment everyday and you know his compliments are always genuine

He probably thinks it's super cool that you do archery and he often goes with you just to sit and watch you practice. Bullied!Reader

Being the caring person he is, he noticed changes in your behavior almost immediately after it started.

(For physically bullied reader)

Once he sees the bruises, he can finally confirm his theories about what has been happening, but he doesnt bring it up just yet.

He wastes no time trying to subtly hint to you that he already knows, and if you don’t realise, he probably gets a tad bit annoyed.

Eventually he just confronts you in the hallway or something after classes and just casually asks why you always have so many bruises and are always so down.

If you try to avoid the subject, he tells you that he knows what’s happening, and he wants to know who did it.

If you still deny that anything is happening, he tells you that you don’t have to be scared to tell his because he just wants to help.

Once you finally admit it, he asks you again who it is or what group of people it is. Once you tell him that, he immediately wants to go to tell a teacher.

If you are afraid that the bullying will get worse if you tell a teacher what is happening, Suga just tells you that you have nothing to worry about and that it’ll help to tell an adult.

If you still tell him no, he just sighs and gives in, with a compromise of course. He has to accompany you from class to class to make sure nothing happens to you.

He will then start accompanying you from 1st period to 2nd and 3rd and so forth before he goes to his own classes. He also accompanies you to and from club activities and extracurriculars.

The passive aggressive glares at the person or group of people bullying you are probably a bit of an astronomical number.

He realises how down you’ve been and the changes in your mood. He notices how you are more irritable than usual too.

Eventually, after seeing how you’ve started speaking down about yourself, he connects the dots in his head and is just like kinda wondering if his theory about this is crazy.

He tries to get more evidence to support his theory (just to feel better about asking you about it.)

Eventually he just mans up and asks you about it.

You tell him about it a little and he immediately asks you who has been belittling you and insulting you.

You tell him and he is fucking pissed, but it’s his usual ‘stay calm’ type of mad.

He probably tries to tell you that none of what they’re saying about you is true and that you’re a beautiful/handsome person. He showers you with affection to try to make you feel better about yourself.

A few days later he checks back in and asks if it has gotten any better. When you say no he goes through the compliments and telling you that their belittling isn’t true again before going straight towards a teacher or the counselor.

If you try to hold him back he just looks at you weird.

When you tell him you’re afraid they’ll belittle you for telling on them he does stop since that is a reasonable concern, but then just goes right back to what he was going to do.

He tells the teacher or counselor he was walking towards and afterwards assures you that he won’t let the belittling happen again if they try to insult you because they got in trouble.

Oh gods, if you’re purposely misgendered, he will not hesitate to passive aggressively say “Um, actually Y/n’s pronouns are (insert pronouns here)”

He feels bad whenever you have dysphoria because he knows how much it must suck but can’t truly empathize because he’s never been through it. Suga just wants you to be happy and it hurts his heart to see you in pain over something you can’t even control.

Has tons of ways to distract you from your dysphoria. He will buy you food, he will give you hugs if you want them, he will lend you his clothes (if you’re a trans guy.
