i dont draw detailed enough to make it not just look as if i cant google what knives look like. and also i havent fine tuned the timeline of her figuring out her technique specifically enough to know when they have it made, besides Definitely after omadd's machine and Maybe after talking to sunspears. BUT in my head the blade of wolfie's dagger is similar to

Zehmik met his first in-game death in WvW. He managed to escape it once at bay by jumping in the water when the assault failed, but he valiantly fell a month later, caught by the enemy during the retreat from another failed assault at the garrison, as he tried to help the rear of the line o7 After that, he went with a small group to assault (the other) bay and kill the lord, but they had just gotten to him when defenses arrived. He still jumped into the water to escape.

Perfectly fits with the vague ideas I had for his first times in the Mist War, AND I guess at this point that he's a very good swimmer. I mean, he was a pirate for a while before that...

inspired by @spartalabouche i wanted to make a little masterpost of my gw2 characters

jynx ghoststep / she/her / thief (daredevil)

jynx is a middle-aged ash legionnaire and reluctant pact commander. her warband has shrunk in recent years but they are still close nonetheless. jynx has a lot of regrets and struggles under the weight of them and also her incomprehensible amount of responsibilities. she is kind of shockingly average once you get past all of her achievements and would really like a break, for once in her life

laika blindwraith / she/they / revenant (renegade)

estranged daughter of the pact commander, laika is a rather impulsive and hotheaded blood legionnaire (aspiring centurion). she is in a warband with her littermate brother and several other younger charr and resents her mother deeply for many reasons including not contacting her until adulthood and being bothered to raise TWO dragons but not her own children. she needs therapy so bad but resorts to talking to kalla scorchrazor in her head and being angry

harrow heartrender / she/her/whatever / necromancer

harrow is a retired ash legion centurion and current hermit who moved to cantha the second it was feasible for her to do so. she is jynx's mother and laika and kyrr's grandmother but she wishes they would all stop trying to contact her. she wants to sit in a cave and fish for the rest of her life and die surrounded by flesh minions

kyrr wraithsight / he/him / guardian

more teddy bear than fighter, kyrr was dragged into his sister's warband at a young age and has spent his entire life making sure she doesn't get herself killed. he has a healthier relationship with their mother and hopes that one day all of them will get along normally

ryker hailsplitter / she/they / warrior and freak

ryker is a member of the iron legion's hail warband and spends most of her days peacefully tinkering with machines. that is, until her legionnaire decided they would follow bangar ruinbringer into war. ryker ends up being forced to become frost legion but survives the entire ordeal

tsaraya / she/her / ranger

this was actually my first ever gw2 character but i just haven't done a ton with her. she is a gladium. i might make her olmakhan in some capacity, i don't know yet! i like her design though :)

och thank you 🧘 uhm... I suppose I haven't really talked about nikita and aki a whole lot, nikita being his younger sister

they were elonian nobles whose family was cut down by joko because they were sunspear sympathizers, nikita and aki managed to survive the attack thanks to the help of some guards though they were separated, supposedly for their own safety. aki ended up being raised in a farm in kourma while nikita was raised in a temple of balthazar, where she became a priestess for him

aki would at some point join the order of shadows where he'd quickly raise through the ranks and become a redeemer and during s4 would form a special task force in which they'd utilize the newly discovered skyscales

nikita for her part would've joined the zhaishen order where she met and became friends with zafirah. during the events of path of fire, she'd question balthazar's actions and even renounce him, but she still followed zafirah and even helped her carry out his will, however reluctant

aki and nikita reunited just before pof after years of being raised apart and though their familial bond held still, they didn't really see eye to eye, mostly due to the disdain of nikita towards the order of shadows and their cowardly conduct of keeping the status quo instead of helping people

uhm other lil tidbits, aki's skyscale is named abha, and nikita had a tigris griffon named na'ilah as well as a tiger named raafe. aki is a deadeye thief and nikita is a spellbreaker warrior

Your character is now the leader of their species, whatever that looks like for them (Arcane Councilmember, Imperator, Royalty, etc). How do they govern and what sorts of changes would they make if any?

Imperator Horncleaver :). I've talked about it a good bit, but Gaius' intentions for Iron largely involve trying to temper the war machine and expose charr to other possibilities. He'd like to make the barriers between legions more malleable, make it so charr are more exposed to the other races, things like that. I think his relationship to the other Imperators (Crecia and Efram in particular) could help with this, and then his former position as Pact Commander as well.

3. What person impacted them the most?

Oddly enough, likely Trahearne--giving Gaius the opportunity and exposure to learn how bad the charr mentality is is what makes him fundamentally different from any other soldier, because without that, he buys into the propaganda machine just as much as anyone else.

5. What would they look like as the side character in someone else's story?

I like to toy around with these aus where he's not commander somewhat often--my favorite right now is Scratch!AU where his daughter with Efram in the normal story is instead the commander, and he is in turn her son with Rytlock (about the same age as Ryland). The big situation with these aus is that like, Gaius as an Iron Legion soldier is very unlikely to change if he stays in the Legion, so there are a lot of ways to go about shifting him around, for example, him being unable to reenlist and staying gladium when he's in his early 20s.

7. Do they have any skills or abilities that their class wouldn't normally have/just go about their class differently in some kind of way?

Gaius' being a spellbreaker who is a mage whose magic allows him to copy or leech off of others' magic is pretty fun in that there's a lot of fun ways to play with it. I imagine his core weaponskills are largely the same dual knife/ knife-sword as they are in game, except when he interrupts a mage, he steals their magic, making them unable to use their profession mechanics while replacing his own with theirs (ie replacing his counters with a virtuoso's bladesongs). It'd last similarly to Firebrand's tome page usages.

Thought I’d post some screenshots of my Guild Wars 2 mains!

First is my Commander, Cypra Oakheart - an Ash hunter who picked up some tricks from the Flame Legion, and later refined her soulbeast skills with the Olmakhan! She’s also the first character I ever created in GW2 when I started playing 8 years ago :)

Next is Arakari Goldrender, a truly massive Blood Legion spellbreaker and gladium. Her warband defected during the Charr civil war to Bangar’s side, but Arakari remained loyal to the Commander, changing her armor dyes from gold and red to gold and teal in support of Aurene.

Here’s a couple bonus screens: the Commander having tea with Rama, his majestic hat, and best-character-ever Gorrik

And Arakari doing what she does best: waiting in line at the DMV and intimidating bureaucrats!

I also have a BUNCH of other max level Charr characters that I still play frequently - I might post about them later :)

Warriors are masters of weaponry who rely on speed, strength, toughness, and heavy armor to survive in battle. Adrenaline fuels their offensive power—the longer warriors stay in a fight, the more dangerous they become.

Channeling their adrenaline to enter a berserk mode. While enraged, they gain access to new primal burst, which offer new ways to gain adrenaline, that flying into a frenzy is never far away.

The broken weapons of the Sunspears have become daggers in the hands of their descendants, which they use to strike at the very fabric of magic and strip it from their foes. They meditate to see past their enemies' defenses, and they use their adrenaline to counter attacks.

lmao I was dragging my feet on doing this. Spent hours on Wuthering Waves... Then spent hours in Guild Wars 2... I just...kinda dreaded going back into Photoshop. Hilariously, Cala's post is very purple. Just like her!

378 hours and 42 minutes for her twelfth birthday. I was tempted to finally change her armor up but couldn't find anything that I liked that screamed Cala. So she stays the same for a little while longer. The song choice though... I will say that I've always thought of Cala whenever this song plays.

My main Commander, Cypra Oakheart (the very first gw2 character I ever made 10 years ago), is ~38 in the present story (at the time of posting this, 1336AE), so that would make her around 27 at the start of the personal story. She spent her early life growing up with the Flame Legion, but due to their misogynistic practices she became a deserter (inspired by Kalla Scorchrazor), and joined the Ash Legion as a spy. From there the events of the personal story and expansions play out as usual, but when Cypra meets the Olmakhan tribe, she bonds with them over their shared past with the Flame Legion. She stays with them for a while and incorporates some sandshifting techniques into her soulbeast fighting style, which she's been using ever since (hence the Olmakhan horns). During the events of the Icebrood Saga she began to bond with Efram Greetsglory over their shared goal of reforming the Flame Legion towards a better future. As a result, she began to re-integrate some Flame-Legion inspired armor pieces and weaponry back into her wardrobe, although her fighting style remains mostly inspired by the Olmakhan techniques.

My oldest alt is definitely Akhthis Raysight - an Iron Legion gladium who became a revenant. I'm not sure how old charr can become, but if they have the same lifespan as a human, I'd say he's about the same age Almorra Soulkeeper was when she died at the end of the Icebrood Saga (my estimate is ~60 years old).

Despite his status as a gladium, he's incredibly well-respected and was a highly sought-out mentor by soldiers in the Black Citadel (regardless of their Legion affiliation). He is usually quite quiet and reserved, but cares deeply about honor and trust. In my mind, he actually acted as Cypra's mentor when she first came to seek refuge at the Black Citadel, and he recommended her to Tribune Torga Desertgrave.

My youngest alt is definitely Arakari Goldrender - a gargantuan beast of a Blood Legion spellbreaker. She's only about 25 in the present day - still just a cub at the start of Cypra's personal story. She is incredibly sweet to those who know her, but to strangers can come across as being one of the the most intimidating soldiers this side of the Brand. Despite her youth, she is a skilled weapons master who never shies away from the front lines. Arakari is incredibly loyal to her Legion, but looks up most of all to the Commander, and is eager to prove herself.

Long story short, after musing about some things, I'm curious about the age of people's Commanders, so poll time it is!

Sorry for excluding sylvari, but they're by default in the younger range (the oldest at that point would barely reach their 20s) and they'd skew the results ;; Feel free to add an (non-sylvari!) OC that is the closest thing to a Pact Commander you have (co-commanders, successors, mentees, that weird dude following them around everywhere, etc), as long as they're active in the Pact during the personal story!

Aurelia is only 36 years old by the start of the game (48yo in current story), but I feel like she's still one of the oldest Commanders I've seen around. And by all means, lemme see your not-young Commanders! Let's have them get together and complain about their backs hurting or something! 👀
