You mention that you have a lot of Anipoke fanfics ideas you never finished, can you tell a little about them? I'm just curious
Ok. This is going to be long, so as a cartoon from my childhood said, "Sit down because here comes a story."
The first time I wrote a FanFiction was in 2013-2014, it was basically an OC based on me and the people I knew, I even added the readers themselves to the story. It was a rewrite of XY, and took the early episodes from when Ash only had Froakie and Flechiling. I needed more characters for a revolution that would happen at least in a 2 story that would interrupt the Kalos League (funny that it was similar to the team flare arc) but with Lumiose's control I looked in practically 52 chapters and was close to Ramos gym, I changed some of Ash's Pokemon and included others keeping their Kalos mon at the same time as my Pokemon for them.
I also had an AU with Mirror Ash instead of an alternate character, a twin brother of Ash who was with his father, in fact this was before the Shudo novel was translated I didn't have much of an idea how Ash father is, the only thing i knew was "Ash will see his father for development" which i came across in the interviews looking for stuff about ash...As I had a cousin with an absent father similar to Ash and I witnessed similar situations with people close to me, I used this as a reference for Ash's father who ended up being very similar to Shudo. Less similar to Yuyama and Yajima UA (20 - 21 - 23 movie and Distant Blue Sky)
I started seeing a lot of real world stories without Pokemon so I decided to try something similar several times, always leaving Pikachu as some object, animal, plush, game or Ash's favorite thing in whole world.
Mirror Serena and Mirror Ash on their journey from leaving Kanto to arriving in Kalos
Mirror Ash autistic child non verbal, hiperfocous on Pokemon anime like it's your mirror version seeing your OG version if that makes sense lol Serena wasn't Mirror Serena, she was just normal Serena, so we can say it's Mirror Ash x Serena
The UA where Ash and Misty and Satoshi and Serena were a couple each with one was missing because I thought it would be fun to make a Pokeshipping fic BUT I COULDN'T PUT ANYONE with Serena other than Ash...so I reused it 💖😅
A whole journey, from Serena in Hoeen with a bit of Palleshipping and Rivalcrushshipping, with mention of the battle frontier and May's appearance.
A rewrite of Serena as Kalos Champion progress, while Ash was in Alola trying to practice all the things he learned from Ash after he failed in Hoeen due to the current chaotic state of the government on Pokemon world in 2017.
A story I've never written about Ashley X Serena, like Serena as sapphic Ash as bi, I think they's bi in pretty much 90% of my stories. Lesbian Serena only came to my mind for the first time because of the 2023 conflict, I admit, before for me they were both a Bi4Bi couple regardless of the universe I wrote, be it yaoi or not.
(Thanks to the Male Marinette and Fem Adrien Agreste versions - the concept of genderband as I only found out what non-binary was in 2019 to 2020 they were both cis)
Yaoi Amourshipping is the most recent of them all, I've simply been watching Serena's genderband for a long time but I've never been able to choose a correct name for it, so it was a bit "how do I can I write a character without a name?" so I was left without any idea updates and I stuck to that, just the desire in the back of my mind in 2015-2016 😭
- Crossovers -
A story based on a book I was reading, where Ash was an immortal and Serena was an incarnated soul that Ash would look for from time to time because in this story he loves her, but she doesn't know and has no idea who he is. I wanted to explore the concept of reverse crush UA but at the same time without going out of character, so it was a bit like Kanto- Diamond and Pearl - Advanced Generation and Kalos Ash mixed together in one character (a little bit of Dark Ash in the middle).
A crossover with Nisekoi, with the idea of recovering the two's memories of their camping days, taking advantage of the theory that Ash was the son of Giovanni and Serena by Lysandre for the first time. Just to give the same main idea of the anime I was basing it on.
A journey of May and Dawn as a crossover of DanMachi because a friend recommended this anime to me, I did something as if the gods were people with Pokémon powers like aura, electric, etc. Pokemon trainers were like the adventurers were like Pokemon trainers but I admit that Ash and Serena had a secondary role in 2016.
Many, many crossovers with Miraculous
A crossover where Ash was Chat Noir and Serena was Ladybug
A crossover where Adrien could go to school and wanted to be a Pokemon trainer and Marinette was there.
A crossover where Delia would work with Tom and Sabine, fleeing from Ash's abusive father in Japan (original Kanto) but they are in the Miraculous world itself. No appearance, no idea who he would be, keeping pretty much the anime, I didn't really involve his father outside of the sibling UA.
I picked up both ideas recently and now that I'm back writing, I thought about putting some of them together into one, but without a very definite spoiler.
I've already done a Bridgette and Felix journey too because they're my OTP in Miraculous but I admit I had a lot more ideas for them in the original universe of their own franchise.

Pokemon X and Y Review
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The following is a review that I wrote of Pokemon X and Y that I devised up a week after it's release back in October 2013. I am really happy that this has found a home to be published on after all these years! Pokemon X and Y are very near and dear to me now looking back at them, nearly 10 years later when they came out on my 20th Birthday while I was in my first year of college. Hope everyone enjoys reading this raw and (mostly) unedited version of my 2013 thoughts on the matter of Pokemon X and Y. Also take a look at some of my other reviews and look forward to brand new content soon! Thanks!
Tumblr media
Artwork of the Kalos Region, the setting of Pokemon X and Y. Kalos is based on the Country of France, specifically the northern half.
Overall, X and Y are really good. But I am disappointed with some things. The lack of post-game content is a real turn off for me as well as the low number of new Pokemon. But I really want to say that each new Pokemon in this game actually had a purpose and I had a tough time deciding my team members. There was also some things taken out in XY that were still in Black and White as well as things removed from BW that I wanted to return such as Cycling Road and a ship in the post-game such as the S.S. Tidal. I also feel like the Fairy type can't be taken seriously because of the lackluster new Pokemon and moves that back up the type as well as the stereotypical little girls that train them. There is one exception to this rule, however and that is Florges, the final evolution of Flabebe! I was almost not gonna use one but I would of regretted the decision. Florges in my opinion has one of the most beautiful designs of all the Fairy types! She really does look like a queen and can tear things up and take hits like no one's business! I also love all of the old Pokemon that got retyped to Fairy. My favorites of which are Togekiss, Clefable, Wigglytuff, and Gardevoir. All of which are very appropriate in my opinion for a retype. It gives the four of these Pokemon much more potential than they had before. I do however wish that more Pokemon like Delcatty also got retyped as I think that would of made a lot of sense. It is nice though to see that some of the moves and Pokemon I expected to get retyped, got retyped. I wish there was more.

Now, for the story! They pulled this off flawlessly! It was not as strong as Black and White but it was just enough like the Sinnoh games. I love how Team Flare's Xerosic has a side arc for him in the post-game much like Platinum and Charon. Team Flare had one of the darkest plots of any villainous team when you look into it. I can't help but compare Lysandre to Adolf Hitler. Both wanted a beautiful world and attempted genocide of millions of people. Lysandre also tries to kill you but ends up killing himself in the process. Of course, this is just an assumption as it is never stated in-game but a lot of people refer to him in the past tense, including Sycamore. Team Flare really keeps the tradition going! The grunts have a variety of Pokemon but like other villainous teams besides Team Plasma, there is now a few generic Pokemon that are used by almost every Grunt, which makes it feel more like Team Rocket before. Team Flare has a hideout like the villainous teams from the first four generations. All of their missions involving them are very lengthy just like Team Rocket, Aqua, Magma, and Galactic. Returning to even more traditional roots is that you face Team Flare a final time and the Legendary Pokemon they sought after the 7th Gym and before the 8th. Another thing I highly praise is the levels in this game! Gym Leaders and trainers had nice levels between each area. The final levels before you even faced the League were at the early Lv. 60's! The only problem is that if one uses a Mega Evolution or turns on the Exp. Share, they can grind through Gym Leaders and trainers like no tomorrow. Keeping the Exp. Share off provides a stiff challenge. But it's really awesome at times to have it on. And I found myself using it frequently. Another thing to note is that the Gym Leaders and Elite Four all had designs and personalities similar to previous Gym Leaders and that most didn't have a secondary occupation like the ones in Black and White. Some were even based after a trainer class, such as Ramos being the head of all Gardeners, a new trainer class introduced. The Gym Leader teams felt basic, but it was the nice basic feel that Diamond and Pearl pulled off so well. One thing that wasn't present in Diamond and Pearl that was however a staple of the series from Platinum onward is that the Elite Four don't gain new teams after defeating the main story. It's a little disappointing, considering that all of the members could have benefited from the add of two more Pokemon to their teams. I do like that the Gym Leaders can be rematched at a new facility called the Battle Chateau. Unlike Black and White 2, you actually gain EXP. from defeating these Gym Leaders. However, I find rather gimmicky is that the Leaders don't appear all the time, but it's actually quite similar to Emerald now that I think about it. They would call you when their Gym was open, which could take forever. You can also rechallenge the Elite Four in the Battle Chateau but they have the exact same teams as when you faced them before, just higher level. The Battle Chateau overall is a wonderful place to train! Better than the stadiums in Nimbasa City as you can battle these trainers more than once a day. As you rank up, they can be chosen to get even tougher, with the levels soaring into the 70's! There is a lot of potential for these games to go even further in the sequels. I feel like a lot of questions and holes were left in the overall main plot, which is expected for the first paired versions of a generation. Confirmation of Zygarde has finally put to rest that the Legendaries are indeed based off of Norse Mythology as it is snake like like Nidhogrr. In fact, Xerneas in it's immobile state looks like the World Tree as well as Yveltal being based off of a couple of Norse Mytholgy birds such as Hræsvelgr, Veðrfölnir, or the unnamed eagle that sits on top of the World Tree!
Tumblr media

One thing that I found touch and go, was the routes. I really love how even though some of the areas that felt linear, had lots of side stuff hidden away from the main road to do. And some routes were just lengthy in general. Some routes had potential but it was overlooked because of lack of trainers and side route stuff to do. These routes include Route 9, 10, 11, 12 (could of had more trainers, long route overall), 14, 17. Some of my favorite routes for Kalos include Route 4, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22. A lot of locations in Kalos however were not where I expected them to be. Some of the longest routes such as Route 9 and Route 17 didn't have any trainers at all, just the Sky Trainers which I had to bypass after finding out Hawlucha can't participate. Next thing is the graphics, which is a no brainer. The graphics for this game are stunning. These games take the graphics to heights that were almost unimaginable back in the old days. They transitioned over to this very well. A lot of the familiar designs for trainer classes remain, as well as the types of NPCs you encounter looking similar to previous generations only bigger sized, making it feel all the more at home. To wrap this all up, I want to say something about the post-game. I was complaining about this at first but I realize that almost all Pokemon games since Red and Blue lack a post-game that keeps you addicted for much long. For instance, FireRed and LeafGreen are great, with the Sevii Islands and all, but once you complete them and catch Mewtwo, there isn't much left to do. It feels the same way with XY. There is a small side quest series with Looker in the post-game along with catching Mewtwo, Zygarde, and the Kanto Legendary Birds. The exception to this rule however is the Generation IV games and Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Even then, once you completed all the missions in the post-game, there wasn't much left to do. Especially the case I found with Gold, Silver, and Crystal, and their remakes. But the point I think about the post-game is to capture all the remaining Pokemon that you didn't catch during the main story. Black and White pulled this off really well. It made collecting Pokemon loads of fun, especially with the mechanics that came with it such as shaking grass and dust clouds and high leveled evolved Pokemon to be found. An example of this is Tyranitar. You do, however, have to have lots of patience for this, which some people don't have. It made something to truly strife for instead of traditionally leveling up our Pokemon, we got to hunt for them in the wild. It is nice to see that the shaking grass and dust clouds do come back but with a new twist. Pokemon actually can swoop down from the sky, a bush, or from the celling of caves! It really made the game feel so much more livelier, having a Woobat on the celling come out as a shadow at first then suddenly attack you!
Tumblr media
Artwork showcasing Mewtwo and Lucario in their Mega Evolved States. Mega Evolution is another major concept of the game that was introduced that would go on to be featured in other games.
Oh man though! I feel like I covered everything in XY when I am forgetting a focal point: Mega Evolutions! I really like the designs of all the Mega Evolutions for the most part and feel like the Pokemon that needed them, got them, such as Houndoom. Mega Evolutions aren't too overpowered depending on the Pokemon that Mega Evolves, such as Houndoom and Gengar. It actually gives them a boost that they deserve! Some like Tyranitar, felt a little too much.
To finally conclude, X and Y are great games and a worthy addition to add to the series for long time fans!
My Final Score: ★★★★★★★★ "Great" 8/10

34 and 50!
what are your current obsessions?
34 - Time I succeeded
DAMN well ok uhhhh I was top 10 internationally during the DigiCon 2022 vital lab raid!! But I can't prove it since the app shut down. I was proud of that one, though!
My favorite lasting success that I can prove is the first time I finished a longfic, which was called Slowpoke Tails and Koffing Fumes that I posted to FFnet. It's... not very good!! In fact, reading it now I cringe a lot! But it's my favorite because in a time when my life was very rocky and very close to uhhh aliven't-ing, it was a goal I set for myself that kept me keeping on. It's very silly!! And maybe has a few edgelordy moments, but mostly just silly! I am very proud of this shiny little trash bag!
50 - current obsessions
*knocks politely on your door* Excuse me, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior, Guzmamore? *wedges my foot inside so you can't close it* listen i was skeptical too ok I was SO SKEPTICAL ok so last april??? I was just hanging around on pinterest, as you do, when I stumbled across this art by Alcka (who is an absolutely lovely artist btw and they have more guzmamore art) and let me tell you something my friend it ACTIVATED something in me and i am about to go on a very long rambling rant about this so im gonna put it under the cut ok??
SO LISSEN OKAY JUST LISSEN im crying im sobbing I used to have a Team Rocket!Sycamore RP blog back in 2013/14ish and I used to play Guzma briefly in Wild Encounters and I thought I had packaged them up and put them in the closet under the shoes but I saw that one piece of art (WHICH SYCAMORE TECHNCIALLY IS NOT EVEN IN!!!) and I became absolutely F E R A L about them overnight like it was supposed to be silly it was supposed to be hahaha and then like a one shot where they kept running into each other on Melemele and went on a silly little date but YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS ABOUT THEM SO MANY
Because as silly as it WAS once I started writing Turning Point I started kind of like finding this vibe between them??
Like on the one hand you have Guzma who has problems with authority and mommy issues and probably daddy issues too who makes a point not to rely on other people but will fall in line for anyone who gives him a pat on the head
On the other hand you have Augustine whose best friend/lover just died catastrophically but not only that who betrayed him and stabbed him in the back so thoroughly and also he had to give you a medal and a parade for getting lysandre killed like Augustine too has issues no matter what backstory you give him just based on XY alone if the man did not start with issues the man has developed issues
And like to make matters WORSE the headcanons I developed for them completely separately during the times I played either of them ALSO kind of started to vibe? idk idk just each of their dispositions like augustine being a feral little freak and guzma being kind of sturdy and down-to-earth when he's not a seething mess they just started to balance each other out and suddenly i had a finished fic and i couldn't get them out of my head and now somehow i have 4 more long fics in planning mode for these two idiots i just hhhHHHHHHH i cant get over them i love them too much the rarest of my pairs
also i have recently become obsessed with the idea of making pokemon character muppets

hey pokeani fans, how are we feeling about journeys? considering the fact that it’s been out for a year i feel like we all have our own individual thoughts on it :]
here's my thoughts
Honestly? I don’t even know anymore. I love Pokemon, and the anime even more! I really do. I’ve been a constant fan ever since 2013 and though I hold my own gripes against the xy/xyz series i still had a fantastic time. it was my first series that I actually got to watch the premiere all the way to the end. then sun and moon came along, and I know that I did drop off the anime for a little bit but now a days that series is my absolute favorite! during the sun/moon era I even watched all the episodes of the anime. and I had a fantastic time. But now? I’m just... uncertain. journeys is obviously taking it’s own step [with sun/moon having started the ‘it’s own path’ ordeal] but even then when you think of sun/moon it still had the qualifications of the normal standard. while he [ash] may not have been exploring a region for 8 badges, he still explored the islands AND made his own goal to defeat each grand trail. the reason sun/moon worked so well is that it was mainly located in ONE spot, which was Melemele island AND characters who were just cotds would constantly come back! it also worked well since we actually got to know the Pokémon and their trainers. which many doubted as there was over 6 main characters. we grew to love the alolan gang and you KNOW that many many people love those characters of sun/moon as the majority was insanely excited to have seen them in the journey’s intro + their episode. journey’s pacing just feels... off. I get they’re trying something new with the idea of going to each region but it feels like some episodes are just.. left to unimportance. (tokio, darkest day, rose, hell even suicune) the pacing would’ve been fantastic if it had been perhaps a few arcs per region then repeat.. or one arc per region. but instead we keep going all over the place and half the time it isn’t even research that they’re suppose to do for the professor. (i guess some could argue this is johto but you could argue that alola was pure filler, as well as the decolore islands. so uhh... uncertain) and I KNOW I shouldn’t be tilted over the focus being on gou.. but after 20 years of having the same main protagonist (and even then the focus on the companions was shared!) it just.... doesn’t feel right? our first protagonist (ash) is a battle focused trainer, having the shift over to a capture focused trainer is just... rough. you know how many people feel about Gou. People value the love and care of each Pokémon, that’s why we love certain Pokémon that Ash has. but with Gou... some are just left in the garden never to be seen again or used as gags. then there’s team rocket. the gacha machine just hurts, the TRio cannot catch their own Pokémon and they haven’t had much focus this entire season :( I’m a story loving person, that’s why I love when we have certain arcs or big climatic battles. But, Journeys is doing it’s own thing! I’ll give it that, and congrats to them for trying new things but story is fun! But I’m sure many people enjoy the comical tone that Journeys have, and hey! The anime gained more popularity due to having two protagonists right now.  Oh and Koharu? I don’t even know with her anymore. First I just thought of her as the obligatory girl character and she’s just on her own path. But many a times she just seems like... not much? She’s getting her own episodes, but after 40 episodes [when majority of the seasons are 100-120 based] that’s rough!  Overall, Journeys has indeed lost my interest. I’ll still catch up and be a Pokemon fan no matter what... but I wanna hear what other fans have to say :]

5 years of the PokémonJesus
Before the night comes to a close, I would like to personally reflect on today’s importance (thus the reason for the Takeover queue). It’s been 5 years since I officially became engaged with this fandom that has really became a weekly routine of mine when new episodes come out. This is really just to put my thoughts out there in the blog archive, so I would prefer if no one reblogs this. P J’s beginnings started all the way back with Serebii Forums...
2013-2014 (The Pokémon forums Era)
Tumblr media
I have been lurking in the fandom as early as the Best Wishes days, and often visit sites like Serebii Forums or tumblr’s Pokémon anime tags around 2011. I usually talk Pokémon online when it comes to the games when battling or trading in certain chat rooms (was really active during the Gen. IV era of games), but never really talked about the anime with. I have been a spectator to the discussion while the BW saga was rolling a long, then I decided on September 26th 2013 (which was the airdate for the final BW! episode in Japan) to create a serebiiforums account under the username PokemonJesus123, just in time for the start of the XY series which I was mad hyped about! I WAS A FAN SINCE DAY 1...some y’all just tagged along in XY&Z NO LOYALTY xD . My serebii profile is still there actually, so you can try to find my old inactive page if you want lol (my avatar was me holding up my 3DS in a cringey way...looking back why tf did I take that photo lol delete later). Coming into 2014, I joined tumblr as well under the url name you see right before you. Never changed it, and probably never will. The origin of this name you ask? You’ll just have to ask me personally for that story 😉 I absolutely joined tumblr out of pure boredom to view and follow blogs I was a fan of. I had no intention of posting whatsoever. Oh, and I made a Twitter account under the P J name too! Follow ME :^)
2014-2015 (Thursday LIVE! tumblr era)
Tumblr media
After a couple months of finally creating a tumblr account and actively posting on serebiiforums and bulbagarden, XY episode 50 (the episode where big lips Nini/Nene debuted) was the first EVER Pokémon anime episode I ever posted about in my blog. I was still new the #pokeani tag (funny story, I didn’t really knew what it meant back then besides to tag it lol), but I got as much as around 30-100 notes. Seeing those notes already got excited that it pushed me from making it a weekly thing since I had a livestream to watch it every Thursday night and screen-cap it. My goal from the very beginning was to try to be the first one to post about here, like what the Japanese fans do on Twitter under the #Anipoke tag. Of course, most of my notes came from either an AmourShipping post or a Serena post. I’m not going to lie, I was really a huge Serena fan when the series first started. I rambled a lot too getting hyped for Citron/Clemont episodes because he was probably my favorite character at the time xD
2015-2016 (A growing blog)
Tumblr media
This was the era I started to do special long posts in celebration with Pokémon’s 20th anniversary. Around this period is where my blog was in a developing state getting like 2 or 3 followers every week. And trust me, there were A LOT of posts that I regret posting, but I learned to watch my words every week and say the right things (I really try not to trigger anyone here). I took a couple of weeks off when new episodes aired since I was really busy with college, or I wasn’t into XY filler episodes that much. Would usually tune in live when Team Flare was involved or anything with Squishy/Puni-chan (I absolutely ADORED Bonnie/Eureka in this arc), but I didn’t post that much on tumblr...unless if there was like an AmourShipping moment that happened xD. The hype for Gen. VII was already looming, and I kinda got bored from the anime A BIT. When Ash-Greninja came into the picture however, I got excited again! Then the Kalos League happened, and the anticipation of Ash’s journey hit a climax! We all know what happened, and the rest was history...
2016-2017 (GIFmaking era)
Tumblr media
So the Sun & Moon anime happened late 2016, and the hype for a new series was within me again! This is when my blog REALLY started to boom, as well as the birth of my Pokémon Discord server PokéTōku. My notes were higher than over compared to what I posted from XY. One possible reason is that a lot of pokeani bloggers from back then weren’t really interested in Sun & Moon (probably because of the animation change), so I was one of few who still stayed for the ride and that really benefited my blog’s exposure. I absolutely loved Lillie’s character development, and I also did not expect myself to enjoy Lana/Suiren’s character so much! Brock & Misty’s was a huge highlight for me as well seeing my childhood come to a modern-day Pokémon series. I was surprised to have popular people reblog my stuff that destroys my notifications per second. I was even flattered when popular pokéblogs such as shelgon, corsolanite, chasekip, and a few others followed me. Back then I really wanted to get a lot of notes, but at this point I just wanted to be myself and post screen-caps that I feel like talking about. The series also motivated me to start making GIFs since I finally had access to Adobe Photoshop through my university’s application benefits. Later in 2017, I graduated from college and it gave me more time to improving my blog. Also, can you believe it took me 3 years to get 1,000 followers? If you asked me from day 1, I would have never expected to get that much since I had no idea about tumblr’s audience.
Everyone here knows that my blog doesn’t really follow “traditional” tumblr methods such as tags or making specific posts and what not (since I’m not really that into the tumblr culture lol...I’m just here for fun doing my own thing), but I hope I’ve brought something different to your dash experience 🙃
2017-2018 (Making friends)
Tumblr media
From 1,000 to 2,500+ followers the next year. You’d be surprise how small that still is compared to the other popular Pokéblogs that joined tumblr later than me, but I’m still grateful for that number. My hype for movie 20 was crazy! I’d always make a post about it when a new trailer was out. But just like Sun & Moon, not everyone was looking forward to the AU it produced. The Let’s Go games shared the same fate as well since everyone didn’t want another Kanto, but I always defend the things that deserve a chance! I fairly enjoyed movie 20 though, and was the first movie that I posted screen-caps and GIFs for in this blog, even made an experience post about it watching it in the theaters! What’s MOST important to me during this time was actually interacting with some of my followers...or should I say friends now :) Out of the 5 years I’ve been here (not counting serebiiforum peeps I’ve known since 2013), I only recently talked to some of you around 2017. My interactions with people here have been awesome (for the most part at least lol) from sharing interests, geeking out over the anime, sending memes xD and concerns when P J isn’t feeling P J. You know who you are, and THANK YOU for cheering your boy up in times when I needed it despite not telling you about it <3 Going back to PokéAni hype, my next excitement attack was when they announced the Aether Foundation and Ultra Beasts were getting involved in the main story. It really makes up for no Alola movie...but hey we still got 1 year left, so maybe there’s hope?
Despite the brief breaks I took, P J’s activeness in the fandom has reached its highest when I managed the time to do scheduled posts and even started a few mini-blog series this year. Even during stressful times, I always make it an effort to find time and contribute to the fandom. I honestly don’t care if I get any asks because I know who the real homies are ◉‿◉つ A special shoutout as well to all the people that joined my Discord server through this website. I couldn’t have reached 100+ members without some of your blogs ^_^ And to the lurkers out there (I know some of y’all are creepin’ in the shadows of my blog without liking anything), you may not know it but I love you people too ლ(́◉◞౪◟◉‵ლ)
Anyway this is just a summary of my journey here so far, and if you’d to hear a more in-depth story on some toxic things I’ve experienced in this fandom just message me. I personally don’t like venting out stuff in public because it just promotes more negativity, and I’m not about that. I will make a separate post on my feelings toward the schedule change maybe next week, and an appreciation post (5th tumblr blogaversary) for my specific followers January 2019. I am still preparing for that because there are so many people (even ones I don’t even talk to) I want to thank ❤ Moving forward into my 6th year, I probably won’t make another post like this anytime soon...but I am very hopeful for the future of the SM series and possible Gen. 8 anime late 2019. I also do plan on making some PokéAni-related stuff in my YouTube channel when the time is right, and have the resources to do projects. Keep your eyes out fam 👀LET’S F’N GO!

Closeting in Hollywood: What Have Ricky, Matt, Kevin, Wentworth, and Colton Said
The CC fandom has spun a convoluted and elaborate fantasy that claims that Darren Criss has been kept in the closet for 9 years because of a morality clause that was attached to THE Contract when he signed to play Blaine Anderson on Glee.
A “morales clause” as used in the entrainment industry has come to reference any number of contractual terms that cite certain behavior of the contractual individual and serve as a basis for termination of the agreement. ...the clause allows advertisers to terminate a talent agreement when an actor’s conduct is detrimental to the employer’s interests or otherwise devalues the performance due” (X)
In other words, a morality clause allows the studio to fire an actor who breaks the clause. That’s it. It can’t force an actor to lie about his sexuality. It cannot force an actor to create an entire fake life in order to keep his sexuality hidden from the world at the instruction of a studio.  It can’t force someone to hide their true life or risk “breaching the contract”.  You can read an in-depth look at morality clauses in sports and entertainment, here.
I have already shown that in CA, the longest an employment contract can be is 7 years- which means the had Glee not ended- which ended the contract- the contract would have ended in 2017.
So let’s see what these men have said about their experience “in the closest” in Hollywood:
Wentworth Miller-
Wentworth came out in August 2013.  He spoke publicly soon after about his experience being closeted.
Miller spoke of the pressure in Hollywood to keep his sexuality a secret, particularly when he became the star of the 20th Century Fox series Prison Break
"I did thousands of interviews. I had multiple opportunities to speak my truth, but I chose not to," he said. "I was out to family and friends, to people I trusted, but professionally, publicly I was not.
"I had to choose between out of integrity and out of the closet and I chose the former. I chose to lie. Because when I thought about the possibility of coming out, and how it would impact me and the career I had worked so hard for, I was filled with fear." (X)
Ricky Martin
Pop star Ricky Martin says he "wasted energy" hiding his sexuality at the start of his career.
The 46-year-old came out in 2010, and recently married Jwan Yosef, with whom he has two sons, fathered by surrogate.the star said he regretted the lengths he had gone to disguise his sexuality."I was a closeted gay man who was making my partners hide," he said. Some of his partners had gone "back into the closet" on his behalf, he added.Martin said he had taken extreme measures to avoid speculation, in case it harmed his career."I didn't open doors to new relationships, and I'm not talking about romantic relationships, I'm talking about any relationship, because I didn't want people to know me too much. "I wouldn't even sit down and have a cool relationship with amazing producers or great film directors because I was afraid that if they spent more than two hours sitting with me they would know my nature."I wasted so much energy trying to manipulate my sexuality."Martin has previously explained it took him years to come to terms with his sexuality - and he was still "struggling" with the issue at the height of his fame in 1999."Even though I had relationships with men after separating from my first love, I was still not ready to accept myself as gay," he wrote in his autobiography, Me.Martin has previously explained it took him years to come to terms with his sexuality - and he was still "struggling" with the issue at the height of his fame in 1999."Even though I had relationships with men after separating from my first love, I was still not ready to accept myself as gay," he wrote in his autobiography, Me. (X)
Before the addition of his twin sons Mateo and Valentino, Martin was struggling internally with his sexuality because of society’s pressure and the stigma of being a gay man. As he told CBS Sunday Morning, Martin feared rejection because he had been told for so long that his “feelings were evil” and that by feeling the way he felt about men then he wasn’t a good person. So, in 2010, Martin declared to he world, and his fans, that he is a “fortunate homosexual man.” (X)
Colton Haynes
Nowadays, Colton Haynes is out and proud and engaged to the love of his life, but it was only a few short years ago that he was struggling to cope with anxiety that stemmed from being forced into the closet by his management...his team routinely tried to set him up with women to distract rabid fans from learning the truth about his sexuality...“I was literally told from the day that I moved to Los Angeles that I could not be gay because I wouldn’t work," he said. "Then I was with my management team and a team of people that just literally told me I couldn’t be this way. They tried to set me up with girls. I was rumored to date Lauren Conrad for six months because they were kind of angling a story. And then I dated every other young person which of course I didn’t date.”  (X)
In the span of approximately two years, Colton Haynes ditched his MTV and CW roots, came out, fired his management and took some time off... Newly engaged and freed from the leash of career advisers who wanted to market him as straight, Haynes has processed the anxiety that accompanied his private life being laid bare...I literally quit acting for over a year and then I re-signed with a new agency, The coming-out thing was a year ago in May, so yeah, it was basically that whole process. When that happened, it was me figuring out, “OK, is this a good move?” I parted ways with my team, and it was a really tricky year for me. My anxiety was terrible, and eventually I was like, “I’m not going to literally waste the last 10 years of my life.” So I started back and it’s going well. No, I never thought — I’ve been told by so many people that you cannot be out and have a career. Literally people would set me up with girls for press. In what context were you set up with women?I would be at a party. There was this whole story that ran with Lauren Conrad, who I love — she’s the best. Basically my old manager at the time was like, “Oh, take a picture with her.” He just basically ran this story trying to say that I was dating Lauren Conrad. It was there for about six months. I was like, “Oh, great, I have to do this.” That’s how it is in Hollywood. But not anymore. You have all these amazing showrunners who actually embrace people’s personal lives and embrace people’s truth. I think that’s really pivotal. I’m surprised you were dealing with that even a few years ago. I figured we’d moved past that. Yeah, I did that for seven or eight years. I was told by my first manager, like 10 years ago, “You will never work in this town if people know [you’re gay].” I assume that’s what led to your management changes. Oh God, yeah. That was like, “Bye! You gotta get out.” God. I wish I could say more. You can! [Laughs] Yeah. It was a compete team change. (X)
Matt Dallas
The 26-year-old Dallas had not publicly come out as gay until Sunday, but there had been speculation about his sexuality for years. In early 2009, he was linked to “Mean Girls” actor Jonathan Bennett, from whom he reportedly split that same year. In September 2009, Dallas and Hamilton were spotted together grabbing food in West Hollywood.
Dallas’ coming-out is in line with what appears to be a trend of celebrities addressing their sexuality in remarkably subtle ways — really, nothing more than “I’ve never been in.”“Gone are the days of the ‘Yep, I’m Gay’ magazine covers,” notes HuffPost Gay Voices Editor-at-Large and SiriusXM host Michelangelo Signorile, “with celebrities making a spectacle of coming out, and thus focusing on the fact that they were in the humiliating and painful gay closet... The closet isn’t going away any time soon. But one step toward dismantling it among public figures it to make it a difficult and embarrassing place to be. From the looks of the latest celebrity self-outings, that’s perhaps starting to take hold.” (X)
Matt Dallas revealed executives of hit show Kyle XY told him not to publicly come out as gay.
The 36-year-old played the title character in the American science fiction television series for three seasons from 2007.
‘I was told to stay in the closet,’ he revealed. ‘Not talk about my sexuality, to be on every red carpet with a girl on my arm – because you could not be successful if you were openly gay in the entertainment industry, at least in front of the camera.’
‘I wish I had not taken that advice,’ he added.Dallas then said: ‘Because of the advice that was given to me to stay in the closet, I became very disconnected from who I was.‘There’s a lot of residual stuff that to this day that I still deal with where I find myself [thinking] “I sound too gay” or “I’m acting too gay” because it was so drilled into my brain,’ he said (X)
Kevin McHale
McHale added that, although he hadn’t explicitly come out as gay before, though he did not hide it and has been very explicit in social media about his private life and sexuality. “The person I was with came from the most accepting family, but one of the family members, he was terrified of them finding out,” he said (X)
Let’s be real..closeting happens in the Hollywood but NOT the CC fantasy version. It doesn’t happen through morality clauses and contracts. Closeting happens exactly like this group of men have described- managers who are supposed to be looking out for the actor’s best interests advise them to stay in the  closet in order to have a career. It is studios telling an actors they shouldn’t come out and to have a woman on their arm at events. But all of these men have described being “advised” or “pressured” not being forced.
The way that closeting works in Hollywood:
society tells LGBTQ kids that they are not worth as much as straight people, that there is something wrong, they are abnormal, weird, freaks.
By the time they get to Hollywood, the self loathing, anxiety, depression and confusion are well established. Add a manager or studio telling you if you want this career you have worked so hard for you had better stay in the closet and it is becomes overwhelming. Colton and Wentworth both have spoken at length about their severe anxiety and depression.
The manager who pressures the actor to stay in the  closet may very well be giving solid advice. It is true that gay actors are passed over for leading man roles because casting agents don’t believe they are believable as straight. But telling someone to literally hide a major part of themselves from the world when the spotlight is shining directly on them is asking an impossible taste.
casting agents often won’t even consider openly queer actors for straight roles because they believe that the audience won’t believe they are straight.
Bringing attention to ways in which LGBTQ persons are discriminated against is  important.  But lying about HOW closeting works and promoting outrageous lies because they make fulfill your fantasy about a straight man, is pretty disgusting and isn’t helping queer actors.

I am creating this blog for a couple reasons, First, I am going to chronicle my adventure, hopefully from beginning to end in order to keep interested parties informed as to what’s going on.  My second reason is in order to allow people that are preparing to go through this to read someone else’s journey.  Everyone is different going through this experience, so take what I say with a grain of salt when trying to compare it to yours.
First a bit of background.  I am a 59 year old white male of European descent.  Below is the medical speak for my condition.
Chronic myeloproliferative disorder   Leukocytosis 2004 ff 20K with crit 40% MCV 87 and plt 546K Borderline polycythemia 2007 ff with iron deficiency Splenomegally 25 cm 8/3/12 8/31/12 Jak 2 positive BCR ABL 0 copies 8/31/12 Bone marrow S12-31292 hypercellular marrow with trilineage hematopoiesis, megakaryocytic hyperplasia with atypia; fibrosis grade 2/3 ; normal flow; chromosomes 46 XY ? P Vera with secondary myelofibrosis _Hydrea 9/9/12 - 10/24/15 8/2013 bone marrow S13-28546 mild fibrosis no increase in blasts 90% cellularity _Jakafi 10/17/15 - present
Here’s what all that means.  in 2004 I was sent to a Hematologist due to an unexplained high white blood cell count.  My white blood cells were normal, and my other counts were ok, so I was sent home with a “we’ll watch it”.
In 2007, I was found to be iron deficient, and the first idea that I might have Polycythemia Vera (PV) was put forward.
In 2012, due to some other issues, I had a test that showed my spleen to be enlarged.  At this time, I went back to the Hematologist and more tests were done.  This is when I was actually diagnosed with PV, and was found Jak 2 positive.  A bone marrow biopsy (BMB) was done to check the progression of the disease and I was found then to have secondary Mylofibrosis (SMF).
I was put on Hydrea, a mild chemo drug, at that time which I remained on until the end of 2015 when I was put on Jakafi.  I have remained on varying doses of Jakafi since then.
Towards the end of 2017 I had a repeat BMB.  At this time, I was told they got a bad sample and wanted to repeat the BMB with samples from both hips.  The second BMB showed the same as the first, which basically was that my bone marrow had pretty much stopped all production due to the fibrosis (scarring).  At the same time, my spleen was increasing in size to take up the slack in blood production (not a good thing).  I was told then, by my Hematologist, that there was no longer anything pharmaceutically that could be done for my condition and I needed to seriously consider a Stem Cell Transplant (SCT).  This was September 2017.  I talked things over with my wife Kat, and we decided to move forward with the procedure.
I was told by the transplant Doctor we had been seeing all along (this was a known possibility from fairly early, so we covered our bases by talking to someone early) and was told they would move forward with testing for a donor. It was decided that my 2 younger boys would both undergo testing for a match, as well as looking for unrelated donors.  My daughter was excluded due to some medical issues she had had earlier in the year.
Matches.  Most people have a limited number.  Apparently my type is pretty common.  Not only were both of my boys good haploid matches (half), I had four people that came up as 10/10 matches initially.  The unrelated donors were asked to undergo further testing and one couldn't, so the other three did.  Of those three, two came up to be 12/12 matches, which I guess isn’t that common.  Usually, dud to limited choices, the team decides on a match pretty quickly.  Due to the number of possibilities I had, it took three weeks to finally decide on one, one of the 12/12 unrelated donors.  All I know about him at this point is that he is around 23 years old.  Since I was going to have an unrelated donor, I was told I would have a reduced intensity procedure as the age limit in the guidelines for a full ablative (totally destroying the immune system before rebuilding it) is 50.  As I said before, I am 59.
I then underwent two days of testing at the transplant center.  I have not previously mentioned the center, but I will now, Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN.  I was told at the end of the testing that I was a healthy enough 59 year old that they would consider doing the full ablative procedure on me.  That has since been confirmed.
Next step is to go to the donor and request dates.  My team initially requested around 1-30-18, but he came back with no availability until after 2-19-18.  After some back and forth, it was finally decided that my intake date would be 2-19, with a transplant date, day 0, of 2-28.  Days before the transplant once I start my intake will be counted backwards from day 0.
My initial reactions to all of this.....be patient.  Be very patient.  I thought, since we made the decision in September, that we might be able to go forward with the transplant as early as December.  So many people are involved in making the very best choices possible for my best results that it’s like any committee, and it takes time.  Be patient.
I will likely not post here again until 2-19, on my intake day.  At that point, my intention will be to post daily updates, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Matt Dallas Talks Living in the Hollywood Closet, New Horror Film
Matt Dallas can laugh now, but his former life as a gay man living as a straight man wasn’t a joke.
Dallas was told to stay in the closet after moving to L.A. to pursue acting at 18, particularly while portraying boyishly cute titular character with the non-existent navel on ABC Family’s 2006-launched teen sci-fi drama Kyle XY. Other roles followed: he starred alongside Hilary Duff in ABC Family’s 2010 TV film Beauty & the Briefcase, and also played Katy Perry’s war-vet boyfriend in her 2009 “Thinking of You” music video and, that same year, Rebecca Romijn’s love interest, Chad, on ABC’s supernatural dramedy Eastwick.
And then in 2013, Hollywood closet be damned, Dallas came out publicly, matter-of-factly announcing his engagement to now-husband Blue Hamilton. In 2015, they adopted their son, Crow.
Dallas’ latest project, Along Came the Devil, is a fresh horror-genre venture for the 35-year-old actor, who starred in a glut of slasher films at the onset of his career, including 2005’s Camp Slaughter and 2008’s Babysitter Wanted. In this demonic endeavor he plays a pastor, the kind you know only exists in the movies (if only they were this hot in real life).
Here, Dallas opens up about denying being gay on The Howard Stern Show (“the worst day of my life”), how coming out freed him and moving to Colorado to put family first.
What about horror appeals to you?
Honestly, I had done horror films early in my career and felt like I maxed out on doing horror films, but when I read this screenplay I was excited about it because it wasn’t necessarily a slasher film. It wasn’t just straight-up horror; it was such a throwback to the exorcism films of the ’60s and ’70s, so I was excited to get to do something that played in a different world. And it played with demons, and I loved the whole spiritual aspect of it, and to play a pastor was something so different or me, so it was an exciting way to come back to the genre.
What are you looking for in projects at this point in your career?
I recently moved to Colorado, and my life has taken such a lifestyle shift. But it’s getting to play roles that I haven’t gotten to necessarily play in the past, whether it be a pastor or a villain or just things that are a part of myself that I haven’t gotten to explore. That, for me, is the biggest attraction to a project now.
How is life in Colorado?
Life is very different in Colorado.
Is this what happens when you become a father? You move to Colorado?
Honestly, that was a big part of it. I was going back and forth between L.A. and Phoenix – I grew up in Phoenix; my family’s there – and there was a part of me that felt like I wasn’t ready to necessarily totally walk away from L.A. So, we sold our house in Phoenix and went back to L.A. for a few months and we were there for seven months. That seven months was exactly what I needed to let my time in Los Angeles be what it was and move onto the next chapter in my life.
And it was a lot about being a father. Having a child in L.A., life was so much more difficult; that city is really just so consumed by industry that I wanted to shift my priorities so that it was family first, and let work be something that I love and enjoy, but not something that consumes my life. It was a lot easier to do outside of Los Angeles, and yeah, my husband grew up in Colorado and it was always his dream to live in the Rocky Mountains. And I love the mountains. It just seemed like a natural next step for us.
Earlier this year you did a throuple episode of your vlog “Matt and Blue” with model-director Max Emerson. A lot of strong opinions were shared on the internet about you two exploring being a throuple in that video. Is that something you’ve seriously considered?
We actually did a whole series where we’re like, “We’re gonna just have fun and script some things.” And it was supposed to be for fun, but it’s crazy how many people really took it seriously. But no, being in a throuple is nothing we’d ever really considered. We just wanted to make something that is very true in the gay community and something that is very relevant, and have fun with it.

Do you think it’s easier now for actors to be out from the get-go?
One-hundred percent. I should say, I don’t know. It’s definitely a different time. When we were shooting Kyle XY, I still had agents at the time and people telling me that I had to hide being gay and had to work with a speech coach and go on carpets with a girl on my arm. We were just in a very different point in society than we are now. I was in my early 20s, I had finally just had my first taste of real success, and felt like I could accomplish what I had come to L.A. to do but like it was all being taken away from me. I was so afraid of that happening, because I had so many people in my head telling me how to act and how to behave.
I was afraid to come out. Sure, people still are today. But I do think as a society and an industry we have come so far. Now, we celebrate individuality. Especially in the industry, we still have a ways to go. We still don’t see openly gay actors play leading men roles. You have Love, Simon, but we don’t have an openly gay actor playing a superhero yet or playing a Mission: Impossible character.
In 2006, you appeared on The Howard Stern Show and denied claims Perez Hilton had made that you were gay. Have you followed up with Howard on this?
(Laughs) No. That was the last time I spoke to him. Dude, that was just the worst day of my life. I woke up – it was 3 a.m. Los Angeles time – to do this interview. I was so unprepared to go on Howard Stern, and I should’ve known better. My publicist told me at the time – promised me, swore up and down – that he would not bring up the whole gay thing. It wasn’t even a minute or two, and the whole interview became about it.
Fifteen minutes of you being asked how many women you’d slept with.
It was brutal. I remember sweating and being so nervous the whole interview because I was just not prepared to handle that. I was so naive, everything. And I literally hung up from that and went and crawled in bed under the blanket and would not get up that entire day. I just should not have taken that interview to begin with, but I was like, “Howard Stern! My dad loves Howard Stern! I’m gonna do his show!” And I was most embarrassed for my dad to hear it, more than anybody else. I was just like, “Ugh, my dad listening to me go on for 15 minutes about all the girls I slept with in high school.” (Laughs) I can laugh about it now.
Do you think LGBTQ actors are still forced to stay in the closet by Hollywood handlers?
Yeah, I’m sure, but we’re in a different place now. As a society, we’re more used to talking about it. So, these actors have seen other people go through this already; there are a lot more openly gay actors and more options of how to handle it now than there was then, when it was so swept under the rug. There was no blueprint.
How did coming out change your career?
It freed me. And it allowed me to just give less a f*ck. It was very freeing as an artist, as an actor and just as a human being, and it changed a lot in that way. It also changed in that, now, most of the roles I get sent are for gay roles. Unless my team is actively going after another role that’s not gay, the ones that come to me are mostly all gay roles.
How do you feel about that?
It doesn’t bother me. I’m glad there are a lot more gay roles than there used to be. I do think I should be — in the same way that every straight actor is considered for every gay role, gay actors should be considered just as much for straight roles. We’re on the path to that.

P J’s PokéAni Trivia Tuesday #15 (Global Tour edition)
Welcome to part 5 of 5 PTTs digging into some really cool PokéAni facts from all over the world! This one hits close to home for me, since I do come from Southeast Asia, which is why I saved it for the end of the tour. What I’ve noticed is that most dubs in Asia are mainly based on the original Japanese version (since well...Japan is in Asia, so duh?). And yes, this is the LAST Tuesday of this 5-week(ish) series doing global research of the Pokémon anime. I will go back to the regular trivia stuff I’ve been doing before this next week, so it is bittersweet to see this tour end, but hey I really had fun with it especially learning a lot of new things from different people and cultures! I also appreciate those who have commented about their country’s facts, and what they’ve experienced with it! One thing’s for sure about my research, and it’s that PokéAni is truly WORLD-WIIDDEEE! Now let’s look at our final facts, shall we?
Pokémon anime in ASIA (...besides Japan)
Tumblr media
In GREATER CHINA (收服神奇寶貝! Shōufú Shénqí Bǎobèi!) DID YOU KNOW? This section includes independent countries like Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macao. Anime episodes and movies have been dubbed into both Mandarin and Cantonese languages. Visit the official Chinese website for the Pokémon anime.
On July 10, 2015, a special event was also held during the premiere of movie 17 (The Cocoon of Destruction) in Shanghai to promote the new name for the translated word of ”Pokémon” in Chinese. As of 2017, the name change debuted at the start of the Sun & Moon series. The new Chinese translation for Pokémon is now called 精靈寶可夢 (Jīnglíng bǎo kě mèng) meaning Pokémon creatures.
The rename of the series has met some criticism among the fanbase, particularly in Hong Kong where it became a topic of socio-cultural and political controversy. Members of a radical political group named Civic Passion protested Pikachu's name change outside the Japanese consulate in Central, Hong Kong, as its original Cantonese name 比卡超 (Bǐ kǎ chāo) was changed to its Mandarin name 皮卡丘 (Pèihkāyāu). To avoid public backlash, the Sun & Moon anime released in Hong Kong uses the English pronunciation of Pikachu instead of its Mandarin name.
The 13th movie got released in Taiwan just 20 days after the Japanese premiere...probably the quickest release of a movie outside Japan ever.
Unlike the other dubs around the world, the Mandarin, Cantonese and Taiwanese dubs subtitle the original Japanese opening and ending themes. However, there is an exception from the original Kanto saga. The localization team used an original song with minor edits made to the opening. Another exception would be in the Best Wishes series when Japanese officials requested them to make another original Mandarin theme song (though the Japanese theme was used in movies 14).
Tumblr media
In SOUTH ASIA/INDIA (करने है हासिल! Karne hai haasil!) DID YOU KNOW? The Pokémon anime is available in the following South Asian territories: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Cartoon Network India had two additional dubs, Tamil (தேடி பேடிப்போ மெய்! Thedi Pedipo Mey!) and Telugu (వెతికి పట్టుకుంట! Vethiki Pattukunta!).
Around the beginning of 2014, Disney bought the rights to the Pokémon series in India. However, Disney did not acquire the rights for the anime's previous Hindi dub, so the anime had to be re-dubbed. The first ever episode of Pokémon had to re-air in its new cast in Hungama TV on May 19, 2014. Probably the LATEST premiere of the 1st episode of Pokémon!
Throughout Hungama TV’s anime run of Pokémon, a number of new blocks were introduced that were dedicated exclusively to the series. This includes: PokéThon, PokéVaar, and PakdoThon.
Despite the fact that Hungama TV airs material provided by TPCi (PokéAni English dubbing company) for the episodes, the Hindi dub for the first eight movies used footage from the original Japanese version.
From the middle of the second run of the Black & White season, Cartoon Network replaced the English opening with an original Hindi song.
Tumblr media
In the PHILIPPINES DID YOU KNOW? The country airs English dub on Cartoon Network, while they also produced a Filipino dub of the anime is more aimed to Filipinos that naturally can't understand and/or speak in English.
The GMA channel aired the English dub every Friday nights to compete against a rival station which aired the Filipino dub of Digimon Adventure at the same time. This is a very similar situation I mentioned with Brazil.
PokéMania was a special segment created by Cartoon Network to air past seasons of the Pokémon anime every weekend mornings. The segment, however, did not air continuously. Every time the segment changes season, a number is added to the title that corresponds to that season number (e.g. PokéMania 5). The segment aired all of the anime's season up until the seventh. Later on, Cartoon Network aired the reruns of the eighth to nineteenth season but not under the segment's name.
Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened was the FIRST ever Pokémon movie to hit Philippine theaters. It premiered in the country on November 13th 2013, and a Mewtwo event was distributed at SM Megamalls between November 16 and 17, 2013 for the special occasion.
Similar to Veronica Taylor and Sarah Natochenny, the Filipino dub VA for Ash, Klariz Magboo, voices Delia Ketchum as well.
Tumblr media
In VIETNAM DID YOU KNOW? Their version of the anime was a voice-over translation (based off the original Japanese version) rather than being dubbed into the Vietnamese language.
In winter 2013, HTV3 (a well known dubbing network) created a poll on their website for everyone to vote for programs they would like to see aired on their channel. Pokémon was one of the choices, and within a few weeks, it was announced that they would air the Pokémon anime for the first time EVER Vietnamese television on January 25, 2014. An official Facebook page and YouTube channel were created for fans to discuss and take part in fun activities. Weekly games pertaining to the broadcast are held with Pokémon merchandise offered as prizes for the winners.
The anime debuted with the Best Wishes series, which is rare because most of the world have at least aired the first episode of the original series. They even released the 2015 Best Wishes calendar in December 2014 to promote the re-release of the Pokémon Adventures manga.
A controversy arose with fans due to HTV3 re-dubbing many of the Pokémon cries (except for Satoshi's Pikachu), despite that the Pokémon names are the same as in the Japanese version they are using.
When the XY series aired on VTV2, the show had two time slots. Half of an episode (approx. 12 mins.) is aired from Monday to Saturday at 05:45pm, while full episodes (approx. 25 mins.) are aired on Saturday and Sunday at 10:40am. I mean...what TV station does that???!
The Vietnamese dub had original music sung by Vietnamese artists such as “Eternal Friendship”, used for both the opening and the ending for the XY series, “By My Side” used for the ending theme in movie 19, and “Best Friend” were used for the ending theme in movie 20.
Tumblr media
In other ASIAN COUNTRIES DID YOU KNOW?
In South Korea (헤이! 포켓몬 마스터), the Korean dub has banned 20 episodes so far, including the ones banned in Japan. These banned episodes usually included overt references to Japan and Japanese culture, especially the early episodes from the original series. This is due to the rocky history (bad blood) between Japan and (South) Korea after Korean Independence at the end of World War II. What’s really weird is that the Korean dub is actually based off the original Japanese version. Despite that, many of these unaired episodes were released on DVD.
In Thailand (มาจับโปเกม่อนกันเถอะ! ma jub pokemon gun ter!), the Thai dub was very inconsistent during the first couple of years airing the series on television. It aired on Modern Nine TV around 2008, but disappeared on the air since then. The anime then reappeared again in April 2010 with the start of the DP series. Currently ongoing is the Sun & Moon series (licensed by True Corporation and True Visions) that airs on weekends.
In Singapore, the anime mainly airs the English dub from the United States, however in the twentieth movie (I Choose You!), the ending theme was replaced with a song called “Future” by an artist known as Beverly.
In Indonesia, is one of the few countries that aired BOTH the English dub and the original Japanese episodes (with their Indonesian subs). Their dub is mainly based on the Japanese version; however, the proper names from the English dubs were used. On another interesting note, an episode that featured Shaymin in the DP series aired on January 8, 2012; coincidentally enough, was also the Indonesian movie TV premiere of Giratina and the Sky Warrior that aired later on that day.
In Malaysia, the Malay dub of the Diamond & Pearl series was based directly on the Japanese version, however as the production progresses toward the next sage, the Black & White series of the Malay dub was based on the English dubbed version. Today, the Sun & Moon series is currently airing in English with Malay subtitles every Saturday afternoons.

P J a shipper? SHIP-A-THON ‘18
𝒫𝒶𝓇𝓉 𝒱
My case in Kalos:
Tumblr media
AmourShipping / SatoSere (Ash/Satoshi & Serena): Okay I’m pretty sure I don’t even need to say it, but THIS THE MOST CANON ASH SHIP WE WILL PROBABLY GET! When XY was first announced 2013, and read the bio for Serena’s character as a “childhood friend” of Ash’s I WAS STOKED. I said to myself back then, are we actually going to have a traveling partner that has a confirmed crush on Ash? The series definitely did not disappoint on delivering this shipping fan service, especially on Serena’s part, but at the same time I was glad that her character wasn’t fully focused on it as well because of her own development as a Pokémon Performer. Ash’s attitude helped Serena motivate herself on doing better, and never giving up no matter if she wins or loses. Every moment and interaction they had were glorious, and loved every second of it! When an episode of XY starts, amourshippers are always on the lookout! Favorite moment - A lot of moments to mention, but without a doubt my favorite is the childhood flashback scene where they first met at Oak’s Summer Camp. Poor baby Serena scared out of her life with that boo boo, until Ash came along and helped her up! That moment when he had her in his arms, I KNEW THE INTERNET WAS GOING TO EXPLODE. As an active member of serebiiforums during the premiere of that episode, it was definitely the talk of the town under the anime section! Wherever you go there it was an AmourShipping frenzy, and from there started this craze of a ship.
Tumblr media
DiodeShipping / SatoShito (Ash/Satoshi & Clemont/Citron): Clemont and Ash is probably my favorite friendship among his male companions. I know I said that Cilan was the best tag team partner, but I feel that Clemont has a stronger brotherhood with Ash. I mean they sleep together in the same tent, Ash always clings his arms to him every time he’s proud of something Clemont does, and Ash geeks out on EVERYTHING he makes despite it exploding later on. Like with AmourShipping, Clemont looks up to Ash and drives him to never give up with whatever trials he may face in order to achieve his goals. They’re either blood brothers or gay lovers...you decide?! Favorite moment - 100% their gym battle! It was fun, intense, and a huge development for both characters. Needs more bro hugs ;D
Tumblr media
GeekChicShipping / ShitoSere (Clemont/Citron & Serena): This ship is definitely adorable for its own reasons! You have kind outgoing girl, and cautious nerdy boy who both are struggling with self-confidence in order to achieve their dreams. This ship definitely had its respectable moments when Ash wasn’t around in the group. In fact, it was I, the PokémonJesus, who created the first ever GeekChic thread in serebiiforums back in late 2013. Favorite moment - Instead of a moment, I would like to point out the fact that they both know how to cook?! Clemont makes the main dishes, and Serena specializes in the deserts. They are basically the dad and mom of the group xD Ash and Bonnie would not survive without them!
Tumblr media
TinhYeuDichThucShipping (...yes that’s what this Kalos quad ship is called I am not even kidding when I did my research): No offense to Brock, May, or Max, but I definitely to prefer this quad pairing over them. The Kalos quad all have their fair share of interactions (as mentioned above), and I’m pretty sure Bonnie looks up to Ash and Serena as older siblings as well! I was also low-key hoping for her to have like an innocent kid-crush on Ash so maybe she can tease Serena with it, but I’m fine with how they interacted. Clemont being the good big bro he is, and the sisterhood shown between Bonnie and Serena were an awesome dynamic (same goes with Ash and Max in AG). With Ash being the definitive leader for this group (since their really isn’t an older figure or Clemont is just short), the most important trait of all is that the three of them look up to Ash, and they can all learn together from him, cheer him on, and maybe even be as strong as he is. Ash fan club jokes aside, I can see these four living in a small peaceful cabin somewhere in the fine forests of Kalos where they seek new adventures every day and help Pokémon in need (no, I don’t write fanfics).
Tumblr media
MarissonShipping (Alain/Alan & Mairin/Manon): Now this is one of the more unique shippings that you don’t see quite often from looks alone. I honestly would not think that the two main characters from the Mega Evolution specials would have much have a bigger role once the XY&Z arc started. Their relationship definitely had a rocky start since Mairin just looked like a stalker following Alain around for no apparent reason. Eventually he softened up to her by Act III (I think?) after Mairin protected him from the Mega Evolution chaos that was happening during their trip in Hoenn. And if you think about it, Alain entered the Kalos League BECAUSE of Mairin and her sick Chespin. If it wasn’t for this ship maybe Ash could have won the League. Mairin is that type of girl that bugs the boyfriend if she can go to her favorite store in mall, and Alain will probably be “oh fine alright” and buys her anything she wants because that’s how much he cares. Alain doesn’t really wanna show his affection much compared to Mairin, but that’s what I like about this cute ship. Favorite moment - The first hug they shared at the end of the 3rd act Mega Evolution. That pretty much sold the ship to me <3
Tumblr media
Honorable mentions: As you can tell by my low quality picture collage skills, I do think Serena would make the most girlfriends among her friends/rivals xD Serena and Shauna was a relationship I looked forward to because of how I loved Shauna’s in-game character’s relationship with the player in X/Y. It pretty much as the same vibe with Serena and Aria being performer GFs and taking about how pretty cool they can be when it comes to outfits and stylish performances with their Pokémon. Serena and Miette however is a more aggressive relationship because of them fighting over flirting with Ash. Of course Ash still has no clue whatsoever, but it’s just funny how he’s the innocent little boy in all of this. Serena and Mairin are the best girl power BFFs support to their boys, and wished that they interacted more prior to the Kalos League. But what about Serena’s adorable Pokémon? Before evolving, I always thought that her Fennekin would be more closer to Ash’s Froakie. Would have made AmourShipping even greater! But Serena’s Eevee and Clemont’s Bunnelby were the adorable Pokémon ship for this series. Poor Eevee was scared of everyone’s Pokémon EXCEPT Bunnelby whom she’d hide behind him every time especially when Chespin tries to be friendly xD I can’t remember but I think there were a few interactions of them after Eevee evolved into a Sylveon. Moving on to the gym leader side of things is Viola and Grant’s cute relationship. It wasn’t seen in the games, but it was clearly obvious that these two could be more than just friends. Probably my favoritegmy leader shipping if you ask me. Ash and Korrina had a good dynamic too when she was temporarily traveling with them, and the group even admitted that the two are alike!(maybe just in hunger I don’t know lol) But let’s not forget Shōta’s senpai treatment to Satoshi. I think he is really the first rival that actually looked up to him and wanted to beat him respectfully. This boy has a handful of notes about Ash, and I’m not even surprised if it’s not just the battling styles and strategies found in that little note book of his ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
