Two weeks after the June 2016 attack, a group of activists unveiled a large banner created by Gilbert Baker, the designer of the rainbow flag, reading "Gays Against Guns" as they led the New York City LGBT Pride March. In an October 2017 op-ed for Teen Vogue, GAG's social media director argued that gun violence is a disease that can be treated and ultimately cured.
