he's always scolding you, telling you to eat healthier and look out for yourself. until eventually, you get sick of his lectures!

during the middle of one of his “eat healthy” lectures, you suddenly grab giulio by the collar and pull him into a kiss

the poor guy is caught completely off guard by that kiss and he's frozen in place when you pull away from his lips, blinking slowly

he opens his mouth for a moment, making it seem like he wants to say something, before falling silent again, as his cheeks turn into a light shade of pink

“i– w-what was i talking about again…?” he eventually stutters out, that kiss having seemingly wiped all of his memories

at least now you won't have to hear him lecture you anymore…

I am sorry I didn't answer sooner. First of all, thank you so much for asking 🥰 I love an excuse to talk about Medici.

So, I think there are two things to discuss here. The short answer is yes, they showed clear preference for Gulio and that definitely was felt but the other kids. More Piero than Giovanni, which takes me to my first point that is that even if it wasn't that way, I think Piero would still feel threatened by Gulio in general. I think that simply because he is the heir to the Medici legacy, Lorenzo would have been harder on him than on the rest. So basically I don't think that was the only reason Piero was the way he was.

The other thing to consider is why (I think at least) the Medici showed preference over Gulio, which wasn't really about him but about Guliano's death. They saw Guliano in Gulio, they felt like it was the only thing left of him (which isn't necessarily untrue).

Basically, it was a combination of both them putting a lot in Piero and giving too much attention to Gulio. Not the healthiest family dynamics of course 🤭

WELL of course Viera that choose to leave the forests of Othard tend to choose their own names. Ghoullio's birth name is Havilok, usually just went by Havi, and he actually went by that name for a long time after leaving the forest. He eventually adopted his city name, Ghoullio Junior, named for his mentor/lover who mysteriously died and left him with a lot of baggage. His mentor's name was Guleron Greyashe and went by Guli or Gulio, and was an officer in a pretty large crime syndicate. Guleron kind of took Havi under his wing when he was scared and alone and helped him come out of his shell and Havi was head-over-heels for him because of it. The other members of the crime family couldn't help but notice the way Havi followed Gulio around like a puppy and took to calling him "Gulio Junior". It was a pretty embarrassing thing and Havi and Guli never addressed it with each other even once, they had a complex relationship y'see, but after Guleron died, Havi left to restart again and chose to carry on his mentor through his name.

Obviously that's all a retcon lmao, ghoullio jr was definitely a screen name before it was an in-world name
