The thing that bothers me about the whole Tumblr self-destruction:

Is that some of these people have been on Tumblr for years.  

I found one NSFW blog, where they were thanking their followers for sticking with them for 7 years. 

...7 years  

If @staff really wants to make itself more of a “positive place”, then maybe they could actually do what people have been asking for for fucking forever, and delete some of these porn bots and hate blogs. The NSFW side of Tumblr is a complex and widespread place, and people aren’t joking when they’re saying that Tumblr is about to delete 50% of their user base. Tumblr is all about expressing yourself as much as you can, right? Unless you’re interested in sex and sex culture, of course, that’s too much.  

It's not the personally-managed porn blogs that are spamming comments and reblogs, it's not the personally-managed porn blogs that are messaging and automatically following minors, it's not the personally-managed porn blogs that ask you to "cLICK T0 S33 H0T g1RLS W1TH0UT T0P5."   

But apparently that doesn’t matter to @staff that people are using Tumblr to express their interests, because now thousands of blogs are about to be wiped out for simply showing some more risque content. 

It’s not even like personally-managed porn blogs are being pushed here on Tumblr. Safe mode is automatically enabled when you download the app, and again, the real problem here are the porn bots. Again though, clearly the staff at Tumblr could care less. 

Hey, fun fact: I don’t even frequent porn blogs, in fact, I’m a raging-ass asexual, but this still pisses me off, because I can only imagine how it would feel to be told that my content was no longer welcome on Tumblr, the weirdest fucking place on Earth. 

If you’re as upset about this as I am, then don’t forget to protest on December 17th by logging off for 24 hours at exactly 12 AM EST, 9 PM PST, 10 PM CT
