What if Sirius's favorite color was green when he was little?

He had decorated his room in Slytherin merch, given to him by Bella, Andy and Cissa, his green crayons were always the shortest, half of his clothes were green.

And then he met James and decided his favorite colors were green and red, because James's favorite color was red.

When the sorting hat said Gryffindor, he vowed to always love green, as a tribute to his family.

As time passed, he started appreciating red more, but green still had a special place in his heart. Green was the color of the buds on the trees, green was the leaves, green was the qudditch pitch beneath his feet, green was the color of Remus's eyes, green was the color of nature, green was the color of peace.

After he watched his family burn him off the tapestry, he could never look at green the same way again. Green became a constant reminder of his failure as a son, green was the color Regulus wore proudly, as the new heir, green was the family hate.

His favorite color became red.

My hogwarts house headcanons for the tbosas tributes :)

To start us off I am going to say the one I feel the most strongly about, but am sure people might disagree with. Reaper - Hufflepuff. Reaper shows the main traits of hufflepuff in my opinion. Loyalty, dedication, and kindness. Yes one might say he would be in gryffindor for his bravery or slytherin for ambition. But I feel as though Reaper is a hufflepuff. He is fiercely loyal to Dill, and dedicates his life to protecting her. He also shows kindness to the other tributes by giving them a makeshift funeral in the arena, and I feel like his alliance with Lamina in the books was kind. Also the Hufflepuff crest is a honey badger, and Reaper was the scariest tribute and badgers are scary as hell when they are in fight mode.

Coral - Slytherin. I swear I am not saying this because slytherins are perceived as the “bad guys”, I just genuinely believe Coral is a slytherin. She is very determined throughout the entirety of her time in the arena and is very ambitious. She is also very cunning when it comes to being in the pack, specially her relationship with Tanner.

Lamina - Gryffindor. Lamina is one of if not the bravest tribute in my personal opinion. She reminds me of Neville Longbottom in the sense that everyone underestimated her, and saw her  as a weak child. Then ended up landing the first kill in the book, even though it was mercy. Even when the pack goes after her she remains courageous and fights for her life. Book Treech - Ravenclaw. Treech, even though he is a coward, he is very smart. In the books he waited until there were less tributes until he decided to attack too. I feel like he shows the correct intelligence and wit that a racenclaw would. His actions were well thought out (I assume), and he seemed to be very careful.

Movie Treech - Slytherin. I was originally just going to put Treech in Ravenclaw, but when I thought about the differences between him in the movies and the books I had to put movie Treech in slytherin. This one is due to his self preservation and how easily he left Lamina. He was also cunning much like Coral, but still a coward.

Remember these are my personal opinions and you are aloud to disagree. Just not with Reaper. If you disagree with Reapers then I don’t want to hear about it. I do plan on sorting the rest of the tributes. I’ve just had this sitting in my drafts for weeks, waiting to be posted. Also I’m a Hufflepuff in case you had wanted to know. @americqnheartss @crazycriter

persephone- hufflepuff, i think she’s very loyal, kind, & patient

festus- gryffindor, he’s a lil impulsive but brave (sort of projected a james potter type personality accidentally)

livia- slytherin, i see her as ambitious and resourceful or ravenclaw, bc i also think she’s witty and creative

vipsania- slytherin, very ambitious and cunning

felix- ravenclaw, idk he’s just giving those vibes

honestly didn’t even have to think about this one. festus just feels like gryffindor.

she has ambition, connections, self-preservation, pretty motivated by competition and doing better than people she doesn’t like and cunning when she wants to be

she’s really competitive and driven. also i can’t explain it, but she kinda has quidditch keeper vibes.

felix ravinstill - ravenclaw

he tried for slytherin- he really did! (that’s a lie, he didn’t try that hard.) i’d say it was a bit of a toss-up between the two, and felix was fairly ambivalent since both were respectable enough- and that sealed it for ravenclaw.

ambition. ambition for ages. the sorting hat didn’t even have to think about it.

clemensia dovecote - slytherin

ambition as well, but to a much less harmful degree than coriolanus. ravenclaw was probably floated as a potential house, but not long enough to cause a hat stall. unrelated to the sorting, but if we’re going with hp events as well, was likely the one to figure out the basilisk then got petrified before she could tell anyone.

sejanus plinth - gryffindor

he’s a hufflepuff in my heart, but he’d most likely be sorted into gryffindor. 

urban canville - hufflepuff

i would have said ravenclaw, except urban kinda gives zacharias smith (re: would urban push first years out of the way to escape the battle of hogwarts? probably.) so… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

arachne crane - slytherin

she was nearly a hat stall because the hat tried putting her in gryffindor. she adamantly refused until the hat gave in. it sorts, but students do get choice.

io jasper - ravenclaw

incredibly smart, but she’s most skilled at science-related classes. everyday, she thanks the founders that urban wasn’t placed in the same house as her. it’s bad enough that hufflepuffs and ravenclaws often have classes together.

lysistrata vickers - gryffindor

i could see an argument for hufflepuff, but she feels outspoken enough to tip the scales into gryffindor when considering the two.

I know that so far in this fic I’ve been paying waaaaay more attention to Aesop, but Sebastian is also a part of the pairing there, and so I came to pay my tributes to him as well. And @medaris with her amazing ai pics generation (and further editing) skills once again came to my rescue! Here are some generations for another piece of VT fanfic, the one that I tbh like quite a lot 🥰 *and daffodils are my favorite flowers, busted*

I really like the vibe Sebastian is giving here, and can literally feel the scent of rain and daffodils ☺️ Aaand of course, here’s another piece from the latest chapter (yes it happened to be quite eventful)

Footsteps sounded from the entrance to the hospital wing. A dishevelled and wet Sebastian flew into the doorway, looking around the room with a frantic stare. Droplets dripped from his robe and soaked curls onto the sickeningly polished floor of the infirmary. In his hand, also covered in large glistening drops, white with sharp petals around bright yellow cores, were daffodils. When his eyes found Nancy, he started joyfully towards her, but, noticing Miss Montgomery, he froze, shifting his eyes from mother to daughter in confusion. Madam Blainey looked out of her office and instantly groaned, showering the negligent Slytherin with indignant remarks.

“Mr. Sallow, this is a hospital wing, not a back room, to come in here like this!” The nurse chirped, while Nancy's mum took a quick glance at the boy and pulled out her wand, wiping away all the excess moisture from the floor and drying his robes in one swipe.

“It's alright, Madam Blainey, please don't worry, I've got this," Miss Montgomery got up from the bed, walked over to Sebastian, and held out her hand to him, squinting at the daffodils with a smile. “I'm Nancy's mum, and I believe you're her… friend?”

The Gryffindor almost burst laughing into her fist as she watched the confused Sallow awkwardly shake Montgomery Senior's hand and babble something about how he hadn't meant to intrude and was just walking past on his own. The witch threw another sly glance at her daughter, tossed her hair back again, and tapping her heels on the floor, said she needed to have a word with Professor Weasley. Sebastian gave her a glance and walked over to Nancy, grinning.

A subtle, faint scent of daffodils was floating around the room.

This is going to be long. I do not apologize.

GRIFFINDORS: KATNISS/FINNICK/MRS EVERDEEN/HAYMITCH (?)

I'm starting with this because they're easy to spot. Their trademarks are bravery and chivalry. Chivalry is not a common word nowadays, but ultimately it throws us back to this notion of honor, of giving your life to someone or something (think knights devoted to their kings).

Griffindors are brave, but they have something (someone) that moves them to be brave. Katniss is the obvious example, laying out her life for Prim in the first book, for Peeta in the second. This is her most dominant trait. One thing I realized was griffindors all grief quite similar to each other. When Katniss thought she lost Peeta, and later when she lost Prim she shut down almost completely, like a light turning off inside of her. Why? Because her reason (Prim/Peeta) to be brave was gone. You see the same pattern in Finnick. He's a brave man, above all, who won the games while only 14, and was submitted to atrocious things and he endured it all for love. When his reason for being brave was gone, (while Annie was being held by the Capitol) he almost loses it. Many of you might disagree but I feel like Mrs Everdeen is one too. She was very brave to leave her life on the merchant quarter and to marry Mr Everdeen. She was brave because she had someone that moved her to be brave. When that someone was lost she shut down.

I'm still not sure if Haymitch is a Ravenclaw or a Griffindor. He's very similar to Katniss, and again in his coping mechanism he shows the griffindor's weakness. Once their reason to be brave disappears, they give up, or close to it.

SLYTHERINS: GALE/ BEETEE/ SNOW/ COIN/PLUTARCH

SLYTHERINS are cunning and ambitious. Most of you won't argue me for Snow or Coin or even Plutarch, so I'll dive deeper into the other two. Finnick once said that no Victor won by chance except Peeta. But there are different ways to win the games. Let's take Haymitch as an example. Haymitch was brave, and fit, yet you never see him actively pursuing other tributes to kill. He is very smart and ultimately that's what saves him, but he is always only trying to defend himself. Beetee makes a trap that kills eight (?) tributes in one go.

Gale's character is quite similar, it's not by chance that Gale is so good with traps. He is also ambitious, and that is why I'm putting him here and not Gryffindor. You see, once the war was over, do you really think Gale would step down and move back to Twelve for a simple life raising geese? Even if it wasnt for the Prim issue, I doubt he would do it. He was always angry with the Capitol, the peacekeepers, even the merchants, not just because of what they did, but because they had what he couldn't have. (This is why I think he really would never pursue Katniss romantically, if not for Peeta demonstrating his affections. Haymitch himself says that "Peeta made her desirable by showing he desired her." I think Gale only wanted her when others showed they wanted her too, but I digress. ) The merchants were mostly harmless to him, but they had more than him, and Gale wanted more. And that's what defines a Slytherin. It's someone that wants more. Ultimately he got it.

(I don't believe all Slytherins are evil, even though the examples I gave are all characters I dislike.)

RAVENCLAWS: PRIMROSE (?) WIRESS, HAYMITCH (?)

Wit and learning. No character comes to mind as an evident Ravenclaw. I feel Prim might be one, but

we never saw a grown up Prim, so I'm not sure. Wiress is probably one too, but she's a minor character and we don't know that much about her to know for sure.

Haymitch is my best guess. He wins his games by wit. Same with the 74th, if not for his strategy, P and K would have never won. He's a strategyst (he likes to play chess) and he's always "playing the game", up until the end. Still not sure if he's more Ravenclaw or more Gryffindor.

HUFFLEPUFFS: PEETA/PRIMROSE(?)/DELLY/THOM

HUFFLEPUFFS are loyal and hardworking. (They might have other traits, but this is what defines them.) Hufflepuffs can be compared to gardeners (the head of house is an herbology teacher!). You need a lot of patience to be a gardener. To plant a seed, to water it, to weed everything around it and to watch it grow. Its hard work, with your eyes on the long run. I believe Delly is one. She is a loyal friend, not afraid to step up when Peeta needed the most, when others (Katniss) lost all hope in him. I see her work with him in D13 a lot like gardening: weeding out what's bad and nurturing the good. Its hard work without an immediate reward. But she doesn't give up on him and neither does Prim.

Thom we know very little about, but he's close to my heart. The few times we see him he's Hufflepuff all the way. Sticking to Gale when he was whipped even though that might come back to bite him later. Being part of the crew that come back to rebuild, from scratch, going through the rubble and ashes... That's hard work (one Gale, Katniss and Haymitch would never endure).

At last Peeta is the most Hufflepuff that has ever hufflepuffed on this earth. He's loyal to himself and his beliefs ("I don't want to be a piece in their games") and most of all to Katniss ("always").

He's always portraited as a devoted worker. At the bakery, either carrying bags of floor or doing delicate decorations. After becoming a Victor he actually has a talent (we don't see other Victors actually devoted to this). When they find out about the quell he's the one who's diligent in training (yes, he wants to save Katniss, but she wants to save him too, still I don't see her prancing around with workout drills). If you're still not convinced, you see him planting the primroses in the end (again, hufflepuffs are gardeners.) And we had three books telling us how he planted a seed in Katniss heart, weed out everything bad that tried to choke it (her erroneous notions about him), watered it (quiet moments away from the cameras) and he did what gardeners do best. He waited.

Susan Bones

Born into the well respected Bones Family, people who fought for justice and were not quiet in front of violence.

Susan grew up knowing that the world was not always fair nor accepting of differences.

All Bones family belonged to Hufflepuff, and Amelia was an integral part of Hufflecrew.

Thus Susan had a legacy full of honor, stubbornness and fierceness behind her back from an early age.

Her uncle Edgar was a praised war hero who died in combat, while her aunt Amelia was part of the Wizengamot and hold a great prestige to her name.

With such a great bunch of trophies and deeds in the Bones name Susan felt she had to always do her best and best herself in every situation.

In her grades, her combat skills and when defending her family and her beliefs.

Susan always had a strong short temper but she tried to collect herself and not make any trouble whenever she could, even if it meant that she looked like a fool to herself.

She was sorted in Hufflepuff the same year Harry Potter came back to the Wizarding World by entering Hogwarts after years of mystery and disconcertment of how he was able to survive the deadly 'killing curse', everyone was dumbfounded with every theory and also with Harry's peculiar scar on his forehead.

He was sorted in Gryffindor and soon proved why he was sorted there.

His recklessness caused harm and damage to Hogwarts every single year and it was up to the rest of the Houses to clean up the mess done to them and put off with all the preference and freedom Dumbledore gave to Harry and Gryffindors over all.

Susan was the leader of both the Citrine trio, which also included Ernie McMillan and Hannah Abbott, and of the Hufflecrews and she was in charge of protecting all the Hufflepuffs, no matter in which year they were or who they got along with, she would assure they all would be fine.

By the beginnings of the Second Wizarding War, her aunt Amelia died at the hands of Voldemort; all the rest of the family was destroyed, and as a grief-stricken Susan mourned her auntie and favorite hero, she was determined to protect her loved ones from the Death Eaters.

When the Death Eaters and the Carrow siblings took over Hogwarts, Hufflecrew members, as well as graduated Hufflecrew members did all they had in their hands to protect Hogwarts students from all danger no matter the cost.

Susan took the vow to not let any harm befall Hufflepuffs nor let anyone under her wing die in vain.

The very night of the Batlle of Hogwarts, all Hufflepuff students fought, and Susan was by their side, protecting everyone she saw and found.

Her patronus, an elephant, was a great help to the students, teachers and reinforcements that came to help, especially to Harry, Hermione and Ron, who had miss that year to find the horcruxes and had a lot of falling-outs, her patronus was a big deal for their enemies and a great tool to their allies.

After the battle, everyone tried to go back to normal in all the ways they could do it, but Susan realized she had to learn from all those experiences to create something new.

She founded another hospital, "Bones Family Hospital".

The hospital was meant not only for physical therapy, but for mental health, children illnesses, on-going diseases, and specially PTSD treatment.

That was her calling and wanted to make a tribute to her family and honor and help all the families that lost someone and people who were dealing with their own grief.

And she was proud to bring honor to both Hufflepuff ad her family.

I actually do like Harry Potter :) and I love the Hunger Games, so I would be happy to participate!

Ok, so I guess I'll start with the characters in the order they appear:

Katniss-Gyrrifindor because she's just got that brave, pure hearted, heroine vibe. The only other house I could see her in would be Hufflepuff, maybe. But then again I think Katniss' foremost trait is bravery, beyond even her loyalty or her hard working nature. Also that whole chivalry thing, if I tweak the idea so that it applies in Katniss' case, I would say that Katniss does have a lot of qualities of the original idea of chivalry. Because the concept of chivalry was developed in the middle ages, as a code of honor for knights to follow. And one of the classic codes of honor was to protect the weak, which Katniss OBVIOUSLY excels at.

Prim-has to be Hufflepuff because she's a classic hufflepuff. She's constantly loyal to Katniss, even when Katniss pulls away from everyone and doesn't explain what she's going through. Also she was selected for the doctor program in D13 when she was just fourteen years old. That girl was HARDWORKING. There's no doubt about it. She's a super hufflepuff.

Gale-I would actually sort him into Ravenclaw, even though he does have a good amount of ambition. He could be Sytherin, especially in the last novel. But I'm working off the idea that the hat sorts people at a young age, before things like war and hardship change them. I always saw his inherent nature as being someone who seeks and searches for knowledge and freedom. I think a lot of his resentment came from the oppression he was born under and the lack of opportunities for betterment. I feel like he would thrive in Ravenclaw.

Effie-I think would be Ravenclaw or Slytherin. She's smart, (she has a specialized degree in architecture) and ambitious so either one would do for her.

Haymitch I would sort into Gryffindor. Definitely. Because in his youth he was extremely brave, (his behavior during his Quarter Quell was pretty admirable, especially in reference to Maysilee Donner) (I would still argue he's brave in his old age, I mean he was willing to go back into the Games during the Quarter Quell to save Peeta's life) and he does some seriously chivalrous things in the books as Katniss and Peeta's mentor. He doesn't allow the Capitol doctors to surgically enhance Katniss after her and Peeta's games (they wanted to give her fake boobs). He tries to protect Katniss and Peeta from the horrors and debaucherie of the Capitol.

Finnick - Gryffindor as well. He's very brave, and despite all he's been through he is actually a chivalrous person. He is one of Peeta's best protectors and friends throughout Mockingjay. He seems to me like a man of action, a lot like Katniss. Jump in feet first and think about the consequences later. All bravery and noble intentions.

Johanna- I'm going Slytherin because it feels like a seriously good fit for her. She's be so happy there. She'd rule the roost quite easily I think.

Peeta- I saved the best for last because, well, its Peeta hello. Anyways, I hope no one vilifies me for this but I honestly think Peeta fits into Slytherin quite nicely. I like how one professor who wrote an explaination of his character described him. He said Peeta was a renaissance man. He is a person with talents and areas of knowledge (painting, baking, speaking to large crowds), he is worldly, more so than Katniss. He automatically figures out the other tributes strategy that puts Katniss off her game before the Quarter Quell (the whole making her uncomfortable and teasing her because she's pure thing). He also is a very good liar, and is great at deception. Like seriously, even Katniss says so in Catching Fire. And let's not forget his subtle manipulations of the audience and of other characters all throughout the books. "She came here with me." "We're madly in love, so feel free to kiss me at any time." "If it weren't for the baby" "Katniss isn't aware of how the rebels are using her image" etc. etc. So he's remarkably cunning. And I also think he's pretty ambitious. He went into the Hunger Games with a plan. To join the FREAKING Careers as a false flag, to gain their trust and then ultimately betray them, in order to save Katniss. The dude is a strategist. But he also has a damn heart of gold. Like he uses his powers for good, not evil and wow that's so hot to me.

But anyways enough of me thirsting over Peeta. Again all these house sorting decisions are all just MY OPINIONS. So nobody come after me because of this Hypothetical situation.

i had a sudden urge to do this. don't ask why because idk either. includes characters from harry potter's golden/lightning (what is the actual consensus for the name really?) era, marauders era and from hogwarts legacy. plus mattheo riddle and enzo berkshire (oc's that i don't own but i love them so they're here) and dianthe potter (my oc and harry's little sister from nowhere really but I'm also planning for her to be my gryffindor (or maybe hufflepuff?) mc in hl. but ig with a diff surname since I'm pretty sure you can't use potter).

let's pretend they're all alive at the same time and people with the same surnames who are originally from different times are just cousins or something

A cloud of poisonous smoke starts to fill the arena.

Sirius is engulfed in the cloud of poisonous smoke.

Remus sacrifices himself so Luna can get away.

31 October 1981

For the first time since meeting the other Marauders, Remus Lupin had no plans for Halloween. Throughout their Hogwarts years, Halloween had been a big deal. In the first few years, their main focus had been pranks, trying to outdo their previous year’s scares by going progressively bigger. By their fifth year, they were throwing massive parties in the Gryffindor common room with free-flowing alcohol and charmed alarms on the corridors to warn them if a professor was approaching.

1978 and 1979 had included big parties at the Potter’s cottage in Godric’s Hollow, a welcome reprieve from the chaos of the war. For a few hours, Remus and his friends had acted like the twenty-somethings they were and allowed themselves to have fun.

1980 had been Harry Potter’s first Halloween, and James and Lily’s first night away from their 3 month old son while Remus and Sirius babysat. The new parents went out to enjoy a few hours of piece at a muggle movie theatre, while Harry and his godfathers handed out candy to the neighbourhood children. Remus couldn’t stop smiling at his boyfriend, who had dressed Harry up as a black puppy and worn fuzzy ears to match.

This year was different. The Potters were in hiding, a prophecy dangling over their infant son, and had elected Sirius as their secret keeper, knowing he’d give his life before he gave them up. Naturally, this had meant both Sirius and Remus would go into hiding, making James their secret keeper so that no one could find either couple. It had been a boring few months, with no visitors besides Minerva McGonagall, who had been entrusted with their location in order to bring groceries, and no missions to get them out of the house.

Halloween was slated to be equally boring for the Lupin-Black household. There would be no children knocking on their door, no costumes, no parties. The only change to their routine had been the pumpkin juice they had had with their dinner, a special delivery from McGonagall as a tribute to the season. Besides that, they had moved in the same circle they always did, eating together, playing music, and trying to find something to do in the tiny apartment.

Despite the monotony of the day, Remus couldn’t find it in him to be bored. They had received a letter from the Potters that morning, with a picture of Harry and James in matching deer costumes and grins, and the flat smelled like cinnamon from Sirius’s latest recipe trial of cinnamon cookies. Now, the fire was dying as Remus sat on the couch drinking a cold cup of tea. Sirius was fast asleep, his head on Remus’s lap as his boyfriend played gently with his hair. Sirius had put on one of Hope’s classical records after dinner and the quiet music was the only sound in the room.

For the first time in weeks, Remus felt like he could breathe. The Potters were safe. Sirius was safe, asleep, calm. Remus was home with him. Next year, when the war was over, they could throw a big party and take Harry trick-or-treating. Next year, they could be young and reckless. But this year, they were safe, and that was all that mattered. This year, he was perfectly happy with his sleeping boyfriend and cold tea.

Beside you until the very end, chapter 4

Philip felt like in a dream. Not a good one, with what had happened a few hours earlier very present in his mind. He couldn’t believe Eleazar was truly gone...

The bells were tolling solemnly, urging students and faculty to gather in the Great Hall.

As Philip got there, the ambiance was heavy. No one spoke or acknowledged his presence. All eyes were set on the headmaster’s podium, or on the black mourning banners hung from the ceiling.

Headmaster Black went up to the podium and tried to honour Professor Fig with a speech. However, he kept choking on his words, so Professor Weasley did the honours herself. She spoke of him with words that showed he had been more than a colleague to her, he had been a friend.

After this short ceremony, most students returned to their common rooms. Philip stayed in the Great Hall, trying not to think about what had happened beneath the school. If things had gone differently, Eleazar could still be alive.

It’s not your fault, he heard in his head. Don’t doubt yourself. Don’t dwell on it, it does you no good.

He got up and left the Hall, counting on not finding anyone on the way to the Gryffindor common room. Once he got there, he ran up to the stairs to his dormitory, throwing himself on his bed and bursting into tears. After a while, he finally fell asleep.
