Combat asks for Keres: 2, 13 and 22

Thank you for asking! I always enjoy rambling about Keres.

2. Do they like to fight? Is it something they only do when necessary, or are they always looking for a fight? Is fighting an important part of their life or something they actively try to avoid?

Because Keres is Very Much Blood Legion Charr at the start of the story, she loves to fight. She's very physical in all aspects of her life, even as a necromancer, and she very much starts out as a punch first, ask questions later sort. But! She learns. She goes out into the world and learns that sometimes words are better. And I think, toward where canon is now, she's just. Tired. She's been working hard to unlearn all the Blood Legion Charr stuff, too, so. Yeah.

13. Can they use magic? If yes, what kind? If not, is there a specific reason?

Yes! She's a necro reaper, so she uses death magic like it's second nature to her. She's very comfortable with it. I think she gets MORE comfortable after her own death.

22. What trait lines/specializations do they use? Is there any they can't use for lore reasons?

I haven't played her in a Bit so take this with a grain of salt because my memory is terrible, but I think I have her on minion reaper. I don't remember any other specifics lol. She was the first character I actually attempted to build out AND weave her lore into it, so she's been a minion master since the Fahrar, and spec'ced into reaper because it felt most natural.

yeah it's because i inserted caeru into the FL universe as a half-joke and then by the time i made my light fingers account i was like. oh wouldn't it be really fun if i brought lark back to be caeru's annoying sibling. as a bit. and then greylu's existence in the scoundrelverse spontaneously dawned on me and now a good majority of my FLPCs aren't even original to the FL universe

Silvi Arrowhunter. wolfborn norn but when she was young she hung around the caves in Hoelbrak a little too much and eventually joined the sons of savnir.

When she was older and realized that she was not a boy she was banished from the sons.

she went out into the shiverpeaks to eventually learn how to use the dragons magic to her advantage and formed the Daughters of Jormag. a sons of savnir like group of norn and other races for those loyal to the ice dragon but don't fit into the sons strict criteria.

3) Ask them to describe their love interest.

Generally, Kara enjoys tall, well-built men and short, curvy women, ideally at the same time. Her philosophy is, "You seem fun, so let's do this."

I headcanon Norn as being a very hedonistic, sex-positive race, so any opportunity for boasting and amusement is enthusiastically taken.

As for her specific love interest?

“You are the bane of my existence, and the object of all my desires”

8) Do complex puzzles intrigue or frustrate them?

Both. Definitely both. Kara isn't exactly a Taimi-level genius, but she's pretty smart and does enjoy an opportunity to figure something out...

...for about 15 minutes. Then it's getting hit with her axe and that had better fix the problem.

17) Do they like children?

Kara is generally ambivalent about children until she returns from the Domain of the Lost. She'll help 'em out like she'd help anyone, but she's young and busy and not really thinking about it, for the most part. That said, she is a sucker for Charr cubs and young animals. Is it cute and fluffy and likely to bite her hand off? If so, she adores it.

However, one of the many ways death messes with her body is a complete lack of menstrual cycle. Whilst most of her functions return through the latter part of POF, or at least improve, nothing happens in that regard. It leads to her being fairly certain children are off the table for her whether she likes it or not, and it's the lack of choice stirs up some feelings.

Of course, she knows the Commander's lifestyle is not suited to raising children anyway, and for most of the story, it's not something she even considers.

However, when she finds herself unexpectedly pregnant during What Lies Beneath, she is happy. Fearful for the child, and fearful for her mate's reaction when she returns to Hoelbrak, but happy nonetheless.

Needless to say, her mate is happy too, and from then on she makes spending time at home as much of a priority as being the Commander. She might have diplomatic duties, but she's not about to leave Braham to raise their kids alone. It might be the Norn way, but it's not her way.

30) What would they do if they knew it would be forgiven?

Without a doubt, Kara would tell Crecia what Rytlock said about her that night he drank five bottles of Elonian wine and passed out sucking on his own tail.

She might even tell her the bit about the tail.

4.)What are their short term and long term goals?

Ion's short term goal is to catalog any new animal species he can find in Cantha. Long term goals, he wants to release source books focusing on the different species of each continent and area he has traveled too, talking about their behaviors, appearance, unique attributes, etc. He also wants to find a cozy little farm where he and Akula can eventually retire and raise jungle stalker cubs together.

5.)What do they think would fix the current biggest problem they're facing?

Funding and time to track and study animals. Ion is aware he is one asura,and despite his fantastic tracking and ranger skills, it's hard to be everywhere at once.

9.)What is the pivotal moment in their past that led to where they are/what they're like now?

Oh my god oh my god,Ion lore moment. Ion dropped out of College and leaves Rata Sum entirely after a fellow student (Akula,oh my) found the stalker cub he was hiding in his dorm and snarkily said he should have just killed the orphaned animal instead of trying to save it. When he offers to kill it with his Necromancer magic,Ion snaps and punches him in the face. He scoops up his cat and leaves,never looking back.

What is the character’s go-to drink order?

Mead, it's his favorite thing to drink. he'll never say no to ale, or any alcahol for that matter, but you know which one he'd pick if given the option.

What was their most expensive purchase/where does their disposable income go?

Thorne doesn't really have disposable income, he lost his pay when he 'resigned' from the pact in LWS3. And nobody wants to hire him for normal jobs because he's stupid powerful and people are fairly sure he could snap and kill someone at any time. (This is why he's living with Braham between SotO and JW, and why being gifted Hearth's Glow was such a big deal for him.) He has to be very careful with what he has to make sure his and Ivory's needs are met. He'll splurge on little outfits for her, though. If you want a literal answer, I bought Aurene's Weight the other day off the TP with him LMFAO

What was the last time they cried, and under what circumstances?

It really is a loaded questions. Nightmares? Being patronized by wizards? being given affection? looking at his cat on a bad day and sobbing because shes just so cute? after his magic started to be cleansed, he became a lot more emotional.

Describe the shoes they’re wearing.

Thorne does not wear shoes. He has paws. He wears bandages to wrap them though

What is their favorite holiday?

Dragon Bash! I hc that is was originally a norn holiday about the struggle against Jormag, judging by how one of the 'activities' is burning totems of dragons in front of the svanir. After Zhaitan, it was adapted to include all dragons, but after the disaster in Lion's Arch, it was brought back to Hoelbrak. It was his favorite moot as a child.

4. How was their awakening? Did something particular happen? What's their first memory?

Yvette and Lukas caused quite a commotion upon their awakening, being the first set of twins to bloom amongst the Secondborn, and the Firstborn were fascinated with them and how they looked so different despite hailing from the same pod. Yvette woke up a few minutes before their brother, Lukas, and after a quiet introduction they tried to get out of their pod and stand - to which they promptly collapsed.

There was not a single wound on their body, and yet they consistently struggled with dizzy spells and fatigue throughout the day. To this day, they vividly remember the looks they would receive from their older siblings, and the hushed whispers they would get from their fellow Secondborn. As young as they were, they were yet to understand what the others felt and saw, but they would quickly come to realize what it was - pity.

11. Have they ever changed their own appearance? Was it intentional or due to external factors? Did it affect their glow as well? How long did it take? Would they ever change back?

The twins used to be a more saturated brown, with the leaves on their face more reminiscent of early autumn hues and a lovely amber glow, but the warmth in their appearances would not survive their encounter with the Asura. After weeks spent being experimented on, their overall color became more dull and muted, with the leaves on their face faded close to black, and their glow now a deep indigo. Even as they recovered from their injuries after their rescue, their appearance would never go back to the way it used to.

Yvette's glow changes a second time, permanently, upon their death in the Maguuma. Through their hands and up their arms their glow becomes more pastel and tinged with hints of white, more resembling raw ley energy. The rest of their body is still that deep indigo, and at the elbows is where it gradients into this new color scheme.

17. If they were to turn into Mordrem, what would they look like? Would they manage to turn back? / When they turned into Mordrem, how did their appearance change? Did they manage to fully turn back?

If Yvette had been turned into Mordrem, I'm definitely imagining a Vinetooth/centaur situation. They would still have access to their magics and healing, and now have the lower half of a giant and incredibly deadly monster. It's sick as hell. (points at Falin Dungeonmeshi) Like That.

Lukas was technically turned Mordrem, although the change in appearance only affected his wolf form, and he never fell thrall to the dragon. If you took a Vinetooth and smashed it together with a nightmare wolf and threw in extra eyes and mouths you'd probably get something close to what Lukas can shapeshift into. While before he was turned, he was able to change his form at will, Mordremoth's corruption trapped him in this new body for close to a year, between the events of HoT and LWS3; and he was only able to return to his original self upon finding faith in Wolf, with the guidance of a friend (points at @dotmander's August).

Haha, you know which characters I struggle with. Here you go:

Canach pressed his hands together, touched his index fingers to his lips, and took a deep breath in through his nose. “I’m sorry, what exactly about this do you consider stealthy?”

Rytlock pulled his flaming sword out of the Forged sentry’s corpse with a huff and a painfully loud screech of metal. “He’s dead and there’s no alarm. Looks like stealth to me.”

Canach waved a hand at the front entrance of the massive Forged encampment, which was strewn with dead Forged from wall to flaming wall. “This is not what getting through unnoticed looks like!”

“It does if there’s nobody alive to notice anymore. What do you think I am, Ash Legion?”

Subtlety. Subtlety! This absolute blockhead of a charr with thistle for brains had clearly never heard of it. He might make even Anise burst a blood vessel if she had to work with him. Ahhh… that was actually a lovely image. It soothed Canach enough for him to not start yelling.

“All I am saying is that it would behoove us to play this close to the vest,” he said. “I don’t know exactly what will happen if this entire camp notices us, but I don’t think either of us would like to find out.”

“Oh, I think I would,” Rytlock said, bouncing Sohothin up and down in one hand in a way that made Canach uneasy. Rytlock might not care about singing his perfectly-coiffed fur, but Canach was flammable, thank you very much. “But fine. For the sake of your fragile little twig bones, I’ll try and play it sneaky.”

“My fragile little twig bones and my extremely volatile explosives appreciate it,” Canach said wryly. He hefted his pack and began to make his way towards the nearest door that blocked off the rest of the encampment. If Rytlock wanted loud, he’d show him loud… but in the intelligent manner where they’d be far away from the ensuing commotion.
