Gujarati songs slap because wdym someone wrote
Tari aankh no afini,
Tara bol no bandhani
Tara roop ni Punam no pagal eklo
Ho Tara roop ni Punam no pagal eklo.
Translation:
(I am) addicted to your eyes
(I am) bound to your words
The full moon of your sheer beauty, has made me a loon
The full moon of your sheer beauty has made a loon of me, and me alone.
And
Paan lilu joyu ne tame yaad aaya
Jaane Mausam no pehlo varsaad aavyo
Translation:
(I) saw a green (lively) leaf and thought of you,
Like the first rains of the monsoon

સાધારણ જીવનમાં એક મજા હોવી જોઈએ
Tumblr media

Hey Vivi! I'll talk about my task force, this time!
Task Force Shatrujeet 💀🗡️
Tumblr media
Col. Shaurya Kulshrestha
Shaurya found the task force named "Shatrujeet", which in translation means "winning against the enemy". The ideology of making this task force was to collect a group of commandos who have the full potential, ability and capability to deal with complex special operations, and protect the country from foreign threats.
The Colonel was Arjun's guide and mentor throughout his journey, before the responsibility of leading the task force landed on the Captain, making Shaurya confident that now he's independent and knows what to do.
Shaurya is part of the Mavericks, a secret division of the Indian Army, where elite soldiers are interlinked with the intelligence agencies.
The Colonel never actually mentioned if he was married or not. Some say that he never did, and some say he was divorced under some conditions. But, it's never proven, nor confirmed.
The Colonel had an old contact with General Shepherd, that paved the way for Arjun to join the Task Force 141.
Tumblr media
Capt. Arjun K. Dhingra
Arjun has a locket of his wife's picture and keeps it safe in his drawer. It motivates him into believing his wife's presence was always there. He also has Lakshya's fountain pen, the pen he used to write poems in his diary, as a memory.
The Captain has taken part in many crucial special operations, for his accurate strategic planning and leadership. The 9 PARA SF has always considered Arjun more reliable for going on missions, something which also irked the interest of General Shepherd that made him become a part of the 141.
Arjun's nature towards his commandos is kind of mixed. He sometimes shows concern, and kindness, but at the same time he's harsh and fierce. The conclusion can be that he wants the best for his commandos, and wants to train them enough so they're capable of handling any sort of tough obstacles.
Arjun has never tried to smile that much, ever since the tragedy. But thanks to Kavya, and the hope of his commandos, he was able to regain that happiness that was lost in his life back.
Arjun knows most regional languages, since the commandos are also trained to learn these languages for covert operations, respectively. He surprised Aditya one time.. by speaking fluent Gujarati.
Tumblr media
Lt. Aditya Tripathi
Aditya had shown to be a comforting presence among everybody, something which also enlightens others from their hard times.
Aditya is also a part-medic! He used to pursue medical studies to become a doctor like his mother, but under such circumstances, it made him join the special forces, and used that very knowledge to treat the wounded.
Aditya makes others happy and especially himself. Because in hard times, he suffers a little when he's not able to save a wounded person's life.
Tumblr media
Lt. Yuvraj Chaudhary
Yuvraj is respectful and generous to everyone, especially women. In his belief, he considers women as "devi" or goddess in translation, and wishes if more women joined the army.
Yuvraj met Aditya during the NDA, and even graduated in the IMA with him together. They've been very close to each other like brothers.
Yuvraj has a signature mark, rolling his moustache when he feels pride within himself, or if anything went successful. More like, saying "flawless".
Yuvraj is a Rajasthani, and he knows the Marwadi language. At times he mocks Aditya by saying something in his regional language, much to Tripathi's disappointment.
Capt. Venkateshwar Subramanian
(still need to find the faceclaim!)
Venkateshwar graduated from the OTA, as an computer engineer, joining the PARA SF and becoming a part of Task Force Shatrujeet.
Venkatesh has shown a lot of interest in technology since he was a young child, and always excelled in the field of computers, that made him a special programmer in the team.
Venkateshwar has close contact with Alyssa Martinez (@alypink), who is also a programmer in the Mexican Special Forces, and they are known to have worked together in a joint operation.

so for me, desi light academia is:
- reading desi literature (obviously)
- watching Satyajeet Ray films, and other acclaimed movies of the olden times, regardless of languages
- learning desi languages! tamil and urdu and sanskrit and gujarati and bengali and everything! reading poems and books in these languages!
- celebration of festivals <3, singing and dancing to folk songs, bhajans, sufi songs, gospels, keeping fasts for ramzan or shraavan, wearing traditional clothes with traditional ornaments. kajal!!!
- cooking desi dishes! dal makhani, and rasam saadam and bisi bela baath and naan and dal baati and everything!
- casually wearing traditional clothes! there should be no special occasion for wearing an anarkali!
- self care? indulging in applying multani mitti masks, and gulab jal for toner, and all the hairmasks your grandmother might make at home
- lighting candles? how about diya for a change!
- journaling in your mother tongue instead of english. it can be another desi language as well!
- if you're religious, read religious texts. explore indus valley civilisation and the cholas and cheras and philosophies of the old
- about mindfulness, isn't rangoli and mehendi almost therepy?
celebrate your culture and go ahead in your academic life as well!

Final Project
Bridging Boundaries
Bridging Boundaries is a visual poem of contrasts and connections—a dialogue between two worlds, Gujarati and Chinese, each vibrant yet yearning for unity. The journey begins in fragments, where black-and-white reflections meet the vividness of life. The mirrors hold stories of incompleteness, of identities seeking fulfillment, yet their stillness whispers a promise of wholeness.
As the series unfolds, color seeps in—gentle, deliberate—bridging the gap between separation and unity. The mirror, once a silent observer, transforms into a threshold, reflecting not just faces, but the merging of traditions and the essence of shared humanity.
Glowing hands speak of collaboration, light becomes a silent language of hope, and gestures echo across cultures, uniting differences in their tender embrace. The interplay of shadows and illumination celebrates the beauty of individuality and the transformative power of connection.
This work invites viewers to step into the in-between, to explore the harmony that arises when boundaries dissolve, and to witness the vibrant dance of cultures meeting and becoming one.

Not to toot my own horn but guys Gujarati Ghazals are on another level
In a quiet balcony, (she was) waiting for someone,
I saw the queen of beauty
I saw a princess
The mehndi on her hands was blossoming
The Kohl in her eyes was blossoming
Like a small garden, developing with a beautiful weather
Her smile held a hundred songs
Even her silence was music
She had affection for even shadows
Her love; bound to (sound of) footsteps
She decorated a palace of dreams
With the asopalav (leaves) of her memories
With her downturned gaze, she had made time stop to her will
She bounced like waves
And twirled like wind
If someone came to her smiling, she blushed, lovely
Youth had blessed her
There were no pains for her
Nature itself was desperate to be loved by her
After long years, I'm seeing the same balcony again,
The same one
There's no music nor melody here
No love bound to (sound of) footsteps
There is no palace of dreams here
And no dance of love
It feels too lonely,
It feels too melancholy
She was not my lover, nor my bride
I had only seen her waiting at her balcony
Who she was, what was her name—
Even these are not things I know of
Even then, my heart feels melancholy
It feels lonely.
Shaant Zarukhe (at the quiet balcony) by Saif Palanpuri
[My translation is really rough but it's close enough]

હું કેવી વાર્તાઓ સંભળાવું
Tumblr media

Sanskrit's Influence on the Hindi Language
Sanskrit is often considered the oldest language in the world. Sanskrit has survived for 5000 years in both oral and written form. It comes under the Indo-European family of languages. Interestingly, Sanskrit has given rise to many modern Indian languages. Hindi and other regional languages find their origins in this ancient tongue. It is interesting to explore the relationship between modern Hindi and ancient Sanskrit.
Historical Context
Sanskrit’s first written record dates back to 1500 BC. According to oral traditions, the language can be as old as 5000 years. On the other hand, Hindi is only 200 years old. Hindi was developed as an official common language by Bharatendu Harishchandra during the British Raj. Indians wanted an official language of correspondence without the Persian influence of Urdu. Thus, Hindi was created from the classical Hindustani after subtracting major Persian words.
Linguistic Influence
Any Sanskrit language course will tell you about its linguistic influence on languages like Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati, and Awadhi. Such languages have many words whose roots are Sanskrit words. The same is the case for Hindi. For example, the Sanskrit word ‘nidra’ is the root of the Hindi word ‘nind’. Similarly, we have root words for brother, mother, tree, fig, lion, etc. in Sanskrit. You will find thousands of such words in a Sanskrit dictionary.
Cultural Impact
Sanskrit has also influenced Indian culture a lot. Many Bollywood songs and theatre plays have their origin in Sanskrit literature. Bollywood movies also have references to Sanskrit epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata. Hindi philosophers also use these references in their debates. You will come across many Hindi poems and prose that refer to these characters to add context in the situation.
Modern Relevance
Sanskrit still commands great respect in literary circles. Although an extinct language, there have been attempts to revive it. The language continues to influence Hindi literature and vocabulary even today. Hindi language courses will teach you to coin new words to keep up with scientific inventions. Such words always use Sanskrit roots. ‘Antariksh yatri’ is Hindi for astronaut. It has Sanskrit roots.
Sanskrit's enduring influence on Hindi is undeniable. It enriches its vocabulary, grammar, and cultural context. Sanskrit continues to shape modern Hindi despite being an ancient language. It is demonstrating the timelessness and adaptability of its linguistic legacy. The relationship between the two languages remains a fascinating area of study and appreciation.
