❀ Note So I decided to write an alternate ending to that Gyutaro comic that's been going around. I won't share it here because I don't want to post someone's art without their permission, but I've seen it all over Pinterest. If you haven't seen it, basically Gyutaro is working in a garden and three girls shout to him from their window. They ask him to come up and hang out with them. He becomes flustered and says, "Wait... really?" and then they say, "You really thought we were serious?" and start laughing at him and making fun of him, calling him a loser - causing him to run away in embarrassment. When I first saw that comic it broke my heart so I had to write something to give Gyutaro the ending he deserves.

He shouldn’t have been so gullible. But can you blame him? Girls never notice him, or if they do it’s always in a negative way. So the one time some cute girls asked him to hang out with them, of course he got excited. But it was just a cruel joke. 

After being so cruelly embarrassed, Gyutaro scurried away in a hurry. Trying to hide his tears so as not to embarrass himself further. 

He sits under a tree, away from view, and cries. Sobbing into the sleeve of his yukata, 

“I’m so stupid…” the boy whimpers. 

The weight of it all bearing down on him. He’s going to be a joke forever, isn’t he? No girl would show kindness to him, let alone give him a chance. As he soaks his yukata with tears his heart gets crushed by the rejection. 

Until someone’s voice calls out to him, “Hey! Garden boy!”

He looks up and sees a beautiful girl coming his way. He quickly wipes his tears and tries to hide the fact that he’s been crying. 

“Wh-what do you want?” 

“I wanted to join you, is that ok?” you say with a smile.

“No, I’m not an idiot,” he frowns, “I-I won’t fall for it again!” He tries his best to stand up for himself.

Your cheery expression shifts to one of sadness as you sit beside him, “Listen, I saw what happened.”

Gyutaro feels even more embarrassed now, knowing that you saw how he was rejected by those other girls. He wishes he could just hide and never face anyone again.

He looks down and says nothing, utterly ashamed. 

“Don’t listen to them, any girl would be lucky to spend an afternoon with you.” You gently place your hand on his shoulder.

“You’re lying… I’m disgusting… I’m a loser,” his voice quivers and his eyes begin to fill with tears. 

“No, you’re not! I’ll prove it to you.”

He quirks a brow and stares at you. What could you possibly mean?

You lean forward and kiss him. Softly pressing your lips against his. 

Immediately his entire face turns red. He can’t believe that just happened. If anything was going to shut up his insecurities, it would be a kiss from a cute girl. 

“I-I…” he stutters. 

You chuckle, “I’ve had a crush on you for a while. I never said anything because I was too shy. But when I saw how those girls treated you I felt like I had to say something.”

“A crush? On me��?” his eyes widen and he stares at you in disbelief. 

You nod, “I’ve watched you tend to the gardens here for a while,” you say shyly, “I think you’re really cute.”

This definitely made up for the embarrassment he had gone through earlier. Not only are you cuter than those other girls, but you’re really sweet too. Other girls don’t even come close to him because they find him too repulsive. But you actually kissed him! So there’s no doubt in his mind that your words are true. 

“W-Well um… I wouldn’t mind hanging out with you sometime,” he says as he shyly rubs the back of his neck. 

“I’d love that! I live in the blue house over there,” you point to the other side of the garden, “You should come by when you’re done working.”

His face heats up as he imagines visiting you at your home, “O-Ok, I’d like that.”

Before leaving you give him a kiss on the cheek. 

Excited to see you again, he quickly gets back on his feet and works like he was never rejected in the first place. Honestly, he’s never worked so fast.

For a short hc in that cute Demon Slayer au and separate please, how do Daki and Gyutaro view their new mother while growing up?

This is the AU we're talking about for anyone confused!

The one that would take the longest to warm up to her between two would be Gyutaro. We can't blame him though, living in the streets and witnessing his own birth mother try to kill him and his sister would make him question everyone's intentions.

Ume would be the easiest though. She is still young so having someone* coughcough all the demons* doting on her would make her both shy and happy since she never had those before! She would love to dress up and show her outfits off to her mother and 2516358629 uncles, don't tell the others but she likes her mother's loyal friend the most and even sees him as a father figure hehe

( When she learnt they weren't together, she was sad for days and tried to get them together), running on the long halls and laughing, wearing and failing to wear her mother's crown...

( The King of Hell definetly spoils her because she is his first granddaughter... (duh) As soon as he learns that she was trying on her mother's crown, he would create the most shiny green crown for her!)

It would take a long time for Gyutaro call her mother but when he does, after her proving that she wasn't gonna give up on them and seeing how she worked hard to satisfy their needs, Gyu would eventually call her "mom" shyly, she would actually shed happy tears and hug him tighter.

Ume would call her mother after warming up enough which would take one or two weeks but their mother would never pressure the kids to call her that since she knew what happened to them.

A Futile Fate (A Gyutaro x Rasshu short)

Something irks Gyutaro’s head as he sits with a Hashira bundled up on his lap. Nothing special today, just like every other day it seems… Rubbing his rough fingers across the lady sleeping in his lap, he cracks a smile but then it fades.

“Why… why did the gods gift me with such a woman… what a futile future you’d have with me…” *groan*

Gyutaro’s self doubt is setting in again as he wonders how and why such a nice lady would ever fall for him. Even if its been 2 years since they were together, he often cant help but believe that this is all a trap, a lie, anything but the truth. Its hard for someone like him to truly accept that he has a silver lining worth loving but like most people, that usually is the case. Running his fingers in the coarse hair of the hashira, he begins to massage her head while he thinks out loud.

“You’re disgraceful, you know that… A hashira trying to prevent a powerful demon from gorging on humans by enslaving him in love… bending him to your moral needs… How could you really even love someone like me!? I should just eat you now… but I cant…”

Scratching his neck, Gyutaro agitatedly looks at the sleeping hashira in anger. She doesn’t love him, no one could, not even himself… so how could she?… This was a normal thing that Gyutaro did, he would find something that makes him happy but then he’d tarnish it due to his self sabotaging tendencies. In his mind, he feels like he doesn’t deserve any form of happiness so when he gets it, all he can think of is how long will it take for that happiness to abandon him… so with agitation in his dreary eyes, he looks at the hashira’s black and tan hair as he wonders when she’ll leave him too…

Shifting in her sleep, Rasshu begins to latch on to the demons waist as she nuzzles her face against his stomach in comfort. Peering down at her, she looks distressed as her brows furrow from her dream… Subtly, Gyutaro hears her barely audible whines as he carefully brings her up to his chest and gives her a warm hug. Being lifted from her nightmare just to be embraced by warm feeling, Rasshu begins to calm down as her body relaxes once more. Seeing this, Gyutaro momentarily realizes how important he might be to her; hes someone who protects her and loves her, someone who wants her to be happy, someone who can control her futile future and create a better one.

His heart irks a bit as he’s overcome with a sense of belonging, tightly hugging the hashira in his arms even further! So tightly that Rasshu wakes up from the sudden pressure! Shocked that shes stuck in a hug attack, Rasshu tries to pull away from the mushy affection but Gyutaro lets out a devilish chuckle as he begins to kiss the lady’s golden skin. This is what happens when you fall in love with an unlovable monster! You slowly die from constant love attacks! Enjoy your futile fate!

What do you call each other: Well, for the Obey Me boys, it’s similar to what I have OC call them. Moonbeam for Belphie, food names for Beel, with an emphasis on Beezy instead of Beelie Bug...Mammo-Chan and Tannie as well. Simeon is the only difference since she doesn’t date him, and I call him things like Angel Boy, Halo, Pen Pal when I’m being funny lol. For Taro, it’s obviously Taro or Taro-Chan, also Pretty Boy, and Beetlejuice when I’m feeling feisty.

They all call me Risa for short, but as far as other nicknames go...

Taro: Shortie, Witch, Pretty, Little Mouse

Belphie: Starshine, Star, Little Lamb

Beel: Lady Bug, various food names (honey bun and sweetheart are his faves), Beautiful

Who confessed first: Beel lives and breathes I love yous so he barely even waited for that, so early that I was very flustered by it. It slipped out of Mammo on accident, but I said it back right away. Tannie did his best to confess really romantically, at like a coffee shop with my hands in his, but he was shaking the whole time. Simeon confessed similarly but successfully pulling off the romantic, like literally something out of a romance novel—it was under the moonlight on a summer night, walking along my favorite beach...he was nervous and conflicted about admitting it, but calmed down quite a bit once I said it back. I confessed to Belphie and Taro—Belphie waited until we were nearly asleep in bed before he whispered it back, and I still haven’t gotten Taro to crack and say it yet. He was pretty shaken up by it the first time, and didn’t really believe me. But right now, he only says things like ‘I don’t know why’ and ‘something’s wrong with you’, and then immediately follows them up with a kiss, so I’m taking that as progress ^_^

I want to tell Dabi I love him...but I don’t think it’s a good idea. And Sukuna???????? I will go into the grave before I tell him I love him. This is a dominance game.

How long you have been together: Well out of these boys, I’ve been with Dabi the longest. 5 Years I think?? We’ll say 4 1/2???? [jfc I’ve been watching mha for 5 years???????] The Obey Me boys and I are coming up on our first anniversary (eeeeeee!!!!), Pretty sure I met Sukuna only a few months after the Obey Me boys, I’m gonna say like three months after???, so he’s almost a year too, and Taro I’ve only been dating for like a month or so I believe, almost 2!!!!

Are you affectionate: yes rip to all these edgy/tsundere motherfuckers (minus Beel and Simeon who thrive on this shit) cause I am smooching and hugging and cuddling and loving and making them lean or kneel down to my level every time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Living together/married: Nobody in this group has reached husband status yet, so we’re still in the bf/gf range. Taro’s the only one who’s staying with me full time—he stays in the basement during the day. Beel, Belphie, and Mammo are there as much as possible, but they do still have to go back home for RAD attendance and other Devildom duties (and sometimes I go with them instead!). Satan is there less, but still pops in pretty often, and Simeon I usually have to go see myself if I want to see him more than just for Writers Workshop meetups with him and Tannie. Sukuna and Dabi are usually off doing their own things and we hit each other with the stereotypical ‘wyd’ when we wanna see each other lmao.

Beel’s probably the closest to asking me to marry him and I would say yes at any minute of any day. That stuff’s really important to him so we talk about it a lot. I’m trying to guess whether or not Belphie would still ask me if Beel did, or if he would just say something like ‘If you’re married to Beel, you’re married to me’ and call it good unless I made him lmao.

Kids: Well, I keep saying I’m gonna carry Sukuna’s demon spawns, so I guess that’s happening at some point lol 

Again, Beel and I talk about this a lot so we’ve definitely decided to have kids together at some point. I only want two max, but if I end up having twins right away then I want one more after.

Mammon hasn’t mentioned kids now, and I think he’d be more neutral on the idea, but I promise that if he sees me having kids with anyone else he’s gonna want ‘em lol

And Taro???? Well, obviously we haven’t been together long enough to talk about it, but I’m having a hard time guessing how he’d feel!!!!!!! He’d either be completely against it, convinced he’d be a terrible father and just fuck the kids up and be completely incapable of providing for them, OR he’d be very very into the idea and want lots of kids because a big family means wealth and prosperity

What your friend group looks like: The Obey Me boys all kinda hang out with each other. Beel has teammates and work out friends that he hangs out with sometimes, and Satan has lots of connections so we hangout with them if I’m in the Devildom. Obviously I’m big bros with Levi. Barbatos is my BESTIE in the Devildom and by extension I’m pretty close to Dia, so I always stop by the castle when I visit. On that note, I’m pretty close with Solomon and Luke too from when I visit with Simeon.

One time Toga insisted on meeting Dabi’s “secret lover”, and then she told Shiggy about it, and then Twice, and then Mr. Compress, then Spinner, and then at one point I had the entire League of Villains in the Manor playing cards in my kitchen. Toga and I are besties much to Dabi’s annoyance, so she makes him bring her along quite often, and Shiggy comes around sometimes so I can kick his ass in video games, especially if it means he’s gonna cockblock Dabi for a considerable amount of time.

Sukuna has Itadori. That’s about it lol. Itadori is my precious little bean tho, and sometimes he’s the one dragging Sukuna to my house screaming about “WHY DON’T YOU SPEND TIME WITH YOUR GIRLFRIEND WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU YOU DON’T DESERVE HER” and I make him a pie for being a good boy lol. Sometimes Itadori ditches school on his own volition and comes over with Megumi and Nobara to visit his “aunt” for free pie and video games. I’m maaaaaaybeeeeee a little bit of a softie for the little host boy.

Similar to Sukuna, Taro only has Ume. She lives with us too, and I know people think she’s too bratty and whiny or whatever but I adore her. In fact, she’s warmed up to me a lot sooner than Taro has. She already calls me Onee-chan. We do our hair and nightly face masks in front of the TV while I update her on literary twitter drama and discord gossip and she shows me all the cool tiktok trends. Also bitches at Taro for still keeping me at a distance like Itadori. Snitches on him every chance she gets. “I’m so tired of listening to him whine during the day when he can’t come up and see you. He loves you so much it makes me sick—he’s just being an idiot, you know.”, “WHAT, SO YOU’RE TOO GOOD FOR PRETTY GIRLS NOW???? STOP ACTING LIKE A BUM.” I sleep with them in the basement a lot, especially if we’re the only ones in the house. Sometimes, I wake up with Taro even if I fell asleep in my own bed. He’s just as sneaky as Belphie.

OKAY NOW MY FRIENDS. So, I’m pretty restricted now and in the house more often than not, and spending a lot more time in the manor than normal. Most of my socializing is online. Out of the Obey Me squad, Barbatos comes to visit and check on me when he can, and Luke frequently comes along with Simeon (as long as my more...ahem...Seedier bfs aren’t around lol). My OCs visit in the manor often and of course we got my pets too!!!!!!

How you each get along with your friends: so I did a huge compatibility chart of me and the bfs and how we get along with their friends vs my friends (and everyone who I HC hanging out and visiting me at the Manor). I’m not gonna post it cause it’s WILD long and VERY indulgent, but basically everyone gets along with everyone either average or very well. With the exception of Sukuna. He is the troublemaker and a Plague on this house lmao. Night in or night out: Right now, I’m pretty limited to night-ins. But normally I’m probably 70-30 for indoor vs outdoor dates. I have a pretty even split between extrovert and introvert boys, so normally it’s a pretty balanced diet. Taro, Belphie, and Dabi much MUCH prefer at-home dates, and Beel, Simeon, and ESPECIALLY Mammo prefer to go out. Tannie is more like me where he really only gets the urge to go out sometimes, usually if it’s book or cat related, and Sukuna and I don’t really go on dates (I would sooner choke) unless Itadori drags us somewhere. Which he definitely does.

There’s no pandemic in the Devildom (or the Chaos Realm), so Mammo, Simeon, and Beel can take me whenever they want!

Your favorite date day/night: Game night is definitely my favorite <3 so many of the people I love in the same room, having fun, eating food...and most importantly I know they’re all safe.

I don't get friends easily too so I don't force him befriending them. With Shiu, I don't like him a lot but he buys me soda with the noodles. So ok. Night in or night out: Night in. We're both sleepy mfs. And if we have eaten dinner at a proper time at around 8 pm, then we probably snoring already by 10 because he might be off to work again around 2 am. Your favorite date day/night: We both like street foods so we spend a lot of our night dates just chowing cheap seafood balls and ramen. On free days we take the train to the beach. He likes chilling with a store-bought beer sea side, while I rent a board to surf on. The view, his body is the best view.
