I feel like I’ve found my kin, I fell in love with Kakashi when I was like 8 LOL. Can I request some general yandere Zoro headcanons btw? I loved/still love him too 😶
Yes you may ahhh!!!! I love Zoro so much. I love writing for fandoms like this bc shounen anime are... Well, shounen, they're aimed at dudes, so they tend to not have as large of a female audience so there's not a lot of content out there. I love Luffy and there's like zero girl-targeted content for him. I swear I've spent so much time looking for wholesome, decent LuNa (my otp im sorry i just hhhh) doujins that aren't super male-oriented, and there's like... 2. For a 900+ episode anime. 2.
I also love the concept of a yandere in a situation where they CAN'T kidnap you, they're limited by their circumstances, so they have to kind of adjust or go insane. It's an interesting dynamic because it eliminates the norm for yanderes.
I think I mentioned this but I'm not 100% caught up with one piece (I mean, who is?), so I'm just keeping it simplistic and going with kinda basic Zoro and nothing with specific character developments or any spoilers other than his backstory
Yandere Roronoa Zoro (One Piece)
Tws: all the usuals -- yandere, noncon, kidnapping
He meets you while he's lost. I'm sorry I just. Zoro gets lost in the middle of some place they're docked, and you're just such a sweetheart, you see this guy clearly not knowing where he's going, and offer to help him. He's kind of taken aback by your softness and sweetness.
He's not easily made aware of his own feelings. He's a rough and tough sort of guy, and he has dedicated himself to swordsmanship so much that he's neglected to focus on himself and his interpersonal relationships, and he's not really self aware at all of his own feelings, very out of touch with his emotions.
Obviously, even if he tries to shove it down, Kuina weighs heavily on his mind in relation to you. He's another man that has known loss and it's dealt its damage on his psyche. He can't lose another person who's dear to him again.
This results in him becoming insanely protective, one of the most protective yans out there. He's easily one led into paranoia delusions regarding your safety. However, he's an honest and reasonable guy and can be level-headed when confronted. If someone (not yourself, as he thinks you're naive, but maybe another girl like Nami or Robin) tells him he's being overprotective and exaggerating about your safety, he may actually have a moment of self-realization and admit to it. He's capable of being reasonable enough to see it once it's pointed out to him. However... this doesn't stop him. He tries, really, he genuinely tells himself that he needs to stop. But his instincts just kind of take over. It's an impulse, to stop you from doing even the most slightly dangerous things.
Once you join the Straw Hat Crew, he just kinda... clings. It's a silent presence, but he's always there, constantly seems to show up wherever you are. Unfortunately, you can't really... get away from him per se. You're kinda limited to one ship, at least as long as you're out on the sea. Your only option for respite is going to your room or bathing, otherwise, he's gonna follow you, even if he's not saying anything and (very badly) trying to feign indifference, pretending you just happen to be going the same way all the time. He doesn't really know what to say, he's not good with these things, and often he's acting without really thinking too much about it. He won't usually strike up a conversation, he just... is there. Watches. May awkwardly ask a question or make a passing comment.
One scenario I imagine is you jokingly picking up one of his swords and wielding it around giggling and he just flips out, takes it from you and yells at you not to do that, are you an idiot? Do you want to trip and fall and have that impale you? Do you realize how easy it would be for you to slice your arm open by accident? It's startling to both you and anyone watching -- even for someone who gets yell-y as easily as him, it seems like an overreaction. He'll apologize but insist it's a safety thing, really.
And he really tries to hide his more... aggressive nature, because he thinks it will drive you away -- he's a blunt, tough guy with a short-fused temper, and he thinks that's definitely not something women like very much. He tries not to yell at you, not get mad so easy, keep his calm better around you, and might even be nicer to others so that you don't think he's mean. And for the most part, he can manage that. Except when it comes to a very specific, very problematic blonde crew member. His little conflicts with Sanji get worse, to even a point that he's snapping at him so frequently that even Sanji himself is a bit bewildered and caught off guard by it. The others notice they fight a lot more often... and Zoro always seems to instigate it, picking quarrels over the littlest things. In reality, he's afraid of the other's... sleazy nature. He can't have you falling for that bastard. He even starts to get jittery when you're in the presence of Franky, Usopp, hell even Luffy of all people. It's noticeable, and everyone kinda worries for him.
He kicks himself for it as soon as he does it, but he finds himself insulting you nonetheless. It's a terrible habit. He gets so awkward and flustered that it's second nature for him to say something snarky or even rude when you talk to him, and he immediately is just mentally screaming at himself for doing so. This will get a bit better with time, though, if you two talk more often.
Now, even if you can fight, you're never gonna really get the opportunity. In battle, he's clinging to you and protecting you at every moment, even if it costs the others some unnecessary wounds. It's highly uncharacteristic of him, and they notice. He won't leave your side, insisting that you're a weak fighter and that he has to take care of you. You just don't get it, you overestimate yourself, you underestimate your enemies, you're a girl. What, Nami and Robin? Well, they've been at this much longer than you, and they had rough upbringings. You're different. You're soft... fragile. You just can't see it. You're lucky he's here to protect your dumbass.
Due to your setup, well, he can't really kidnap you per se. He undoubtedly would if you two were somewhere else, in another life or another setting, but that's not really an option, and even as a yandere, he would never go so far as to kill or abandon his crew. So, he's stuck with just... slowly, slowly mentally deteriorating.
Now, he's not capable of kidnapping, he's not smart enough to really manipulate you into anything (although he WILL tell you that some of the other guys are out to use you), so, he's left to be the guard dog he inevitably becomes to you. If you avoid him, he'll just follow you. If you don't talk to him, that's ok. If you confront him, he'll just insist he has no idea what you're talking about, and you'll start to feel like maybe you're just paranoid. The others... don't really know what to do, to be honest. I can see Nami/Robin potentially confronting him, but in the end, they can't force him to change his behaviors, and they can't afford to lose him. This results in, gradually, everyone slowly kind of accepting your dynamic onboard. They feel bad for you, really, but... in the end, Zoro's just more valuable to the crew. Sorry. They're not gonna get rid of him, but they don't want to get rid of you either.
If you leave? It may just be one of the very very few things that could ever cause him to leave the Strawhats. It would tear him up, really, it goes against his dreams, his pride, his loyalty, but in the end... his loyalty is first and foremost to you. He'll follow you if you leave. It's a bad move on your part, because this gets rid of the only thing standing between you and kidnapping. Which, at that point, surely will happen. Like his other behaviors, he'll feel bad, he'll try and stop himself, tell himself it's wrong, but you'll end up bound in some dark basement nonetheless. He's one to take a very simple approach. Find you alone, sling you up and over his shoulder and carry you off before anyone can come.
Rejection doesn't faze him. No matter what, he'll remain by your side. Even if you never love him in return. It's just his nature, he's a guardian through and through.
In the end, he'll be right there by your side, scaring off any competitors, clinging to you like glue, ever in your presence like a shadow, forever. Whether you want him to or not. He's just an inescapable force, an unmovable object, and you're wasting your time trying to change your fate.
Now, he's very flustered with anything sexual. Highly embarrassed, lots of shame, and doesn't talk much about it. It just kind of happens. He doesn't talk much during, mostly grunts and the occasional fuck when you clamp down, occasionally asking you if you're ok, if it hurts, if it feels good. It's one of the only very soft sides of him. In the end, he really, truly loves you, and doesn't want to hurt you, he wants you to feel good and just love him. It's a very different side to him, one no one else has ever really seen, it's the most vulnerable he himself has ever been with another person.
He feels shame for it, but initially he'll definitely be one to steal your things, sit outside of your room at night, listening to you through the wall, try and get glimpses of you bathing or dressing. He really, really feels guilty, and he's one that will, once you're comfortably restrained and never going anywhere, just sit down and list out every nasty little thing he's ever done regarding you, just to get it off his chest. He understands if you react badly, and he'll apologize, which is a bit ironic considering how much worse kidnapping you is.
He'll apologize for that, too. He's actually one to do so a lot. He's normally a proud guy, but with this? He knows it's wrong, he knows it's fucked up. He knows he can't stop. And he'll be sorry to the moon and back. Just never sorry enough to stop.
He's actually a pretty vanilla guy. Hand-holding missionary type. And, despite being so embarrassed over it all, oddly romantic about it. It's one of the only things he's ever soft and gentle about, it's almost unbelievable to you that he's capable of being so gentle and slow with anything. But he'll kiss your forehead, really take his time with it all, make you cum on his fingers before ever actually fucking you. Hold your hand, look into your eyes. It would be honestly incredibly sweet if it weren't... you know, taking place in some dark sealed off room after dragging you there against your will.
If he's particularly mad, he can get rougher, but he'll apologize after. It's a lot of harsh grabbing, biting, it leaves bruises that he'll rub over softly, whispering an apology, even if a little part of him likes the way it looks on you.

So…
… I think part of Neal’s problem is that even when he’s not on a con, he acts like he is.
For ex. rewatching Honour Among Thieves and I genuinely don’t think he planned it—or if he was supposed to have planned it, no one told Matt Bomer, which would kinda defeat the purpose. My rationale being that even though no one is watching him, he reacts in genuine surprise to how fast the FBI shows up at the end. Also he had no reason to hide the plan from Mozzie, who would support it, and instead we only see him brooding about the theft—although one could argue that that’s bc of the show’s habit of only showing selective scenes to hide the whole plan, yaddyada…
But I just don’t think he was planning that far ahead. I think he was genuinely upset and stressed about the blackmail and upset at the idea of going behind Peter’s back that he didn’t think that far ahead.
But I also can’t blame Peter for thinking he might have—bc honestly what he should have done, even after she framed him, was just tell Peter. Explain that Abigail was blackmailing him into the job, and hell, they might’ve even helped and made it a bonafide sting. But he doesn’t. Bc Neal doesn’t tell people things outside of emergency circumstances, and it seems to be a habit he can’t break. The fact that he kept this from Peter obviously makes Peter suspicious, bc it makes it seem like Neal planned it. But he didn’t. He defaulted to ‘fixing’ it himself, yet another habit he can’t seem to kick, the not relying on people.
I love the show, and this ep was actually well done on both sides, but at times I do agree that they try to force drama between Neal and Peter a little. I appreciated reading an interview by one of the show runners noting that they were struggling w/ that, which I think become visible a few times bc, to paraphrase ‘why are you still being a jerk to this guy who has done so much for you?’ Matt Bomer makes Neal likeable even in some of his more obnoxious moments (usually when they start going on about how wonderful being a thief is and I’m like… kinda sucks from here, but okay?), but there are occasions were I feel like Neal behaves suspiciously and then gets upset that Peter suspects him of something (not you s3, you and your character development are wonderful and I’m glad you’re here), or Peter gets made to be a bit overly nasty just to cause drama.
Honestly, my memories of the later seasons are kinda blurry, esp towards the end, but from what I’ve seen from other people, they are on good terms at the end, and the whole finale actually isn’t Neal running away to ‘live the high crime life’ again (like I originally thought, hence why I hadn’t really watched it) and is more along the lines of guerrilla witness protection? Bc faking your death and fleeing the city bc you’re trying to protect the people you love from a violent gang is one thing, but ‘waaaaahhh I wanna go back to stealing and using people and only caring about money’ is… Another. If it’s the former, I actually love that, bc it’d show how he’d changed from the start of the show to really start valuing people, whereas the second one just feels like ‘lol conman cool guys.’ Also makes the whole storage container thing (which I do know about) more of a promise of return than a farewell, bc I really dislike the latter.
I don’t care about Neal who only wants adrenaline rushes and money and lying to people bc it’s fun. I care about Neal who is intelligent and maybe a bit vain, impulsive and well meaning, faster talker, quirky, loves his adoptive parents and really needs to meet his new baby brother.
Like if you’re never gonna show me big Neal holding baby Neal, at least let me pretend it could happen eventually.
#White Collar#anyway Neal's a dumbass and I hate the whole 'high life of crime' schtick#Mozzie's lucky he's likeable the rest of the time bc every time he gets on about 'people like us' or whatever#I just#ugh#I hate elitists who wanna prove they're smarter than everyone#like I hated the Gordon Taylor guy I think he's shallow#and I think that shoulda been a comparison made between him and Neal#bc I don't want Neal at the end to be 'look he's a full conman'#I want him to be a better man#not a t swift reference I mean that literally#it's not as interesting if you have your protag just get everything#and it's annoying to just revert them back to the start bc some people think deceiving others is 'cool'#so like I said#I'd rather know it's Neal trying to protect his family and friends than running away from being 'tied down' by… people caring about him???#Adopt a Felon 101

Okay so I've read and watched a lot of material covering speculation as to who the triplets father is/what he meant to the Duck/McDuck family and I gotta say I've been somewhat dissatisfied that not many people consider that maybe Della used a sperm donor to have the triplets bc I think both Della's personality and parts of the show itself support this possiblity over another such as "Della had a husband that she loved but he tragically died before she crashed on the moon".
So, what would motivate Della to have children via a sperm donor?
Her personality: she is an adventurous, brave, and incredibly skilled individual. She's also stubborn, impulsive, and impatient. If "Nothing can stop Della Duck!" Surely, not having a partner to have a child with wouldn't stop her from having one (or three)!
Her Job: Adventuring with her family as a pilot surely would have absorbed quite a bit of her time, even if sometime during it she went to college (like Donald was confirmed to do in order explain José and Panchito). Even if she was an active Junior Woodchuck Ranger Scout when she was a kid, she still might of put off a lot off "normal" kids with her abrasive personality similarly to Webby in S1. Though, I don't think this would have been something that would such an inhibitor once she'd be college aged (even if she never went) bc if it was a problem she'd find a way to fix it. If anything, she just might find regular people boring which leads me to-
Della's family: going on fantastical adventures with your uncle and brother (and possibly your cousins occasionally if hcs are to be believed) can leave finding someone "normal" to settle down with to be underwhelming to Della. Sure, she could always find someone willing to join such high stakes adventures but they might not be what she is looking for in a partner for one reason in another or maybe even more critically, who she wants to be the father of her kids. Plus to Della, why would she NEED some guy to be a father to her kids when she has her family to back her up? They are Scrooge McDuck and Donald Duck. The most brave, trustworthy, and knowledgeable adventurers she knew! Plus they are already family! She knew how to handle them and could raise her boys with 100% control!
In the Show: okay so main reason why the show might support this theory is all the lack of evidence that the boys biological father was ever a person to be considered in helping raising the boys even before Della planned to leave earth. I also think given the season 2 Moon Arc, someone like Lunarius would have totally used an estranged father (someone who either died tragically but the triplets were unaware of or someone who was a deadbeat or even evil) to seperate Scrooges family even more by sowing seeds of distrust. However, when we are shown Scrooges family tree (his hit list) the boys dad isnt even listed. There isnt even a blank box with a question mark in it or anything, he isn't even considered. It is also important to note that Lunarius is specifically targeting the family members that would impact Scrooge and his mystery loving niece and nephew. HDL are who he decides would break down this family dynamic because none of them would want to fight for the earth if their kids weren't alive. They also wouldn't want to know their kids last thoughts about them were filled with anger and confusion over why they never learned about their dad. Therefore the triplets are already aware of their dads circumstance or if they arent, his reveal wouldn't be something earth shattering.
Conclusion: i still highly doubt we'd ever get a straight answer when it comes to their dad. I think the show creators will purposefully leave it ambiguous for fans to figure out since discussing such a topic might be a little too much for a Y-7 show. The most I can see them get away with is a little joke in a future ep(especially if it supports Della was a little *ahem* irresponsible when she dated)...something like: "Well, I'm glad Donald has already taught you when to use a 'life vest'".
Edit: I also think it be interesting to speculate more on what the family dynamics Della and the rest planned to have before she got lost. Like since we know a partner wasn't in the picture, how big of a roll were Scrooge and Donald originally going to play in raising the boys? Would it be Della with supreme reign as a single mom most of the time with help of Donald and Scrooge occasionally as babysitters? Like godparents? Or since they were presumingly living together at the time of her disappearance and Donald seemed to be very protective of her kids (maybe that's just how Donald is with Della and he is up in her business when she intended to raise her way only or he was just over stepping his boundaries at that point but it seemed to me that Donald at least was much more involved in the raising the triplets than "just an uncle" would. To me at least. I also assume scrooge would be just as involved but obviously treat being a guardian of the triplets differently than Donald.)
I posted this at like 3 am originally so sorry if not much of this is very detailed. I hope more people will expand upon this bc its very intriguing to me. Both the part behind who the father is/ what is his significance if he has any and the original roles scrooge and Donald would play in raising the boys (to me this is more interesting since we have more concrete evidence to discuss while it feels like the triplets fathers ID doesn't seem all that important to either the show or the characters up to this point and is just kinda fan filler if that makes sense).
#feel free to comment and speculate as well I love to hear your opinions on this#especially in regards to the possibility of this being answered or you find a flaw in my logic#ducktales#dt17#donald duck#della duck#hdl#scrooge mcduck

OK nancy/quentin is the #1 and i love it to death but... joey/quentin... thoughts... Headcanons... Thoughts??
UHM so, yes, Nancy-Quentin is #1 pure fave & I think Claudette-Quentin is my #2, but I DO have thoughts on this and actually I think Joey-Quentin is my #3??? I might write a short dbd mildly shippy cute Joey-Quentin fic sometime soon bc I’ve have an idea for a while now??? (AU to ILM not like a post-fic)
It’s not my fault, @platinumbered did this too me, but I am so glad it happened. I went to a con last year with my buddy Tyler who cosplays Joey and we did a Quentin and Joey photo shoot for fun and it was not intentionally shippy at all but uhhhhhh
Plus some iPhone photos of my sketch book brainstorming tiny fic lol. Anyway, I like it a lot??? Joey never gets enough screen time, and he’s amazing, and like, I think they could have a really good dynamic? Joey’s the second most sympathetic/humanity retaining Legion member, and he’s a very interesting person. I think they would vibe well together, because Joey’s really not a bad dude at heart, and I think he’s also the kind of person who would both be p likely to make a nice impulse decision under pressure, and to have a hard time not being impacted by nice/kind/honourable people if he acidenttally spent enough time with them to know them a little. He’s got a conscience down there.
Quentin is super justice determinator martyr boy, so he wouldn’t go looking for something positive about Joey, I mean, he’s a killer, so? But I also think Quentin is also a very forgiving person (within reason) like a reverse Mr. Darcy? His good opinion once lost is not lost forever, but rather he is very likely to adjust to new information and be willing to give someone who seems to really be trying or changing a chance. It would be weird, and hard (/any/ killer-survivor relationship would obvs be, regardless of how the killer got there and why they were doing stuff, and p gd unlikely in the first place), but I think if one of them helped the other once, which could happen very easily, because they both would be inclined to make nice/merciful impulse decisions under extremely high pressure extreme circumstances, if they’re making the choice alone—then they would really be good together. They’d be curious why the other did it, and think about it a lot, and not able to act like nothing had changed the next time they saw each other. I think kind of tentatively and slowly, they’d end up reaching out bit by bit, and Joey would grow a more present conscience, and they could get close. It’s really hard? To like, come back from having been a bad person/done something super shitty? But Quentin’s kind of an ideal partner for that, because he genuinely believes in forgiveness and second chances, and goes with his gut, and having someone really believe in you can make impossible stuff a lot more doable.
And I think Joey would help Quentin be more of the upper teen/young adult he’s supposed to be, since they’re the same age, and Joey’s the kind of dude to be really into like, normal, healthy young adult upper teen stuff, and would talk Quentin into doing it and being able to feel like some kind of a youth again, which is super important for him? Like, this poor boy not only underwent massive trauma, but he had to grow up really fast—he was (since movie does not explicitly ever state) either 16 or 17 when Freddy cane back, and he got stuck in the hell realm and killed on repeat, and like? 16-17 is a baby. I mean, not literally, but that’s really young. And he constantly has to be responsible and work hard and be in danger and die and deal with impossible shit, and he’s trying to help all these older people and protect them and act like he’s thirty, but he’s not. He’s still a half a kid that got robbed of the youth he was supposed to have. And has been being damaged repeatedly and mercilessly ever since. So, having someone that would actually /see/ him as the youth he’s supposed to be, and encourage and get him to goof off in a relaxed way, and make that actually okay and safe and possible to do, and not something that would end in punishment and suffering and only reinforce in his head that he’s not allowed to be anything but like, the martyr and a grownup, trying to save everyone else? That would be invaluable to his mental health. And at the same time, he’d encourage Joey, I think, just by being how he is, to be a more responsible and self-sacrificing person, and to just kind of want to be better, and it would be really hard and weird to get to know each other at the start, because of what their lives are, but if they made it to friends or significant others? I think they’d both get to be so much more normal and happy and healthy together. And they’d make a really good couple.
Still cool and hardcore and tough, looking out for each other in a shitty place, but like, for once in his life, Quentin would get to do it a little like a YA protagonist instead of the suffering slow death he lives right now, and Joey would get to actually be a good guy in his own story again, instead of a monster, and like, wouldn’t just suffer for doing it—would be appreciated, and thanked, and more happy too, more okay. And it wouldn’t fix everything for him or Joey, but they’d push each other in good directions, and I think they’d get along. Bond over some music. Trade some indie and prog rock for some 80s power ballads. Both learn again, from entirely separate directions and in completely different ways, that not everybody is as shitty as they seem. Or hopeless or lost cause or bad. Including themselves.
Anyway I have a lot of feelings about this ship so there’s the much longer take than you asked for ;-) 💙💙💙

imperfections (48/?)
read it on ao3!
JUST hit 100k words on this fic (not all of it is posted bc i’m two chapters ahead but! um! still wow!)
Everyone drove out to the Christmas tree lot, but it ended up only being Faith and Jen who went up against the Bringers. Willow, Xander, Cordelia, and Oz were all dozy and comfortable in the backseat, and Giles wanted to stay behind and take care of the sleepy kids, but Jen—well. Jen started up a whispery argument with Giles as to whether or not she was okay enough to fight things, won when she pointed out that “beating up the guys who got Angel to hurt me will really make me feel better,” accepted a hug from Giles, and clambered out of the car to help Faith unload weapons from the trunk.
“I can handle this by myself, you know,” said Faith, thinking of how less than twelve hours ago, Jen had been pale and shaking and holding onto Giles like a lifeline. “You really could do with a break from this shit, after the day you’ve had.”
Jen picked up a crossbow, testing the weight, then put it down with a grimace. She turned to Faith. “Being your kinda-Watcher is a full-time job,” she began lightly.
“Jen, I’ve had a Watcher,” said Faith. “Nine times out of ten they end up dead. That’s not who I want you to be.” She hesitated. Christmas was the time for sappy shit, right? “Do you remember—when Ms. Post said that she thought you wanted to be my mom?”
Jen blinked, looking a little bemused. “I mean, yeah,” she began.
“Well, she,” Faith cleared her throat, turning a dull red, “got it backwards.”
Jen stared at her for a moment. A small smile crept across her face. “Oh,” she said. “I mean…oh.”
“Yeah,” said Faith, and shrugged, looking steadily up at Jen. She didn’t feel like tackling Jen in a Lifetime-movie hug or anything, but she also didn’t feel like stabbing someone, which by her normal standards was actually pretty good. Trusting someone made honesty one hell of a lot less painful. “My Watcher fought vamps with me, but you’re not…I don’t want you to be my Watcher. Watchers kinda suck.”
Jen considered this. Then she said, “C’mere,” and stepped forward, pulling Faith into a hug. It was the first time they’d actually hugged under circumstances that weren’t super emotional or life-and-death, and it was…nice. It was really nice. Faith couldn’t think of a time someone had just hugged her out of the blue. Granted, some of that might have been because Faith would have stabbed them, but still. “You’re a really good kid,” said Jen, her voice all wobbly. “And I worry about you a lot.”
“That’s annoying—”
“Clearly,” said Jen, pulling back a little to give Faith a reproving look, “you just want all the huggy parts of having a—” She stopped. “Not-Watcher,” she finished, her expression softening.
“Yeah, whatever,” said Faith, grinning a little. “Not-Watcher.”
Giles honked the horn.
“ALL RIGHT, RUPERT, KEEP YOUR PANTS ON,” Jen shouted as loudly as humanly possible. Faith thought she saw Giles cringe, and did her best to hide a laugh as Jen pulled away from Faith to grab a weapon at random. “We all set?”
“Fuck yeah,” said Faith. She was really looking forward to fucking up the guys that had hurt Jen.
Most of the trees seemed to be doing pretty okay, but then they reached six in the middle that surrounded a dry, open patch of earth. Without hesitating, Faith raised the axe she’d grabbed and whacked the ground as hard as she could, watching with satisfaction as it crumbled…creating a hole that opened up beneath their feet.
Whoops.
Faith barely managed to grab onto Jen before they were both tumbling down through the hole and into a dimly-lit cave. She managed to take most of the impact, which left her with a lingering soreness but no serious injuries, and pulled them both to their feet. “You okay?” she asked.
“Next time?” said Jen. “Bring a shovel.”
Not too far away, Faith could make out the sounds of chanting. Briefly, and without turning, she squeezed Jen’s hand. “Thanks,” she said quietly.
“Always,” said Jen, and squeezed her hand back, then let go, waiting.
Taking the hint, and raising her axe, Faith began to head in the direction of the chanting, doing her best to also keep track of Jen behind her in case they got jumped or something. It didn’t take them too long to reach a table in the middle of a big, creepy cavern, encircled by three creepy, eyeless priest guys.
“This is where I quip, right?” inquired Faith, and lunged for the first priest. Behind her, she heard what sounded like Jen whacking the second priest in the face with a sword, then stabbing him. The third priest, who seemed a little bit smarter than his friends, ran for the hills. Good call. Faith had just finished up with the first priest, and she was now bringing her axe down hard on whatever the priests had been standing and chanting around.
“Entirely unbecoming, Janna,” said a voice.
Faith looked up. Some old dude was standing in the middle of the cavern. She frowned, raising the axe, but then heard a strangled noise from behind her—almost a sob. “Uncle,” said Jen.
“The vampire tries to kill you, and you continue to aid him?” said the guy. “You are a disgrace.”
“I’m not—” Jen drew her arms against her chest, shaking. The broadsword clattered to the ground.
“You are,” said the guy. “The family is in disarray, our legacy and our calling in shatters, and you turn your back on those you claim to love to devote yourself to the service of a vampire?”
“I’m not,” Jen whispered. “I’m not, I’m not, you didn’t want me, you said—you said that carrying out everyone else’s vengeance was all I would ever be good for, I just wanted to be kind—”
Faith looked at Jen, thought about all the talk of creepy guilting visions, and threw her axe as hard as she could. The guy shimmered and shifted as the axe passed right through him, and suddenly—fuck. Suddenly it was the Prof. It was the Prof, and Faith’s axe was on the other side of the cavern. “Really, Faith,” said the Prof, looking over her shoulder at the axe, “I taught you better than to fight impulsively.”
“You’re not my dead Watcher, and you’re not going to fuck with me,” said Faith sharply. “You can’t touch me. How fuckin’ weak is that, relying on other people’s guilt to get them killed?”
“Clever girl,” said the First. “Stronger than all the rest.”
Faith looked over her shoulder at Jen, and something furious rose in her chest, because Jen was crying. Not in the quiet, clumsy way Faith had seen on rare occasions, but full-out messy sobs that had her doubled over as she shook. “I’m gonna kill you,” she told the First.
The First rolled its eyes. “You think you can fight me?” it scoffed. “I'm not a demon, little girl. I am something that you can't even conceive. The First—”
“Evil, yeah, whatever,” said Faith sharply. “Everything I fight is evil. I can kill you.”
The First looked almost amused. “Angel will be dead by sunrise,” it said.
Behind Faith, Jen stopped crying. “What?” she whispered.
“His attempt to kill you wasn’t planned,” the First said mildly to Jen, “but it certainly helped with the guilt. Tragically, he can’t live with himself as a monster.” It shrugged. “Better for us, I guess,” it said. “We can’t live with him as a man.”
Faith picked up the broadsword and thrust it at the First.
All of a sudden, she was surrounded by a black, smoky cloud, one with too many eyes and sharp teeth and claws that might have scratched if they’d been substantial. “DEAD BY SUNRISE,” a voice rasped through the cavern, and then Faith was standing alone, shaking.
Someone stepped up next to her. As Faith’s knees gave way, she felt her cheek fall against Jen’s shoulder. “I’ve got you, Faith,” Jen whispered. “I’ve got you. It’s okay.”
Jenny tucked Faith back into the front seat, then kissed Rupert very hard. “I have to go find Angel,” she said. “He’s in danger.”
“Jenny, that is not—”
“There is no one else who can do it, Rupert,” said Jenny as steadily as she could. She kept on thinking about her uncle as a ghostly apparition—you are a disgrace, you turn your back on those you claim to love—and reminded herself that that sure as hell would never be what she was. “You know it has to be me.”
Rupert looked around at the children, all of them asleep in the car. Then he unbuckled his seatbelt, clambered out of the driver’s seat, and grabbed Jenny’s waist, pulling her flush against him as he kissed her. It was the same kind of desperate kiss they’d shared the night before, right down to the intensity of his gaze when he pulled back. “If he kills you,” he said, “I will kill him. I will go to him and I will rip him apart, piece by fucking piece. You must understand that, Jenny.”
“Yeah,” said Jenny. But there was a strange, burning conviction in her chest: she would not let Angel die again. The strength of her belief was enough to make her certain that she would come back to Rupert in the morning. “I love you,” she whispered, and wanted to say other, stupider things, but there would be time for that after sunrise. “Drive me to the mansion?”
He wasn’t in the mansion. It took Jenny a few panicked seconds to figure out where he might be, and then it clicked. Walking slowly—there were a few hours left till sunrise, after all—she made her way through the mansion, into the bushes out back, and climbed up the hill to find Angel. He was looking out at a peaceful, well-lit section of town, and didn’t turn as she made her way towards him.
“Angel,” said Jenny.
Angel turned, shocked. “Ms. Calendar,” he said finally. “You shouldn’t be here.”
“Yeah, that’s what pretty much everyone keeps saying to me,” said Jenny simply. “Mind if I sit with you?”
“I hurt you,” said Angel. “I could have killed you. What are you doing here?”
Jenny opened her mouth to answer, then shut it. “I don’t know,” she said finally. “I honestly don’t know. I don’t know you, Angel. I know you from horror stories that my uncle used to tell me, and I know you from how much Buffy loves you, and I know you from the fact that you saved my life a year ago. But none of that really means I know you.”
“The sun’s coming up soon,” said Angel. “I don’t think you should be here for this.”
“The sun isn’t coming up for three more hours, drama queen,” said Jenny, mouth twitching. “I think that gives us more than enough time to talk about this incredibly stupid decision you’re making.”
“If you don’t know me, then you can’t understand that this is the right decision for me to make,” said Angel with sharp conviction. “I hurt you today. I’ve hurt you before. I’ve tasted your blood, and you think that the world should still have me in it?” He turned all the way now, looking at her with contempt. “You’re an idiot,” he said.
Something snapped inside her. “You don’t get to say that to me,” Jenny said furiously. “You don’t ever—look at me, you asshole, you don’t ever get to tell me that I am an idiot. I let you torture me for hours in front of the first person I ever let myself love, and I spent the whole fucking summer trying to deal with that, and I come up here forgiving you because I care and you tell me that I’m an idiot? It’s not an idiotic thing to do, Angel, to forgive people. People aren’t perfect. People aren’t supposed to be. People make stupid mistakes that they can’t undo, that happens, but what’s really going to count is what you do to make sure you never, ever make that mistake again.”
“I don’t have that certainty,” Angel burst out. “I never get to have that certainty. As long as I’m alive, Angelus runs the risk of getting out, and after what you did to get me back, you’re the very first one he’ll go after. The things he wanted to do to you—” He shuddered, almost involuntarily, but he was still visibly furious. “This isn’t a choice you get to talk me out of,” he said. “I saw the way you looked at me after I thought you were the First. You know I’m right.”
“Angel, the First showed up to me as my uncle and told me I was a disgrace to the family name,” said Jenny, exasperated. “If everyone who got guilted by that thing killed themselves, Sunnydale would probably be toast. Look, can you just…hear me out?” A lingering spark of anger prompted her to add, “I feel like I’m owed at least that much from you.”
Guilt flickered in Angel’s eyes. He nodded.
Jenny nodded too. “Okay,” she said, stepping up to him. “I…I have spent the last six months blaming myself unceasingly for all the stuff that happened to you. You losing your soul, you getting sent to hell, Rupert having to watch me get tortured, Buffy having to kill you—it always, always felt like there was something I could have done to save you.”
“It wasn’t your fault,” said Angel immediately, almost reflexively. Jenny fixed him with a look. He coughed, abashed, and waited.
“What I’m getting at,” said Jenny, a lump in her throat, “is that I never got to know you. Not well enough for me to feel this much guilt, at least. There was all this time I spent working out my feelings towards you, time that I could have used on helping people who were there and not dead…” She trailed off. “You’ve been given an incredible opportunity to do good,” she said, and meant the words for both of them. “Spending all your time beating yourself up for the things you’ve done wrong is a waste of that gift.”
“If you haven’t forgotten,” said Angel derisively, “that ritual your family pulled off was a curse, not a gift.”
“My family didn’t give you your soul this time around,” said Jenny quietly. “I did. Willow did. Because you meant something to us. We could have let Buffy kill you and sent you to hell, but we didn’t, because Buffy loved you and Willow loves Buffy.”
“And you?”
“I saved your life because you saved mine,” said Jenny, smiling a little.
“I almost killed you—”
“Eyghon,” said Jenny. The terror and trauma of that long-ago incident seemed strange and distant. “I would have been a puddle of blue goo if you hadn’t strangled that demon out of me. I never forgot that, Angel.” She smiled, not quite sadly. “I don’t think I ever will.”
Something in Angel’s expression had changed. “I didn’t ever think of it like that,” he said. “I just thought, back then—if I could help—I want to help people, Ms. Calendar. More than anything.”
“There you go,” said Jenny softly, and stood on tiptoe, squeezing his shoulder. “Look, it’s your choice, in the end. But there are people here who need you, Angel, people you might not even realize you’ve helped.”
“I’m not a good man,” said Angel, eyes darting down to Jenny’s hand on his shoulder like he wasn’t quite sure why it was there, or if it should be.
“It’s not about good and bad,” Jenny persisted. “Okay? It’s about the mistakes you’ve made and what you’re doing to make sure they don’t happen again. There’s no person who’s inherently good, Angel, and no person who will ever be anything but bad. People come in shades of gray.”
“I’m not a strong man,” Angel amended.
“Then find yourself a damn good reason to be,” said Jenny. “The world wouldn’t be better without you, Angel, it’s better with you. You could bring a lot to it if you got over your whole self-flagellation kick.” She let her hand drop, looking up at him. “Final verdict?”
Angel let out a quiet, shaking breath. “I don’t know,” he said. It was almost a sob. “I don’t know what to do.”
“Okay,” said Jenny. “So let’s go inside.”
There was a long, still moment, and then Angel nodded.

May I ask love headcanons for Yamaguchi? Thanks!😊
Ahh~~ Someone finally requested my son, thank you!
When they discover they have a crush; I’m guessing that he would know it from the second that he began falling for you and, seeing as he was hurt and disappointed in love before, he tried to convince himself that it would never work out and that he should stop before he falls so hard that he can’t get up but it would be too late. The very fact that he began falling meant that he was already neck deep into it.
How he’d confess; He’d be a mess, he would probably be preparing himself for it for a week in advance but would end up delaying it due to him being insecure about if his feelings were requited. In the end I think he would do it impulsively after a while, because he was aware that if he doesn’t do it then he probably never will. And boy was he glad that you felt the same!
Big gestures of love; I think he’d go out of his way to be anything you might need, this boy is honestly so pure and thoughtful. You can count on him being your biggest supporter, I believe he would stand up for you in spite of being scared. His voice may quiver and cold sweat might bead down his face but he would be determined to defend you in any type of trouble.
Little gestures of love; He’s definitely more into doing small gestures oftenly instead of going all out once in a while. He’d carry your bags for you, he’d take you home, offer you his jacket if it’s cold—and above all he’d be a great listener. You could literally talk about how good this dorayaki you tried was, he wouldn’t care, he’d listen and make a list of things that make you happy and would be sure to supply you with them as often as possible.
How to win his heart; Be gentle and make sure you show that you’re interested in him. Listen to him when he talks because just as he is a good listener he likes being listened to as well. Comfort him when he’s feeling like he isn’t enough, like he’s behind. Remember some details about him, he’s a devoted guy who appreciates reliability in a relationship. Giving him signs that you care would win him over in a bat of an eyelash.
Things that would break his heart; Being intolerant towards his insecurities and telling him to man up would be an absolute deal-breaker. Also, I think it should go without saying that he would be uneasy if you were to flirt around, especially with Tsukishima. Even if unintentionally, you’d need to sit him down and talk about it with him if you’re a naturally outgoing and ‘overly-friendly’ person. Let’s face it though, if he feels like he can’t trust you I honestly don’t think it will ever work out.
Things that make his heart flutter; the fact that you wait for him after practice, most often with his favorite beverage and snack, the way you ruffle his hair and greet him with open arms into a hug that makes him feel secure. The way you smell like home and the way that you stay up late just so you can talk to him even if he knows that you’re tired- the way that you’re stubborn when you say no after he asks if you’d like to hang up but then fall asleep due to being extremely tired despite your best tries.
His type; He’d go for a loyal and supportive s/o that makes him feel secure and loved, bc let’s not forget that he had his fair share of disappointments so he would need someone who he is sure he can put his trust into. Preferably someone soft-spoken and gentle as opposed to loud and outgoing because it would clash with his own personality just a tad bit too much. I’m not saying that he wouldn’t give it a try but I’m saying it would put him in a tight spot because he knows he’ll have to leave his comfort zone eventually.
Ideal date; he’s a simple guy who would be just as fine with going out as he would be with staying in. In ideal circumstances though, the two of you would be able to get some time alone so a picnic or a movie marathon would suit his tastes the best. Even though I really peg him as a guy who wouldn’t care where he is as long as he’s there with you.
Past relationships; Crushes definitely, but relationships… I hardly doubt it. I think he’d much rather wait for someone special who means a lot to him than to play around just for the sake of experience.
Goals in a relationship; He wants a big house, a big wedding and a big family. All in all he has some big dreams when it comes to relationship goals—he’s in a relationship for the long run after all. This cinnamon roll would prove to be an amazing husband and the kind of father who would spoil his kid to the point of no return but you’d love him anyway. I think he’d work extra hard so you could travel around a lot. Idk, he seems like type who’s really into travelling and visiting new places to me.
Any other love headcannons? He’d get super red if you were to get up into his face to count his freckles and he would absolutely lose it if you started kissing each one as you go bc he’s a little bit insecure about them. Also, he’s a mom-friend, you just have to accept it—he’ll be down your neck all the time: did you eat? are you cold? watch it when you’re crossing the streets! It’s one of his quirks that you think are really cute but he’s dead serious about looking out for your well-being.
