The Disney Afternoon’s’ programming block launched 34 years ago, September 10, 1990.

The block will turn 35 years in 2025, wishful thinking for a crossover series with all characters like Jellystone! from MAX getting ordered.

The 2010s and 2020s saw new interations of some shows of The Disney Afternoon block with DuckTales as reboot for Disney XD , Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers as a live action/cgi hybrid film for Disney+.

New interations of The Disney Afternoon shows are still being made with Darkwing Duck having a reboot in the works since 2020 and a TaleSpin reboot very early in development since 2023 both projects for Disney+ are being helm by Disney Television Animation, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Point Grey Pictures. (Nickelodeon Animation Studios "Tales Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles") In October 2023, it was announced that Gargoyles was getting a live action reboot handled by Atomic Monster and Blumhouse Television, Gary Dauberman (Warner Bros “Anabelle” franchise), acts as showrunner with James Wan and Michael Clear (Universal Pictures “M3GAN”) as Executive Producers alongside Jason Blum (Universal Pictures "Five Nights At Freddy's").

As of right now there's two major Disney Afternoon IPs still left to be rebooted:

-Adventures Of The Gummi Bears

-Goof Troop

In this version of mine, Webby and her sisters are not clones of Scrooge but rather they are in the place of April, May and June and are Daisy's neices, which also make Beakley Daisy's mom as she is still their grandmother

I'm still not shipping them with HDL cuz Daisy is married to Donald in this, which makes them related by law

For the boys, most is the same, only that Della vanished through no fault of her own, along with the boys' father. They both return eventually and both are in their lives. Donald does still raise the boys and gives the names Della wanted as middle names

(the boys' father has red hair so thats why Dewey has a patch of red)

Black Heron’s voice actress, April Winchell, is the daughter of Paul Winchell, who voiced one of the lead characters in the show “Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears”, which was part of the original Disney Afternoon and is referenced in the DT17 episode “From the Confidential Casefiles of Agent 22”.

I think it’s heartwarming that the DuckTales crew gave April the opportunity to engage in / contribute even more to her father’s legacy.

Been thinking about Aurora again in my "y'all referenced Gummi Bears but wouldn't take ten minutes to consider the LORE IMPLICATIONS" brainrot moments and here's a list of DT17 timeline gummi headcanons I came up with because I decided to make a gummi bear oc 84 years ago.

The royals at Dunwyn Castle were canine. More specifically, King Gregor and Princess Calla were land spaniels, a group of dogs which contained the predecessor to the modern English cocker spaniel. The knights, servants, and peasants were various other dog breeds.

The ones shown interacting with the gummis were King Gregor's advisors, hence them being birds and not canine.

Cavin was a fox.

Duke Igthorn was a Talbot hound, considered the predecessor to the beagle. Could be a family connection there!

Ogres absolutely existed, and still do exist, in the woods near the ruins of the castle. Most people will never see one; they largely stay hidden since no gummis live in the glen anymore.

Gummi names (like Grammi, Gruffi, Cubbi, etc) were largely nicknames. Zummi in particular was a title, given to the current high gummi wizard. Aurora is the modern Zummi!

Gummis did not give their names to anyone outside of other gummis; it was considered bad luck.

Gummi Glen, as opposed to being just the tree, is a massive old growth forest protected by the crown as a cultural site, largely because it's protected by magic.

Deep underneath the central tree in the glen is an underground stream that feeds into a cave, holding the tombs of all the ancient gummis.

Gummi magic smells like berries, and it typically varies depending on the gummi. Aurora's magic, for example, smells like blueberries.

They are inherently magical creatures, but not all gummis can learn to do gummi magic. They're just creatures inherently made of magic.

There's a lot more variations to gummi berry juice than just the bouncy kind. While she's relearning ancient gummi magic, Aurora figures out a blend that can make a user temporarily invisible and one that allows temporary flight.

Gummi magic is emotion based, and most powerful when cast out of joy and happiness.

There's probably more but I can't think of any so uh. Ask me if you would like I guess?

slumber party // lance stroll

summary: when lances wife gets sick the morning of their daughters sixth birthday party, he offers to step in and play host. but of course, that’s before he finds out that it’s a slumber party, and he’s stuck with an army of six year olds until ten am the next morning.

the party was planned down to every painstaking detail so that it was perfect

right down to the princess decorations they started putting up a day early to the disney cake that chloe was making herself

it was going to be perfect

until y/n wakes up on the morning of with a blistering headache and nausea

she thinks they’re going to have to call off the party. she’s in no condition to handle a group of children

until lance steps in. he’ll call esteban and mick and between the three of them, they should be able to run a party without a hitch, right?

wrong.

they all arrive at the same time, and when the girls go running into the naive living room and start setting sleeping bags up under the skylight, the panic in his eyes is evident

“did your wife not tell you it was a slumber party?”

“no, she did not.” he bites his lip, running his fingers through his hair. “but how hard can it be, right?”

The other mother just laughs before she goes back to her car

horrible decision, really, but he leaves esteban and mick in charge while he runs upstairs to check on y/n (and get more details on the slumber part of the party)

and when he comes back downstairs, the girls are crying and one of them is hiding under the couch

“i left you alone with them for five minutes, esteban! what did you do?”

esteban looks at the floor, and mick rolls his eyes.

“somebody thought it was a good idea to open the afternoon with scary stories.”

“esteban, they’re six!”

“one of the girls told him he looked like the rat from flushed away and he decided the best course of action was to tell her that the house was haunted and micheal meyers would get her in her sleep.”

“this house was built in 2017 and I’m pretty sure nobody died here!”

he puts on an old barbie movie, and the girls calm down enough that they sit on the floor to eat party mix and gummy bears while the boys go over the game plan in the kitchen.

“what did you like doing when you were six?” lance asks desperately “there has to be something!”

“karting.” esteban shrugs.

“i cannot take ten six year olds to the karting track.”

but that gives him a different idea

which is how they end up in the simulator room trying to load Mario kart instead of the fia approved programming

which turns into an all out war between the girls

she’s curled up in bed with the dog, buried under blankets

but she could hear the laughter coming up through the floor

“the girls are having a great time, honey.” she says sleepily, pulling him into bed with her “you guys are doing a great job.”

“i know. but please, for the love of god, never leave me in charge of a slumber party again. also, you might need to explain to mike and my dad why a ton of six year olds were using the sim to play mario kart.”

“The Disney Afternoon: The Making of a Television Renaissance” Gets Delayed Till 2025 As Part Of The Disney Afternoon 35th Anniversary

Sad news Disney Afternoon fans, “The Disney Afternoon: The Making of a Television Renaissance” got delayed once again this time slated for a Fall 2025 release date according to Jake S. Friedman.

Likely the reason for this delay is to coincide with The Disney Afternoon 35th anniversary on 2025 and Disney TVA's 100th show ("StuGo" & "Robogobo") already airing on that time.

The Disney Afternoon: The Making of a Television Renaissance” will include sections dedicated to DuckTales (2017) and Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022) as well a small section named “THE NEWEST WAVE: Or Rewrite History" likely dedicated to Disney TVA's current & future slate as part of the studio's 40th anniversary and it's 100th show ("StuGo")

First, the OG notes from the outdated post:

→ This count is not about “which was the very first digimon-human contact”, and yes about people with a digivice. Because if we were going to count who was the first human to have contact with a digimon, it’s actually two and they’re Oikawa Yukio and Iori’s dad, Hida Hiroki.

→ I’m ignoring all the inconsistencies with other material (WS & ▽) because they seem to not match well with the original count. So, in this case, Ken’s statement in the anime (Aug 2000) is the one to be accounted for here. I don’t know if Ryo counts as Chosen (possibly yes, judging by 02 flashbacks) but I’m not sure where to place him here.

→ I’m only adding Michael to the count, even if he’s not a main character and yes a side character, because 02 ep 14 had this statement regarding him. And I like Michael too so, let me have him there :V

→ Menoa states in the movie she met Morphomon when she was nine, and according to the Dash X novel version, she’s the same age as Taichi. Which means she became a Chosen in 1997.

→ I couldn’t think of how to include Maki & Daigo’s group in this because ▽ contradicts with the original lore’s math – The fact the Pt4 book released with the movie on Japanese theaters state them being in Elementary School the time they went to their adventure in the DW, and later the confession scene means they’re in University/College makes them possibly been Chosen Children way before 1995, and I’d take it granted that they were chosen by someone else IF weren’t for the Homeostasis being involved in the scene and the digivice being way too modern for that time (it was basically Taichi group’s model. If you look at Rui’s digivice in the leaked footage from DigiFes2022, his model seems to be different and an older version)

→ That said, Meiko is the only character in ▽ that does not fall into contradiction with the math count. Because in 1999 there was not only Taichi’s group, but also other 8 non-featured Chosen according to Kakudou’s notes. So we can consider Meiko one of those other 8 children.

→ When it comes to Wallace, I prefer to think he is game in the original math – Taichi and Hikari met that Koromon in 95, but they had no digivice until 1999. Which means it can be possible that Wallace had encountered Gummy-Choco’s egg before 1995 and only became an official Chosen Child later.

Now, the new notes:

→ To avoid spoiling any detail about the movie itself, I’ll make sure to tell you they might have changed how the math works only. It’s not like, “everyone gets a digimon at the same time” but rather… “A X number of people get partnered with a digimon in different periods of a year” – Which means yes, you can still count Rui and Ukkomon as the origins of the Digimon partnership, but that later in the same year someone else (or, say, Wallace in the main timeline) got a partner months later.

→ That said, I’m opting to update this list and work within the idea that various sources of partnership (Homeostasis, Holy Beasts, etc) can be counted in the math. Remember – Homeostasis (not referred to as this in the OG series but yes in the novels) had selected Taichi & co., but the Holy Beasts chose Dai-Miya-Iori. And some other entity probably chose Ken in August 2000. This could explain why there’s a higher number of partnerships happening at the same time in Adv’99 and 02.

→ As I mentioned before, and indirectly supported by the staff (check the official timeline at the top of the list), ▽ has violated the lore to the point it goes in direct conflict with the new 02 movie and the entire timeline. So I guess it’s better to consider ▽ as its own timeline/Alternate universe than forcing it into the main timeline.

→ That said, and since Meiko does exist in Kizuna/main timeline, I suppose Maki and Daigo also do exist, and maybe they got their “ages” retconned and down to something suitable to the universe’s math count. They can still be part of the previous five kids mentioned in Adv’99 anime/novels, but they are probably around their teen years, or even early 20s instead, not fully adults working for the government I suppose. Or alternatively, just not Chosen yet. Pick your favorite route, Maki/Daigo fans!!

→ Yes, the Koromon from the very first movie IS NOT THE SAME PARTNERED WITH TAICHI. This never was confirmed, and was just fandom's theory. Considering how ▽ also made this mistake and possibly was one of the lore's violation, I prefer to believe this means it's not the same Koromon/Agumon partnered with Taichi in Adv'99.

Can u write a fanfic story about penumbra from ducktales 2017 where she’s shrunk tiny permanently and can’t return to her normal size and has to live the rest of her life as a tiny moon warrior that’s from the planet moon and now she lives on earth and webby and Della duck take good care of her

Tiny but Mighty

Della latched onto Webby's chagrined expression the moment the adventure party walked through the door. Her boys, and even Scrooge, who was holding the prized artifact they set out for in his hand, all wore similar looks of suspicious nervousness.

Before Della could even ask what was up, or question where the sixth member of their party, her girlfriend, was, the answer to both came in the form of Webby pulling out her hands from behind her back to reveal something that had Della questioning if she was actually awake.

It was Penumbra, standing defiantly in Webby's palm, no taller than five inches.

A second passed, and then--

"Oh my goddess!" Della started laughing incredulously, unable to contain her amusement. "You're so small!"

As everyone else released the tension they were holding over her reaction, Penumbra started to shout angrily up at her, but it came out as tiny squeaking instead.

"What was that? I can't hear you?" Della half-mocked, holding a hand up to her ear.

Huey dragged a hand down his face and stepped closer. "There were these crystals on the adventure-"

"And they shrunk my phone!" Louie interjected.

"-and apparently any light that passes through them shrinks any object, or being, in their path," Huey finished, side-eyeing his brother before continuing. "We stopped at the lab on the way home and got some modified versions of Gyro's Micro-Phone, so as long as you're wearing this behind your ear, you'll be able to hear Penumbra."

Della took the little chip from her son's hand and studied it, before attaching it behind her ear. She smiled and looked at her girlfriend again. "Hey, Penny!"

"Hello, Della," Penumbra answered in a flat tone. She'd been through enough soundchecks already in the past hour.

Satisfied enough, Della turned back to the rest. "Sooo...how long is this gonna last?" They'd all been on their fair share of adventures with...interesting...side effects, but they usually wore off within a couple days, a week tops.

"We...don't know," Scrooge answered. He started to walk past everyone into the mansion proper, eager to study his artifact now that the big reveal had come to pass.

"The Micro-Phone's 'grow' feature is ineffective against the crystal, so Gyro's working on a solution with a sample of crystal we brought him, and I'm going to try to find something on my own here." Huey held up a small cinched bag, presumably containing more of the crystal. "Come on, guys!" he beckoned to his brothers.

"Wait, what? We didn't sign up for nerd time!" Dewey yelled, following all the same along with Louie.

Once the boys were gone, Della turned to the girls in front of her, and smiled the most mischievous smile she ever did.

"So, Penny..."

"Don't you DARE!" Penumbra shouted up at her, ready to fight even in her shrunken state.

"I guess you could say you're...penny-sized now?" she taunted with a wave of finger guns.

Penumbra groaned while Webby rolled her eyes lovingly. The young duck spoke up. "I figured while the boys are studying the crystal, we could keep an eye on Penny, maybe get her some bites of food. She hasn't had anything besides a few drops of water since...the incident."

Della snickered and stepped to Webby's side so they could walk to the kitchen together. "Sure. She's probably worked up an appetite being so adorably cute-"

"Shut UP! And I'm right here. You don't have to talk like I'm not in the room." Penumbra crossed her arms.

"Sorry. So, what are you hungry for? A chocolate chip? A gummy bear? A cheerio?"

Instead of being offended once again, Penumbra mumbled something off to the side.

"Sorry, what was that? You're so small-"

"I SAID...I want a hamburger."

That got Della to settle down a bit, as she knew hamburgers were her girlfriend's comfort food. Webby also knew this, and immediately perked up. "Yeah! Ooh! I can call Launchpad and have him bring over some Hamburger Hippo!"

"Yes, please bring more people into this," Penumbra quipped.

They reached the kitchen and Webby carefully placed the tiny moon warrior on the counter before backflipping out of the room to go call Launchpad, leaving Della with what she wanted: a defenseless target.

"Della-" Penumbra started once again, trying to cut off her girlfriend before she could get on a roll.

"So, the moon's greatest warrior, huh?" Della smirked. She leaned down on her forearms to be eye-level with the Moonlander.

Penumbra glared. "I'm STILL the great Planet Moon's mightiest warrior, and I'll prove it!" She pivoted on her heel and started running around the kitchen island, trying to find a useful weapon.

"Mighty, but tiny! Oh! You're the textbook definition of 'tiny but mighty!' Aww!"

"I AM mighty, and I just so happen to be...very short. For now."

"Mhmm," Della humored her, and leaned one hand against her cheek, waving the other about as she talked. "Well, I guess it fits, since the moon is small, and now you're small. Oh! You could use the moon scorpion as a steed now!"

As Della kept laughing and making her jokes, Penumbra finally found a suitable weapon. She hefted it up, finding it to be adequate, and charged towards Della's exposed elbow, letting out a Mighty Moon Warrior yell right before impact.

"OW!" Della jumped up from her position and grabbed her elbow, grateful she was wearing long sleeves but still feeling an intense pinprick of pain. "Did you just stab me?!"

She looked down to see Penumbra twirling her weapon then lofting it before her at her tormentor. It was a toothpick.

"I did! For that's what you get when you mess with the Planet Moon's Finest Warrior!" Penumbra declared.

Any pain Della was still feeling melted into a bubble of laughter that she uselessly tried to contain. "Aww! Look at your little spear!"

Penumbra was starting to resemble a purple pickle of outrage at that, but as the memory of Della saying that before long ago on the moon, when she actually considered her an enemy, came to her, all the fight seeped out of her, and a laugh overtook her as well. It was just such a ridiculous situation, how could she not?

Della lit up when she saw that Penumbra was finally letting loose, and took that as an opportunity to lean in closer. "Hey, do you want to play a small prank on Webby when she comes back?" she whispered, which still sounded like a normal volume to Penumbra.

The Moonlander eyed the duck curiously. "What do you have in mind?"

Within a minute, Penumbra was tucked cozily into Della's shirt pocket, trying to keep quiet as Webby entered the kitchen with the promise of burgers on the way, only to be very confused when she couldn't see Penumbra anywhere.

Maybe being tiny wasn't so bad, at least for now.
