My Nyko Type Pad for PS4 (w/ my Paper Dolls) - Part 1 [2/4/2020]
First thing first, my apologize for the long delay, I haven’t chance to shown ya - in which I was supposed to reveal it last Sunday but never chance.
Nevertheless, here it is! I bought this Nyko Type Pad QWERTY wireless keyboard accessory for the PS4′s DualShock 4 controller for about ₱1,495; but since I used my Datablitz Gift Cert. (from my big bro) with additional cash of my own it slashed price of ₱100, so now it’s a ₱1,395. It’s a good deal and now I have ₱105 left just to get eat some Ramen noodle, which you can [CLICK ME] to see my photos at Ayala Malls Cloverleaf.
With that being said, I was supposed to buy my own game - namely another racing game but I want ‘very authentic real life simulator’ (well aside from GT Sport but what else). Sadly I’d just don’t feel like it now because I realized that some required a PS Plus and some don’t but still… So I decided to pick up this cool qwerty keyboard instead, after all I REALLY need to browse on youtube and watch their videos, typing a website I prefer, searching stuff via google, etc…
BTW #1: Much like I did to my post [CLICK ME], some of my photos are now combined by using my GIMP despite I have a total of 15 photos.
So without further a do here’s my walk-through of my Nyko Type Pad (for PS4):
1st & 2nd Images: •Here’s the box itself looks pretty neat - plus there’s a Nyko’s seal of quality sticker on the lower right side for a very authentic item (just in cased, but although you can’t seal because of the flash). When you look at the other side there are some features about this Type Pad that you want to read it for yourself by zooming in. Features like built-in rechargeable battery through DualShock 4 could be very helpful but will it be true if another part comes out soon. Reactions to my paper dolls are positive. 😊
3rd to 5th Images: •My paper dolls wandering what’s inside when I out of the box; well here you can see the Type Pad item itself, a micro USB cable, a warranty paper and a big instruction manual folding in rather than paging style book. I would also note that there’s a slightly crumbled damage and a little ripped on the instruction manual, so my apologize for a awful presentation. Despite I put it back and out a few times now, I’d just want to test it out immediately just to impress to my siblings before I made this newly topic. ^^;
6th to 8th Images: • So moving on, here’s the actual main item itself.
- The front of the qwerty keyboards are using rubber material, I was expecting that could be hardened plastic material much like existing keyboards or any other brands of PS4 type pad but I guess this is ok, after all it advertise for a ‘glow in the dark keys improve visibility’. But will it glow in the dark or not so will see. And did I mentioned that there’s a mini directional stick located on the upper right of the Type Pad was really nice added
- Side to side and upper front you see the 3.5 mm male jack and a EXT jack both enabled audio and recharging the DualShock 4 controller (once it fit in to my controller in the next part).
- Down part was the built-in speaker and other the other are the (from left to right) power switch, a Bluetooth sync button, 3.5mm female audio jack, a micro usb port (for charging the Type Pad and a indicator hole light. BTW #2: I forgot to switch off the Type Pad, my bad. ^^;
9th & 10th Images: • Now the papers inside and the box itself are out of the way, I’m gonna used the main item and the micro usb cable for charging. And speaking of I have now plenty of micro USB cables from different kinds of gadgets in the inclusion throughout my years so don’t asked. ^^; My paper dolls can’t wait to see with my (Blue Wave) DualShock 4 fits in my Type Pad, so....
That’s it for now, more on that part coming soon.😉

Nnnnnnngggghhhh it’s part 2 of Mellz plays KH2 on the PS2!
It’s been a while since I got around to working on this part but since we’re all in quarantine I thought I’d catch up on my commentary.
If this is your first time tuning in, why not check out part 1 before reading?? In there you’ll also find links to my commentary of KH1 and Re:CoM on the PS2
On that note, let’s continue shall we?
To recap. We lost some pics, we found some pics, Seifer is a bitch. We did odd jobs and fought bees, we got robbed at stick point. Roxas keeps having dreams that act as exposition dumps for anyone who hasn’t played KH1. Roxas met Namine and he followed her to the mansion but got lost on the way there and wrong warped to the Station of Serenity via sandlot. Oh, we fought this game’s version of the Darkside Heartless but this time it’s a wormy, white Nobody. I really, really hate it! Hayner thinks Roxas loves Seifer more than him because it’s the epitome of “it’s not what it looks like”. Today, we Struggle to rekindle our friendship.
The next morning? Afternoon? EVENING? Nobody knows because it’s always the same time of day from morning until night and from night until morning! The Struggle tournament is about to begin. Tensions still seem on the rise before the preliminaries start, Hayner has very little to say to Roxas at this time. I’m not ready at this point so I decide to delay the fight and talk the townspeople and fight Seifer once again for old time’s sake. Our combatants are relayed the rules and the first round is between Roxas and his best friend, Hayner. Both the boys are a little somber as the countdown starts. Roxas is still feeling guilty about yesterday, but Hayner doesn’t care. He’s not angry at Roxas, he’s been so quiet because he’s so concentrated on the tournament!
Battle ensues.
I win because that’s the only way to progress. Roxas and Hayner make up and be all cute again. The next fight is between Seifer and Vivi.
Rose: “This is like... any person fighting Yoda”
……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..
Seifer got MESSED UP!
His pride after this was so squashed he DROPPED OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT, leaving Hayer in line for 3rd place. Seifer was willing to throw away a place in top 3 because he lost to blue Yoda.
I like how Roxas is ready to fucking pummel Vivi here AFTER time runs out. No mercy.
…oh my gosh it turns out this Vivi was a Dusk Nobody all along who could have seen that coming...?
*gasp* It’s HIM
My favorite bastard!
Axel: “Talk about blank with a capital ‘B’...”
Rose: “Talk about BITCH with a capital ‘B’!”
I love Axel to death in case you haven’t guessed that yet but that doesn’t mean I don’t ever drag him. He moves like a goddamn weasel. He’s as skinny as one too.
I win the fight because I’m the protagonist, and then DiZ shows his pretty face for the first time to our boy. Axel knows who he is? I’m guessing from Castle Oblivion? Unless there’s some Days stuff I’m not remembering. Things get weird again, DiZ and Axel call out Roxas’s name and their voices warp all funky and I remember getting secondhand embarrassment every time I watched this scene when I was younger!
Roxas has a mild freak out and calls out for his friends, poor thing. This seems to make everything normal. What passes for normal around here, sure... and the real Vivi falls face first onto the arena and has no recollection of ever participating. He didn’t. A Dusk just unceremoniously dumps his unconscious body off in the middle of a tournament. We then snag first place, but to add one more rank, as reigning champion, Roxas has to win against this Crispin Freeman motherfucker, obtain a special belt, and bragging rights for a whole-ass year.
My strategy? As long as I have more orbs than my opponent I win so I just hit Setzer once and run around the stage until time’s up. Not that I can’t fairly win against him. Is this the only time we get to fight Setzer? Seems kind of a waste to make a model and moveset if he’s got such a miniscule role.
We actually CAN fail this and still progress but I’m not a quitter. I’m gonna get Roxas that belt. So I did. The Twilight Town gang are once again sitting atop the clock tower, revel in Roxas’s victory, and each kid gets one of the crystals fixed to the trophy. ICE CREAM TIME! But Roxas is an idiot, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree now does it? stands up in like, 2 frames, and slips off the clock tower to his death. Rest in pieces.
This scene ends and we see a young lady walking alone after school. It’s Kairi! This is my favorite version of her. So she and Selphie start talking about Riku, the island they used to go to all the time, and another boy nobody remembers.
IDK how this telepathy works, while Roxas is still falling in slow-motion there’s a three way conversation between him, Kairi, and Sora himself chimes in a bit. Roxas mistakes Kairi for Namine, Kairi corrects him, “you’re that girl he likes” he says, Kairi desperately asks for a name, Roxas tells her HIS OWN name, NO NO you dolt Kairi wants this other guy’s name, see this is how wingmanning works. Sora’s all like “gee thanks for remembering me. I’ll give you a hint”.
Kairi gently pollutes the ocean with a message in a bottle, somehow the bottle heads out towards the great unknown despite the tide coming IN? I would think the bottle would kinda just... float in one spot for a bit? Or at least back to shore.
Next we’re back in the computer room with DiZ and this black clad man, who we finally get to learn is Ansem. But uh... He ain’t tho.
……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..
My least favorite part of Roxas’s part is coming up... OK OK OK so falling from great heights during battle is perfectly safe but falling off the clock tower could kill Roxas? Seems legit.
A’ight Olette is really cracking down on the summer homework and uh. They got no topic for their independent studies yet. This was me during most of my highschool career. Roxas suggests the weird stuff happening around HIM, because the world revolves around him (little does he know...) and Hayner shoots that idea down IMMEDIATELY. Turns out, they’re gonna search the town tomorrow for answers, the whole town’s gonna help out. How sweet! Roxas’s reaction here is so pure.
Wait so Roxas has been telling his friends about the dreams he’s been having? I would have liked to see that! Like, their reactions to them.
I went to check out the dart board and Rose starts laughing and says she read “examine” like how Namine is pronounced. Anyway, what is the gnag gonna study? The Seven Wonders of Twilight Town. *yaawwn*
……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..……..
Oof, another example of “couldn’t care less” being misspoken as “could care less”. If you COULD care less that implies you already DO care. IT’S “COULDN’T CARE LESS”, RAIJIIN!!!
*fights Seifer one last time for good measure*
“The time has come! Our hunt for the Seven Wonders begins!” Pence is such a dork. I love him.
KNOW WHAT WOULD BE AN INTERESTING WONDER? IF THESE STAIRS ACTUALLY DID COUNT DIFFERENTLY UP AND DOWN BUT NO RAIJIIN IS JUST A DUNCE!
The Wall. These legitimate answers are lame as hell. Oh someone must have been throwing a ball oh but we know the truth.
The next “mystery” are voices in the access tunnels. It’s Vivi! But no, it’s probably not considering our track record. Now there’s 3. OH NO THEY KEEP MULTIPLYING! The real Vivi arrives and lets Roxas borrow his struggle bat so he can practice fighting by himself but oh wait... That was also a Dusk. These guys just... really don’t know when to quit. Aaaand this is where we stop for now. My capture card stopped recording. Or maybe it was just my imagination. Yes that’s right. I’m recoding this with COMMENTARY! I’m putting all my favorite parts into a compilation. Hopefully I’ll get those up on my channel soon.
Ta-ta for now! The sooner I finish this game the sooner I can move on to the remasters on PS4!

(purupurupuru) (purupurupuru) (click!) (coo!) (coo!)
Happy! Happy! Happy Monday, minna-san! I hope everyone had a good weekend. As for us, we had such a blast! We celebrated anniversary at the tower where they held the pirates festival and held talk shows for upcoming stuff! We have so much to tell, but we’ll keep it short. Just a reminder, tomorrow, the crew and I are headed to Osaka for our trip to USJ to watch the OP premiere show and eat at Sanji’s restaurant. Look forward to our pics on our Twitter or FB club page. First off, this week’s chapter is getting even intense. Big Mom is in her sugar rage mode, and she’s not stopping until she gets her piece of cake. Strussen is down for the count so the island is still gonna face her rage without caring who she hurts. However, Pudding offers the help to her siblings that she can still make a cake same way and taste. At the end, as the gang dashes off with the help of King Baum who was flirting with a female tree, that player, they get chased by the foot soldiers, and suddenly, look who’s riding above them! AH! Big Mom is too damn close and ready to kill them. How are the gang gonna fend her off? Guess we’ll see next week. Reminder that there is no chapter this week so it’s another week wait. Be patient. Oda-sensei needs his rest too. Moving, this past weekend’s episode was colossal! Luffy faces off with one of 3 sweet commanders, Cracker. The man really doesn’t back down as he reveals his ability to multiply his arms and that’s 4 times the trouble with Luffy. Meanwhile, Nami has her trump card of Lola’s vivre card that delays the critters from attacking her. Will it last? Next week, Luffy gets his fighting face on for round 2. Now on with the news and goods! Figurines! Figurines! Figurines! Loads of upcoming new ones! First off, starting this Friday, hobby stores and online will be taking orders for this new POP B.B. figurine of Hancock in her copper bikini. It will be released in December. Next, this past weekend, the Shounen Jump exhibition has released many loads of upcoming new figurines like Glitter and Glamour, POP, Figure Arts Zero, King of Artists, Creator x Creator, and Super Master Star Brush including new Ichiban Kuji prizes. Many of them will be released from now till early fall season. Be on the lookout for upcoming news of it. Moving on, on Aug.10th, arcades will be stocking this new figurine of Zoro in his battle mode. You got what it takes to win? Get your coins and beat the claw! Moreover, another POP figurine of Luffy in kabuki version has been released. It’s in black color to commemorate the second kabuki show of OP. Hobby stores and Mugiwara Stores will take in reservations from October 6th to November 27th. It will be released on February 2018. Lastly, Ichiban Kuji online have 2 new color versions of OP colorspread figurine carriage of Luffy and the others. You can also choose from dark red or blue color carriage. We’ll leave a link for it. Next, the app game, Thousand Storm is having an event campaign. Win levels and you get a special prize image of the 20th anniversary blue color spread of the gang. Next, loads of new items for your shoppers! First, any of you like hats? New Era will be selling these new caps of Luffy, Law, and Marine. They have other OP hat characters as well. If you like to purchase, we’ll leave a link for info. If you live overseas, have a friend who live in Japan help you with purchase and shipping. Next, C4LA has collaborated with OP and has started selling these two new stylish hats of Luffy and Ace. It will come with a button of their jolly rogers. Next, more new Line stickers, and this time, it’s 20th anniversary manga style stickers. To commemorate this, Oda-san, drew the Line mascots, Cony and Brown, with Luffy having Brown’s expression. It’s adorable. Anyway, these next two weeks, Line will be releasing new stickers of OP. Also, the pic app, SNOW, will also have some OP face pics to celebrate the anniversary. If you don’t have it on your smartphone, you can download it from the app store. Be quick, it only lasts in the next two weeks. Moving on, here are the new CD covers of the OP Island Song collection. The first eight will be Luffy, Coby, Zoro, Buggy, Ussop, Sanji, Nami, and Tashigi and Smoker. They will be released on Sept.27th. Last but not least, the OP games of PS4 and Nintendo DS will have a discount on these games from now till Aug.2nd. Be sure to purchase them quickly before time runs out. At the talk show from Saturday, many cool stuff have been announced. They have shown the third vol. of OP magazine, and it’s in blue color. They only announced that it will have a third long interview with Oda-san. Other stuff will be released later on. However, in the second vol. they mentioned that it will have a part 2 of Ace’s story of his crew and flare-flare fruit, and many cool stuff. Second vol. will be released on Aug.4th just as vol.86 of Whole Cake Is. will be released. PHEW! I think we covered everything. Well, that’s all we got, amigos! We’ll take many pics of our trip this week so everyone can see what we done. Tune in next week for more news, goods, and plenty of other events. Thanks for the hard work, boys. Sort of a Switch Review
Ok ok I promised an un boxing YouTube vid, but things didn't end up how I hoped. The house was too loud, not good enough lighting, and I lose my phone stand to record myself haha. Moving on! The Nintendo Switch.... am I the only one who thinks it's fucking amazing? First of all, STOP TRYING TO COMPARE IT WITH A PS4 or XBOX 1 DAMN IT! It is not meant to compete with those types of consoles in that way, Nintendo consoles were never meant to be a replacement to your PS4. So stop thinking that way now. That's why I love Nintendo, "Sure, keep your mighty gaming console. Buuuuut you should also get ours cause you're gonna have a lot of fun using it." That is what Nintendo does with their consoles, and it is what they did with this one :) It is meant to be durable, so all hail the plastic! It's very hard plastic so do not fret. Though a screen protector is highly (you should get it) recommended. And the controllers have that satisfying click sound only the Switch can make. The transition from handheld mode to tv is very seamless, maybe with a one second delay but that's normal. I guess it depends on your tv? Don't know, haven't tried it. But the thing is so freaking portable!! Like heck yeah, play all you want in handheld mode, it uses a type-c charging USB cable. And when going to your grandparents or something, the dock is super light weight and doesn't take up a lot of space. All you need other than that is an HDMI cable, where there are plenty of. Battery life is great but Nintendo is right on the money with this, it all depends on the game you play. Breath of the wild last about 3 hours, 2.45 if there's a lot happening like, idk a big boss battle 🍗 But you won't even notice it. The resolution is the same as the WiiU so yeah. Deal with it. I have no complaints so far, only with the people comparing it to the big home consoles. That's just stupid. It's Nintendo, they're genuinely out to make you laugh and have fun. And take your money along the way. It is worth getting. For some maybe not now since not a lot of games at launch but soon there will be. Very soon. So go out there and get it!

Review: Night In The Woods (PC/PS4)
There’s so many games out there these days, that it’s hard to keep track of them all, but I try my best. I do vaguely remember having seen something about Night In The Woods a few years ago, but clearly it didn’t seem to get me to track it from there. I then 2 years ago, stumbled upon it in an indie game exhibition at Seattle’s EMP Museum. I had a quick play (I was in a bit of a rush as we were flying out a few hours later), and was impressed by it’s slickness, to the point that I just assumed it must have already been out. It wasn’t already out, so it remained only vaguely in the back of my mind. It was only when a friend mentioned the game a few times, that I started to take notice of it more. And then in the past 2 months, I got surprisingly hyped about the release of the game, counting down the days until it would pop up on Steam.
Night In The Woods was kickstarted 3 years ago by a small indie team, receiving over 4 times it’s original $50,000 funding request. They could have kept adding features as stretch goals to get even more backers, but they wisely saw this as scope creep (something I wish the developers of Star Citizen would take note of). After a few delays, it’s finally out. So what’s it like?
Well if you aren’t into hipster aesthetics, you could easily be put off by the art style. I think this is part of what put me off from buying in early to this game when I first heard about it. But don’t let it put you off. The art style is a really flat, almost children’s book like. But this definitely ain’t not kid’s game. It’s about young adult life, a coming of age story about young people trying to figure out what to do with their life, when it seems like there’s limited options. It reminded me a lot of South Park Stick of Truth. It feels like you are playing a real live animation.
The protagonist, is Mae, who’s dropped out of college and returned to her small home town to live with her parents. As what happens with most people who return to their home towns, a lot is the same, but a lot has changed. Her friends are all working dead end jobs. The local coal mine has been closed down, which has hit the local economy badly, with less money and jobs around, causing people and businesses to leave the town. The game is in many ways a modern life simulator of what happens to a town like this once society moves on from dated industries like coal mining.
But it’s not all mundane, day to day life going ons. There is something weird going on in the town, and in-between dealing with friends and feelings, you will find yourself trying to figure out this hidden mystery. There’s also some very abstract dream sequences. It makes for an interesting contrast.
The game is a very heavily narrative driven adventure. Most of what you will be doing is just talking to people around the town. There is a lot of talking to go through if you engage with all the characters in the town, so keep that in mind when choosing whether this game is for you. This is however broken up with some exploring, mini games and platforming.
The exploring is somewhat limited, but there definitely is some hidden components you could miss if you don’t snoop around. The mini games are basic, but really help break the game up a bit and give it variety. The guitar hero style mini game in particular is enjoyable, even though I don’t think there’s any way to be good at it. It could easily be separated as a stand alone mini game. The platforming can be fiddly and frustrating in parts. In particular there’s a platforming section near the start that is supposed to teach you to triple jump. I got stuck on this for about 10 minutes to the point of almost rage quitting. Perhaps you don’t suck as much I do, but if you do, keep at it, because I didn’t really come across anything as frustrating as that afterwards. It was pretty smooth sailing from there on. The game works well with a controller (especially for the force feedback scenes).
The general gameplay loop is waking up each day, going into town, and choosing a friend to hang out with at night. At first impressions, it probably seems like quite a linear game, and I guess the main story line is linear, however it’s the choices you make like which friend to hang out with, which makes playthroughs somewhat unique and giving it a level of replayability to it. Choosing to hang out with one character at night, means you’re missing out on hanging out with another character, therefore you’ve not seen that scene during your playthrough. This became apparent when I realised I had not seen the iconic “Donut Wolf” during my playthrough. Also you have a journal which you add scribblings into. When you see blank pages, it makes you wonder what you missed. While it can frustrate a completionist that wants to see everything in their playthrough, it does mean you could do at least a second playthrough, and see some new things you didn’t experience the first time. This is a good feature to have with narrative games. It can be even extended further, as there is a full rouge like game called Demon Tower that you can play on Mae’s computer.
As you have probably noticed from the screen shots, all the characters are andromorphic animals. I’ve since seen human versions of the characters done up as fan art, and it’s interesting seeing these interpretations, because the characters, despite being animals, do come across much more human than most human game characters. All of the characters are strong, with some of the most authentic dialogue I’ve seen in a game in a long time. I became quite attached to the characters and the town, much more so than I did with Oxenfree (which I only recently got around to playing through). The characters are very much defined already. You are playing the character of Mae, not yourself. Mae is a bit of a jerk. Often in dialogue choices you have the option of being a jerk, or being a jerk in a different way. This ensures you can’t taint the character by trying to make them a better person. Mae has her traits, and you will be going on that journey with her. Much like Costume Quest, if there was one thing missing, I’d say it’s voice acting, but it’s understandable that there’s none considering it’s budget.
While as mentioned, it could be seen as having hipster elements, the game is in fact quite grunge. So much so that I could just imagine Gary Numan’s ‘Down In The Park’ playing in background (the game actually has a great original soundtrack). It’s got goths and punks. There’s stealing and knife fights. One of the most challenging things media can attempt to do is make bands and music culture cool within it’s content. Night In The Woods pulls it off authentically.
Overall this game is not for everyone, but for those whom it is, it’s an awesome little unique game. I say little because I originally expected it to be about 5 hours long. I was surprised to find my playthrough was around 13-14 hours. Granted I am a slow player, who likes to check every nook and cranny while talking to anyone whose mouth moves. But for those whom equate a games value with it’s length (not me), I think you could find you’d get at least 8 hours of gameplay out of it, not including if you did additional playthroughs or tried to complete Demon Tower. This is great value for a game released for $20USD. As I said though, this game ain’t gonna be for everyone, COD kids need not apply. If you are unsure about it, there’s two free supplementary games you can download here: https://finji.itch.io/ . The Longest Night is reminiscent of a mini game from Night In The Woods, while Lost Constellation is more like a full game, that will give a good feel for what the gameplay of Night In The Woods is like. Between playing these, you’ll get a sense of whether Night In The Woods is your jam.
2017 is going to be a huge year for adventure games, and Night In The Woods starts the year off strong with a potential Game of The Year candidate. I look forward to seeing what it’s developer, Infinite Fall do next.
