More predictions on the next ACOTAR book:

Gwyn herself is going to be an Elriel stan. I think Gwyn and Az ARE going to develop a relationship but it will be platonic. It’s going to be maybe a little romantic coded at first, but then Gwyn is like “actually I do not want a man right now lol” and Az is gonna be like “yeah I am trying to move on from someone tbh and you are really cool but can’t stop thinking about her”. And Gwyn will be like “whooooo is the girl 👀” and then Az will explain and Gwyn will hype him to make moves with Elain. And when Az and Gwyn are hanging as friends, everyone in the IC will be like “soooo what’s up with you and Gwyn?” And they will have to keep explaining its platonic.

And ofc bc it’s SJM, right when Azriel decides that he can’t stay away from Elain anymore and Gwyn is like “go get your girl Az”, he is gonna go look for her and she is going to have been taken by Koschei or something and they are going to have to fight their way out together. And koschei will be the one to reveal the mating bond (see previous post about my mating bond theory). The mating bond going to SNAP into place when they are both in danger and then they will get their cute kiss scene and it will be adorable. And ofc once Koschei is defeated, Lucien and Vassa will have their lil moment too

Do you ever think about how is Az ends up with Gywn and Elaine ends up with Lucien, that both Az and Elain will be with partners that they will have to learn to navigate/ help navigate through the trauma of their SA.

I imagine this will be difficult for them in different ways.

Elaine had only ever been with/loved 1 man before and given her upbringing, maybe she's never even considered something like that could happen to a male, let alone a fae male.

And I can't think of how Lucien would even begin to tell her. Sure she's his mate, but after going so long being rejected by her I don't expect he'd find it easy to reveal this vulnerability to her and expose another potential reason for her to reject him again. And if he has nightmares anything like Rhys does, I imagine it'll be revealed at some point if they get close in that way.

And for Az, if I recall correctly, he's canonically the kinkiest of the bat boys? Now I have no doubt that he can be a gentleman-gentlemale in a relationship with Gywn and that he'll respect her and be willing to go at her pace when/if she decides she wants a sexual relationship with him as well. What I worry about for Az is that he'll feel like he had to hide his kinky side from Gywn so as not to trigger her and that kinda recreates one of the big problems with his potential relationship with Elaine: he hides the 'bad' parts of himself from her.

Az makes himself less of himself to be good for Elaine, to be the gentlemale that she got to know, his shadows even shrink back from her. But there's no way for that to work long term. It would just lead Elain feeling betrayed because Az lied to her about himself and Az would feel betrayed for being rejected when she learns about the real him.

So yeah, I think it's be important for Az and Gywn to have a good talk about their boundaries, expectations, preferences in regard to sex before it goes in that direction for them. But that's also something that would be a good practice for anyone.

I'm so glad Feyre put her food down with Nesta. She needed it because she was destroying herself. Now hopefully she will make something of herself with this new life of hers.

Nesta and Cassian are reminding me of Feyre and Rhysand in the beginning- just meaner lmao

..and just when I'm liking Nesta, she goes and tells Feyre about the baby having wings and the risks it poses to Feyre and the baby. I know she needed to know, but not like that and definitely not from Nesta.

And here's when things get out of order because I had given up writing down my thoughts. Oops.

I'm glad Nesta found her own unit with Emerie and Gywn. Training to become Valkyries was awesome!

I'm on the fence about Eris. Do we like him.. do we not?

Nesta finding the Harp and going up against Lanthys with Cassian in the prison was so cool.

Nesta finally confronting her grief and guilt.. and apologizing to Amren. And then Amren welcoming her back to the Night Court. Ugh my heart.

I was so pissed the girl were kidnapped and thrown into the Blood Rite. But I'm glad they fucked shit up like the badass bitches they are.

When Feyre went into labor and Nesta gave up her power to save her, Rhysand, and the baby. My fuckin' heart broke!

I was so happy that she realized Rhys was her brother and that the Night Court was her home and she had a place with all of them.

The stale fuckin' biscuit to accept the mating bond had me giggling.

If Cassian told me to grab the headboard, I'd be a fuckin' goner.

All in all, I went from hating Nesta to liking her. This book was a fuckin' rollercoaster of emotions.

the fact of the matter is every single servant seen in acotar are coded as people of color and those they serve are white. that is an intentional hierarchy sarah set up and compounds on in every single book. the only thing we know of alis outside of her service role to tamlin, and eventually feyre, are her nephews and the fact that she had a life before spring. there is quite literally nothing about the twins that exists outside of their role of servitude.

we do not know when and where they were born, their parents, any non-shallow explanation of their powers or abilities, their beliefs, their wishes, any personal anecdotes. they exist as people as much as rhysand’s sister does which is to say not at all. so yes it is very weird to set them up as elain’s “friends” who will train her as a spy, role of servitude, set her up with azriel, role of servitude, or dress her, role of servitude.

Modern Azriel Headcanons

[I saw @shadowriel make a modern Azriel aesthetic and some Headcanons came to mind. And of course I had to sprinkle in some Gwynriel…..]

Azriel loves cars. Driving them. Working on them. Whenever he wants to be alone you can find him in his massive garage tinkering or modifying his cars.

He lives alone in an old manor with a massive library. He has two cats. Noir and Blue. They’re mostly found in between the bookshelves in his library.

He plays the piano beautifully. He doesn’t like doing it in front of an audience but he makes an exception for his family.

Nobody can beat Azriel at Chess. Only Gwyn,Rhys and Cassian have come close but nobody has managed to win against him yet. Gwyn refuses to accept defeat and Azriel regularly teases her about it.

He’s an amazing cook. His mom taught him and whenever she visits you can always find them in the kitchen together experimenting on a new dish.

He wears mostly black and muted colors. Navy blues and dark greys. The only time he wears color is when he wears the neon yellow sweater Gwyn bought him as a joke.

He loves collecting art. His home is filled with old paintings. Some of them came with his house and the others he bought in numerous auctions.

He loves rainy days and spends them reading or writing new music. Gwyn comes over sometimes and she’s the only person he shares new music with.

He wears glasses when he reads and looks 10 times hotter with them.

I need Feyre to leave Rhys and open a little art studio, with an attached cafe that Elain runs and for Nesta to have a dance studio right next door. It'll be known as the Archeron street and there's a little park with a lake outside that Feyre takes Nyx to everyday with her sisters.

Then Gwyn and Emerie start coming over. And Gwyn starts taking classes at Feyre's studio. Feyre shows her all the niches of painting, and Gwyn loves listening to her voice so much that she sometimes doesn't even understand the assignment being given because she's too distracted counting the freckles on Feyre's face.

And Gwyn learns what Feyre's favorite coffee is from Elain, so Gwyn starts buying her a coffee every morning. She hears from Nesta that they go to the park every afternoon so Gwyn starts 'running into them' but she actually planned it that way so she could see Feyre again.

Anyway, Nesta, Emerie and Elain catch on, so they start setting up little romantic dates for Feyre and Gwyn and now Feyre's falling in love with this beautiful woman who's so sweet and kind and perfect, but neither of them know how to make the first move.

So, at a family dinner, the two of them are talking and making eyes at each other the whole time and Nesta is fed up, so she finally slams her fist on the table and tells them to just kiss already.

And they do. And they start dating. And the get married. And they have a happy ever after. And they always go down to the park to eat lemon tarts and have picnics.

And Nyx loves both his moms so much.
