One of the most challenging things I’ve had to learn is that healing must be intentional. There is no one golden day that comes and saves you from all your misery. Healing is a practice. You have to decide that it’s what you want to do and actively do it. You have to make a habit out of it. Once I learned that, I only looked back to see how far I came.

I’ve been stuck in this hole of worthlessness and I’m struggling to get out. It’s 100% my own fault and 100% my own responsibility to dig myself out. I just don’t feel like it. I’m tired and I care so much and not at all at the same time.

I'm constantly dissatisfied with my social interactions. I want people to talk to, but by the time I talk to most of them I'm already annoyed. There is this friend group of environmental/labor activists that I knew from a distance in college but they are all so beautifully intertwined in each other's lives and I'm like how do I achieve this?? I just want to live in good community, but that doesn't bode well when society is all about crawling to the top.

What’s wrong with texting first and replying to a text immediately? what’s wrong with calling and telling them you miss them? What’s wrong with showing you care? Take down your pride a notch and be genuine with your feelings.

Ugh I'm such a salty and resentful person. I keep spitefully tracking close friends who have checked in with me and who haven't and thinking about wanting to start over with everything. I feel like everyone is so caught up with their own lives that no one really cares about anyone or makes time to check in. What is the point of having close friends when you can't count on them???
