This episode is giving us a lot of insight into Carmela's views on marriage, defending herself as "not a feminist" and drawing a direct connection between tolerating Tony's affairs and being entitled to a voice in their financial decisions. And then when she finds out he's got a new gumar she immediately starts "stealing" from him. Like absorbing distress is how she earns security and autonomy, and if he puts too much pain on her she's entitled to a greater degree of autonomy. And then combine that with Tony obviously equating women to possessions, and you start to understand why Carm is searching for an escape hatch but doesn't truly believe she can survive without him.

It is an arranged marriage/relationship, but reader was kind of friends with Nick V before they were told they’d be in an arranged relationship.

She is intimidated by Bucky and Nick because they’re very physically imposing and aware of their status as future mob-men/alphas. She’s more open to Nick V, and Johnny is a cocky shit that drives her crazy

Yes, she does get bullied by some other omegas who’ve been vying for Nick/Bucky/Johnny/Nick even after it was announced that they were “engaged”. They don’t like her, they don’t like her appearance

You future weighed heavily on you. The pairings and match made by your parents, by the lot of them, had been set into motion. An agreement that you could attend an entire year away from home at the university of your choice before coming back here was made and you had been off.

But now you were called back.

Summer was nearly over and you would be attending school with them, finishing off your degree and pursuing a courtship/engagement with dangerous men who would lead and take over the empire laid before their feet.

You hated the idea of this, of them, for the sake of hating it. You hadn’t know any of them, save for an acquaintanceship with Nick Vaughan who you’d had few conversations with.

They were here now, either completely unaware of you or unbothered by your presence. They were all here, Nick, Bucky, Johnny & Nick.

The two cousins, the boxing and kickboxing beasts, were at the bar taking shot after shot while ignoring the wanna-be gumar’s who were trying to slid between their thighs.

Johnny Storm was surrounded by women, omegas clinging to the alpha as he had recalled some great story that boosted his ego. He was cocky, arrogant and proud of it, an alpha who had and could have anyone he wanted.

“Y/N,” and Nick Vaughan, the first to approach you and the first to try and speak to you, “you made it.”

Nick Vaughan, the acquaintance you had met and spoken to a handle of times, was standing less than a foot from you.

“Wow, you look…beautiful.” He admired your choice for this welcome home party.

The red full length patterned skirt had a deep v that showed off part of your leg, the cut of the v ending at the middle of your thigh. A brief glimpse of your stomach was visible with your off the shoulder white peasant top, the sleeves soft and billowy. It was a perfect summer choice, a perfectly inconspicuous look and yet you had still been out dressed by others.

“Where’s your pack of admirers?” Your voice may have taken a harder edge than intended, but Nick didn’t bother reacting.

Instead, he had slipped his hand into the pocket of his jeans and removed a small box. He pressed it into your palm, holding it against you with his slightly curled fingers.

“I have something for you. Its a…welcome home gift. Or even the first courting gift-“ you pulled your hand away, recoiling as if you’d been burned.

“Thanks.” You answered short, almost defensively.

“Aren’t you going to open it?” Nick smiled charmingly, endearingly like an alpha who was already halfway devoted.

You opened the box to appease him though you had faltered soon after. The gold etched chain and the matching decorative charm had been delicate and intricate, and Nick had explained the gift while you studied the small details.

“Its a scent diffuser. I read that they’re good for omegas. Calming-“ you looked up at him, eyebrows knitted together.

“-this move has been hard on you, and trying to get used to all this-“ Nick inches forward, his smile morphed.

“Y/N,” your mother called you, beaming and excited, “you’re here! I missed you, baby! Come say hi to your dad.”

Your mother led you through the crowds with eagerness, excitement abound as she spoke loud and fast. If they hadn’t all known you were before, they sure as hell did now.

REALREALREAL THIS IS WHY I LOVE YOU MWAH!!!!! it's a kids show about trolls and how Jim becomes the troll hunter, being the first human trollhunter. it's so interesting, there's 3 parts to the series + 1 movie(the movie makes me wanna die though. never finished IT[major character death]) I <3 the first one (tales of Arcadia) seeing the development of Jim, Toby, and Claire. then comes 3below and then Wizards. they're all called "Trollhunters" just different aspects and plots within the same timeframe! 2nd one is about Steve and Eli. last one is about the emo bitch I can never remember his name😭he low-key looks like Johnnie BUR ANYWAYS

Disclaimer: A few years ago I took a look at my ‘read’- shelves and found them too male and too white. So hence, I like to challenge myself. As for 2023 I put these goals up: - At least 50% LGHBTQIA authors. - At least 50% female authors (I’d like it to be as high as possible, but I wasn’t planning to only read lesbians.) -Read 2666 by Roberto Bolano.

Unbeknownst to me at the start of the year, I had a lot of trouble with my own work, which limited reading in general. However, I did manage to hit all my targets. I read 21 women (63%), 17 LGHTQIA authors (51%) and dedicated a part of Summer to Bolano’s epic novel.

Looking back, my favourite books were written by the LGBTQIA authors. Audre Lorde's Sister Outsider was the definite #1, but there were also some other great efforts:

Ok, Clancy Brown has VA roles for both Rapunzels Dad and for Gumar the Black from Teollhunters I had an idea for a Tangled the Series AU.

Rapunzel has an older brother, who when he became old enough and trained enough traveled the lands of Corona looking for his lost little sister, then one day he comes back to the kingdom.

For looks I imagine he'd take after King Fredrick but has Arianas eyes

I haven’t seen any of Trollhunters but that sounds so cool!

Some Good!Gunmar AU Kotatious Crack

After a few centuries studying with the Gumm-Gumm’s Dictatious has become less of a curiosity among Gumar’s people but he does win their affection with his fascination and odd moments of compassion and insight.  None show the tribes fondness for the hanger-on as much as this instance.

Dictatious is summoned into Gunmar’s throneroom one day, and Kodanth is sent away. The Spymaster is considerably disquieted by this, but obeys, even if he has two conflicting worries. His position as Gunmar’s left hand, and the safety of a troll he may enjoy holding as much as he enjoys tearing him down.

The next morning, over a big breakfast of trespassers and a roasted elephant seal, Gunmar stands and declares that there will be a marriage hunt at midnight. Kodanth is shocked, and again, his confusion comes in twos.

1. The nearest troll tribe are the Frost Trolls, and they are the LAST clan Gunmar would want to kidnap from.

2. There hasn’t been a marriage hunt in decades.

He quickly sets to work hiding the changelings, sending out the ones he can on missions, concealing the others in safehouses and burrows. He sees the young bulls and mares gathering their weapons, armor and glug-skins, sees them all laughing and joking, preparing for the raid.

As the hour stretches on, Kodanth approaches Dictatious tent, and is shocked to see him putting on armor. He warns him not to go out, that HE may very well be taken as a war bride, but Dictatious says he vowed to understand Gumm-Gumm culture, not just learn it. Kodanth has a momentary facepalm, and one last word of caution.

“You know you’ll be expected to carry your mate back to camp and across the threshold?”

“Yes, well my strongest muscle may be in the cranial department, I’m sure I’ll manage.”

The war party gathers, Kodanth stands at Gunmar’s side to wish them luck. Dictatious looks more like a goblin than a troll, standing tiny among the thralls.

Then Gunmar bellows, announcing the hunt.

And very quickly, Dictatious darts forward, dropping his spear, and grabbing Kodanth’s arm. 

The Changeling, on reflex, tries to shake him off, but the little Conundrum clings with all four arms.

By now, the soldiers are chuckling a little, but a glare from Gunmar silences then.

And Dictatious, in a nervous, but loud voice, asks.

“Well? Have I captured you?”

Kodanth’s ears are pricked in disbelief, and he glances toward Gunmar again. 

“You may kill him, if you want.” 

“I am...considering, Dark Underlord.”

Kodanth regards his rival for a very very long moment. then sighs.

“you still have to carry me, you know.”

And Dictatious does. All the way over the threshold.

However, their wedding night is postponed because he did, indeed, throw out his back and two shoulders doing so.

In Mirrored Convictions, what emotions will Draal be feeling when he learns Barverra and Barabra are one and the same and Jim is related to Gumar?

And speaking of Draal, will he still be living with Jim in your AU? And how will Bular react to learning his sister can turn into a human or that his nephew is a halfling?

Draal will feel the most conflicted among the team. First, he has a personal grudge against Jim's family. Second, he'll question Jim's reason for sparing his life. And third, he'll obviously be mad at himself for not noticing anything fishy despite living in the basement. Draal's final solution, however, will show how much he has changed from the bully he was initially. Bular will simply get his world upside down, not to mention he'll have to deal with a third bombshell too (and this one will be even more damaging to his dignity).

Bin heute über die Grenze und somit in Botswana. Kurz vor der Grenze ist der Bwabwata National Park, wo ich richtig viele Kudu, Zebras und Warzenschweine gesehen habe. Bin in Botswana dann bis Gumare gefahren, bis es angefangen hat zu regnen und ich entschied hier zu schlafen.

Seit langem bin ich auch endlich wieder Dirt-Roads gefahren und selbst wenn die Straßen hier geteert sind, sind überall Löcher… welche teils auch geflickt wurden.
