Pioneers by inveracities is a must-read. every single characterisation is on point, and it probably has my favourite fic version of sirius ever. it's so well-written and painful and raw and i can't sing enough praises about it!!!!

Little Do You Know by @narcissa-black-supermacy had me screaming and sobbing and shaking with outrage the entire way, there's so much angst and drama but the love between james/sirius is just soo tender and beautiful in spite of it all <3 <3

The Ghost of You, It Keeps Me Awake by @gracelesslady23 is a really cleverly written and emotional story, i still need to catch up on some later chapters but everybody's pain and struggles are so visceral and well-handled i love it!

Black by asterfortis is just like... poetry. it's a whirling, disorienting look into sirius' shattered mind post-azkaban, and left me breathless when i read it. it's so painful and mesmerising and GOOD

Just Come Home by @cami-chats (or really, anything cami writes) is so lovely and captures the dynamic between james and sirius in such a beautiful, tender way. like you just... know how much these two love each other, it comes across in all the works so well <3

In Half, In Half (If We Live to See the Other Side of This) by gunsandbutter is explicit but god.... the dynamic of desire and desperation between them to be together in spite of everything... the kind of love that burns everything in its path!! it's everything i love about james/sirius and it's just. a super hot and well-written fic

nobody asked for this! sorry! actually, one person asked for this and i have already delivered but since i spent the first months of quarantine making myself an authority on inception fic, i though i’d pass it along. also it’s this or writing a paper. there’s no theme to this, it’s just the fic i read over and over again. happy 10th anniversary to this fandom here’s a list.

Wherever You Will Be (That's Where I'll Call Home) by gyzym

starting the list with a lie, because this isn’t a single fic; it’s 8. But when i reread this, i reread the entire series in order so i gotta give you the whole thing. quite simply: arthur & eames gradually make a home together. i adore the pace of this, the way they slowly peel back the barriers they’ve erected within themselves and between them. as it’s by gyzym, it’s also VERY funny. pre- and post-canon, 75k, rated E.

eames is an author, arthur is an editor, eames insists that he needs to take a trip for his process and drags arthur along with him. i love how in-character these roles are for them. AU, 8.5k, rated E.

after saving arthur’s life, eames realizes that arthur has fallen for him. which is very inconvenient because eames is not capable of love.  naturally, he is up-front about it and then spends the next few years breaking into arthur’s home and generally making a nuisance of himself. totally natural way to act around the man you definitely aren’t into. post-canon, 8.6k, rated E.
