#psyching myself up to try and watch the new series of heartstopper#I don't make a lot of personal posts these days and it feels easier to talk about this in the tags for some reason now - like I'm whisperin#but series 2 absolutely wrecked me in a way that is not entirely healthy#isaac's storyline is just a bit too close to home for me and I became a bawling mess every single time he was on screen#and not in a cathartic way. in a like I am dredging up the trauma of growing up aroace without having fully come to terms with it yet way.#I've come such a long way with slowly starting to feel pride in being aroace even in just the last few months#that I wondered if I'd actually be fine with it this time. I even considered rewatching s2 in preparation. turns out I'm not fine.#I watched a recap of s2 to try and remember what happened and uhhhh that clip of isaac rejecting that love interest in the bookshop#(with the novel loveless blurry in the background) has already brought up emotions.#then I thought I'd scroll some spoilers in his character tag just to prepare myself for what would happen with him this season#and just reading posts (mild spoilers here) about him being proudly aroace have sent me into paroxysms of sobbing yet again so....#I've honestly come such a long way in the last few years and the last few months. I'm even talking about it on tumblr now.#but I guess most of my work on that front has been accepting the present and the future of not having or wanting a partner.#whereas there's still a lifetime of trauma from the way it made me feel in the past#both growing up feeling alienated and having no idea what was different about me and the extent to which I tried to make it not be true#for years after first having an inkling of it being a possibility. I would have done anything to make myself alloromantic.#(the realisation of asexuality came later and was more of a 'huh I guess that makes sense' thing lol)#and even though I no longer want to change this fact about who I am#I guess I'm more traumatised by it all than I consciously realised. genuinely thought I'd be fine at this point.#anyway ramble over. I'm actually not sure if I should watch the new season or not. will it be helpful to work through the emotions?#or just re-traumatise me? felt more like the latter last time so hmmm.#guess I'm going to have to think about it.#it feels ridiculous that such a fluffy show - in which the character in question is pretty minor - should provoke such a reaction#but there you go#mine#tag chat#personal

OKAY OKAY SO THE TRAILER’s DROPPED AND WHILE IM SO BEYOND PSYCHED TO SEE EVERYONE I HAVE SOME OBSERVATIONS. (With pictures). Apologies for the long post lol
First off:
Powers confirmed coming back for everyone!
Five is teleporting, Viktor’s powered up, Ben’s got the horror, Luther has his muscles again
Speaking of Luther, he seems to be all over the place. In some shots he has his muscles, in some he doesn’t, in one shot he’s donning spacegear, another he’s in a ballpit, and they even make him sit in the back of the van for old time’s sake
No Sloane tho?? No sparrows at all as far as I can tell :| idk how to feel about that
Another little detail I noticed was when they all pile in the van together, Lila calls shotgun and is promptly shoved aside by Five out of sheer pettiness. And then she has to sit in the middle
They seem to have a bonding moment in the subway with Lila sobbing as Five holds onto her, which I’m very curious about (and scared)
Diego’s shown at a birthday party taking care of a little girl!! With braids! Possibly their daughter? Talk of a rescue mission makes me think their daughter might be kidnapped
Allison shown with a kid also has me thinking Claire returns which makes me so happy
Allison also doesn’t seem to be shot in a villainous or shunned light, so it looks like this season isn’t intent on bashing her (yet. As far as I can see, which honestly thank goodness…)
The dark circles under Ben’s eyes worry me, almost as much as the shot of him in prison(?) and him seemingly being out of sync with the others. Is this Sparrow Ben perhaps? Does it have anything to do with the possibility of there being another Ben? (Maybe he’s accused of identity theft?)
There’s also Another Tentacle in the promo image shared yesterday which I noticed. Maybe a second horror?
I thought maybe it had something to do with Jennifer since there’s been an actor hired for a character with that name, but now I wonder with the two Bens situation…
Reginald might have his Umbrella academy in the woods again? aligning with the comics. Unless this is someone else’s house. But the windows and white brick match.
Really curious how the academy has been rebranded in this universe to be a house for boys. Six, specifically. Seeing as how Allison is the only umbrella-born girl, it’s interesting to see how this universe has shifted to accommodate them all
Viktor might be a bartender?? The area looked familiar but it could just be my eyes. But apart from his Direct Interview with Reginald, (oooh scary) he seems to get in a physical fight with someone. Which is a new approach for him as a characater
Forgive my shitty captures but if it’s not Luther, diego, klaus or five I’m guessing it must be Ben?? But it’s hard to say, but he sure is going at it tho
Who are the square dancers??? My heart wants it to be jayme and Alphonso but the people here look older to me, so it could be Nick Offerman and Megan Mullalley.
Actually upon inspection the fuzzy square dancer has a matching beard pattern to Nick offerman Exactly. So that’s absolutely him.
Klaus really seems to be struggling again, and has those plastic gloves in almost every shot I see. Him dressing dark and drab also says something about his state of mind as well as the panic attack he seems to have :( but at least they’re all back together 🥲
Looks like they also seem to celebrate Christmas together? And a birthday. Honestly I’m just so happy to see them together for events like this I love these dysfunctional dorks so much
There’s so many more things I’m sure I missed and I’ll be rewatching this a few more times until the season drops (three months!!) but in the wise words of Diego: Let’s Fucking GOOOOOOOO I’m so excited for this. HELL YEAH, THE UMBRELLAS BACK TOGETHER AGAIN BAYBEEE
#tua#the umbrella academy#umbrella academy#tua s4#tua s4 spoilers#luther hargreeves#diego hargreeves#allison hargreeves#klaus hargreeves#five hargreeves#ben hargreeves#viktor hargreeves#lila pitts#ok no more tagging I’m just#psyched#lol#WERE SO BACK#long post

School Spirits - Tragedy and Despair
So I've been rewatching the whole thing, and with the ending in mind a pattern emerged. Which I think ties it all together very cleanly on a narrative and thematic note, across (most) of the characters connected to the hereafter.
Spoilers for- everything.
So every ghost we really get to know has one thing in common with each other, one line that can be easily summed up by Maddie:
"She killed my spirit."
Rhonda was just betrayed by the person she trusted most. Charley had just destroyed the heart of the person he loved most. Wally got his entire being crushed by his mother's fervor for his success for her. Dawn had her entire world shatter because none of her friends liked her. Maddie had just been emotionally destroyed by her mother's betrayal.
And Simon did not know what to do next without Maddie in his life.
I include Simon because, like Maddie, his tether to the hereafter happened while alive. And that's why the pattern works so well. I don't think the tragic death is enough here. I don't think they just have to die with unfinished business. They have to already be destroyed by something in the living world to trap them in the other world.
Maddie heard Janet before she died. She could see Janet and Mr. Martin before her body got taken for a joyride. And she got there because of who she is. Because, if we trust Sandra in the finale, Maddie will fight for you. So hearing someone in distress, of course Maddie runs into the trouble.
The Theme
So this shared detail gives everyone the same tragedy, a betrayal at the heart of what's trapped them in place. A common through line of every character we have. Which can get improved by adding more examples, I'm guessing Season 2 someone else in Maddie's living circle will be able to see her, and I imagine it'll be whoever gets emotionally destroyed early in the S2 Premiere.
My bet, for the record, is Claire or Xavier. Claire I think has the strongest impact, her life is also a disaster but out of focus while she was 'the most obvious non-red herring suspect.' But I can see it being 'boy who nearly died with an abusive as hell powermad father' just- being destroyed by anything there. Hell, I can see 'my ex-girlfriend nearly killed me with my truck' leaving a lasting impression on his psyche too.
This shared point of trauma, different kinds but the same timeline, is too many examples to be dismissed. And every narrative has a degree of facing, and accepting, that pain. We've seen small steps from everyone towards this, but nobody really getting there because they wanted a Season 2.
We don't know the exact mechanism for how Dawn left, and I don't know if we will ever see it unless they decide that Mina or the Band Ghosts move on. We know that healing is probably internal, because it didn't move Charley on. He healed Emilio, but that isn't looking at the pain in Charley's chest.
The Flaw
The big caveat is that there are four ghosts (three ghosts and one group) we've met but don't have evidence of a tragedy before their death.
Mr. Martin
Janet
Mina
Band Kids
Mina's high strung, but we don't know the extent of what happened to her before she died. I can see her being belittled or dismissed as the high strung stage crew she is right before her death from the bright lights.
The Band Kids don't really have innate personalities and if they were all pretty normal beforehand, they could undermine everything. However based on the way those guys interact I think they were at each other's throats on the bus, and haven't forgiven each other.
The last two are the big mystery for S2 so we'll find out as S2 rolls along, whenever it happens. They aren't a point of disproving things, rather they are just the next natural stop in the story.
#school spirits#maddie nears#wally clark#charley (school spirits)#rhonda (school spirits)#simon elroy#claire zomer#I want more mina to more readily ship Maddie/Mina#I apologize for nothing#I double apologize for nothing about some word choices around character deaths

🌼 Big Info/Update on my "Coco" Book 🌼
So it's almost been a year ...
Wow! What a journey so far! I wanted to take my time to talk to you "every dear one of you who loves my art and follows me" for a bit. Now, this will be a long post so keep that in mind!
I cannot remember a year in which I went through so many changes. I grew a lot mentally and I learned a lot. When I first watched Coco, I didn't know at all what kind of impact it will have on me. I know it did for a whole lot many more than just me. It's not just a movie, it's something that moved my heart in depths I cannot explain. Look, the only movie franchise who ever was able to impact me that deeply was Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, but then Coco came along and well ... Héctor! ... and Ernesto.
But talking about Héctor in every little detail possible is planned for another post. There is so much! And Ernesto even more. Ernesto is actually (has actually) been my biggest surprise this year 🤯 And let me tell you why for a little because this is a important part of this whole post!
Villains. We all know what a villain is. When I first saw Ernesto, I was instantly drawn to his charmful personality. I love mexico! I love mexicans, (they happen to be one of the funniest, kindest and most temperamental ones I ever came across and they understand how to celebrate life and death!) At first, we only see what Ernesto can do without knowing anything just yet. I was blown! Let me get this down, he's a musícan with a inrcedible voice (I have an opera education background so I connect to his trained voice), he's a actor, a showman, he's a phenomenal horseback rider and he's handsome! I don't need to tell you about the punch in the guts you end up having later!
Oh, yes! Something I would say! Seriously! I do act like that whenever I am burning for something! *cough* snowflakes quite recently! It was late and my boss only had 1 client left and it started snowing big flakes and I went full child excited mood "think Ernesto and fireworks" until they hit me with their "Augh, snow! Cold, wet, annoying!" And then I literally turned into this cinematic drama queen telling them about nostalgia and the spirit of christmas! *laugh* Their faces 😆 Bah humbug! Truly!
Can you imagine Ernesto in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge? I can! 😆 Héctor, Ceci and Imelda as the 3 spirits of christmas. Yes sir! I want that for christmas! *cough* aaand I'm rambling! I was talking about my book ... yes ... back to that!
Anyway! Moving on! I've told you before that as an INFP personality it's in my nature anyway to think and feel myself deeper into things (whatever they are) and I need about 2 or 3 rows to analyze and solidifying my opinion. That's what happened with Ernesto. Yes, at first I was "heck this guy!" Mildly said, I did not like Ernesto. One. Bit. I was mad and I, for the first few moments, labled him as a villain too! But then I rewatched and rewatched and rewatched Coco and I analyzed Ernesto. And after I went "wait a dang minute!" I realized, no, this man is certainly not your typical "Bad guy!" And after my Dad "an ex-soldier and chef prison guard" confirmed my analysis, I started researching and studying on human behavior, trauma (PTSD) and especially psyche! Now, I wanted to do this anyway because of Héctor and Imelda but it played into my hands with Ernesto. But it also flipped my whole opinion of him. It is a canon fact, that Héctor and Ernesto grew up together and were like brothers to each other and I had the statement, that Ernesto isn't proud of what he's done. Oh boy did that flip tables for me! Because guess what! A true villian is evil, period. You don't go thinking about any redemption because they are that far gone! And a truly rotten, evil soul does not regret their actions or deeds, they are perfectly fine and content with them. I would love to share my whole Sherlock Holmes 🔎 action I did on Ernesto with you but I can't because that would def. spoil everything that is to come!
Ok, this whole Ernesto case has changed and impacted my book! And not only that. The longer I wrote, I got back my grammar and writing skills (after not truly writing for years!) I improved and only after months and then going back to the first half of my book, I realized that many things weren't the way I wanted them anymore. The plot was now solid (wasn't at first) some age/timeline aspects changed! I tweaked some things! Grammar too. And that means I will need to go over my whole first bunch of chapters eventually!
Now I really know where my book is heading! From beginning to end! I now have the silver lining! That also means, the Title of my book has changed! But I will change it in time, not just yet!
The thing with Ceci 👓
Honestly, when I first included Ceci in my book, I, just like with many things, as I mentioned, had no idea what to do with her! I knew I wanted her in, because of that one scene! She instantly had me with her sassy attitude. And since it was pretty clear that she and Héctor knew each other and that she's been helping him not only once, I knew that there had to be a connection. And so I went with it. But that was still raw and not well thought through. That came fairly quickly though! And by now, Ceci is, next to Imelda one of the main characters! She plays a big role and she will be very important for the future!
My Book - Not just any other Fanfic
I know that everyone has their own opinion, view of things and headcanons. This is mine! But while it is my headcanon, I had the goal from the moment I sat down and decided "I'm going to do this!" To make my book feel as canon as possible. I knew I didn't just want to create yet another "great" fanfiction, I wanted to create something that is way more than just that. Something that could give huge Coco fans like me something back. Something that has an impact, something that shares what I have in my heart at least a little! I wanted to do something that hasn't been done before! And for once, I dedicated myself to it, no matter how long it will take, I will finish it! Oof, didn't that sound like something Héctor would say?
This thing has become my baby! 😂
I wanted to stay "true" to each character, stay in line and make readers go "yep, that's how it all happened" I wanted the characters to stay real and authentic. I didn't want to change them or make them do things that would fall out of their character. I knew I wanted my book to circle around Héctor mainly but the longer I worked on it, the more I understood that Ernesto, Ceci and Imelda are just as much of a part of Héctor! And developing their story, they became a huge part.
I wanted and still want to bring emotions across as if you'd feel them! I also knew and now I know even more, that my book is "in no way" for children! It is in everyway for us adults, for teens at least! Because I go deeper and touch on topics that are scary, painful, harsh and dark. You'll see that even more in chapters to come!
Conclusion ❗️
Since it's a real book I am working on, I realized that it is pretty normal that some chapters take weeks, sometimes even months to write. I understood that it's ok to take my time! And if it ends up taking me 2 or 3 years to finish it. I stopped feeling guilty when I cannot post new content fast enough because it just takes a lot of time and effort. And besides my passions, life happens and continues. Work happens to be exhausting sometimes, not all weekends end up being a free-time for me. And there are family gatherings, normal things to do, as plain as grocery shopping. And recently, christmas. But I appreciate every time I get to work on my book and my art!
-
So, yes, I had to get to this conclution on my own. While it is clear for others. And that has everything to do with my personality. I love pleasing people and making people happy. And by all means, I love love love what I do! If I could I would double my arms and work on more tings faster! Sometimes I wish I could stay home and work on my hobbies only but that isn't going to happen for me.
So at that point. I want to say "Thank you!" AGAIN! For all you guys who have been sticking around so far! For all the kind words! I hope you'll stick around for the next year/years to come and keep Coco alive!
🌼 Coco is timeless 🌼
It is so much more than just bringing across a deep important message! It has earned itself a very special place in my heart! It has caused me to pick up writing again, and it made me pick up my guitar and finally learn it! I will finish telling Héctor's story! And Ernesto's along with it! And I am no longer scared if some might end up hating it or calling me crazy for it! Because, like Héctor said, then I am, un poco loco! And I want to be nothing else!

I'm reading your anon messages and I love that you become a fringe/Anna guru... That is no one better for the title lol
And I kinda wanted to participate too hehe so... I just read the answer you give about season 4 and the hatred people had for Peter. I'm from that time, but I had forgotten how real it was. I was quite young while the fourth season was airing, and I always loved Peter and Polivia, but I have to admit that he annoyed me a bit at times hehehe, and I often felt like it wasn't the right time to focus on him, but today I don't know if that happened by the influence of what was happening in the fandom... Besides, I was so focused on the multiple theories that were floating around that I didn't fully enjoy that season. Recently, I rewatched the entire series, and it was great to just enjoy the journey already knowing the ending. I understood Peter's side much more and was able to see things in the character and in that season that I hadn't been able to see back then. I also can not express how much I agree with you that in the end, Peter was just a victim of multiple changes of paths from the writers and the bad execution of their ideas. I know that you're going to start rewatching it now... Do you have any expectations? (Some kind of revelation hehe) Or do you think your opinion will change about anything? Hope this doesn't upset you, I'm so excited that fringe fandom is active again! xx
Hiii! Thank you for your message, always happy to hear from other people who experienced the show live! ❤️
I am clearly VERY biased when it comes to Fringe and its characters, especially Peter and Olivia because I spent so many years of my life writing about them and their psyche, I can't untangle my own headcanons about them and their thought processes from what's actually canon. So I'll never claim my opinions to be sound or objective, they are definitely emotionally driven 😅
That being said, I do think the very very strong reactions/opinions that were all over the fandom back when the show was airing influenced us all who participated in it. Like, to this day, as I said before, I am incapable of reacting normally when people criticize some aspects of s4, even though they are *right* to do so, and I even agree with some of those things, rationally. Except that I am not rational at all when it comes to people being super harsh on Olivia and/or Peter in that season because, fandom trauma haha
I was actually thinking about how much/how well I remember the show, since I'm about to rewatch it after 6 years. I basically still remember the first 3 seasons by heart, I watched and rewatched them so much. But season 4? Some episodes, I only vaguely remember the plot 😂 Season 5 too, to an extent, but that's more because rewatching it back then was too painful and too closely linked to feelings of 'REMEMBER WHEN FRINGE ENDED AND YOU WERE HEARTBROKEN?'
I don't really have any expectations for my rewatch, save for the fact that I expect to be crying basically all the time. I've been waiting all week to start, and I keep randomly crying when I get thinking about some aspects of the show, especially the characters. Granted I'm hormonal but still, I'm slightly emotionally compromised, I feel like my 6 years of bottled-up feelings are bursting out, it's already been an interesting experience and I haven't even started 😂
I guess I'm most curious about how I'll handle season 4 now? I did rewatch it a couple of times after the show ended, but I hadn't really had any time to distance myself from all the BS lol. I don't expect my opinions to change much though, on anything. Like I said, I'm too wrapped up in old feels for me to be objective about anything xD

I don't know if its the same for other people as well, but sometimes i feel like questions are not specific enough. Like based on how a question is phrased, even if apparently they can be similar i would probably answer in many different ways. Like the last "get to know me" tag game.
I have some tv series that i believe are my favourite, that is different from the list of series that i believe are masterpieces, that is different again from the list of series that i would say to someone to get to know me.
The series that are my favourite are those i believe i would choose over others new or old, even for a rewatch. Those kinda series that i probably rewatch often or more often then others
The series that i believe are masterpieces are those that are technically brilliant, both in text and invisuals, those kinda series that surprise me often during the watchthrough. They can surprise me only once, or even surprise me later. Those kinda series i might have watched only once, i might not even remember the title at times. They might be extremely moving, or scary and so i might not watch them ever again.
The series that i would say to someone to get to know me, are the ones that impacted me, that made me grow as a person, that made me discover parts of myself, the ones that influenced how i talk and how i interact with people, the ones that i often reference or the ones that made me discover a passion etc.
And this reasoning also work for movies.
In the last "get to know me" tag game i tried to do a mix between my favourite series and the series to know me as a person. Cause one series that impacted me a lot was Lie to me, but like that was really good just in the first season then the quality crashed hard. But that series really made me interested about psychology and i learned a lot from it. It made me buy books on the subjects shown on there and it made me go into the psycology rabbit hole then then made me discover things about myself and i think its making me a better person overall. Another series that really impacted me a lot was BlackMirror, its really eye opening about certain subjects about morality and ethics but its so hard to watch so i usually watch episodes only once, i did twice just for some. Another series, or well universe of series, i should have probably added is the YouTube Theorist Channels (Game, Film, Food, Style), they have been a constant in my life together with Psych. Been watching both since i was a teen i believe and yeah even though i never interacted with the fandom i think its something that does define me and probably i have to thank for my interest in theories and wanting to guess what happens in the show while watching. Family and friends often dont like this about myself cause i often spoil them by guessing right but hey i cant stop, i just try to find likeminded people who like to theorize with me, so i can avoid spoiling them.
i dont know how to end this so yeah bye
#me#just thinking about how i think about things#maybe i think too rationally about this stuff but i think the differences are big#lie to me#Black mirror#game theory#film theory#food theory#style theory

As the summer begins to wind down, I want to share a few non-spoiler things about my experience reliving Digimon's "AiM era" (which covers Adventure, Adventure 02, and Tamers).
(Note: I will not go in-depth because I have a couple followers actively watching this franchise so let's cut to the chase.)
June
Adventure had the least impact on me since I knew most of the story and background already from watching the dub during my childhood. Although, that did not affect my enjoyment in the slightest as the moments between seeing Mimi and [my boi] Gomamon still hit the feels as it did the first time.
(He is best digimon; don't @ me).
[Side note: I did start to let Gabumon slide as second best, since I do remember loving him as a kid for looking LIKE a doglike creature, and MetalGarurumon is still one of the coolest Ultimate forms at that point.]
As for the music? Of course, Butter-fly was a huge nostalgic punch (for the first week), but then it got old (in a weird way). BRAVEHEART still kicks ass though. In terms of the ED, hearing "I Wish" and "Keep on" felt nice to revisit AiM (Ai Maeda) early in her career trying to perfect those vocals (more on that later).
=Let's fast-forward to 02.=
July
(Is "currencist" a good adjective to describe a noob who refuses to accept anything but dollars? )
This is the season I watched over and over again in reruns and still cannot get over it. It ties in with the original 8 as a continuation, but is HEAVILY driven with spoilers. With that, the only change I notice is the fact I finally paid attention more to the ending, which I failed to understand for the last two instances I watched this.
All I can say is "what a literal dark turn".
Nevertheless, the music was a memorable portion of this season. Target ~Akai Shougeki~ is my personal favorite OP with Kouji Wada putting a lot of effort into the song. Miyazaki returns with BRAVEHEART but also Break Up!, a huge double-header of hits to my ears. "Ashita wa Atashi no Kaze ga Fuku" by AiM, on the other hand, is AiM at her literal rise. Her vocals improved so much throughout the ED, and has become my favorite ED overall as of recently. All three singers brought their A-game for this sequel.
Oh, and one more thing: THE NEW TRIO. I can't choose who gets my heart I guess.
August
(I LOST COUNT OVER HOW MANY TIMES THIS BASTARD KEEPS SAYING "MOUMANTAI").
All crossover ideas aside, it was a pleasure [and a pain] to rewatch this spinoff. Supposedly, I had to remember this season was directed by someone who worked on Evangelion; thus, the darker vibe lurking over the usual Digimon traits. Despite the oncoming fear factor ranging from [this spoiler] to [that spoiler], the season still left a massive scar on my psyche. As for the main characters, Ruki and Renamon are still my guilty duo. I still get pumped up looking at Kyubimon every time it appears on screen.
The music this season is decent, although...
[Side note: Once upon a time, I actually considered Days~Aijou to Nichijou~ to be my favorite ED from AiM. However, upon discovering the English translation...]
(I've been living a lie for 8 years).
-----
Overall, this has been an insane, memorable trip back in time for me. Unfortunately, fall is approaching and I must move on from this nostalgic phase.
------
With the "Digital Summer" over, let's get into what is in store for September. Luckily, I have already lined up something (good, I suppose). The only catch? WE HAVE TO GO BACK ABOUT 13 YEARS.
IT'S TIME TO GO BACK TO THE 80s!!!
Now, if I can remember which button it is to reveal the hint...*brb; pushing buttons*
Okay! Here is the hint:
(If I did an audio hint, it would be a dead giveaway).
Until then, here's hoping your buddy doesn't have a bonk stick nearby.

Hello, it’s Sunny! Good news, my Secret Santa gave me a visit yesterday. I like the fact we’re all classic rock blogs or fans. It does help us find something talk about and bond over. Other fandoms should do it too. So I see you like anime. I do too but I’ve been watching less lately. What shows do you like? Do you like Studio Ghibli films? I’ve watched quite a few of them myself starting with either Spirited Away or Kiki’s Delivery Service. They are so stunning visually. The music in them is wonderful too. As for shows, I didn’t watching them until I watched the original Fruits Basket show with my brother and then eventually Naruto and Naruto Shippuden (which I still haven’t finished). I’d like to hunt for new shows to watch so recommendations would be nice. :)
There’s another 60s band that reminds me of The Zombies called The Left Banke. They’re a lot more obscure but very very good. The lead singer also reminds me of Colin Blunstone a bit. They had good hits like Walk Away Renee, Pretty Ballerina, and Desiree. Shadows Breaking Over My Head is really good too.
I’ve never listened to 60s music from other countries besides US and UK. I’m curious to know what music in Japan sounded like. By the way do you have any favorite anime openings/endings or anime music in general? I really like the classic Pokemon theme song myself.
By the way, the types of history I love the most is US history, European history, and Ancient history (esp Greece, Rome, Egypt), film history, women’s history, and black history. This semester I took classes about The Holocaust, Modern Europe, and California History. Very interesting and but also very sad at times. How do you like your classes? What exactly do you learn in emergency management? My dad’s an EMT/Ambulance driver. I’m guessing you probably learn how to work with people like him. Anyways, I got class. Talk to you later! Bye! ☀️
I do like anime and manga! Most of the things I like are older, though. I'm pretty bad about keeping up with new things in all forms of media ;; I do like Ghibli films! Kiki's Delivery Service is probably my favorite. Right now, it's about the time of year I start wanting to rewatch Dear Brother, which is a gorgeously animated soap-opera-levels-of-melodramatic show from the early 90s. (It's based on a manga from the 70s, which is when shoujo melodrama was at its peak, so that explains it.) I feel like a grandma having to watch her "stories" when I put that one on. I can't stop watching!
Look at it! Even little moments like this just look so nice. :3
Ooh, I love the Left Banke and baroque pop from the 60s in general! Walk Away Renee was one of my favorite songs I heard on the oldies station as a kid, and Pretty Ballerina sometimes makes me legitimately emotional (but a lot of things do tbh).
Music in Japan in the 60s was a lot of covers of US/UK artists, but a lot of the time, lyrics were translated into Japanese. If you have Spotify, a few compilation albums you can check out are Monster A-Go-Go, Slitherama, Big Lizard Stomp!, and Sixties Japanese Garage-Psych Sampler. The first three have some weird interludes of music from kaiju films that the person who put the compilations together threw in, but they're still really good. Also, you can find whole albums by The Mops and The Tempters on there.
There are also some compilations put out a while ago called Nippon Girls (vol. 1 / vol. 2) and G.S. I Love You, which I found on YouTube. As far as music from all over, a compilation I really like is Nuggets II: Original Artyfacts from the British Empire and Beyond. I found that one on CD on eBay so I listen to it in my car sometimes.
I was always interested in natural disasters and things like that when I was a kid (I was a nerd who would read the 'what to do in case of emergency' manual we had at home), so I thought emergency management would be an interesting thing to pursue. Basically, emergency managers are the ones who create response plans for disasters in their areas, coordinate the response when the disaster does occur, and keep everyone up-to-date with the latest information gathered from people on the front lines (like EMTs). I'm good with organizing information and things like that, so I thought it would be a good fit.
Now that I've gone on for way too long ... I hope you have a lovely Wednesday and the rest of your classes go well!

Last song: Zombie Zoo by Tom Petty: Super fun song, maybe some ridiculous lyrics, but I’ve always loved it and it recently cycled to be one of my favorites again. Also it makes me want to make like an A to Z playlist of my favorite songs sometime.
Currently watching: Yellowjackets! I’m not quite sure what it is about the show exactly, but it scratches an itch in my brain that I never knew was there. Unfortunately, it’s been slow going, because I’m watching it with my fiancé and we’ve both been so insanely busy with work and wedding planning. We just finished season one a couple days ago though and I’m so excited for season two.
I’m also rewatching New Girl and Psych, because it’s nice to have something fun to on in the background while I work.
Currently reading: . . . I honestly don’t know - I’ve been so busy that I haven’t read an actual book in a long time, so I kind of have three answers?
I’m pretty sure I’m theoretically in the middle of Daisy Jones and the Six though, except it’s been so long that I’d probably have to start over to know what’s going on.
If you count reading specific myths and chapters for reference as reading a book, then it’s my encyclopedia of worldwide mythology. I last looked up some myths about Hephaistos’ birth and parentage to win a debate with my mom and the death of Orpheus for my fic There is No Escape. . .
And the last book that I KNOW I finished was Joseph Campbell’s the Power of Myth, which I read on a plane almost a year ago. It was fascinating and I highly recommend it to anyone who has even a passing interest in mythology and folklore.
Current obsession: Art & fanfic (& AC Odyssey) as per usual 😂 Or two specific projects at least? I’ve never really been around children much in my life - all my cousins are about the same age as me and none have kids yet - but I’ve been working as a math tutor and have been around more kids the past six months than the rest of my life combined. And for some reason, that made me super interested in learning to draw kids and age progression, which worked well with my other two obsessions.
So I did a bunch of sketches of Kassandra (who else) at various stages of her life just for practice and while I’d like to finish and post them all eventually, I’m initially planning to post my favorite three sooner rather than later. I’d like to do Alexios too at some point, and already drew him as like an eleven year old for a study for my future second time travel fix it fic.
That fic is not my current obsession though. My current fic brain rot is my silly Alkibiades time loop fic idea where he keeps reliving the day that Phoibe and Perikles die and tries to save them. It’s just outline right now, with a few tiny snippets, but I just can’t stop thinking about it! Which kinda sucks, because I have so many other WIPs and also a fic that I started posting bc I thought I would be done with the last chapter by now so I could post it in two weeks. Guess what - I’m not 😬
Tagging @auroralykos and @aetosavros and anyone else who wants to do this!

I found one thing, I guess you may be interested in that, in japanese translation, in description of episode with Dax's story it was said in the end "Who are Dax's parents?" But only question this episode answers is "Who killed Dax's parents?". And we did saw only one of Dax's parents, not both... Thats weird thing. Also, in japanese translation, it said that " Six has 5 brothers including dead and alive".
Also interesting that even if monsuno had low budget, still no one had same launch animations, I mean really same, except 3 persons. Chase and Six are two ones here, and them cause Six is exacly Chase's clone. And there is third person - Dawnmaster. Also it was some kinda hint to Six's appearance, when Chase had vision when first met Droog, he met himself but red and holded hands with them. And so we didn't saw Dawnmaster's face, even skintone. Even his voice. That's weird. I mean, one of Six's special things that links him to Chase is that same launch. But Dawnmaster was before Six who did that. And some things weren't made to life, so this could be one of them.
If you don't feel good to answer, it's ok. Just wanted to share with you these theories, I think they're interesting
I guess Dax found both his parents and we never saw him bury his father since the episode was getting a little dark for a kid’s show.
As for Six having living brothers, I wish Monsuno had more seasons because Klipse made a ton of plot holes for the cast and most will never be answered.
I have been rewatching Monsuno to keep myself entertained while sick, and just watched Dawnmaster’s episodes. And you’re not wrong if you think Dawnmaster is another Klipse clone.
Dawnmaster’s color scheme is like those of Klipse even if he as a Core Tech core, he’s soft spoken, but sounds like he has a speech impediment, and he does have the same launch stance as Chase. Six has the Klipse coloration, is soft spoken and monotone at times, and due to being Chase’s clone has the same launch stance. They could be related, but we’ll never know.
The sad part of this theory is that Dawnmaster hasn’t been seen since season 1, and it’s really a shame because it would made a huge plot twist to show he is a clone and one of Six’s brothers. Like think of what it could have done to Six’s psyche and where the storyline would have gone if Dawnmaster had helped Six escape their father.
As for Six being foreshadowed in the episode with Droog, maybe it was just artistic choice since Chase was dealing with horrible visions and needed to reassure himself that everything was going to be alright, but it’d made a great foreshadowing since Six did help him and Lock become closer and lead Chase to save the world without killing off the Monsuno.

Cluedunnit: A Rewatch Podcast Of Silliness & Crime Solving
Some podcasts are one-trick ponies. Oh, so good at what they do, but what they do is one thing over and over and extremely well.
The podcast Cluedunnit is more like the Swiss army knife of podcasts. The podcast exists as an entertainment show, a TV show, a mystery show, a comedy, a whodunit, and an art critic show.
And all these moving parts work in sync to create a podcast that is eminently worthy of your ear time. The first episode -- about Psych -- aired in late August 2021 and the show has been building interest and listeners since then.
Here's the premise of Cluedunnit: "The gun rings out, the character drops to the floor – another mystery procedural has begun! TV sleuths have 60 minutes (at least!) to figure out whodunit. To Jacob Coakley and Jessica Hird, co-hosts of the Cluedunnit podcast, that seems like entirely too much time. On each episode of their comedy TV rewatch podcast Cluedunnit, they immediately guess the perp before there are any commercials – or clues."
From the Cluedunnit people, they define their show this way: "Each week we watch a show and immediately guess whodunit, without any clues, context, or — apparently — accuracy. Then we spoil everything. We not only tell you who did it but also who made it, with fascinating looks into the careers, lives, and trivia of the artists themselves. If it’s got a mystery, we watch it! Cozy mysteries (we see you Hallmark); police procedurals; private eyes and their fancy cars; TV classics from the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and today; comedy mysteries (Psych, anyone?), and lots more. We even go worldwide, with mysteries from Britain (home of Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes, they know a thing or two about mysteries), Australia, and more." Cluedunnit has guessed on TV case-of-the-week episodes from such different series as the hot new shows Poker Face and So Help Me, Todd, silly series like Psych and Monk, costume pieces like Frankie Drake Mysteries and Vienna Blood, noir thrillers like the ABC Murders, and Endeavour, cozy Hallmark mysteries like Murder, She Baked, all the way to classics like Murder, She Wrote and Magnum P.I. Jessica and Jacob love them all – including ones they haven’t heard of yet. “Every mystery starts a new game,” says co-host Jessica Hird. “Of all the various suspects, who do you bet on? Guy-With-A-Mustache? Lady Germaphobe? Or Sexy-Stranger-With-The-Menacing-Stare?”
“Mystery novels were originally called ‘The Grandest Game’ by mystery author John Dickson Carr,” adds Coakley. “He argued that a good detective story was a hoodwinking contest, a duel between author and reader. Well, in any duel it’s always best to shoot first. So we go off half-cocked, making the best guesses we can, as soon as we can. Of course, we’re very often hilariously, irredeemably wrong.” Each episode of Cluedunnit also includes compelling tidbits from the biographies of the creators and cast of the mysteries. And on top of that, this season includes mini-episode interviews with individual writers from the TV mystery shows covered on the podcast like Sara Saedi from iZombie and Tracy Friedman from Murder, She Wrote. These deep dives make watching the shows even more rewarding. I highly recommend the Saedi interview from March 8th.
Of course, you must be a TV show fan to enjoy the show. The hosts use the Roku Channel and other streaming services like Tubi as their "go-to" so that listeners can watch the show and the episode in which the whodunit occurs.
While the premise is wild and mildly neurotic, the co-hosts deliver an amuse bouche of comedy, knowledge, TV reviews, informative TV history, and a wildly over-caffeinated view of their mystery solving skills.
Jessica Hird has created and hosted multiple podcasts, including Grilled Cheese & Gin, a non-fiction podcast about changing careers and This F***ing Stucco House, a comedy fiction podcast following a woman searching for redemption after getting dumped on a famous house-hunting show. As an actor, she appeared in the 2001 Sundance hit and cult office comedy Haiku Tunnel as well as the award-winning stage show How To Be A Secret Agent Girl (SF Fringe “Best of the Fringe”). Jacob Coakley is a writer, screenwriter, podcaster, and playwright. His scripts have been recognized by the Austin Film Festival, Cinestory, Final Draft Big Break, and more. His plays have been developed at the Seven Devils Playwrights Conference and the Nevada Conservatory Theatre’s Homegrown Playwright’s Festival. He was editor-in-chief of Stage Directions magazine for 11 years and his writing has appeared in The Las Vegas Weekly, BLVDS Magazine, Desert Companion and others. The co-hosts mesh well together, like plump shrimp cocktail and tangy cocktail sauce. They're funny, bright, and adept at summarizing the often indecipherable plots, characters, and contrived universes of some of these TV shows. After all, how do you describe Haven or Grimm or even Psych?
“It is so much fun to uncover new shows for listeners, but it's the best to watch shows recommended by listeners,” says Hird. “And of course we want our listeners to guess along with us! We share what episode we’re watching and where you can view it, stream it, download it, whatever it takes.” “As a mystery consumer, you are free to make your whodunit guesses quietly to yourself. No one knows if you actually got it right or wrong, and it's fine either way,” says Coakley. “We just guess out loud so our ill-advised, half-baked stabs in the dark end up as your comedy.” Rest assured though, whoever you guess, each episode of Cluedunnit will tell you who was right, who was wrong, and who is dead. The nice thing about Cluedunnit is the journey to learn about these TV shows is just as rewarding as the destination, which is solving the mystery. I recommend you check out the podcast Cluedunnit. You get to listen, learn, laugh, lampoon, and link the clues together.
And, for the last time, it's not the butler. Or Colonel Mustard.

Noticed tonight how hesitant FCG was about healing or even just stabilizing the the verdict. Like, iirc they were totally, 100% fine with leaving the rival team to die. Gonna have to go back and rewatch later to see if I actually got a good read on it but. God FCG creeps me out in a way no other CR pc has and I’m so glad everyone seems to be noticing it now
I meaaaaan.... they might not have DIED died... just like. Died a little. ....
I like F.C.G, although I get what you mean. Its fair if this particular facet of F.C.G sets you on edge a bit, because... I THINK that's the point. Honestly, I've grown increasingly fond of F.C.G the more we learn about them, and the clearer the divide between the cheerful demeanor and the underlying morals of their actions become. Previously I was a little hesitant about it, but now that I know the vibes are intentional, things open up a lot more. The vibes being: Absolutely terrifying and slightly terrible in a well intentioned, uninformed way. Which is both wonderful to dig into, and extremely true to life.
(this got a little lengthy, throwing it under a read-more. Rampant speculations and assumptions abound below)
I talked about it a little here, and the more I've contemplated it, the more I really like my comparison of an AI attempting to apply an overly specific model to increasingly nuanced situations. F.C.G means well. I absolutely believe that. The casual cruelties, and moral gaps we're seeing more and more come down to things like:
inflexible definitions- of humanity, of empathy, of people who deserve better and people who aren't worth it. "Well, I'm not soul touched, but you all are-" The whole situation with the drunkard early on. Horses having less of a soul than people. The definitions set the rules, and everything outside of that doesn't matter.
very specific rules or solutions applied to situations that they don't fit on- attempting to give couples therapy to two random strangers, asking ritual questions and providing canned lines as comfort to people who aren't asking for it. Even the mind delve from this last episode- is almost like some kind of fucked up diagnostic, I guess.
And then, as a result, some of the more jarring behavior just feels like prioritization, with very specific models and rules in mind. The Verdict are less important than the Bells, so its not really as much of a concern if they die (even if it, clinically, would be a shame). If F.C.G's priority is to keep the Bells as a whole safe, tricking Imogen to dive into her mind is a fine concession. Imogen’s wellbeing, even, probably takes a higher priority over their relationship, or even Imogen’s desire to... not have her mind invaded.
And, I've been making a ton of comparisons to AI's, but honestly, its a very real-to-life comparison too. It's every inexperienced person who learned something new and then attempted to overapply the concept to everything in their life. It's why the comparisons to "college freshman who took 1 semester of psych and is way too confident with it" make sense. It's the way someone with a very specific life experience will explore something new and run into problems when their experiences and judgements no longer translate correctly. It is why someone with a great deal of confidence in something they only have a surface understanding of can stir up problems even with pure intentions.
It is not often malicious, but it can be extremely harmful.
But back to F.C.G specifically: I think F.C.G is supposed to make you feel a little uneasy, for what its worth, at least in this context.
And it IS possible Sam is planning to go a "silently evil and plotting murderbot" route, but I'm hoping for something closer to *points above*, if only because. I dunno. I find that more compelling. Plus he's a cute lil robit who loves his friends awww lookit :'D
#and this doesn't even touch on whether fcg has a killswitch HE doesnt know about. but I was trying to stay on this specific subject#critical role#cr spoilers#c3e21#fcg#character meta#fcg meta#speculation#spar speaks#ask away!#my meta#I dont want to be TOO mean to fcg here bc while like. yes. theyre a lil terrible I do mean that with affection. the whole party is kind of.#you know. mildly to moderately amoral. I think the dichotomy is what is really throwing people here. which I enjoy! but you know.#be nice to the robit.#that said I do NOT think what fcg did is the same as what imogen does but I think thats a separate thought and im not necessarily /angry/#at fcg for it because like. I dont think they fully processed what was wrong with it for *waves at above post*. still terrible though

Yay!!! Ok can I request some yandere amnesia hcs for ikki ❤️
For this I rewatched his moments from anime and relistened his songs. Hope, it`s still more or less sound canonical (/// ̄ ̄///) P.S. I made picture special for him!
Where to start, probably, with the character of Ikki. He is known as a frivolous womanizer, but we know that deep inside this is not so. He is interested in solving math puzzles, board games, music. He is good at everything where hands may be required, that is, everything. Just at one point in his life, a miracle happened that Ikki himself does not consider as such. Be that as it may, since girls began to fall in love with him from a single wave of eyelashes-.. it would be strange not to start enjoying everyone's attention, since the chance fell.
It had been like this before, but now Ikki began to question his wish. He began to doubt that he could be truly loved. He was sure that all the emotions that girls feel for him were false. Besides, he even knows where they came from. Therefore, it seems to me that this fact slightly, but shook his psyche. Another case that also hammered a nail into the coffin of his self-esteem was the actions of the fan club, when the girls broke up with him after three months. Did he have reason to believe that his charms only lasted for a limited amount of time? More than that.
In the light of these events you appeared. You, who turned up your nose from him at the beginning. You, who were not affected by the power of his eyes. Ikki couldn't help but be interested, though maybe he just couldn't believe what was happening. Is it possible.. his abilities have malfunctioned? Is it possible.. after years the higher powers finally decided to take pity on him?
Yandere Mod begins when Ikki goes from denial to acceptance and then fear. Fear that everything will end soon, that the spell will begin to act on you. Although sometimes he caught himself thinking that this time he would not mind. However, this did not last long. In the next second, he realized that then everything would return to the beginning, and the only chance in life would pass him by.
He had already guessed that his fans were not the most peaceful in the world, but who would have thought that this time their behavior would became trump card into his hands. The young man was waiting for the right moment to appear and, like a prince on a white horse, save you. Perhaps if the situation were calmer, you yourself would understand how feigned it looks, but when you are surrounded by several people with not the best intentions, small details like a satisfied smile do not attract attention like a noble gesture of help.
You, from your part, could not understand what was happening with the girls, as soon as they saw your colleague at work. Yes, he was handsome, charming, charismatic. You could not deny this, but nevertheless, in your opinion, this was not a sufficient reason for every lady to lose the head of him. In any case, it did not concern you, or so you thought until a certain time. Until this most charming colleague began to pay attention to you, along the way causing envy in the rest of his fans. You didn’t need such happiness, you didn’t get a job for this, so you tried to politely, but clearly express your position, namely, to show that you were not at all interested in him.
To your surprise, Ikki turned out to be a gentleman who did not force his feelings on you. He calmly backed off, promising that he would not cause you any inconvenience. This added to him points of sympathy on your part, making your attitude towards him more favorable. You even become friends, although you still felt hesitant to communicate with the guy you turned down. However, Ikki showed with all his appearance that this did not bother him at all, which means that you should not either.
You guessed that his fans would not like that some leftist girl was spinning around their an idol, whom this idol more than just favors. You just didn't think they'd show their dislike so quickly.
It all started innocently, with letters of warning. There was nothing in them other than a request to leave Ikki alone. However, this fact quickly changed, and you began to find rotten eggs in your mailbox, your own jagged photos and more, much more then that. It was very unnerving. When they somehow expressed everything they think about you to your face, you began to be afraid. Fear for yourself and your safety.
You would be mad at the cause of everything, Ikki, but he was always there to help you. You personally heard him tell some girls to leave you alone. It was not his fault that they did not heed his words. Not his. You felt safe with him. They never attacked while you were together. However, you couldn't deny how suspiciously your intuition screamed for escape as soon as he appeared next to you. It felt so paradoxical that it drove you crazy.
You would be grateful for his support if he wasn't the only one you could turn to for help.
