Advice of the day:
Get yourself a ryoba-style saw. I got a cheapish (it was like $30) Gyokucho Razorsaw some time ago, and it makes things so much easier than using a regular full-sized handsaw. Goshdang.

Hello, Would you give me suggestion for a Japanese Saw to cut dovetails in 1" or so American Hardwoods such as Oak, Maple etc. Thank You, Jack Dempsey
I think that the Gyokucho 372 dozuki would be a great choice, if dovetails are all you want to do with the saw.
Alternatively, you could also use a Gyokucho 611 or 651 ryoba, if you want a saw that you could also use for tenons and other joinery cuts. It won't be as nice as the 372 for dovetails, though.
Or get both. I will be the last person to stand in the way of getting more tools.
Here's a more complete explanation of what Japanese saws to start with.

The inside of my tool cabinet is getting a bit of a makeover, still figuring out a method to store my @gyokucho saws...slots in a board or hanging? Also, not my @lienielsentoolworks 5 1/2. Borrowed that from @theunpluggedwoodshop to show the completed till. One day I will have one of my own...one day. #lifegoals http://bit.ly/2KAI3Ic

I've recently reviewed 2 jigsaws from Bosch on YT and today I'd like to #review this #razorsaw from @gyokucho Redoing my DC system called for use of this Japanese #pullsaw. I like that it has wide range of SPM, although it tends to operate on slower speeds. Attempts on using high SPM result in overheating and cooling with the low content alcohol beverages made of hops and barley is necessary. There is no LED to illuminate your workspace and the dust blower doesn't work when you wear a mask. On the bright side, this cordless saw is very light and rather inexpensive. My shop:
-20’6” x 20’6” with a 10’ ceiling. All perimeter walls, except 12’ of one wall attached to my house, are not insulated.
-Garage door is a regular 2 car garage door that I added insulation to. Two kits needed for my door. http://amzn.to/2kTWWrt
-Garage door has wide weatherstripping attached to the outside. http://amzn.to/2kILQmT
-Ceiling above is not insulated.
My local climate:
-I live in central Mississippi which is known to have a high annual precipitation level. http://ift.tt/2mRnDj2;
-Mississippi also has a high average temperature. http://ift.tt/2mRnDj2;
Previous heating:
-Two 1500w electric radiant heaters. They couldn’t keep up with the space. http://amzn.to/2kIExeM
-Two electric radiant heaters + a small propane Mr. Heater one plaque 4,000-9,000-BTU Indoor-Safe Portable Radiant Heater. This worked but didn’t burn as efficient as I had hoped and produced an odor that we could smell inside the house. http://amzn.to/2lp9Ryz
Previous cooling:
-Box fan. Even a steady breeze is still miserable in the high heat and humidity of the Southeast climate.
Current setup:
-QuietSide brand mini split AC & heat pump unit. Model number QS18-VJ220.
-18,000 BTU cooling and 19,800 BTU heating.
-Comfortably cools to low 70’s in the summer time and drastically reduces the humidity in the shop.
-Comfortably heats the shop in the winter time. Although, the lowest setting is 61 degrees which is a little warm for working in the winter time. I’d prefer to work in a long sleeved shirt or light jacket in the winter and remove the long sleeves in the event that I get hot.
-The outside unit is a lot quieter than the unit for my house.
