Haikyuu Chapter 349: Low-Altitude Flight

REFLECTION:

The match is on. Karasuno is trailing a point behind and Sawamura tells Asahi straight up to his face that he isn't going to baby him: you miss shots sometimes. Deal with it. The end of the chapter notes that the First Years (Kageyama, Hinata and Tsukishima) are in rare form and are the only ones that can save this match...which Hebi Boy points out that means the whole team's in a bad spot.

Predictions for Karasuno vs Kamomedai match

I’ve been rereading Haikyuu from the start and here are some predictions and expectations of how I think things will turn out given the characters and situation we have going on

1. Karasuno will win the 2nd set.

2. Asahi’s backstory is surely going to be revealed, considering the fact that he and Suga are the only characters to have their personal backstory and motivations behind playing volleyball unexplored.

3. I also expect Kageyama getting injured or too tired (considering how much exhausted he would be after the mental gymnastics from Nekoma and the nasty blocking from Kamomedai for an entire couple of sets - an injury flag can also put a detriment on them further advancing in Nationals - stopping at Top 4, given they win the Kamomedai match, which I think they will. Of course, Suga will be the one most likely subbed in. 

4. In chapter 22 called Idolization, we see how Hinata looks up to Karasuno’s aces - the little giant and Asahi. There’s also a mention of how the LG looked exhausted but he kept jumping on and on and because he was fired up, all the others got fired up thinking that they won’t let him shoulder it all - it will be poetic coz the LG is also there and he knows what that’s like. I think this is going to be very important.

5. And this time, Asahi gets his redemption, . He doesn’t fold and kind of ‘awakens??’ somewhat similar to Bokuto where he leaves behind all and any kind of negativity and finds true strength and quiet confidence that may be life-changing for him. 

6. And I think it’s going to be Suga putting up the ball this time. Kageyama subbed out coz he’s tired, Hinata on the sidelines because he’s out of rotation and this will reveal to everyone Karasuno’s REAL strength - that it would have been impossible for them to be standing there without Hinata and Kageyama and the others, but that it does not mean that they can’t hold their own without them and that they have their own strength. It’s gonna be difficult and painful but it’s gonna feel SO good. Plus, I also think this will happen coz our 3rd Years deserve nothing less than the most spectacular send-off. 

7. In a way, I expect Suga and Noya also to get their respective redemptions. Suga stuck to volleyball, stayed in high spirits and kept everyone’s morale up all this time without actually getting to be on the court. He’s earned this and more, and if this does end up happening and someone says it’s ‘unrealistic’ or ‘boo-yeah pLOt aRmoUr is why they won’, I stg I’ll smack you.

8. Like mentioned before, I expect them to win this match. However, even though I think they’re gonna lose after this, it’s very much possible that they end up winning the next match and play Fukurodani in the finals in a direct reflection back to the practice matches in training camp. However, if they do, Fukurodani will win no two ways about it. FUKURODANI WILL WIN NATIONALS

So that’s it ya’ll I’m surprised I’ve done this. I wanted to but I didn’t think I had enough juice to sit down and write it all. bless

Haikyuu 349: The Karasuno 1st year in action together is so incredible and I’m in love ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) (≧∀≦)

Woah woah woah, do you remember the first time Hinata and Kageyama play together as teammates? They played against Tsukishima and Yamaguchi. They were each other’s first rivals in high school volleyball!

Tsukishima was kind of hateful towards the two idiot but dynamic volleyball maniacs, thinking their passion and actions are unreasonable, with a tad of sense of inferiority.

But now, those four, including Yamaguchi with his sharp serves, are working together more efficiently and all become a force to reckon with.

Especially, when comparing how cranky Tsukki was in earlier phase of Haikyuu and this panel in chapter 349 that he stands side by side with the oddball duo with a cool stance, I can’t help but feeling so inspired and proud of them all. I have a soft spot for the enemies-become-friends trope ;)

The three of them look so badass I love it 😆 I somehow wished for this scene many times before. In fact, they did cooperate with others in the past, but mostly in pair (Kage-Hina, Kage-Tsuki, Hina-Tsuki). Once again I have to thank Furudate sensei for actually drawing them teaming up as a trio in an official match!

You let out another sigh as you place another heavy book on the pile of books on the cart you were pushing. Unfortunately for you, there are still students who would still leave the books they took on the table they’d used instead of putting it back to the shelf.

You hit your lower back with your fist, slightly leaning backwards hoping to relieve the soreness that you’re experiencing.

Being one of the library’s student assistant and being one of Date Tech’s boys’ volleyball club’s manager is taking a huge toll on your body.

There are times when you have to tiptoe just to put a book back to its rightful place. Sometimes, it causes strain to your ankle.

There were also instances, as a manager, that you have to keep up with the boys’ practice. You have to either assist them with their practice (read: throwing the ball upwards), or you have to run to and fro to refill their water bottles.

You pushed the cart until you arrive at the bookshelves. The first books you placed on the shelves are those that are within your reach. Then, you paused. Taking a short break to rest your aching legs.

“Do you need help?”

You gasp, your hand was on your chest. “You scared me.”

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to,” Aone briefly responded, bowing at your direction. Then, he stood straight. “Do you need any assistance?”

“Nope. I can do this.” You proceed with your task, with Aone Takanobu trailing behind you like a shadow—a giant one. “Um. . . Is there something I can do for you, Aone-kun?” you ask, facing the giant man in front of you.

He looks away, his left hand tightening its grip around the strap of his bag. Takanobu took a deep breath. “I have something to tell you.”

You raise an eyebrow at him, before smiling. “Oooh~ are you about to profess your undying love for me?” you teased, placing another book back to its place.

“Yes, I am.”

You faced him, stunned with his blunt admittance. “. . .What?”
