Headcanons

Five years after the virus first spread, Guren's Squad (+Shinya) are on some random mission. No one notices Shigure pick up a slightly scratched but still intact disc or her breath hitch, but they all notice the working copy of Bomber Man and matching Wii a month later. Mito tears up, Goshi teases her, and she quickly proves that five years be damned, She was still the Queen of this game, god damnit

Shinya and Mito had a brief but (to the befuddlement of their friends) incredibly loving relationship. Shinya is so proud that for once someone chose him for him, not his strength or political standing, and Mito can barely believe someone like Shinya likes her back. But Mito still had the remnants of her crush on Guren, and wanted someone who she could continuously let her guard down around. Shinya letting his guard down even the slightest bit once was a testament of immense trust, and their differences fractured their relationship. When they broke up they both pretended not to be hurt, but it took a while for things to go back to normal.

Sayuri cuddles up to people in her sleep, and it's caused both Mito and Shigure to question their sexuality. Sayuri remains oblivious.

Goshi once had a serious girlfriend her cared immensely about, but once he realized she was just using him to get closer to his younger brother (younger but better, his grandmother never failed to remind him) he was heartbroken

Aoi always found Mitsuba's unnecessary optimism annoying and unneeded, but once Mitsu's squad died and she did a 180 personality wise, Aoi couldn't quite force herself to be happy about it

A lot of the fish in Kureto's favorite place to fish died after the apocalypse. He's still not quite over it.

Seishiro has two music playlists, one full of rock music he shows to anyone who asks, and another full of classical and 'girly' music that no one can know about. No one.

Mahiru hates idols with a passion and having to watch their (idiotic, in her opinion) shows for her public image annoyed her to no end.

That said, part of her was honest-to-god upset she couldn't find the same joy in watching them that everyone else seemed to have. She was constantly wondering if she was born to another father, if she was born to another mother would she be able to fit in without forcing herself to change? Would she have been allowed to stay with Guren? Somehow, she doubts it.

Aoi stopped wearing pigtails shortly after Mitsuba began. It was obvious Mitsuba wanted to mimic her, and it made Aoi uncomfortable not because or her lack of feelings, but because part of her was incredibly pleased by it.

Shigure was introduced to Guren when they were nine; Sayuri hadn't managed to protect him completely in an attack and another guard was deemed necessary.

Shinya has been trying for 8+ years to get Guren to get him a Coca Cola. Once Guren got him Pepsi as a gag gift for his birthday and he just... stared at it for five straight minutes before looking Guren straight in the eye and asking, "What have I ever done to you?"

"You attacked me the first time you ever saw me, you brat, that's what you did."

"That was six years ago Guren, you need to learn to let go."

I dream about her every single night even when she's not on my mind. That beautiful ashen hair of her flowing through the wind, the warm and soft feeling of out hands intertwined together the smell of lavender lingered in the air. Her voice. Her smile. Her. But all I'm stuck with is memories and fragments of her in my dreams.

What is left of the girl I once loved is nothing but a manifestation of a demon. Wanting to take over my mind and body at any given time. I've lost all control to the presence now I'm not even sure when it takes over anymore. The girl I loved is gone and will be forever because I couldn't save her. Because I was weak and powerless. The demon never fails to remind me of my sins and mistakes. Crimson hues that would take the breath away from me every single time; like being hit with a stone or rock to the point you were on your knees begging for death.

"When I awake you'll disappear back to the shadows with all I hold dear."

After everything I've done and witnessed one thing haunts me the most and that was the fact I couldn't even take my own life. I was too much of a coward to do it because I wanted to see my friends again. But the girl I loved the most I wanted to see as well again but things didn't turn out how I wanted. I wanted to save her but yet failed and here I am still alive. Haunted by the demonic presence that disguises itself as her.
