INTRO POST:
HIIII! I’m James Potter—though my friends just call me Jamie or Prongs. Though for some reason regulus, Sirius and Remus insist on calling me “the Sun (I know, dramatic, right? (Though it don't mind if its my star, Reg)). I’m Reggie’s boyfriend, the lead troublemaker of the Marauders, and Sirius’s best mate. Life’s always brighter when there’s a little adventure or mischief involved, but at the core of it, I’m just a happy-go-lucky guy who’s always here to help. No matter what’s going on, I’ll show up for the people I care about—always. Things abt me:
pansexual 🩷💛🩵
Love quidditch (i'm the chaser (THE BETTER ONE))
Morning person (oh how the rest of my friends hate me for it)
Favourite subject is transfiguration
Love setting up pranks
Probably one of the only people in my friend group who love my parents completly.
My friends !!! (a.k.a my FAMILY)
----- The Marauders -----
@blackinabadway - My ride or die best friend and soulmate, SIRIUS BLACK who I love with all of my being (not romantically yet not platonically just pure love)
@boggartballoonmoon - Moony, One of my best friends who i would do anything for. He's had to deal with too much for hwo sweet he is, I try my best to spoil him rotten! (Im kind of scared of how him and regulus are becoming friends-) And ofc hes one of the best things that happened to Sirius and by extension ME <3
@peter-likes-bones - One of my best friends who I've known since when i was born, i love him so much, hes a sweetheart and i would die for him. (hes also secretly a genius and were lucky he's good or we would all be dead)
------The girls<3-----
@ mary - Mary is is such a girlboss I luv her, i also am eternally in debt to her because she was the biggest reason to sirius finnaly accepting he loved remus
@ lily - now that ive gotten over my little crush on lily and am now with the love of my life, i value her so much as just a friend, you go queen!
@marlsisabadbitch - Another one of my childhood friends! She's such a badass, and one of my greatest friends! She the other chaser on my team (im the better one) and is vice captain!
-----The slytherins ------
(If you told me 2yrs ago that there would be a section just for slytherins in my list of friends i'd call you mad)
@bartycjr - I haven't talked to him much yet but he seems pretty chill, feel like we would get along well (especially in annoying regulus to the point of insanity except he cant get mad cus he loves us). Would love to grab a drink with him (though my friends dont rlly like him lmao)
@silverwinterrose- Also haven't talked to him much but if he's regulus's friend hes my friend! seems pretty chill, alot like remus?
@ Dorcasss - Marlene's gf! She hangs out with us gryffidnors plenty and i absolutely love her! great person to trust with your drinkw hen you're out. plus she just a vibe.
@ Pandora - (She's a ravenclaw but rlly just a honorary slytherin) She's pretty whimsical and strange but in enedearing and good way! She does keep randomly coming up to me and telling me to not open doors but wtv>
@doesntknow-howtoswim - Last but DEFIENTLY not least, the love of my life (romantically), my escape, my beatiful star, REGULUS BLACK<333 I luv him so much, even when- no actually especially when he's mean to me. He's perfect to me and for me! The star to my sun<3

Pen, do Draco and Ginny ever have a thing in any kind of way between Ch6 and 7 of Draco Malfoy & the Master of Death? I know I could try to write fic of such a thing to fulfil my own projections onto the characters, but I want to know what exists for you in the world of the fic. :D
Oh, also, so do Snape and Hermione in fact end up getting together? Or was she just traveling with him while trying to find Draco? I'm mostly curious bc if they did indeed get together, it means so much for Snape's character, that he worked past various things, like his own self-loathing, to get to a point where he'd accept that kind of love and relationship in his life.
so, I purposefully left a lot of things open ended so that people could fill in the blanks however they like. Personally, I think Ginny and Draco would get together after chapter 6 - she says she doesn’t care about his name or money, which has always been Draco’s hangups when it comes to dating girls; Draco has become much more gryffidnor ish after his time with Harry and travels… and they have a lot to trauma bond over, so. Oh, Harry did also tell Draco he had to do better than pansy, so Draco would remember that.
as for snape and hermione… tough one. He didn’t take hermione with him for his Draco hunting excursions; the time the spent together was dealing with political shit. I truly don’t know what their story is. I don’t think I can see snape allowing himself to be happy with anyone after losing Harry, seeing as protecting lily’s son was the only thing keeping him going (as well as getting revenge of Voldemort, but Harry’s life was the priority). So… yeah, I really dunno.

I'm awake and the first thing I want to post is that Hermione ( of age ) would absolutely wear clothing to make her s/o's feel all sorts of things. ;)
be it a Quidditch jersey or shirt that's too big for her, house coloured underwear / lingerie ( slytherin green, gryffidnor red, etc )—items of clothing that just do the work. She doesn't usually dress to impress, she doesn't need to, but she WILL put that effort in.

I'm bored so I'm gonna complain about the Disney version of Narnia (and some Harry Potter) as a book nerd
Alright, to start this off, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe was okay, but Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader were shit.
Since when does Caspian and Susan like each other? And don't get me started on the movies trying to make Caspian and Edmund look better than Peter. They ruined Caspian and Peter's friendship, and took away Edmund's and Peter's sibling bond. And book Peter would never had scarified his people in sake of "proving himself". the White Witch's summoning was never completed, so Peter never got to see her, let alone nearly fall into temptation.
They completely changed their personalities in the movies, making it seemed Peter was Godric, Susan was Rowana (or whatever her name was), Edmund Salazar and Lucy Helga.
Alright, for those who don't know: Gryffidnor: Brave and Chivalrous. Ravenclaw: Smart and open-minded. Skytherin: Cunning and ambitious. Hufflepuff: Loyal and just.
And for Narnia fan who don't see it: King Edmund the JUST Queen Lucy the VALIANT (Valiant = brave) Susan was described and un-smart in the books, so how could she possibly be Ravenclaw? And she was close-minded, only believing things she saw like Hermione. She was always described that she was CUNNING with a bow (albeit, she didn't fight). Peter was the smartest out of all the siblings.
Since when did Edmund fight the serpent? They had pushed the serpent off the ship and left before the serpent could crush them. Caspian and Edmund never had chemistry (gayness being illegal back then when the book was written and Edmund's timeline), Caspian didn't have anger issues.
No hate to the actors or their looks, but they all look completely different from their book version besides Susan.

You belong with me- Oliver Wood
You're on the phone with your girlfriend She's upset, she's going off about something that you said 'Cause she doesn't get your humour like I do.
"She's infuriating," Oliver complains, throwing the quaffle just a little too hard at his best friend. She was a chaser and the pair often did drills even when practice was long over, it helped Oli calm down and being utterly enamoured with the boy she happily stayed behind, wanting to be around him.
"She's your girlfriend Oli," She reminds, tossing the quaffle back and smirking when in his distracted state he almost doesn't catch it
"I know that, and I really do like her. It's just hard, we don't have much in common," He admits with a sigh.
"But she's beautiful and..." she trails off, no matter how supportive she tries to be she doesn't really have any more positives to say about his girlfriend Harriet. Harriet was truly beautiful, the year above and a Ravenclaw. She had longs legs and perfect skin and golden curls.
Other than that she was kind of a bitch.
She knew she was beautiful and it was the only personality she really had. She was rude and harsh, often make snide remarks and overall a typical bitchy mean girl. If she didn't like someone she wasn't secret about it and as her boyfriends best friend who just so happened to be a girl, the Gryffindor was becoming the victim of most of this.
Oliver, of course, would never have stood for this, he simply didn't know. It was little comments that went over his head and remarks when he wasn't around, it was looks he was too busy to notice and it was slowly but surely pushing her further and further away.
"She just doesn't ever take anything as a joke,"
"She's just got a different sense of humour than you Oli, don't worry, with time you will grow and adapt to each others humour," she tries her hardest to smile and Oliver seems not to notice how upset she is. He nods sending her a smile that melts her heart feel like it's squeezing in her chest.
"You're right, you always are. I'm going to go find her and see if she wants to study. D'ya wanna come?"
"No. Thanks. I should go and find George, I promised I'd help him with some potions homework," she excuses herself far too quickly, turning on her heel and heading up towards the castle without him despite the fact they're both going. Leaving Oliver wondering why he feels so jealous that she is spending her evening with their teammate that she was undeniably close with.
I'm in the room, it's a typical Tuesday night. I'm listening to the kind of music she doesn't like. And she'll never know your story like I do.
"You okay?" it's George's voice that seems to almost wake her up as she sits, pushing cereal around a bowl with her spoon.
"Do you think he notices?" she questions, George lets out a sigh, looking down the table at where Oliver is eating breakfast and chatting with Harriet, his eyes trained on her smile.
"He's stupid,"
"Y'know we haven't had breakfast together in three weeks. Lunch and dinner never mattered, we always ate with our group of friends. But breakfast, every morning since first year we got breakfast together and no one else comes, it's just us," She speaks in a tone that makes it clear to the ginger boy in front of her, the only one who knows of her feelings for her best friend, that her heart is slowly breaking.
"I'm sure he notices," George sighs, giving her shoulder a rub
"I don't know if that's better or worse," The girl admits, watching subtly as Oliver presses a kiss to his girlfriend's lips. "I'm going to class, I'll see you around George," she announces, standing from her seat and leaving towards her first class of the day even though it doesn't start for another 45 minutes. A feeling like she could be sick just sat the thought of him and her.
She doesn't know that Oliver immediately notices her leaving, to him it feels like the whole room feels a little colder, a little darker, like the sun itself just disappeared. He was almost used to the feeling, it meant she had gone. He looks up, noticing the bowl of cereal he had watched her pour 5 minutes before was untouched, grabbing an apple and throwing it into his bag to give her second period when he knew she'd be starving. His concern for only getting worse when she never shows to the lesson.
But she wears short skirts I wear T-shirts She's cheer captain And I'm on the bleachers Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find That what you're looking for has been here the whole time.
Oliver wasn't expecting her to show to practice that night, she hadn't eaten breakfast, she hadn't shown to any classes that he shared with her and she wasn't at lunch. He assumed she was ill, planning on checking on her after practise, he'd been busy with Harriet all day and hadn't had a chance to run to her dorm. So, he's mildly confused as she approaches the pitch, dressed in her quidditch robes and chatting happily to Angelina who was walking by her side.
"Hey love," he greets with a smile
"That is most definitely not me," Angelina smirks, slipping away to give the pair a moment of peace and privacy.
"Where were you all day?" he questions
"I just wasn't feeling great," she shrugs, in reality she had been avoiding classes shared with Oliver, the thought of him and Harriet a little too much to bare. She'd only come to practise because she thought she might get a minute alone with her best friend, desperate for his company, feeling further from him than she ever had before.
A quick glance around told her she wouldn't get this. Harriet is sat with her friends, dressed in a skimpy top and short skirt and clearly trying not to freeze. A dark and dirty glare aimed at the girl talking to her boyfriend. Making the girl feel uncomfortable and want to leave and be with anyone other than Oliver, after all she would never hear the end of it if she was with him too long.
"So, are you feeling better?" he questions gently, reaching a hand out to see if she feels warm. He tries to ignore the pang of hurt in his chest when she ducks away from his touch, shooting him a tight lipped smile.
"I feel fine now, so no need to go easy on me or anything," she informs attempting to make a joke but he can tell something is wrong with her, he just has no idea that it is him. She's walking away in the direction of Harry who is calling her over before he can question her any further.
The hour long practice feels off to Oliver. She plays well but she hardly looks at him. Only speaks to him when spoken to and only about quidditch. That would be fine if it was how she was with everyone, perhaps having a bad day or just tired but with every other player on the team she's her normal charming self.
His plan to catch her after practice is shoved aside when Harriet comes over and by the time Oliver can ask her to give him a minute before they go to his captain's office, his best friend is walking with the twins back up to the castle. With a sigh, Oliver decides to drop the whole thing, maybe tomorrow would be back to normal.
If you could see That I'm the one Who understands you. Been here all along. So, why can't you see You belong with me, You belong with me.
It kind of does fall back to normal. He watches her eat breakfast with their friend group and she's smiling and laughing, enjoying her waffles. He enters the Charms class room to see her talking happily with the Hufflepuff girl who sits behind them. Maybe it really was just an off day.
The slither of hope drops when her entire vibe changes as he drops into the seat next to her. There's no friendly hug good morning. There's no questions about how he slept and his day so far. A simple 'Hi Oli' before she's suddenly more interested in a Charms textbook than he's ever seen her before. Throughout the day and their shared classes he slowly manages to get through to her. From no chitchat to talks of quidditch to more personal chatter to their normal selves. Joking and laughing and utterly invested in the other.
She almost feels like this whole weird phase is over and everything is going to go back to normal, but when normally they would go and hang out with their friends in the common room after dinner he is heading to take Harriet to the astronomy tower and she's once again reminded that her best friend is slowly slipping away from her. That one normal day isn't going to replace the 4 months he's been drifting further and further away.
Oliver feels like his chest is on fire when he returns to the common room. She is no longer surrounded by their friend group. Instead she is sat with George, her head on his shoulder as he reads quietly to her by the fireplace. It wasn't long ago that it would be Oliver she would fall asleep in's arms and force to read to her, she would claim that she just loved his accent to guilt trip him into doing it and he would do it every time just to see her bright grin.
He tries to convince himself that the raging jealousy in his chest isn't that George and her may like each other. No. The jealousy he feels is because his best friend is doing best friend things, their things specifically, with someone other than him. He had Harriet. He was happy with Harriet. It just didn't help that the person she always seemed to be around now was tall and funny and good at quidditch and kind. It didn't help that they shared so many qualities because it made him feel like she could find a new Oliver and he knew he could never find someone who even compared to her. That is why he is jealous, he forces himself to say it in his head a few times to convince himself.
In reality nothing was going on between George and the girl. They had always been close friends, Oliver just never noticed how much time they spent together cause he was usually there too.
Walk in the streets with you in your worn-out jeans I can't help thinking this is how it ought to be. Laughing on a park bench thinking to myself, "Hey, isn't this easy?"
When word reached Oliver, through Percy Weasley of all people, which only rubbed salt in the wound, that she had gone on a date with Christian Ward, a boy from the year above, he couldn't help the spark of jealousy. He wondered why she hadn't even bothered to tell him, until he realised that they barely even saw each other anymore aside from in class.
So, when he saw her sat alone in the courtyard, nose in a book and enjoying the quiet he couldn't help himself from going over. He was only there because he was supposed to be meeting Harriet there but she was nowhere to be seen so he figured he had a minute.
"Hey angel," He doesn't quite understand why it hurts so much that she doesn't look up. Before now, if he called a pet name across a busy hall she would always look up, knowing it was meant for her, he supposed it was because recently they hadn't been and it hurt to know that the habit had been dropped from her life so quickly. Yes. That's what hurt. Not that he knew it was his fault. Not the thought of the first few times she would have turned around with that beautiful smile ready to greet him only to see his arms wrapped around someone else.
"Hey, I'm talking to you," he speaks gently, nudging her knee with his as he sits down next to her. He wonders why she springs away from his touch, not knowing about the threats and comments his own girlfriend had made towards her.
"Hi Oli," her smile doesn't reach her eyes
"What are you reading?"
"Little women," she shrugs with a small smile
"I've seen you read that book a thousand times and I have been forced to read it to you at least twenty," he teases
"It's a classic!" she defends. He knew the real reason it was a favourite of hers was that her and her sister used to read it together when they were kids. "Besides, you're attempt at doing voices was pretty incredible," she smirks, he laughs at the memory, speaking in a high pitched girly voice. He'd been trying to cheer her up after a hard day and he'd never heard her laugh as hard.
"I can't help being so masculine," he defends through a chuckle, thinking when she giggles that he couldn't remember the last time he was the reason behind her laughter. "So, heard you went out with Christian?" he question casually
"How'd you hear about that?" she asks, tilting her head to the side in curiosity making Oliver's heart melt.
"Percy," he shrugs. He doesn't say that Percy had told him when he was purposely pissing the prefect off, more as a way to get him to shut up than as friendly gossip. He also didn't feel like sharing that it had immediately worked.
"I forgot they do prefect rounds together," she comments
"How was it?" he questions
"Awful," she admits, he gives her a look of pity as she continues "He was just so stiff and the whole thing was awkward and it just felt so hard to talk to him," she admits. She doesn't add that it was the opposite of when she spent time with Oliver and everything felt so natural.
"When it's the right lad it'll be good and you will feel so at ease from that first moment that you will just know," Oliver comforts
"Is that what it's like with Harriet?" she questions. He feels uncomfortable. When he had offered that advice his mind hadn't been on Harriet, it had been on her, on how natural it was with her. It shouldn't have been, they were best friend but they were nothing more and he needed to remember that.
"It could be, in the future," he settles for his response even though it's a lie. "Listen, angel, I know that recently I-" he's cut off by a sickly sweet voice.
"Baby, are you ready?" Harriet is calling from across the courtyard. He sighs, wanting to talk to his best friend and apologise for how shit of a best friend he had been recently.
"Go, it's fine. We can talk whenever," the girl assures. Oliver nods, giving her a smile and walking off to his girlfriend, stealing one last look at the girl on the bench, the setting sun creating a golden glow that made her seem so angelic he could have melted on the spot.
And you've got a smile That could light up this whole town. I haven't seen it in a while Since she brought you down. You say you're fine I know you better than that. Hey, what you doing with a girl like that?
"Is it just me or does Oli seem off recently?" she ponders the question to Ally and Josh, their friend groups only couple. Ally was her closest friend besides Oliver and had her suspicions the girl may be head over heels for the boy.
"How so?" Josh asks, looking up from the open potions text book in front of him
"Just quiet and I don't know how to explain it just not himself," she shrugs
"He's been normal with me," Josh shrugs, thinking for a second "A little quiet I guess but normal on a whole,"
"Right," she nods, so it really was just her.
"You are stupid Josh," Ally comments, laughing when he jokingly grabs his chest like she just stabbed him "He has been completely off, he barely cracks jokes anymore and he's stopped being stupidly cocky, he practices quidditch less and he is never smiling. Like ever,"
"Do you think it's about Harriet?" she asks the question timidly, what if everyone else thought they were a happy couple and it was just her undeniable jealousy.
"Nah, no one is depressed because they are dating a girl that fit. I mean have you se-" He cuts himself off when Ally shoot him a pointed look "Like me I would never be depressed over a girl because you, my love, are so incredibly beautiful," he clearly misread the look that screamed shut up, not realising Ally was trying to silence him because she could see her friend sinking slowly into herself.
"Maybe it's about how he is never with his best friend anymore," Ally smiles gently
"What do you mean?"
"Just that you guys have kind of drifted a little, that's probably what's getting him down," Ally explains.
It was true, they barely spoke anymore and although the girl cared so much for Oliver she was more than a little annoyed. What started with a small distance was becoming a great gaping hole and he barely bothered to notice it. He'd slowly began to drop her, sitting with different friends in classes, speeding away from practice rather than staying late with her, not showing up for their Tuesday evening study sessions, not talking to her between classes, their best friend breakfasts, as Oliver used to call them with a stupidly wide grin, were a thing of ancient history.
She was annoyed. Annoyed that there was no doubt in her mind Harriet told him to distance himself from her. Annoyed that having been best friends for 6 years he was so ready to just toss her aside.
"That was his choice," The girl snaps, letting out a sigh "Sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you. I've got to go, I have practice," she explains, standing up and grabbing her quidditch kit bag from the ground.
She wears high heels, I wear sneakers. She's cheer captain, And I'm on the bleachers. Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find That what you're looking for has been here the whole time.
"Hey! Wait up!" Oli's voice is calling and she knows it's directed at her. Straight after practice he had retired into his captain office and so she had taken her time in the locker room, not in a rush to escape the area for once as Harriet was no where in sight so she finally took the time to tidy her locker up a little. The twins had offered to wait but she insisted she was fine. Leaving her the only person here, the only person he could be talking to.
"Hi," she speaks quietly, a layer of nerves that she had never felt around the boy in front of her. Every single bone in her body wanted to ask him to hold her. Life without him felt so much harder and she was tired. she needed him but she felt like she couldn't even ask anymore.
"You were great out there," he praises
"Oh, thanks. I've been a little off my game recently, sorry about that,"
"Hey, you have always played exceptionally well. I'd have said something if I thought you weren't"
"You don't really say anything to me anymore Oliver," he cringes a little, she hadn't called him Oliver ever. Not when he blew a potion up in her face and left her with a large burn there for a month. Not when he threw a quaffle too hard at her and knocked her unconscious. Not when they were so angry at each other they were both screaming. The distance between them had never been so clear.
"Look, I know that I have been a really, really, shit best friend. Recently, I haven't prioritised us and I should, I always should, because you are the person I trust the most on this planet and I know this isn't ever going to make up for the last 6 months. I know nothing I can say will make all of it go away but I miss you, I really miss you, and I hate not having you around and please, please just come back to me," He almost looks like he's going to cry and without a second thought she flings her arms around him, he lets out a sigh of relief, feeling every muscle in his body relax for the first time in months as he wraps his arms around her, holding her head to his chest and breathing in her scent.
After a minute or two she lets go, pulling away from him again.
"So, do you wanna do some extra practice?" he questions with a grin, she beams, ready to nod and finally spend some time with her best friend.
But then she notices it. The door swings open and he tenses up, a look of pure horror on his face, spinning around as quick as possible only relaxing when he sees Harry in the door way.
"Sorry to interrupt, I forgot my school bag," He informs, grabbing the bag from the bench and leaving again.
A tense silence fills the room. Oliver turns back round, maybe she didn't notice. Maybe she wouldn't be mad.
"You thought it was Harriet?"
"Angel-"
"No. No you thought it was Harriet and I saw the look in your eyes. You were terrified she would see you talking to me. It's the same look as when she walks into the great hall and you were with our friend group even if you've ignored me the whole time. It's the reason I can under perform at practice and you say nothing cause she's watching, and don't lie cause George and I threw a practice just to see what happened and you shouted at him but me, nothing,"
"Of course you were doing it with him," he regrets the comment the minute he says it when she scoffs.
"I would forgive you for a lot Oliver. I really would, but I refuse to be your dirty little secret," She turns on her heel and storms away, leaving the boy staring after her and wondering how he would ever repair this.
If you could see That I'm the one Who understands you, Been here all along. So, why can't you see You belong with me.
Oliver's hand hammers on her dorm door, he hadn't seen her over the weekend, he assumed she was avoiding him, but with the news he just heard nothing was stopping him from speaking to her.
"One minute!" she calls out. Oliver ignores the way his heart swells at the sound of her voice.
She pulls the door open, clearly fresh from a shower, her hair still damp and only clad in a large tshirt and some sports shorts.
"What do you want?" She demands, arms crossed over her chest and a scowl on her face. He pushes past her into the dorm, closing the door behind him.
"You quit the quidditch team," He tries to remain calm, not wanting to scream at her
"I did," she nods
"You didn't just quit, you broke protocol and went straight to the head of house rather than speaking to your captain,"
"Yeah, well my captain looks like he's been hit by a truck whenever he's seen in my general vicinity in public," she retorts
"Why the fuck would you quit the team?" He's furious, more at the fact he was loosing her than actually at her
"Because I can't be around you!" she shouts, unable to keep her temper down
"What are you talking about?" he questions, his heart sinking in his chest
"It kills me! Being around you physically hurts. Just seeing you creates this pain in my chest like I can't breathe. Seeing you so fine without me kills me Oliver! You were supposed to be my best friend and now you don't even look at me. You left me. I can't breathe because I don't have you anymore and you just seem so fine and it hurts, it really hurts!" She has tears streaming down her face as she shouts but she doesn't seem to care, he'd seen her in a worse state.
"What makes you think I'm so fine?" he demands
"If you weren't fine. If you felt even half as shit as I do then you wouldn't do it. You wouldn't ignore me."
"I have a girlfriend and I am trying to make it work and she doesn't like the way we are together. I'm saving my relationship you would do the same!"
"No! When I date a boy if he questions us for a second, if he asks me to distance myself from you I drop him. I drop him because I don't ever drop you. I couldn't do to you what you have done to me," Oliver's heart hurts because he knows that she's right. What he has done is the complete wrong thing.
"Rejoin the quidditch team. You love playing quidditch. Please, please don't let me ruin that for you,"
"I love quidditch, it's fun and exciting and it makes me feel free. But I only ever joined the team because you asked me to try out with you. I love quidditch because it was time we spent together,"
"You are making a mistake,"
"I can't be there. I can't be around you anymore because it hurts me too much. So, captain, respectfully I quit the team, if you are wondering I think you should put Katie Bell on in my place, she's you best alternate by a mile and she works hard. Now, please leave me alone,"
Standing by and waiting at your backdoor. All this time how could you not know, baby? You belong with me, You belong with me.
"I hate Oliver Wood," Fred grumbles, dropping into the seat next to the girl in the common room. She's sat in her workout clothes, planning on going for a jog but had got distracted by her a conversation with Ally who returned to her essay at Fred's arrival.
"Why?" she questions, turning to the ginger boy who is covered in mud and slightly sweaty, clearly fresh from his quidditch practice.
"He's even worse now you're gone. He made us do fitness drills for 45 minutes, I'm sorry what sane person asks someone to do burpees and run laps for 45 minutes. And he's so aggressive, I mean shouts at everyone. All the time. Seriously, poor Harry's glasses fell off and you'd think the boy murdered Oliver's mother. He's in a foul mood," Fred complains.
She can't help but feel a little bad, she knew Oliver like the back of her hand. If he was upset rather than processing it he would simply try to ignore it. He would take his anger out on others.
"Chin up, he'll get better," she smiles, patting Fred's shoulder before leaving the common room.
She exits the castle into the warm evening, summer truly beginning. She starts jogging her usual route and if she had thought for even a second she wouldn't have. She would have turned left in the direction of the greenhouses and not right, in the direction of the quidditch pitch. She could have guessed he would be there, if he was as frustrated as Fred claimed it's the only place he would be.
She sees him and her heart breaks a little. He's alone. Beating a bludger around, something he doesn't need to practice, as he never needs to do it, but often does when he wants to relieve some anger.
He sees her, jogging the route they've ran together a hundred times. Her hair thrown back and her sports shorts poking out of the baggy t-shirt she is wearing. Distracted looking at her and not thinking about the bludger racing towards him.
"Oli, duck!" she shouts, he reacts quickly, plummeting to the ground at her demand, hearing the whizz of a bludger snipping past him, it would have hit him in the head if she hadn't warned him. He lets out a sigh, looking up to thank her to see she's turned around and is sprinting off towards the castle. He could cry, watching his best friend so desperate to escape his company.
Oh, I remember you driving to my house In the middle of the night. I'm the one who makes you laugh When you know you're 'bout to cry. I know your favourite songs, And you tell me about your dreams. Think I know where you belong, Think I know it's with me.
It's two weeks later when they next see each other. Oliver knocks on the door to the 6th year girls dorms, cringing a little when it's pulled open by Ally.
"What do you want?" Ally demands, closing the door behind her so the girl can't hear.
"Is she here?"
"No. Your precious girlfriend is in her own dorm,"
"You know that's not who I mean," Oliver sighs, it's only then that Ally notices his eyes look a little red and puffy.
"Fine, but if she tells you to leave you do so instantly," Ally sighs, feeling bad and knowing they both wanted each other back. Oliver nods and pushes through the door as Ally leaves.
"Who was it?" The girl questions, not turning around from her desk
"Uh, me," he's nervous. She turns around an angry look on her face but softens when she immediately notices that he is on the brink of tears.
"Oli, what happened?" she questions, standing from her desk and approaching him tentatively, leaving a respectful distance between them.
"Well," he sighs, "I had a fight with Harriet. She always said she didn't like us being friends and all and I should have stopped her right there, but, it's just that I really thought I liked her and I didn't want to ruin it and she never actually spoke badly of you. But then today she started talking about you and she was so rude and I just, I couldn't handle it, so I snapped and shouted at her and, well, I don't think I have a girlfriend anymore,"
She sighs, not really sure what to say. Yes, he had defended her but now he was crying over loosing Harriet.
"Look, Oli, don't get too upset. Go and apologise and she'll be stupid not to take you back,"
"I'm not upset, I feel like I can breathe for the first time in nearly 7 months,"
"Then why are you crying?" She asks, sitting down on her bed and patting the spot next to her. He sits immediately.
"Because I hate myself. I treated the most important person in my life like absolute shit and now I'm running back to you and it's not fair on you. I hate that I hurt you, god I'd kill someone for hurting you as badly as I did,"
"It's okay," she sighs, reaching out to grab his slightly trembling hand. He uses his other hand to roughly wipe his tears from his cheeks.
"No. No it's not. Shout at me or slap me or ignore me," he demands
"Honestly Oli, I just want my best friend back," she admits.
"I'm still you best friend?" he questions timidly
"You're stuck with me Wood," she grins
"I wouldn't have it any other way," he admits, opening his arms out and unable to stop himself from smiling when she climbs into them.
"If anyone asks-"
"You didn't cry," she finishes, he laughs at how well she knows him. "Wouldn't want anyone questioning how strong and manly you are," she teases
Can't you see That I'm the one Who understands you? Been here all along. So, why can't you see You belong with me.
They lay on her bed. Oliver on his side to face her and her head turned to look at him properly, catching up on everything they missed in each other's lives.
"So, what's going on with you and George?" Oliver questions
"What are you talking about?"
"You guys are dating now," he shrugs, trying not to seem jealous. She bursts out laughing, making Oliver look at her in confusion.
"Where in the world did you get that?"
"Fred told me after practice," he seems truly baffled, only getting more confused when she laughed more.
"We aren't dating. Fred was annoyed at all the fitness drills and was trying to piss you off as revenge,"
"So you guys aren't even like seeing each other?"
"Oli, he is two years younger than us, obviously I am not seeing George," she laughs a little and he realises the relief he feels is because he is utterly and completely in love with his best friend. The realisation hitting him like a truck.
"About practice, you going to come back because we need you at this game against Slytherin on Saturday or we will lose?"
"I'd be honoured," she grins.
Standing by and waiting at your backdoor. All this time how could you not know, baby? You belong with me, You belong with me. You belong with me.
Oliver has his arm wrapped around his best friend's shoulder, two weeks later when he sees Harriet for the first time since the break up. He immediately tenses when he hears her let out a snicker.
"It's embarrassing really that she took him back," Harriet speaks snidely to her friends.
"What did you just say?" Oliver demands, spinning around to face her.
"Leave it Oli," the girl attempts to pull her best friend away but he doesn't listen.
"She is pathetic. You were so whipped you dropped your own best friend and the minute we break up she just takes you back into her life like nothing happened,"
"Well, if she's pathetic what does that make you given that you were so jealous of her," Oliver snaps, his voice low.
"If you think for a second I was jealous of her than you're fucking stupid,"
"Harriet, the whole school knows you were,"
"Why would I ever be jealous of that?" she questions, her eyes looking the girl up and down
"Because she is 10 times the person you will ever be. Because she is kind and funny and smart and beautiful. Because you can't hold a fucking candle to her!" Oliver shouts, aware of the crowd watching them.
"She is pathetic and desperate,"
Oliver doesn't react in the way she expects. She expects him to shout an insult and storm away tugging her along with him.
Instead he pulls her flush against his chest and slams his lips to her. He kisses hard, pulling her impossibly close to him and putting every ounce of love he feels for her into it. She kisses back, melting at his touch and certain if it wasn't for his hands holding her up her legs would give way.
She pulls away breathless and vaguely hears the Weasley twins starting out some loud chants and cheers but her entire mind is focused on Oliver.
"An interesting way to get her to shut up,"
"Well, I've been meaning to kiss you for a while so I figured two birds one stone,"
"So it wasn't just to get her to shut up?" she questions, seemingly insecure and shy.
"No, it was more because I've been in love with you for years and I never realised" he grins
"What a happy coincidence that I'm in love with you too," she smiles
"How could you not be?" he teases, smirking when she wraps her arms round his neck and tugs him down so his lips are on hers once more.
Have you ever thought just maybe You belong with me? You belong with me.

"John has the subtlety of a brick" = best description ever
Why, thank you, it’s very true. See, all of them were complex human beings, as it happens when you’re a person, and just because this is what I think doesn’t mean I’m saying they didn’t have layers or something like that. I’m just saying John was a very impatient person in my opinion. The reason why so many men of that time worshiped the ground he walked on was because he was somebody who didn’t hold back and said all those outrageous things they didn’t have the courage to say. So, of course they romanticized him, even though they failed to realize he didn’t quite get to say what he actually wanted, and a lot of it was simply bullshit.
The bottom line is that people can be more than one thing at the same time and we shouldn’t try to lock them in silly stereotypes. That’s what happened to them back then and they hated it. And as for Hogwarts houses, I do believe that as much as personality is involved, it counts more what a person values at the end of the day.
#anyway i still don't think what i said was any controversial#i also don't see how paul being sneaky is a tired narrative#i actually think being sneaky is not the top reason why he's a slytherin#he can also be a downright disaster#and the pr narrative is a silly thing considering how ruined he got by the press#still a slytherin to me tho#and john is still a gryffidnor#but like we can disagree honestly ??? i don't mind#i can explain more but it's gonna take me some time#Anonymous

Roxanne Weasley was thirteen years old, five foot two(and still growing), the Gryffindor daughter of two war heroes and the best prankster in all of Hogwarts, take that James.
She was quite proud of these facts, and wore them on her chest like they were badges.
But it’s not like anyone ever cared.
Everyone seemed more preoccupied with paying attention to her brother, Freddie. They all have this idea in their heads that he’s supposed to be a carbon copy of their Uncle Fred.
Which will never happen, she didn’t understand why they think he will be. Her family spent thirteen year with Freddie and his small, quiet smiles and they still thought he’d be anything like his namesake.
People will see his Ravenclaw tie and the book in his hand as he’ll sit quietly in the corner in the room and they frown.
They should not frown.
Freddie is Freddie and he’s perfect the way he was, just because he wasn’t like someone he never met doesn’t mean they should whisper behind his back with disappointed tones.
And because of the spotlight on her brother he didn’t even want, it meant that Roxanne was invisible, pushed to the side to favor her twin brother. It didn’t matter how genius a prank she pulled off. It didn’t matter how well she did in Charms. She would always be Roxanne Weasley, the forgotten twin.
Well, today Roxanne is going to kick that in the butt and pull the biggest prank she can.
Bigger than her dad and Uncle Fred, bigger than the Marauders, bigger than any prank ever done on the grounds of Hogwarts.
But first, she needed to sneak down to the Potions closet.
Roxanne tried to be discreet as she tiptoed out of Gryffidnor common room. James could not find out she was doing this, he would immediately want to join and her little cousin wasn’t a thing she wanted to deal with right now.
Luckily, she managed to keep quiet and was almost to the staircase, preparing to walk down it then—
Mreow!
Oh no.
Oh no.
“What is it?” She heard Mr. Filch called from down the hall.
Roxanne glanced over to see a shadow appear in the light from the torchlight at the end of the hallway.
Then booked it as fast and sneakily as she could.
She spotted an open door, running in and turning the doorknob so it wouldn’t make it sound as she closed it.
Roxanne waited a moment, listening until the echo of Filch's footsteps faded.
Once she heard no trace of them, she leaned away from the door and sighed.
That was a close one.
“oooooo, what was all that about?”
Roxanne shrieked and whipped her head around to see no one else in the dark room.
“Come on, don’t leave me hanging.”
She hoped she wasn’t going crazy
“That’s none of your business.” She said slowly.
“Well, then I’ll make it my business! There isn’t a lot going on on this neck of the Hogwarts halls, I gotta take what I can get.” The voice answered jovially. It was a more masculine voice, and weirdly, it sounded familiar to her.
Roxanne frowned, quickly drawing her want and muttered, “lumos.”
She hoped Filch wouldn’t see the light coming from the room she was hiding out in.
Roxanne moved her lit want towards the voice only to come face to face with her father.
Her breath stilled.
Because, one, it was a portrait, and two, it wasn’t exactly her father.
Yes, the man in the painting shared the same face, the same Weasley red hair, even the same freckles and nose. But he was way younger, and he had both years. And the smile on his face was more mischievous and carefree than her father.
Roxanne scrunched her eyebrows and glanced down to see a golden plague on the bottom of the portrait that said—
“Uncle Fred?!” She exclaimed with surprise.
Uncle Fred laughed, sound a bit startled, “I guess so, although I don’t recognize you. Which one of my siblings' little gremlins are you?”
“You’re going to have to guess,” Roxanne said, pretending she wasn't staring at her uncle in shock and a little bit of awe. She didn’t know he had a portrait at Hogwarts. Did Freddie? Did mum? Did dad?
At her nod, he hummed, “hmmm, let me guess, you can’t be Bill and Fleurs, I’ve already had a run in or two with their daughter. You are certainly not Percy’s! He’s an ol’ goody two-shoes and would have a heart attack seeing you sneak out in the middle of the night like you!”
Roxanne snorted, “his daughter would have a heart attack if she knew I snuck out tonight.”
They both laughed. She felt dazed, this was like a dream.
“I guess you could be Charlie’s kid? Though, I thought he’d never have kids, his dragons were his kids, they were more his family than we were!’
“He sends christmas cards of baby dragons every year,” she told him.
“Ha! Classic Charlie.” Fred examined her for a moment, contemplating his guess.
“I can’t place it. You got to be Ron or Ginnys kid right? You have a bit of their rebellious streak—“
“I’m George’s kid.” Roxanne interrupted hurriedly.
Fred blinked, looking like he was taken aback. His eyes soften as he look back at her with a sorta of melancholy look.
“Oh.” He said simply.
Roxanne fiddled with the bracelets stacked on her wrist, feeling put out by his reaction. Was he disappointed she was Georges daughter, did he think what everyone else thought, “oh there's Freddies sister, ignored her,” and he’ll ignore her even though all she wanted to do was talk to him?
“Yeah.” She eventually replied, to fill the silence.
“I can’t imagine him all grown up. Having kids and all that” Fred murmured.
And she took back her thoughts immediately.
Fred never grew up, he stayed 20 years old. In this portrait and in the minds of people who knew him. While his twin brother grew into a man, no longer looking identical to Fred.
Roxanne understood why he was so sad now.
“I can bring you family pictures if you’d like.” she offered, not really knowing what to say to him.
“Nah it’s fine,” Fred declined, waving his hand, “anyways, at least I kept my young handsome looks!”
She laughed, still noticting the weak way he said those words. She’ll ask her parents for pictures to send to her in her next letter.
“So, what's your name? George Jr.?”
“No! It’s Roxanne,” she said, still laughing.
“Nice to meet’cha, Roxanne. But, you never answered my question, what are you doing lurking around in the dark?”
Roxanne lit up, excited to talk about her greatest prank ever.
“So basically, I’m sneaking out to get some stuff from Potions so I can enchant the cups in the Great Hall so if anyone drinks anything from them their hair turns Gryffidnor red.”
Fred raised his eyebrows, “Wow, I’m impressed, that’s a high quality prank right there.”
She beamed with pride.
“I know! I was careful that no one found out because it was so genius! It’s going to be hilarious,” she deflated, “if people actually cared I did it.”
“Why wouldn’t they care? It’s going to be so funny!’ Fred said while smiling at her.
She folded her arms and looked down, “‘cause everyone wants Freddie to do stuff like that. Not me. Never me.”
He scrunched his eyebrows, “Freddie?”
“My brother.” She replied dimly.
Really, Roxanne loved her brother but it got old being pushed aside.
“And his name is—“
“Fredrick Gideon Weasley, my resident twin brother.”
Fred softened.
“He named his son after me,” he asked.
Roxanne sorta wanted to punch something, everything always became about Freddie. But the look on her uncle's face looked like he wanted to cry so she just smiled and nodded.
They fell silent, Roxanne looking around the room to see other portraits like Freds, except the people in them were sleeping. Thank Merlin the two of them didn’t wake them, it would have blown her cover immediately.
“But why would people be mad if you do this but not your brother?” Fred eventually asked, drawing her away from her thoughts.
“Because everyone wants Freddie to be like you,” she replied honestly,” he doesn’t do stuff like this. But everyone wants him to be Fred Weasley, fun prankster extraordinaire, not Freddie Weasley, the Ravenclaw who would rather sit in the library with a book. And because they were hooked on the fact he crushed their expectations, no one thinks I should be the prankster.”
She leaned on the wall opposite of Fred's painting, feeling tired all of a sudden, “so I’m just stuck trying to do something awesome no one will care as much as if James did it or Freddie just cracked a small joke.”
They fell into silence again until—
“Well, screw them, yeah?” Fred said.
Roxanne blinked, “what?”
“Screw them, you’re going to do a hysterical prank, and pull it off. It's going to be amazing so if people don’t care what you did, why do they matter? Because you’ll be proud of what you've done and that what matters the most, ey?”
The words warmed Roxanne's heart, making her feel ten times better. Her uncle was right, why do they matter to her? At the end of the day, she’s doing something she’s proud of, why does she care about being noticed?
“That was actually solid advice.” She replied, pretending his words didn’t affect her as strongly as it actually had.
“Well being a portrait for like a decade really does wonders for your wisdom, I can tell you the secrets to the universe now.” He said, winking at her.
She smiled, feeling more relaxed than she did before, then she looked back the the closed door.
“I better get going,” Roxanne announced sadly.
“Well, go on your way then, don’t want to be caught by Filch. I don’t know how that man’s still here.”
“I don’t think even McGonagall knows,” she said, slowly turning the doorknob until she opened it without a sound.
Roxanne looked back at the portrait of Fred and smiled, “have a nice night.”
He smiled back, “have a fantastic night, you better come back to tell me how the prank went or i’ll jump through all of Hogwarts paintings until I find you myself.”
“Maybe I’ll not come just so you do that.”
“Hey you better not!” He called to her as she slipped back into the hallway, a smile on her face and her heart feeling happy. She couldn’t wait to come back to tell Fred how it went.
(The prank was pulled off perfectly and all the Slytherins were sulking. She told Fred all about it, laughing together. And for the first time in a long while, Roxanne didn’t feel invisible anymore)

A Turning Point
Red
“Hmpf… What’s your favorite food?”
“Fish. You know that.” She grinned, “any kind really, fried fish or fancy seafood. I could always do for a nice grilled salmon.”
“I like pie, mincemeat, shepherds. Daisy makes a scrumptious cherry pie.”
“Cherry pie. Keeping up with the red theme huh?”
“I am a Gryffidnor after all.”
She was impulsive, a few glasses of champagne in her, and her stupid mouth spoke before she could stop it, “girls with red hair?”
“Absolutely.”

Cardigan- Cedric Diggory
Vintage tee, brand new phone High heels on cobblestones When you are young, they assume you know nothing
She would never forget the very first time she spoke to Cedric Diggory. She had been sorted into Gryffindor and he had been sorted into Hufflepuff, they'd seen each other around and even shared some classes but it was February of first year by the time they ever actually spoke.
She was best friends with George Weasley, she spent every waking moment with the twins, Angelina and Lee. The whole year knew of the little group and how inseparable they truly were, they'd gained the reputation of being funny pranksters and seemed to light up every room they went in.
To Cedric though, it hadn't been the group that lit up the rooms, it had been her. Her bright smile, her loud laughter. There was something about her that Cedric found impossible to ignore and he loved it. He was in an internal battle, on one hand he desperately wanted to speak to her, to know her, to be the reason she was laughing. On the other he was an 11 year old with a crush and was nervous.
He had decided automatically he was glad to talk to her though.
It was Saturday morning and he had been minding his own business, walking through the corridors to go and meet some friends after having been up to library to finish an essay and she had ran straight into him.
"Sorry, oh my merlin, I am so sorry," She speaks quickly, bending down to pick up the papers that she had knocked from her hands
"It's no bother," He smiles politely, his stomach full of butterflies when her hand brushes his. "I'm-"
"Cedric, sorry I'm not a creep I swear, we are in the same Charms class, you sit behind me" She cuts him off, he blushes brightly at her even acknowledging his existence.
"And Herbology," He smiles
"I'm-"
"Y/N, I know," it's her turn to blush and Cedric can feel his heart flip in his chest, she opens her mouth to say something but is interrupted by loud footsteps sprinting towards them
"LET'S GO Y/N! FILCH IS COMING!" Cedric isn't sure which twin it is, but they grab her hand and continue running, the girl is quick to join in turning back to shout over her shoulder
"Sorry again Cedric!" she calls, he stands dumbstruck with a look of awe in his eyes as he listens to her laughter grow faint as she rounds the corner.
Sequin smile, black lipstick Sensual politics When you are young, they assume you know nothing
Cedric doesn't work up the courage to speak to his crush again for a while. She simply isn't interested. At 11 years old she cared more for having fun with her friends, by 12 she's beginning to notice boys and sure enough she realises the Hufflepuff boy is cute but thinks nothing of it. At 13 she gets her first boyfriend, he's a Ravenclaw and her best friend hates him.
Cedric has his first kiss, he has girls that admit to fancying him and a few even catch his eye. None last though, because for every time he sees them he also sees her. Smiling and laughing with her friends and looking utterly ethereal.
It's when they're 14 that they next speak. It's their fourth year and Cedric is on his way back from quidditch practice when he hears a faint crying coming from an empty class room. Being kind to his very core he doesn't think twice about poking his head round the door to see if whoever is in there is okay. It's only the second day of the school year and he expects to find a scared first year.
His heart breaks though at the sight of her. She's crying into her hands and sniffling loudly, seeming to not even notice someone come in.
"Hi," he speaks gently, not wanting to startle her. She look up immediately and the sight twists the knife in his chest. Her eyes are puffy and red rimmed, her makeup streaking on her cheeks. She immediately pulls her hands to her face, trying to wipe her tears away with her hands.
"Hi Cedric," she tries to smile but it comes out more like a grimace
"Can I sit?" He questions softly, she nods and he sinks onto the floor next to her, his back against the wall.
"Sorry, I look all gross and snotty," she sighs, he chuckles a little
"You're beautiful," not one part of him is lying or trying to make her feel better. He truly believed her to be the most beautiful thing on the entire planet. "Do you want to talk about it?" he offers
"I-you- we don't know each other I'm not going to make you sit through all my problems,"
"Hey, I offered," He assures, gently placing a hand on her knee and giving it a little squeeze.
"You sure? it's a lot and-"
"I am certain,"
"My boyfriend, well I guess not anymore. He broke up with me because he started talking to Ella McKinley over summer and I really liked him and we've ben together for like seven months and I thought he liked me but obviously not and I can't even talk to my friends about it. Freddie and Lee would find the whole thing hysterical, not because they don't care, they just wouldn't get that it feels like I will never be good enough for anyone. Angelina is friends with Ella and I don't want to make things awkward for her. And Georgie, he's the best friend on the planet and he would do anything to make me happy but he was right the whole time and I can't bare the look of pity and he will just know that he was right but he won't say it because I am a pathetic, crying mess. Plus, Fred and George will go and try and fight him and everyone will talk about it and I just wish that I was enough cause I really liked him," She rants with tears streaming down her cheeks and Cedric wants nothing more than to take her pain and put in on himself a 1000 times before she ever has to feel it.
"Hey, you look at me," He prompts, gently moving her face from where she's staring at her lap to face him. "You are so much more than enough. You're beautiful, truly I mean that. And you are so funny and kind, I've never heard a soul speak badly of you, plus I'm in half your classes and you are at the top of all of them so clearly you are smart. Alex Mayfield is stupid for ever letting you go and I promise you he will regret it,"
She doesn't even think twice before diving into his chest to hug him, his heart warms in his chest as he holds her to him, stroking her back gently.
But I knew you Dancing in your Levi's Drunk under a streetlight, I
"Cedric?" Her voice sounds shy, three days later as she approaches his large friend group as they all laugh and chat in the courtyard. His friends all make loud 'oohs' at the girl approaching their friend, knowing he has had a crush on her forever.
He jumps to his feet immediately, only making his friends tease him more. "Hey, is everything alright?" He asks, it's been two days since he found her crying and he hadn't seen her around since.
"Yeah, yeah everything is fine. I just wanted to say thank you for the other day," She smiles gently and his heart melts that she had seeked him out rather than just saying it in whatever class they next saw each other.
"Oh of course, it was nothing," He smiles
"Well, i just, sorry that I cried all over you and- I- well it's embarrassing and you were so sweet so thanks," she blushes madly under his gaze
"It's fine, if ever I can do anything just let me know. Or if you need someone to talk to, I'm always around,"
"Thanks, and the same to you of course," She smiles and he nods. Neither of them can pull their eyes away from each other until Fred and George, who are waiting a small distance away let out loud barks of laughter at their friend's clear crush. "Right, well I should get going, have a good day," She smiles politely before turning around. He isn't quite sure what comes over him when he calls out to her
"Wait!" she turns immediately at his shout "You, uh, wouldn't want to be partners on that new Care of Magical Creatures assignment would you?" They had been assigned it on the first day, and it was a partnered essay and research task on Mooncalf's due in at the end of the month.
"Yeah I'd love that,"
"Great, I'll meet you in the library. Could you do tomorrow night right after classes finish?"
"Yeah, I'll see you there," She agrees, blushing slightly as she turns to walk back to the twins. Both Cedric and Emily's friends immediately begin to tease them but when she turns back to look at him and catches him already staring after her neither of them seem to care.
I knew you Hand under my sweatshirt Baby kiss it better, right
'You know, now that we have completed this ridiculously long essay we should celebrate. Hogsmeade? this Saturday?'
He had asked so casually, like it was easy. When in reality it had taken him a week to build up the nerve. She nodded, acting like her heart wasn't hammering inside her chest.
But now, as he waits at a table in the three broomsticks, he feels more anxious than he can even explain. She walks in, smiling brightly when she sees him, sat at a table with two butterbeers, and she seems so calm it puts his jittery leg at ease.
"Hey Ced,"
"Hi darling," He grins, watching her slide into the booth seat opposite him
"Am I late? Fred forced me to go to Zonko's with him, swore it'd only be two minutes but it was a lot longer," she explains
"No, I was early is all," He smiles, pushing the drink lightly in her direction
"Thanks," She grins, planning in her head to buy the next round. "So, good day so far?"
"Made better by you," he returns, he'd expected to feel awkward and nervous but in reality something about her felt so right, so natural.
"Well of course, clearly I am the highlight of your day every time you see me," She teases lightly
"Well I'm the same for you,"
"You are," She confirms. He beams at her and her heart somersaults in her chest. "How have we only just become friends this year?" She ponders
"I don't know, it feels like I have known you forever," He smiles
"Yeah it does. I guess that's just how it is with some people,"
"You know what they call those people? Soulmates," He teases and smiles a little when her cheeks flush a bright red
"If you are my soulmate Diggory, I could do a lot worse,". It was true, she felt like he could so easily be that one person she was supposed to meet. He was natural, he was charming, he was funny, he made her feel so at ease. She never had to be someone else, never had to think for a second about what she said. Cedric just got her and it was the best thing she had ever experienced.
And when I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone's bed You put me on and said I was your favourite
"Ced!" She's positively beaming as she stands on Hogsmeade platform after the Christmas holiday's. Pushing her way through the crowd towards the boy and leaping into his arms, he catches her with ease, rearranging his hands a little to hold her up better, her legs wrapping around his waist. His friends pay them no mind as they walk towards the carriages knowing they will see him at dinner and he would much rather have a minute alone with her.
"What're you doing here?" he chuckles
"I missed you," she shrugs
"I missed you too, but I could have just seen you at school, you didn't have to come and pick me up from the station," He smiles at her and she blushes a little. She had spent her holiday at school with the Weasley's as Molly and Arthur were in Bulgaria with Charlie and she hadn't wanted to miss out on her friends antics.
"Yeah, but if I had done that then I would have had to wait until after the welcome back feast and it would have been ages," She explains
"Well in that case, I'm glad you came. I really missed you darling," He smiles, gently placing her back onto the ground
"I missed you too, I was actually thinking a lot when you were gone-" she admits
"That's dangerous," he teases, laughing when she gently swats his arm
"I was thinking that I think I like you, as in more than a friend. No. I know, I like you as more than a friend and I have for a while now and I just wanted you to know that I do. You don't have to like me back and if you don't then I don-"
She's cut off when he slams his lips against hers. Pulling her flush against him. He kisses her with so much passion and longing that she doesn't doubt for a second that he likes her just as much. He smirks when he pulls away and her lips chase his to press another quick peck to them.
"I like you too, I have for an embarrassingly long amount of time, I just didn't want to rush you after what happened with Alex,"
"You could never rush me, it's you," she smiles and he feels his heart leave his body and fall right into her hands.
"So, you wanna go on a real date?" he questions, wrapping his arm around her shoulder as he begins to lead her towards the carriages back up to school.
"I would love that," She grins
"In that case, I will pick up tomorrow at 8," He announces, pressing a kiss to the top of her head as they walk.
A friend to all is a friend to none Chase two girls, lose the one When you are young, they assume you know nothing
"I have just had the most awkward interaction of my life," She announces, walking into his dorm to find him sat at his desk. She drops onto his bed as he turns to look at her
"Hi darling," He smiles
"Hey," she grins back, eyes unable to pull away from his
"None of this romantic gooey shit, what happened?" Cedric's best friend, Justin, questions from his own desk. The pair clearly having been doing work before she arrived.
"Right," she nods, pulling her eyes away from Cedric as she tugs her Gryffindor tie off her neck and settles more comfortably on his bed. "So, i'm walking with George, Fred and Lee out of detention, planning on coming here and they were heading into town to pick up some supplies from Zonko's so we are walking, minding our own business and then out of literally no where Alex pops out,"
"As in your ex-boyfriend?" Justin question, fully immersed in her story. She glances at Cedric who's jaw is a little tight, but softens when their eyes meet.
"Yeah so he comes over and asks to talk to me, and you can imagine Lee and Fred think it's fucking hilarious and George looks ready to pummel the boy, which is nothing new he's always hated him,"
"Likes me," Cedric comments slightly cockily, he knew from the off that it was important George liked him.
"He does. So anyway, I'm like Sorry I am in a rush to meet my boyfriend, which only seems to make him want to speak to me more. So he's all like how long have you and Cedric been together and I'm like officially 2 months. And he asks like a million questions about us and then tries to invite me to Hogsmeade and I was like obviously not, at this point George hits him and then we just kinda ran away. It was just very uncomfy and awkward,"
Cedric looks like he is absolutely fuming, Justin on the other hand is laughing at the awkward situation. Cedric is, of course, glad that she immediately told him but was ready to hunt the stupid boy down and finish what George started. He stands up to do just that but stops when she grabs his hand and pulls him to sit next to her, pressing a kiss to his cheek. He sighs, his thumb stroking the back of her hand, knowing that she's asking him to leave it be.
But I knew you Playing hide-and-seek and Giving me your weekends
"Hey, do you guys know where y/n is?" Cedric questions Angelina and Lee when he sees them sat in the library
"Thought she was with you," Angelina shrugs, looking to Lee who looks equally surprised to see Cedric without his girlfriend wrapped in his arm
"She was, we were playing hide and seek but it's been like forty minutes and I can't find her,"
"She'll be in the broom cupboard next to Filch's office. She always hides there when we play," Lee comments
"Great, thanks," with a grin Cedric disappears out of the library and in the direction of Filch's office. He sends polite smiles and waves to friends he passes but doesn't stop for a chat, missing his girl's presence and wanting her back by his side.
He arrives at the cupboard, pulling the door open and stepping in. It was a deep cupboard filled with clutter and her giggle sounds through the air when he trips on a bucket, hand reaching out from the darkness to steady him.
He reaches out and pulls her into his chest, arms wrapping around her and pulling her into him.
"Found you,"
"Took your precious time," she smirks,
"It's a big castle," He reminds, pressing his lips down onto hers, she kisses back immediately, arms looping around his neck as his grip her waist, tucking slightly under the jumper she's wearing that clearly belongs to him and is too big for her, his thumb stroking gently on the skin of her hips.
She pulls away, breathless and grinning up at him and if he had thought he was in love before he was certain of it now. When she looked so pure, so beautiful, so ethereal how could he not be? the truth was he had been falling for her since first year but his five months with her made it all the more real. He wasn't just in love with an idealistic version of her he had made up in his head, it was the real her. The her that only he knew.
"Which of my friends told you?"
"You underestimate my seeking skills," He feigns offence, and she laughs at his dramatics
"It was Angelina right? The boys would never help you cheat,"
"It was. Now, given I've found you I think I am entitled to a reward, winners choice," He smirks and she grins brightly
"At what might that be?"
"Cuddles," He announces
"We need to study," she counters
"Nope, not on a weekend. Cuddle me in my dorm please. You can't say no, I found you," He grins, he knows though, that she wouldn't say no anyway.
I, I knew you Your heartbeat on the High Line Once in twenty lifetimes, I
They lay under the stars in the astronomy tower Cedric was certain that this, this very moment, was the highlight of his life. When all was said and done she would be it. She would be what made it all worth it.
"You okay?" She asks, nudging her head into his chest gently as she lay on him
"I'm perfect. Are you?" he questions, looking down at her laid on her front between his legs, arms wrapped around his waist and head on his chest
"I am," she grins, moving her head to rest her chin on his chest and look up at him "you're quiet," she comments
"I'm thinking," He returns gently, eyes holding hers and arms wrapping around her, holding her tightly too him
"and here I was thinking you were just a pretty boy," she teases, he laughs and she would swear on anything that lit up by the moonlight Cedric Diggory was a god amongst men. "So pretty boy, what are you thinking about?"
"You," he grins
"Nothing new," she jokes, he rolls his eyes but says nothing, after all she isn't wrong.
"Do you think everyone gets to feel like this?" he questions, she tilts her head to the side silently asking him to explain what he means. "I just- it sounds crazy but this feels so much bigger than just love. Like I can't even describe, it doesn't even feel once in a lifetime it feels once in a million lives. I can't put into words how I feel for you, I more than love you, I so much more than love you,"
"I so much more than love you too," She smiles, leaning up to press her lips against his, he kisses back and it's so soft and so gentle yet somehow needy and passionate all at once. Every kiss they share felt amazing but they would both swear that was the best. "And no, I don't think everyone gets this, I think we are incredibly lucky to have found each other,"
He smiles pulling her closer to him pressing a kiss to the top of her head and his heart has never been more full.
And when I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone's bed You put me on and said I was your favourite
"So, tell me how your summer was?" She grins at him as they make their way down the train in search of her friend's compartment
"I was with you for most of it," He teases. They had spent the first two weeks at her house and then second two at his before she had gone to spend the final two at the burrow.
"I haven't seen you in 14 whole days Ced," she reminds
"My life is entirely boring without my favourite person," he smiles, chuckling at the blush that overtakes her cheeks. She presses a kiss to his cheek before pulling open the compartment door
"There they are, we were starting to think you were never coming," Angelina smiles, jumping up from her seat to pull her friend into a hug
"Sorry, we got caught up talking to Justin," The girl explains
"Ah, so that's what the kids are calling it," Fred jokes, laughing at the bright blush that over takes both of their faces. "Well, I was kidding but-"
"Shut up Fred!" She groans, dropping into a seat as Cedric settles down next to her, talking happily with George about their summer breaks.
To kiss in cars and downtown bars Was all we needed You drew stars around my scars But now I'm bleeding
Their fifth year passes insanely quickly. It's full of laughter and happiness. They don't have drama like most of their friends in relationships, they understand each other on such a level that truly there's no need to argue because no matter what the other does they understand. Understand exactly why the other has behaved in the way that they had so there was no point in getting mad.
From trips to Hogsmeade, parties, studying and evenings in the prefects bathroom they saw each other every day. Adopting each other's friends as their own. All they needed was each other and they were having a good time. They were connected at their very cores and the whole school seemed to know it.
"Okay, never have I ever lost my virginity in the prefects bathroom," Angelina smirks, the Gryffindor friends are sat around the boys dorms with bottles of fire whiskey on the final evening of term, joined as was common now, by Cedric and Justin.
Cedric sits next to her, his hand resting on her thigh and her head on his shoulder as they both blush a little before drinking.
"You told me it was in your dorm cause you were classy!" Lee exclaims, pointing at her with wide eyes.
"If you believed she was classy it's on you Lee," Fred teases, laughing loudly when she launches a pillow across the room and it hit's him with ease.
"Never have I ever said I love you just to get laid," Justin states, smirking when both Fred and Lee take sips of the drinks.
"Mum will be disappointed," George teases
"Would be, will makes it sound like you plan on telling her,"
"I'll have it up my sleeve for if I need to redirect the rath on someone else,"
"Hey, we always put it on Ron," Fred whines, the rest of the group laughing as they didn't doubt for a second that was true.
"Never have I ever skinny dipped in the black lake," George grins, the group erupting in laughter when Fred drinks
"Okay 1 it was a dare and 2 you aren't allowed to target people, in this game"
"Oh, because never have I ever accidentally grabbed the wrong person's hand wasn't targeted," George quips back.
'Cause I knew you Stepping on the last train Marked me like a bloodstain, I
"I just think that you're being stupid," she admits, she is sat cross legged on his bed as he paces his dorm
"This is something I really want to do, it means a lot to me. The money could really help my family out and I really think this is something I could excel in," Cedric explains, he isn't mad. He knew that she was only concerned because she cared and therefore he would never be mad at her for it, he also knew she loved and supported him unconditionally and that wether she agrees with him or not that wouldn't waver.
"It's reckless Ced, people die in this tournament and I just hate the idea of you doing this cause all your friends have told you how cool it'll be and something happens to you,"
"Hey, nothing will happen to me. I'm not stupid and I know my own limits, you can pull out of any round at any time and if I think I can't do it I won't stay in a dangerous situation," he assures her, sitting down next to her and taking her hands in his.
"I know, I just want you safe,"
"Darling, you don't have to worry for a second. I promised you forever and I am going to give you it," he assures her, pulling her hands to his mouth and pressing kisses on her knuckles.
"Okay. If it means a lot to you then obviously I support you, just promise me you aren't going anywhere,"
"I promise," He agrees.
And so, with his friends behind them and wrapped up in his arms, his promise of forever fresh in her mind she goes with him to drop his name into the goblet of fire, pushing away the feeling in her gut that this was the worst mistake they'd ever make.
I knew you Tried to change the ending Peter losing Wendy
Cedric feels his breath stop when he sees her. She looks like an angel, standing at the top of the stairs beaming down at him. The pale blue satin of her dress pooling delicately around her feet and her hair curled and pinned back.
"You look so beautiful," he smiles as she reaches for his arm at the bottom of the stairs
"So do you," She smiles, and she meant it, in his black dress robes she wonders how she's supposed to breathe when he looks so good. "Ced?"
"Yes, darling?" he looks down at her as they stand in the line with the other victors. His smile so pure and delicate and a look of adoration in his eyes, not one person looking at them would question the love he held for her.
"These heels are really high, please don't let me trip and fall and make an idiot of myself,"
"I've got you darling, I promise," he smiles, pressing a kiss to the side of her head as the doors swing open and along with the rest of the victors and their dates they parade to the dance floor.
And he did have her. They danced and he made sure she was okay the whole time. They danced the whole night, wether the song was fast or slow, they were attached in someway and staring at each other so purely and utterly in love. It was the best night of either of their lives and although they didn't say it, both of them thought as they slow danced about the day they would get to do this at their wedding.
I, I knew you Leaving like a father Running like water, I When you are young, they assume you know nothing
Cedric is panting and red from the cold water as he collapses onto the platform, having pushed her onto it first. He feels for the first time since he saw her floating lifeless at the bottom of the lake that he can breathe again as he sees her appear fine.
He blocks out the screaming crowds, his victory although exciting, nowhere near as important to him as the girl.
She however, seems utterly over the moon, pouncing on him and tackling him on the pier in the tightest hug he'd ever received.
"You did it Ced! You won!" She grins brightly, he's vaguely aware of the twins wrapping them both in towels but doesn't care. Nothing else in the world matters as he grabs her face in his hands, pressing his lips to hers and the whole world floats away, and it's just her and him.
She pulls away eventually, seemingly remembering the crowd's of people watching, he doesn't care though, wrapping his arm around her as his friend's push through the crowds to congratulate him. He doesn't let go of his grip on her for even a second, he wanted her to be a part of this, without her he could never have won, seeing her lifeless and floating had triggered something in him he didn't even know existed. He'd have done whatever it took to save her.
but I knew you'd linger like a tattoo kiss I knew you'd haunt all of my what-ifs The smell of smoke would hang around this long 'Cause I knew everything when I was young
The day of the last trial she woke up with a gut feeling something bad was going to happen. She said nothing though, not wanting to panic Cedric.
She woke up wrapped in his arms and she almost asked him to stay in bed for just five more minutes. Just to hold her for a little while longer, looking back she would always regret not asking for that. Instead, she had sat wrapped in his duvet, watching as he got ready and listening patiently as he spoke, muttering every spell he could think of in a mindless preparation, no idea what he would actually need when he started.
She sat next to him at breakfast, holding his hand under the table in an attempt to calm him down, he was trying to act confident for his excited friends but she saw right through it. She only left his side for a brief moment all morning, to wish Harry Potter, a young boy she knew well due to her close relationship with the Weasley's, good luck.
"You should go and meet your dad to walk to the victor's area," she speaks softly, they're in an empty corridor, wanting a moment of privacy.
"You'll be down there?" he questions
"Of course I will," she assures. He nods, wrapping his arms around her waist as hers wrap around his neck. He nestles his face in her as her fingers comb gently through his hair.
"I'm scared," he whispers
"I know," she replies gently, pulling away only enough to look him in the eyes "Whatever happens, wether you come first or drop out after a minute, I am so beyond proud of you Ced,"
"Thankyou," He hums gently
"You be safe alright, you promised me forever,"
"I never break my promises," he assures her, his lips find hers in a final passionate kiss.
"I so much more than love you," she whispers against him
"I so much more than love you," he returns, pressing a quick peck to her lips, squeezing her tight one last time before letting go.
She sits next to George, her leg bouncing and hands shaking as she leans on his shoulder. She watches as he talks to his dad. It feels like the world is going in slow motion as he stands outside the entrance to the maze, eyes scanning the crowd until they fall on her. She can see from a mile away that he seems to ease slightly at the sight of her, sending her a smile before turning and entering the maze.
I knew I'd curse you for the longest time Chasing shadows in the grocery line I knew you'd miss me once the thrill expired And you'd be standing in my front porch light
She knew she would never forget the moment it happened. The pure joy and adrenaline, the excitement because he had won. Cedric had won. Followed by the panic, because he isn't moving and why isn't he moving? why is Harry crying and-
The world stopped. Right there. Right then. The world stops spinning on it's axis.
She would never forget the feeling of George's hands pulling her back and into his chest, refusing to let her turn and see it. See his limp body on the ground and lifeless. She'd never forget the sound of Amos's cries. She would never forget Harry's screams.
Her very world stopped.
She couldn't breathe. She couldn't move. She couldn't speak.
George Weasley would never forget the moment either. The ache in his chest that his friend had died. The sound of her sobs, so guttural and heart wrenching that they take over her whole body. The feeling of his best friend shaking in his arms and the pained scream that leaves her mouth.
She was vaguely aware of the feeling of George lifting her off the ground and carrying her away from the crowds. Vaguely aware of him placing her on her bed. Without thinking she moved to grab one of Cedric's jumpers from her wardrobe, crying even harder when his smell takes over her as she pulls it on, dropping to her knees unable to even stand. George drops down next to her, pulling her into his chest in a tight hug as she cries into his chest.
And I knew you'd come back to me You'd come back to me And you'd come back to me And you'd come back
George Weasley had felt his heart drop when he had read the letter from his old head of house, a desperate plea to come to the school immediately and he had dropped everything to do just that.
His best friend was never the same after Cedric. Not even 10 years after at the age of 27. He wasn't who he used to be either, he had lost his second half. But he worried more for her. Her smile hadn't met her eyes since she was 17. He hadn't heard her laugh since she was 17.
Despite it all she never spoke to George, to anyone, about it. She left a room when he was mentioned. She refused to open up. It was clear even now he was the only thing she thought about. She refused though, to talk about him.
She hadn't dated again until she was 25, settling for a quiet boy who didn't get the chance to fall in love with her, because truly she wasn't her. She was numb, a shadow of herself and he didn't even know it.
As George pushed open the door to the prefects bathroom, he knew it would be another moment he would never forget. Like her scream, his Fred's body on the ground, like Angelina telling him we would be a father.
She was sat, fully clothed, in the large bubble bath. Silent tears streamed down her face and George could only describe the look on her face as numb.
"He proposed," She announces. George doesn't know how to react. He knew she would never fall in love again, that in reality she would never want this. Because it wasn't him.
"What did you say?"
"No," She whispers out, George lets out a sigh, he doesn't think twice as he climbs into the water next to her, ignoring that it's ruining his suit as he pulls her into him.
"George, I can't do this. He promised me forever, it was supposed to be him," She's crying into his shoulder and George knows nothing he says will take the pain away. "He was the love of my life. I didn't just love him, it was more than that. It wasn't once in a lifetime it was different it was special it was-" she cuts herself off, not knowing the words to describe it. She had never needed them before, Cedric had known without her having to say.
"I know. We all know. Everyone could see it,"
"I know what people must think. He was my high school boyfriend and I should move on but Georgie- I can't. It was him and it is him and he promised he would come back,"
"No one thinks that. You were young but the heavens know you were in love,"
"He was everything. He still is. He always will be,"
And when I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone's bed
You put me on and said I was your favourite
