Irish-uwufication is so fucking weird anyway but like people act like Hozier - who writes primarily blues songs about politics, books and music he finds interesting, and having sex with hot women he picks up in bars - is just a nature man is so weird. Like you have Americans saying he is a bog man, he only writes acoustic songs about chaste love and nature. He lives in the woods and doesn’t interact with society at all. He is made of trees and fairies because that’s what Ireland is.

Another honorable mention for now, and I had to look up these guys' names but I've heard their music for years and it's mind blowing, Danny Fardy Johnston and Gilberto Reátegui holding down the 6-string representing the insane psychedelic cumbia scene from the 1960s Peru, a scene that had a ton of guitarists who could be on this list so this one is more of a rabbit hole...

I have to throw Eric Clapton in this mix, his cover of Robert Johnson's "Crossroads" is always blowing my mind, have to admit I've heard this song maybe hundreds of times but never seen the video of that concert performance in 1968 (key of E minor and plays A minor at times):

I'm not sure who's guitar is who's but the guitar from the Dur Dur Band belongs on superlative... plz lmk if you find anyone better on funk/disco style guitar than Abukar Dahir Qasim (guitar), Abdillahi Ujeeri (Bass Guitar) and Yusuf Abdi Haji Aleevi (guitar)

I'm also....Khruangbin.... haha Mark Speer is still alive and making guitar music in his prime so it's tough to put him on an immortal list but I think Mark has earned it and this song is one of those that proves his place (key of A minor)...

Another Dutch band I have to put on here has a guitarist, Jac van Exter, who is super super young, but I know he's on this list and it will be amazing to watch where his career goes, but this cut in C minor kills me:

everyone assuming eddie's physical shape is the worst because he never works out and skips gym class all the time, nopes out of basketball games to sit on the sidelines with robin to talk shit, and flames jocks and sports every chance he gets etc etc. but the thing is, eddie is in amazing shape. he goes to join steve on a run one day and has no trouble keeping up until he inevitably gets bored and just stops, but still steve is surprised to see how in shape eddie is.

that is, until he goes to see corroded coffin playing at the hideout and he sees eddie jumping and running and absolutely performing on that stage for almost two hours. that's two hours of singing background vocals, jumping in time, hyping up the audience, doing his little stagey posey jumps right on time for the drops, etc.

eddie playing with corroded coffin is essentially him doing a whole 90 minute cardio workout and steve never questions his physical fitness again
