!!! FORMING A GAL CIRCLE !!!

Hello! TYSM for clicking on this post please give a chance to read it or just boost in order to support it, it would be sm(even if your not interested). (ToT) <3 I've been trying for a while to form a gyaru circle in Maryland (the more populated area's of the state) without social media because it's more safe but it's proven a challenge soo I'm trying online (only a few people have been found)! My goal here is to create a community for gyarus in Md or just anywhere in the states!

There don't seem to be many Gal-circles in the US so it may present a challenge, but it's still very doable! A good example of a successful gyaru circle in the west is a group based on the East Coast of the USA; 109-DEGREES (They're super cool and have great style and are on insta!)

What will we be doing as gal circle?

-Building a community and finding new friendships

-Sharing gyaru content and just having fun with talking abt gyaru and the message and culture behind it!

-To go out and do Gyaru activities as a group!

Haaady Gyaru is a substyle of gyaru that was popular during 2005 to 2009, and focused on blending American and British styles with gyaru fashion.

Haaady Gyaru is a sub-style of Gyaru. Haaady comes from the Japanese word Hade (派手), meaning flashy or in-your-face!

Haaady was a short-lived style that began around 2006 and peaked in popularity around 2009. It was coined by Kaoru Watanabe and is largely associated with her and her fashion brand JSG [1]. The style mostly fell out of popularity around 2011.

The style combines Gyaru makeup and culture with American and British rock and hip-hop styles, along with popular fashion and makeup styles from the 1980s.

Hair is often, but not always, bleached

Curled, crimped and straight hair, sometimes seen with colorful hair extensions

Classic Gyaru eye makeup, with emphasis on bright, neon colors

Light to medium tan is popular

Focuses on neon colors, leopard print, skull print and rainbow patterns

Hoodies and larger layers popular towards the end of the style's popularity

Gyaru

Gyaru or "Gal", in the English translation is a style that began in Shibuya Tokyo in the 90s. The typical Gyaru took inspiration by the Mcbling and Y2K era of western fashion. With bright colours and loud sounds, the Gyaru fashion movement inspired movement and dance. The key trends of this style are large hair, bows, colourful and girly accessories, long nails with charms, leg warmers and large eye makeup.

Some of my favourite subcultures of this style is:

Ganguro. This is the most extreme style of gyary incorporating the classic gyaru silhouette but with extreme tanning coupled with bright white makeup around the eyes and on the nose (often referred to as "Manba" as in panda), neon clothing and long nails and blonde hair. A summer atmosphere is replicated through this style with its stereotypical Hawaiian motifs such as hibiscus flowers and Alba Rose coats being a staple.

Hime and Himekaji. Based around a princess-like atmosphere. Accompanied by floral prints, ribbons, lace and pearl details. Gaining popularity in the 2000s-2010s through its extreme over the top girly appearance. The colours used are mostly pinks, white and beiges, along with accessories such as fur on boots, Mary Janes, headwear such as large bows and pearl chains.

Kogal. This style originates from shoolgirl attire and teenagers wanting to push away from strict uniform policies. This style surrounds a school uniform but decorated with slouchy tube socks or leg warmers, a tan, pink schoolbags with keychains, dyed hair and big eye makeup. Initially poorly viewed and worn by "delinquents" at the time of popularity.

Further substyles of the Gyaru style are: Agejo, Gyaruo, Shiro Gyaru, Onee Gyaru, Haaady Gyaru and many more.

My preference in styles is: Amekaji, Amuraa, Haaady, Rokku, Goshikku, Nanchatte (Kogal style) and anything that’s more towards heisei era styles old school like, anything gyaru-kei!

I even go with Y2K aesthetic as well as leaning into mcbling and some other essences of that y2k umbrella! i always try my hardest to express myself the way i do with the things i really love!!
