Thank you for fan cast of Snow and Coin.
Your fancast for : Katniss, Peeta, Haymitch and Gale?
i really enjoy @little-lynx and her depiction of each of these characters. especially her haymitch art hits the nail on the head.
a brief disclaimer: i headcanon district 12, and specifically the seam, to be of native descent. the amount of roles that are given to indigenous peoples in films are not far and wide. i am not a casting director and am therefore working with limited resources, hence the people that i have selected are indigenous, but indigenous people from all across the world, as i wanted to catch character vibes more so than assuring a coherence.
my long-time go to for katniss has been erana james. any katniss faceclaim should give off those slim and pointed hunter tiny person fast runner vibes, and erana, especially in the wilds (at least the screencaps and gifs) has exactly those vibes. she has that sort of natural beauty that katniss has.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
regarding gale, i like the sharp look that d’pharaoh woon-a-tai has. this hunter gaze, the serious face that sooo much makes me think of a gale forced to be a tribute on stage (and not smiling, because fuck them!). and i dunno, i feel like gale so often is perceived as this much older and wiser character compared to katniss and peeta (he's only two years older, 18, a baby in my eyes lol) and it would do some good if the person portraying him also isn't this broad-shouldered middle aged sex god.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
for peeta, i like froy gutierrez because he's got that soft blond boy face but at the same time he's also of native descent and i think headcanoning even the merchant people as being mixed is an interesting take, also because it allows me to go with a white boy i like without having to search through the twenty thousand white boys hollywood has cast in the past decade.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
for haymitch, it's aaron pedersen. the vibes are neat, and with vibes i mean old guy with beard who looks judgingly at you, likely gone through some shit, can be daddy of the month for the twitter crowd and satisfies the hayffie fandom in terms of hotness degree while we ignore he would probably be an overly thin and shit looking alcoholic two steps away from his grave.

Round One, Match Nine: Eli Iserbyt v. Mads Pedersen
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eli Iserbyt Propaganda
small but fierce, he is my cyclocross boy and deserves more love.
First of all he's very small, so jot that down, secondly, he is currently winning everything in cyclocross even if he's unlikely to beat WvA and MvdP when they show up. Had offers to start doing road racing, but kept to what he likes and is good at, and I like that mentality. And he does so many races in cx, like he is everywhere all the time.
Mads Pedersen Propaganda
Simply go read an interview, he is immensely entertaining, and also the sprint he did in the Bemer Cyclassics gave me an adrenaline high that changed my brain chemistry. He betrayed his danish nation by moving away to Switzerland for tax reasons, but he's very open about it at least. Is described by teammates as a good guy and wears many silly Lidl outfits.
Funniest guy in the peloton, like listen to any interview with him. Has a grand tour grand slam (a victory in each grand tour). Look at those thighs. Number six on UCI ranking. Speedy guy. Keeps it real. Doesn’t die in hills as much as other sprinters imo. Just vote the guy, he’s great

oh well I simply have to hear more about pretty in pink
ahah yes!! of course, here you go💗
so. this actually started as a discussion with you, i opened the doc while we were having that conversation i believe; what if tadej was outed as gay and basically forced to leave UAE. yes he's their beloved superstar and their most valuable asset. but. the majority of the team's money comes from a sponsor that would have an inherent "issue" with their main rider being gay, and although the initial outing is against his will, good old cycling media getting invasive and awful, he doesn't deny it (even though it's something he's tried very hard to hide since entering the at times hypermasculine world of professional men's sports, where it feels like everyone's married with a kid or two by the time they're 27)
it follows tadej through the initial aftermath (which timeline wise actually happens in a couple of weeks, just at the end of december '23) and through trying to find a new contract in a relatively short space of time. in a pinch, desperate just to get back to racing again, he ends up on the first team that has a spot and will have him. that's EF <- giving the piece its working title
for the first time in his career - he started with UAE when he was 20 - he has to be the New Guy all while the peloton and everyone knows this secret he's kept for practically his whole life. there is a fair amount of Emotion and hypothetical events of the 2024 season, and hopefully some fun mixed in there too
here is a buffet breakfast of random bits, featuring:
well meaning yet unhelpful jasper!
“So,” Jasper folded his arms, “who’s the hottest in the peloton? I’ve always wondered, and there's that thing on Twitter, but maybe you could pass a better judgement.” His tone was clearly joking, but Tadej couldn't bring himself to match the humour. “Nobody. I don't– I don't look at anyone at work like that.” he scraped at the tabletop with his fingernail, tracing the patterns in the wood. “Come on, Tadej, I'm sure you can think of someone – Mathieu? Ganna? A teammate, maybe? There's got to be somebody that's not too bad to look at. Anyway, I won’t be offended if it isn’t me, but you know, I think I should really be in consideration here– ” Tadej sighed and set his cup down a little too firmly. The coffee swirled and wavered, nearly spilling over the edge. “No. There's not. Jasper, stop it, please.”
crashes!
“Please, please, médicale, I – need – help – with – my – shoulder,” Tadej half-shouted, pleading and pointing towards his arm. It hung at his side at an awkward angle. At last, the mechanic seemed to understand and leant the bike against the grassy roadside verge. Tadej’s elation was short-lived as he turned around and walked back to the service vehicle.
and last but not least the biking-liking bi king viking mads pedersen...
Their arms brushed as they walked down the narrow pavement, synchronised steps accompanied by the swish-swish of jacket sleeve against jacket sleeve. “When did you know?” Tadej asked. “When did I know what?” Mads stopped them at a junction, looking right and left before crossing. Tadej bit his lip.
thank you SO much for asking me about this i love it to bits even though it's often very hard to write. as a queer person who has been forcibly outed myself, it's tough sometimes to put that on paper and try and consider what a famous figure might go through, the situation being made 100x worse by media attention, losing his goddamn job and navigating an environment that from an outsider's perspective doesn't seem like the most supportive
ironically while searching through my docs i found another file also called pretty in pink but that is much much shorter and more lighthearted (and also about tadej! but in the other thing he wears a dress to a halloween party and has a lot of fun)

Rahsaan Roland Kirk (August 7, 1935 – December 5, 1977) was an American jazz multi-instrumentalist who played tenor saxophone, flute and many other instruments. He was renowned for his onstage vitality, during which virtuoso improvisation was accompanied by comic banter, political ranting, and the ability to play several instruments simultaneously.

💕if you get this answer with three random facts about yourself and send this to the last seven blogs in your notifs. Anon or not doesn’t matter, get to know the person behind the blog.
Aww, thank you! I probably won't send it to anyone, because I already did (and not really to the last seven blogs, but a few I picked, but-). I'm always so scared to be a bother with those games 🙈
1. Despite being a football fan, I don't really follow my country's league. I think it's a common thing in Poland, unfortunately. There's something about Ekstraklasa and footballers being scared of confrontation, immediately passing to the keeper when pressed and that really fucking lazy style of play with no one bothering to push forward. Combined with straight up dangerous at times fanbase, it really puts people off 😭. My dad says that next season we might start going to a local club's games, because they're back in the city after having to move to another stadium, shockingly far away from here. It's not the biggest team in my city, but definitely one with less repulsive fanbase and more watchable style of play. It's embarrassing to say, but this is going to be my first time at the stadium since YEARS. My friends irl always assume I am a regular 🙈.
2. A very popular sport here that's not really popular in most of the world is motor speedway. My family is also big fans of our local team. In result, this is a "default" motorsport for me. I have no idea who all these F1 drivers you guys post about are (apart from Leclerc because I find him hot). My favourite motor speedway driver is probably Nicki Pedersen purely because he is a shithouse. I'm not sure he has a single bone in his body that has never been broken at this point.
3. I lived by the seaside for a couple of months. It really was a magical experience. The sea is probably the only thing worth remembering from my short spell in Gdańsk. I could see the waves from my bus stop. I would go on walks to the beach daily, read stuff for my classes sitting on the sand, smoke cigarettes (yeah, I still smoked back then). Literally no downsides. Well, maybe there would be downsides if I stayed until summer and had to deal with all the tourists. Surprisingly, the neighbourhood was really cheap and not "fancy" at all (quite the contrary).

Alex Kaplan at MMFA:
At a signing event for his new book, Fox News host Jesse Watters told Jeffrey Pedersen, a QAnon influencer known online as “intheMatrixxx,” that he “love[s]” him and follows him online, adding that he does “good work” and has “all this information.” Watters’ admission comes after he previously praised QAnon supporters and then backtracked. During the April 29 episode of the QAnon-supporting MatrixxxGrooove Show (or MG Show), Pedersen aired a video of an interaction he had with Watters at a book signing event for the Fox News host.
Pedersen has repeatedly promoted QAnon and other misinformation online, like false claims about vaccines and election fraud. And regarding QAnon itself, multiple government agencies have issued internal warnings about the conspiracy theory and its supporters, some of whom have also been tied to violence, including the January 6 insurrection. While signing a copy of his book for Pedersen, Watters told Pedersen and others around him, “I love intheMatrixxx,” adding, “I follow this guy.” He said that Pedersen’s “got all this information. … You’re very good.” And at the end of the video he told Pedersen, “Keep up the good work. … We’ll be in touch.”
[...] In 2020, Watters praised the QAnon community for having “uncovered a lot of great stuff when it comes to [Jeffrey] Epstein and when it comes to the deep state,” though he later claimed he did not “support or believe in” the conspiracy theory. And the year before that, QAnon supporters cheered over a segment Watters aired on his show about QAnon that had a “neutral to positive spin.” Watters’ praise for Pedersen adds to Fox’s long history of amplifying and sometimes openly embracing QAnon. And it comes as MatrixxxGrooove Show has received press passes at multiple Trump rallies.
Fox Noise host Jesse Watters gave praise to QAnon conspiracist Jeffrey Pederson (aka InTheMatrixxx).

@flamingo-strikes tagged me in a game to list either 9 of my fave books of 2023, or the 9 top books on my 2024 to be read
now i read one (1) book in 2023 so i will Also be choosing the latter XD, thanks zaina!!!
Ghosts of Gold Mountain by Gordon H. Chang - i love california history and i love railroads!! this book talks about the chinese people that built the transcontinental railroad so im sure i will not cry about it
People Love Dead Jews by Dara Horn - yeah that title is pretty self explanatory
Fen, Bog & Swamp by Annie Proulx - idk this just looked interesting and i love making myself depressed with climate change ig

Quackery by Lydia Kang and Nate Pedersen - i read a book in January called the history of the world in six glasses, it was really good and the coke section sent me into some sort of something about patent medicine so i added this to my list
The Cost of Free Land by Rebecca Clarren - ://// yep its more books depression, this time about jewish diaspora and native rights yaaaay
Hijab Butch Blues by Lamya H - another book i slapped right onto my tbr because of the title, also partially because of how mad some of the GR comments are

Who do you think are some U23 riders to watch out for in the future? I feel like you know what you're talking about and have a good idea of who the names to know are, so what are your thoughts?
ah, anon i think you have too much faith in me, but thank you 😭
i do try to keep up with some u23 races but i definitely don't know all of them and of course it's really hard to say how different riders will develop just by looking at their results at 19/20/21. not everyone who has big results now will keep similar results at the worldtour level, and riders who fly under the radar now may become big names later on.
that said, here's a few in some very broad categories - these aren't hard and fast specializations by any means. this list is definitely not comprehensive and is also heavily influenced by races i've personally watched. there's probably some recency bias involved too, but what can you do.
under a cut bc i apparently had more to say than i thought, oops :)
the big names i've talked about probably the most, all very strong climbers and big gc talents: jarno widar, jørgen nordhagen, and pablo torres. also probably strong potential in hilly classics, particularly widar and nordhagen.
other gc/climbers:
léo bisiaux, simon dalby, aaron dockx, tijmen graat, pau martí, diego pescador, mathys rondel, darren van bekkum
classics/sprints:
huub artz, joe blackmore, matthew brennan, gal glivar, menno huising, florian kajamini, henrik pedersen, jakob söderqvist, tim torn teutenberg
and of course this doesn't include riders who are still under 23 but who are already on the worldtour level and/or whose names i'm sure you already know: isaac del toro, paul magnier, thibau nys, giulio pellizzari, etc.
honestly the best way to get to know these guys is to just watch u23 races - i promise they're very interesting and entertaining (sometimes even more than the elites!) and you can see some really standout performances.
their season is mostly wrapping up by now, but there's still the european championships this week (itt - sept 11, road race - sept 13), the world championships in a few weeks (itt - sept 23, road race - sept 27), and lombardia u23 next month (oct 5).

Guys my brain can't stop thinking of an indycar royalty AU so please let me be a bit self-indulgent:
Josef Newgarden is the crown Prince of the USA, in an agreement between the US and Australia he is being made to marry the second born Prince of New Zeland, Scott McLaughlin, neither of them are happy about it.
Alexander Rossi works as Josef bodyguard and clearly isn't getting paid enough for what he's dealing with, meanwhile the head of security is Conor Daly who is currently being tasked with helping Rossi train the newest bodyguard, Kyle Kirkwood.
Kyle has been chosen to become the bodyguard for the second born Prince, David Malukas who really doesn't want a bodyguard and is doing everything in his power to annoy him into quiting, it's instead endearing and doesn't work, Sting Ray Robb as the other guard in training is sometimes dragged into these misadventures.
Meanwhile there is a range of Lords, Colton Herta is the youngest of this group who has found himself involed with the youngest of the two children Pato O'Ward by complete accident and now can't seem to avoid chaos now. The other Lords include Graham Rahal, and the Andretti family who are the most powerful and closest to the king of all the Lords.
Other Royality includes the US's closest allie, Canada who is ruled by King James Hinchcliffe with the slightly unpopular Lord Devlin DeFrancesco. Along with North American countries there is also a close partnership with the UK and its Prince Callum Ilott with his bodyguard Katherine Legge.
As previously mentioned New Zealand is soon to be another allie with their king Scott Dixon and Lord Marcus Armstrong, creating this alliance will help create a relationship with Australia's King Will Power.
Along with these countries there is also prince Marcus Ericsson of Sweden and his bodyguard Felix Rosenqvist (who has manged to create a strong bond with Pato), Prince Rinus VeeKay of the Netherlands, King Simon Pagenaud and his bodyguard Romain Grosjean (who have their own drama with Josef and Alex), Prince Christian Lundgaard and his bodyguard Benjamin Pedersen of Denmark, king Tony Kanaan and his bodyguard Hélio Castroneves of Brazil, king Takuma Sato of Japan and Prince Agustín Canapino of Argentina.
