iy've got a silly headcanon that ford has sun sneezing (thing where bright lights make one sneeze), as well as voluntary double vision and eye blurring. basically just giving him iy weird fucked up eyes haha

no i don’t mind at all! i am NOT rich by any means to be extremely clear. i’m a full time law student and currently not working. i’m actually super stressed about money atm. i just choose to invest in my niche hobbies whereas other people might chose to invest in clothes/a bigger apartment/idk kitchen appliances lol.

i don’t remember exactly how much my we happy few ticket 506 was but i thinkkkk 350 pounds? so about 450 usd. which yeah like. youch that was some money lol. but i got to meet hang out with actors i love and go to a whole list of places i wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. and i had a discount code as a patreon member but was in such a rush i forgot to use it!

it was worth it to me. worth it enough to do again in april when they next one is 😅. and this time i won’t have to pay for my flights myself bc of british airways voucher!

i booked my flights as separate round trips INSERTHOMECITY-JFK (new york) and JFK-LHR (london). and total i think it came to around 600 almost 700? which was over 1k cheaper than my study abroad round trip to get to amsterdam! and why i was so flabbergasted when british airways gave me over 900 dollars in reimbursement for the overbooked flight debacle when my whole trip didn’t even cost that haha.

when i got to london i booked the national express shuttle to get to cambridge for about $45. i could’ve taken the tube and gotten there in about the same amount of time but i knew i was going to be exhausted and not wanting to think about public transportation in a new country. when i went back to london the night before my flight i did use the tube and had no issues w it!

i split a hotel with my friends and paid $250 total for my share, which was cheaper than it would’ve been to make my own arrangements.

i admittedly spent more than i planned on in souvenirs lol i think i got at least one thing from every base/museum we went to. ballpark i think i spent maybe just under $125 on ✨stuff✨.

food wise there was a grocery store right across from my hotel. the first day we ate lunch at the little food stand at thorpe abbotts and the second day we packed lunch. got coffee and a little pastry from gregs (like british dunkin) for breakfast each day, dinner at the RAF pub the first night and fast food dinner on my own when i had to get back to london from cambridge. so didn’t spend a ton on food tbh.

why hello!! Sorry for such a late answer!!

so, I’m a fun little something we call ✨inconsistent✨(sigh) so while I may not be the best person to ask…but here’s things I commonly use color wise (favored art supply dump)

Alchohol ink markers

I use these most, they are a beautiful thing, my favorite are Ohuhu as they are high quality and a much lower price then brands such as Copic. (Can you taste the salt.)

They have less blend ability in comparison to Copic but are overall a much better investment if you ask me! They are great for a more smooth look! Another one I have around that I use for less saturated colors is touch youch youch

I very much prefer brush pens over the chiseled ones, for a paint like experience, and more dynamic application! Again these are just personal preference!

(I have a bad habit of opening ink capsules and painting with ink. I would not necessarily recommend this.)

Watercolor

There’s lots of pretty nice watercolor you can get for a pretty cheap price! The ones I prefer currently are MeiLiang, I got them online for a good price and they are very nice!

That said I do mix around different brands and such, whatever is on hand.

Gel pens

I love gel pens, even if you just have like one or two it’s such a difference!! I love just having white ones for adding little details and such to drawings! You can also get colors if you like! I use the Jellyrollers!

Colored pencils

a lot of people hate colored pencils which I get, but I find them very helpful for detailing (when I have motivation to do so lol) I often use them on top of drawings I’ve layed down a base of alcohol ink with! That way it has a clean base and can add the fun texture and stuff afterwards!! Those smooth looks can be achieved with pencils alone, I often just don’t have time for that :) it’s very fun though, layering is key with pencils

I do very much enjoy prismicolor colored pencils!!! It’s an investment I don’t regret lol, although I’m sure any soft core colored pencils would have the same effect!!

Posca

occasionally I use posca markers for large poster sized drawings, esp for the ink capsules. I like the paint coverage!! That said they can be a pain to work with.

it’s probably not good to be like me and use all of this on sketch paper. (I know. I’m aware that that is psychotic.) but I do normally use sketch paper, getting some multi medium paper might be good if you are interested in paints inks and pencils though, that way you can use it for all of the above :))

Color wise that’s what I commonly mix and match with, when it comes to pens my FAVORITE pens to sketch or do lineart with are Tombow calligraphy pens. Simple brush pens, it makes detailing harder but I enjoy the dynamics. There’s lots of micro pens you can find for small details as well!! I also prefer to use mechanical pencils for sketching, simply because the mechanical lead stays thin and sharp instead of getting dull. That said, I use very cheap mechanical pencils, and sometimes you need a full pencil depending on the project.

There’s a little mini rant on the art supplies I use color wise, again these are just my preferences from what I’ve tried!! I’m by no means a professional haha, i very much experiment and make a mess of things!

Traditional art can become…quite the investment. Especially when it comes to buying all of the art supplies as your resources dwindle. I have to buy new art supplies much more often than I’d like to admit.

All that said, I am a firm believer of art being able to be formed from any medium!! >:D

be it a simple 2b pencil, a ballpoint pen, or crayons products, I think anything can be used to make something really pretty :))

Only real advice I have is don’t be scared to mix and match, get messy, and experiment!! Do whatever’s most fun, and don’t think you can’t make something great from something simple!! There’s no real rules. Only techniques and suggestions. It can be daunting because there’s no undo button in traditional art, but I think that’s a really good way to expand your abilities :0 it teaches you to roll with mess ups and learn how to work with them!!

Most importantly, let yourself learn from others, but NEVER let people force how you use your supplies, don’t be scared to beat them up if that’s what you need (the art supplies not the people.), and don’t think you need the fanciest things to make nice things >:D

Music in the Park

As much as Precious loves Daniella it was time to get back to feeling like herself. She called up her bestie, Sharon Cortes for chatting, sharing parenting advice and a little jam session in the park! They drew quite the crowd!

ned’s funeral is no small affair. mama is there (and is taken into custody the day after on unknown charges), and she wears a black dress under her usual leather duster. aubrey has on her magician suit, with the flame bright pendant hung over her heart. duck, barclay, zeke, and kirby are the pallbearers, and they all wear plain black suits. every person in Kepler who ever walked into the cryptonomica, as well as every sylph who didn’t immediately run away, is in attendance. every attendee is checked for weapons at the door.

there is no priest, as ned chicane didn’t believe in any power higher than his own will, but indrid offers to do the ceremony.

no one who comes up to speak is able to finish their speech, not even indrid, who only met ned a handful of times. aubrey can’t even get her first sentence out before dani has to pull her away.

the room falls silent when hollis walks up, but they don’t go to the podium. instead, they stand beside ned’s open casket. they never knew him, but his bravery was enough to shock some sense into the hornets, and ultimately kept them from storming sylvain. hollis still doesn’t understand all of what’s happening, but when they look back and see jake, face red and damp with tears, they decide that they owe ned for stopping them, whether he meant to or not.

pigeon is not in attendance. she stays outside and cries instead, and when the service is over, gives her gun to duck.

they don’t notice the handsome, dark-haired man standing just in front of them, or the shorter, older man beside him. the shorter man is crying, silently, and he can’t remember the last time he smiled so wide.

I know I’ve been really inactive lately on my Tumblr. Things have been quite turbulent in the past couple of months! For two months, I have metaphorically, dropped the pen (I actually got a pen, one of those little cheap magnetic circle ones ehehe). I’ve tried my hand at some simple things, and they didn’t really pan out well, so I never posted. I’m trying to get back into the rhythm of things, but they’re really going slow. 

I’ll be in college soon! That’s a youch on my wallet, chief. Might do commissions, but I’m not sure how to set those up, or even if I should? Ahaha. I AM IN COLLEGE NOW. wow. this costs money. they dont have good food L Well, some things that have made me really happy recently though, are the small things! I got a new (lined. not an actual sketchbook) notebook to draw in until i get it right. I’ve started playing DND again, and I’m finding, I really really like the way the campaign’s goin’. DND is going well and my character is a gay whore now /affectinate and an massive clown. i am the clown he is only the circus. i force him to show the tiddy line because the shirt doesnt have any more buttons. he doesnt like it. imagine being a wizard, hollis.

This here, is something I’ve been cobbling for over a month. It’s a small section of a longer ... animatic. It was supposed to be an animatic. But I ended up adding some small details like this. That’s my wizard, Hollis! He doesn’t look much like a wizard, does he? Haha... :) THIS PROJECT IS STILL BEING WORKED ON just. so many frames. i want music. sadness I hope yall will be patient with me as I try to get back to a normal posting schedule after my ... hiatus?
