hey, no worries at all about venting in the tags of... your reblog of my reblog of your post, lol!! as i mentioned, i was trying to find a completely different old post by someone else, and then ended up seeing your post in my search and i just feel that it's a great explanation of some of the issues that i have with the ending. i can totally understand why people who like the idea behind the ending and what the writers were trying to say with it want to defend it, to an extent, but i agree with you that they just didn't successfully say that. which only makes me more frustrated with the ending than i imagine i would've been otherwise. and i'm sorry people have been trying to group you in with frozen 2 haters when you didn't want to be seen that way! and to me, the posts of yours that i've read about the movie (including the one i reblogged that prompted this ask) never came off that way either. you always seemed like someone who had your issues with it and criticisms of it, but could also still see positives in it and things to celebrate about it.
Thank you for sending me this message. I apologize for not replying for a day; life got a bit busy.
Looking back on my old discussions of F2, I feel I was hamstrung by not wanting to make my friends angry. I have friends who are fans of F2 and, while I wrote those posts, I was cripplingly scared that they would stop being friends with me, or unfollow me, or dismiss my critiques as mere negativity. In fact, my fears were justified. Some of these people DID unfollow me and DID tell me I was being overwhelmingly negative. This broke my heart - especially because I spilled so much ink trying to balance every negative I discussed with a positive and celebrating the good elements, but it felt like it didn't matter. It didn't matter how anxious I was to be understood, it didn't matter that I was writing in good faith. And that hurt.
I also feel that I was intimidated by the extreme sides of the fandom. If, for example, I wrote a post criticizing Elsa's arc, anti-Elsa people could jump on it and say, "See, this is why Elsa is a bad sister."
So that's why, in my vent, I said I was too kind to the film. I was so constricted by being terrified of other people's reactions - terrified of having an unpopular opinion. So I qualified all my statements with, "Of course, I don't mean to be overly negative" instead of just focusing on my points.
I just want to shake people sometimes when they tell me the point of the film and say, "They followed through on their intent with very poor execution. They DIDN'T DO the things you are saying they did. They tried, but there are scores of reasons why they did not succeed - reasons that go beyond my personal preference, that have to do with characterization, pacing, story structure, etc."
It hurts because... I feel like, in the past, I tried to force myself to like the film more than I do. I've wanted to like it for years, but the last time I put it on I broke down crying and not in a good way and I just... I wish it worked. I wish that all the various thematic threads coalesced into an emotionally satisfying whole. And I know that, because of my emotional response, people might just dismiss all my discussion - no matter how nuanced I am, no matter how fair towards the film I am in my analysis, as, "Well, you're biased from the start."
No. I've spent years trying to see all sides, empathizing with a variety of people in the fandom, sometimes even at my own expense. I do value the parts of F2 that work and acknowledge the beauty of various elements including Anna and Elsa bonding with the Northuldra, the anticolonialist themes, The Next Right Thing, and more.
But at the same time, I argue that my case against other aspects of the film is robust, cohesive, and correct.
And to the friends that can see I am writing not to be a hater, but in good faith with actual analysis and discussion in mind - you mean the world to me. Thank you.
Sorry, this became kind of a vent in itself.

🌸 — PINNED.
Welcome to KRP 1x1 Finder! We aim to help roleplayers find partners with similar interests in activity, plots, ships, and so on. Please note this blog caters only to KRP. Read the rules / guidelines and suggested submission details below before submitting. Failure to follow the rules will lead to your submission being deleted. This blog is affiliated with @krpmessages 🌸 * Rules updated 09/03/23.
RULES / GUIDELINES.
We only allow submissions searching for 1x1 partners. No directories, no groups, no servers, as there are already blogs dedicated to those.
Requests may only be submitted through the ask box or submission box. Any requests sent through DMs will be ignored.
We do not accept submissions or blog-follows from users under 18 years of age. By submitting to or following this blog, you agree that you are 18 years of age or older. If your ad states that you allow minors to contact and roleplay with you, it will not be published.
Ads on this blog may potentially contain content or themes you find distasteful or uncomfortable. We do not police fictional content and we highly advise that you block trigger warning tags. The only things we do NOT allow in ads are adult/minor relationships, pedophilia, and requests to roleplay as/with underaged idols.
We allow requests for general/idolverse plots, fandomless/original plots, and AU/fandom-based plots. Please specify what you’re looking for.
Be as clear as possible with what you’re looking for, especially in regard to your preferred dynamics, genres, platforms, ships, etc.
As of 09/23, you are now required to state which Korean celebrities you write as or use as faceclaims. The admin are not versed with every single celebrity in the Korean industry, so it's required that you include what group they're currently in or if they're a soloist, an actor, a model, etc.
For NSFW requests, if you’re sending your ad through the ask box, keep it vague or it will not be posted. If you want to be explicit and/or list kinks, then you must use the submit box so that the admin can place the information under a read-more.
When it comes to requests for dark material, do not censor triggers or your ad will not be posted. Censoring the words interferes with people who have these words blocked. For example, do not write ‘dr*gs’, but instead write the full word ‘drugs.’ If sending your ad through the ask box, keep it vague. If you want to be explicit, then use the submit box.
We delete ads after one month in order to keep things current. If it has been more than a month and your request has been deleted, you are more than welcome to send in another one.
Please do not send your ad in more than once a week. If we recognize your ask/submission and it has been less than a week since your last one, we reserve the right not to post it. We are specifically referring to ads from the same user asking for the same thing. Ads from the same user that are requesting something different are acceptable.
The admin do their best to get ads posted within 24 hours, but some days we may not be able to due to personal commitments away from this blog. If your ad has not been posted within 48 hours, you are welcome to send it again in case it was eaten. Please also read over your ad to make sure you didn't break or miss any rules.
Please stick to the default font size when sending your ad. You can add bold, italics, color, or emoji as long as the ad is still readable, but refrain from using small font for aesthetics so that everyone can comfortably read the ads.
If you are looking for dark or NSFW roleplay, check your account settings to make sure that you can see posts marked mature. You won’t be able to see your own ad if your settings are not set up correctly.
We are not the police. We are not HR. We are not your parents. If you have issues with a roleplay partner, we cannot intervene to solve them for you. Please do not message us with callout posts, warnings for others, or requests for others to block the person you had problems with. Unpleasant things happen online, especially in the roleplay community. Learn to block and move on.
With that last rule being said, we ask that everyone please be respectful toward your fellow roleplayers. We are all here for the same thing and that is to write. Treat others how you want to be treated. Learn how to communicate civilly.

Random AO3 Points
I've noted the fandom is really still getting used to AO3 from what I can tell so I wanted to point out some things new users may not know and that I've picked up on from years on the site under various usernames and from interacting a lot with other writers/readers from other fandoms. For readers and writers.
For Readers
You can only give kudos to a fic once. So if you've given one on the first chapter of a story, you won't be able to do it again per chapter. Consider comments as a way to give feedback.
Collections are largely meant for events like challenges (big bangs, exchanges, etc), not for collecting your favorite stories. An unrevealed collection's purpose is usually to keep works concealed only until the challenge is over. If an author permits you to put a story in a collection and you mark it unrevealed for any variety of reasons, you wind up hiding that work from the rest of AO3 until the author either removes it or you reveal the collection again.
Instead of using collections use Bookmarks! It's a great way to find your favorite fics and you can make notes in them -- like memorable plot points, how you feel about it, or even a mention of where you left off reading. Please note, there are private bookmarks and public bookmarks. If you use a public bookmark, the author (and site) can see what you wrote about the story.
The archive is precisely that: an archive. Not a social media site. Why is this important? Because if you are looking for a fic or fic recs or to request a fic, you should not be doing it on AO3. Yes, in certain fandoms you'll come across "stories" that are someone looking to make requests, take requests, or looking for a story. The majority of AO3 users will report these and while it might take a while because their support team is made of volunteers, just don't do it.
Download your favorite stories. At any given moment an author could leave AO3 for any reason. You can download from AO3 in a multitude of formats, including PDF and various epubs to read on your devices. However, if an author deletes their work and you have it saved you cannot repost it and should only share it privately and even then do so in a way that is respectful of the creator's wishes if they had any.
For Writers
First of all: Engagement takes a while on the website, don't get discouraged.
Your kudos refresh in real time, your hits refresh every 30 minutes, so if you see your hits are 5 and your kudos are 6, it isn't a bug -- something isn't wrong. The system is catching up. Similarly, hits are measured within windows of time by visitor, so if some reads all 10 chapters of your completed fic, it will count as 1 hit and not 10.
Similarly to above, do not use a post to take requests. The archive is limited to fannish/transformative work. Use your Tumblr or Twitter to take requests or eventually it will get reported.
Placeholders similarly are not for AO3. An influx of Wattpad users have lead to people describing their story idea in a few sentences and posting it without any story written -- maybe to gain interest or maybe misunderstanding and thinking there is an algorithm they need to tap into for their fic to be found. Both are bad practice and will be reported and removed if there is nothing fannish/transformative in them.
There are mixed feelings when it comes to one-shot "books" -- or rather, one story where each chapter is a one-shot. In general, AO3 readers who have used the site for a long time will prefer them grouped by some kind of common theme -- such as the main pairing. When searching on the site, people like to look for certain things and filter them out -- so having a 50 chapter story of 50 individual one-shots with 50 different couples and individual tags is a nightmare and many users will skip past them since they can't discern what they're getting. Plus, you'll limit yourself in terms of hit count because of the aforementioned reason about hits refreshing.
A series is generally a better place to group things together, because people can still search out and filter out tags and things they do not want from your works page. I advise to only do a series if there is still a common theme. I have done them for things like requests and drabbles but only because I was uploading them all at once when I made my transition. In hindsight, I probably would have just made them separate one-shots but do like that anyone who made a request can go to those two series at once.
You cannot link to your Ko-fi, Patreon, or anything else that solicits for money for your work. You can, however, link to your social media site like Tumblr and if your Ko-fi/Patreon link is posted there, that's fine.
Utilize work skins for fun, visual and interactive elements. Tutorials do exist on AO3 and also Tumblr for the coding as AO3's CSS capabilities are limited.
Do not put in your author's notes, tags, or summary that if you don't get comments, you won't update.
Avoid being too self-deprecating with your summary and tags. I know tongue and cheek we're sometimes like "I suck at summaries" or "I don't know what to tag this" but it is better to make an effort and attract a reader than not give them enough to go on.
Tag appropriately. Especially for potentially triggering topics. For other things, ask yourself "is there enough of X in this story where if someone were looking for a story about it, they would be satisfied. If it's a consistent theme, tag it. If it's one character who appears for half a scene in a 20 chapter WIP, you can skip it.
Archive warnings: Use them. If you are writing about something that might be triggering to others but want to avoid warning for it to avoid spoiling your plot, you can choose the "Choose Not To Use Archive Warnings" and any reader should know that they could be getting into something. I personally like to just provide warnings because I would rather let people know and avoid them getting invested/turning them off. But the "choose not to warn" exists for a reason and you are within your rights to use it.
"Dead Dove: Do Not Eat" is not a catchall for any triggering topic. It's origins are from a television show and it was originally meant to essentially mean "does what it says on the tin, so don't be surprised with what you get." In other words, if you work includes non-con, graphic smut, various kinks, or elements that are an "acquired taste" you should not use the dead dove tag in lieu of those tags to describe a dark!fic. You should use it in combination with the appropriate tags as a way of saying "This really is what I say it is, so get involved at your own risk."
I'm sure I'll think of other things and come back and add to this eventually. If you, an AO3 user, disagrees with what I've said here, as I mentioned this is from my experience and a lot of time spent on subreddits and talking to other authors both in and out of the fandom. So feel free to make your own recommendations in your own post so newer users can get their own feel for how the archive functions for multiple people and craft their own experience while still being in line with the AO3 TOS.

Use Messaging: If you feel comfortable, reach out to users via Tumblr's messaging feature. Start a conversation about shared interests or something you enjoyed about their posts.
Create Original Content: Share your own art, writing, or thoughts. Original content can attract followers who appreciate your work, and you might find others eager to engage.
Engage with Ask Boxes: If you follow someone with an open ask box, consider asking them questions. This can lead to more personal interactions and friendships.
Attend Virtual Meetups: Some communities organize virtual hangouts or discussions. Joining these can help you meet people in a more casual setting.
Be Yourself: Authenticity attracts genuine connections. Share your thoughts and interests openly to find others who resonate with you.
By actively participating and being open to new connections, you can build a network of friends on Tumblr that share your passions!
Tumblr is a microblogging platform that offers a diverse range of communities and interests. Here's how you can use it to find your people and make friends:
1. Explore Topics:
Search: Use the search bar to find blogs related to your interests. For example, if you're into anime, search for "anime" or specific anime titles.

Tumblr Challenges: Many Tumblr users participate in challenges, such as "Draw This in Your Style" or "Write a Poem." Join in these challenges to meet new people and showcase your talents.
Fandom Events: If you're into fandoms, look for events or meetups organized by fans. These can be a great way to meet like-minded people in person.
5. Be Yourself and Have Fun:
Authenticity: Be true to yourself and share your genuine interests. People are more likely to connect with you if you're authentic.
Positive Attitude: A positive and friendly attitude will attract like-minded people.
Have Fun: Tumblr is a platform for expression and enjoyment. Don't be afraid to have fun and experiment with different content.
By following these tips, you can effectively use Tumblr to find communities, make friends, and discover a world of new interests.
Would you like me to help you find some Tumblr communities based on your interests?
To help me narrow down the best Tumblr communities for you, please tell me a bit about your interests. What topics or fandoms do you enjoy? Here are some examples to get you started:
Hobbies: (e.g., art, photography, writing, gaming, music)
Interests: (e.g., anime, movies, books, nature, technology)
Fandoms: (e.g., Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel, Supernatural)
The more specific you can be, the better I can tailor my suggestions.

Call me J, J Sanguine, or J Ayọ̀-Yímiká

you know what, here's some tumblr tips from a veteran :)
if you use desktop, you can customize your theme as much as you want! this isn't as hard as it sounds, due to the fact that NUMEROUS people make themes for free use. theme-hunter is a good starting point, if you wanna do that
blocking and filtering is a god sent. you can filter tags under settings, specifically filtered tags, or filtered post content. the first filters by tag only, the second by post content (so if someone doesn't tag a certain word, that'll catch it)
there's honestly not really any rules to tumblr? if you wanna reblog a bunch, go for it! if you wanna keep that to a sideblog, and only post art here, go ahead! your blog is pretty much for you. so post whatever you want!
blocking people. good
there's no real follow back thing, which i know was huuuuge on twitter. so if someone starts posting stuff you don't want to see, you can just unfollow them! people do not care
if you want to follow more people, i highly recommend doing some tag scrolling! just search for something you're into (a fandom, art, cooking, etc etc) and check out a bunch of blogs! personally, i love scrolling the tags, though i can be a real hazard- but! that's where tag filtering comes in too
you can turn off anon, or just asks in general, as you want. you can also turn them back on! basically, if people starts being dicks, you can just remove their ability to do so at you entirely
don't censor words! this is both because that makes it harder for people to filter them, and also because a lot of us finds it super silly
however!! tumblr's search function is. pretty broken, so if you complain about a ship, or groups of people, it's probably a good idea to censor it in some form. especially with ships, because the post will then show up in the ship's tag, which. not what anyone wants!
the original poster of a post can see anything you add to their post. this includes tags. so while it's generally a good idea not to be a jerk in the tags, they are also for your benefit, and is generally used as a mix of comment section and organization tool. though even that is up to the individual
honestly, tumblr is super laid back and really customizable. you aren't forced to see anything you don't want, and you're entirely in control of your experience here! the best way to keep in touch with the 'community' as a whole is what's on trending, but even that is easy to avoid, if that's what you want
basically, just post what you want, tag it if you want people to see, and vibe! unlike twitter, this is more of a fan space, so while there's no real way to like, make business connections, it's a lot more chill
hope you enjoy your stay, and that at least one of these tips will be helpful! ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
Sharing this coz I find it really useful, thank you so much anon!

Im probably gonna get a lot of hate. Im probably gonna get death threats in my ask box (again. Yes Im looking at you "kill the soldiers" anon. Speaking of which, anon will be OFF until this post stops getting notifs. Block me if you don't want to see any other opinions than you own, because I'm allowed to have them.)
Rest of PSA is below the cut. TW for mention of death threats and possible cussing.
But we do NOT need to send death threats, things with smutty themes, etc. Into a celebrities ask box all because they're gonna be on this site.
They're people just as much as we are. If you don't like them, theres a handy-dandy feature called "blocking and moving on". Not writing rude messages. Not saying "Blazing a post is a pvp attack". (Because god forbid an artist use a feature to be seen)
I understand not wanting big corps to make their way on Tumblr. Believe me, I do. However Tumblr's advertising (or at least on mobile) is easilly skippable/you can scroll past or actually look at the ad if its somewhat interesting.
Also, Tumblr sells shoelaces for 19 dollars. That should only be like three dollars, but it shows that it really does need the money. (@indigoartistqueen mentioned that, along with other various things in this article) Such as paying programmers to create new features. Paying artists to create new logos and themes. paying the employees that check out the reports. (which I am rlly sorry for them bc I just so happen to keep finding really rude comments or things shipping an 8 year old with an 1000 year old.)
So, if tumblr got a little more money, then merch will cost less. Features will cost less. You can crab someone for less for goodness sakes. (Speaking if which, if you REALLY hate a celeb that badly, run them off with crabs.) But tumblr, just like any other site and app, NEEDS money to keep it running.
Also, don't you think SOME form of algorithm will be good? Or at least better search results? Because artists do tend to use very different tags. (Like memes, funny, lmao, lol, etc.) All that could be grouped under "Funny" so that people can actually find and search for their content easier.
Not to mention that with the way the tumblr staff are, I highly doubt they're gonna be implementing things that will cause a riot from their supporters, like the algorithm, bc the blogs ARE the algorythm, reblogging stuff they like to spread it out.
But just a better tagging system! i myself have stopped posting art as much because I just DON'T get seen! People just don't like or reblog my work, but if I were to blaze it, I would suddenly have 1,000 notes full of threats and "this is a pvp attack. Everybody block on sight."
Now, getting back to the celebrity thing. So many people have said that they don't want any political opinions to divide this site. Well I'd hate to break it to you, but we have, in some form, a type of political dispute. Usually its over the type of view one should have on a fiction character. How you can interpret them. What headcanons are correct. Which fandoms better. Which characters hotter. I could go on over the disputes! Plus the political side of tumblr! Science side of tumblr! Religous site on tumblr!
It never ends! If you don't like a celebrity, DON'T SEND DEATH THREATS TO THEIR ASK BOX! Some will actually commit it! Instead, BLOCK. THEM. It's easy! Don't pay attention to it! Just block them. If you really don't like them, send a cursed image, like I don't know, Patrick Star in stripper heels! A perfect circle thats slightly off! Do NOT send threats, because they're humans just like you! (Or as a Fairy myself, xenogenders as well)
Point is, quit trying to run celebrities off this site all because you're afraid of contriversal opinions that you don't agree with! Just block them! It's there for a reason! It's not like roblox where you can only block 100 people total!
Use the block feature. Don't fight fire with fire. It will ONLY get worse. You don't see firemen using flamethrowers, do you??? No! Please for the LOVE OF WHOEVER OR WHATEVER YOU BELIEVE IN quit spreading hate! It only makes things worse! You're only making yourself worse! Just because tumblr is an anonymous site does not mean you can do whatever you want... Because guess what? There's other humans right behind that post you just saw! (Unless its a bot ofc, that's a different story for another time)
Respectfully, have a good day. If you don't like my opinion, block me. If you send me a threat, I'll block and report you.

Just gonna put it out here
My dad has been really invested in Rings of Power and has been asking me a lot of questions related to the first age like what are the silmarils, who's feanor, etc. He used to be an avid Tolkien fan and introduced me to the world himself and he has asked me several time to enjoy TRoP because it's "Good if you think it as outside of Tolkien"
If I had to enjoy something Tolkien-but-not-really-Tolkien then I'd enjoy Eragon or something like that, definitely not something like TRoP which is basically a fanfiction off Tolkien that is massacring storylines and characters.
The Tolkien tags used to be so different that i now have to avoid almost all of it 😭. I have nothing against those who are enjoying the show, but absolutely have personal problems against the show. Look what they did to my boy Finrod. We don't talk about Sauron. If TRoP is getting money then fanfiction writers too should get money off their stuff because it's basically the same thing at this point.
Sorry, I forgot to post this. I got caught up in my own wailings XD
"Good if you think it as outside of Tolkien" seems to be a running theme. People I work with are enjoying the show. I'm the only one who seems to have a problem. I'm also the only one who spends waaaaay too much of my time thinking about the Silm (hello special interest and hyperfixation). Though I'm not the only person who has read Tolkien in the group, anyone else who has has only read LotR and therefore doesn't really have anything to reference the show against.
But you're right, it can be dificult to enjoy it as a thing outside of Tolkien when what they've produced is a step down from the original work. I will also say that I found it hilarious that you mentioned Eragon because that also had a disasterous adaptation XD And contains many elements that very much make it a Tolkien fanfic in itself (don't get me wrong, I had my Eragon phase like the rest of us!)
As for the tags... well... the show is new. The show fandom and book fandom are overlapping quite a lot at the moment, but from looking at the films I feel like things will settle down and maybe separate out better? I don't know. This is just another instance of making sure you manage your online experince well. The unfollow and block buttons are your friends. I'll admit I've done a good bit of unfollowing in the last couple of days, either of people or of tags and you know what? My dash is almost completely back to normal! I just need to block some TROP specific tags and I think we'll be good.
It's sad, I get it. I don't normally actually go searching through specific tags, I follow enough people that my dash is interesting on it's own. Yet even for me, it felt... wrong.. to be unfollowing the Sauron tag. I'm not ashamed to say that I have a feeling of complete strangers ruining something I love deeply (I literally carry around my knitted Sauron when I'm having a tough time, becuase he is very much my comfort character who I must have just so). But despite that, the fandom circles that we're used to still exist, we just need to make sure we're interacting with the right people for what we want to see.
Sorry, if that little speech came off as weirdly patronising? I'm after getting most of the horror out of my system now and am quite happy to not catastrophise about the fandom as a result of the show. I'll probably still pass comment for the next little while becuase I don't have the self control not to, but other than that I think "Unfollow, Block, Curate" needs to be the mantra for now and we'll see that we can continue on as we always have.
Lastly, on money. Unfortunately legalities like rights make all the difference in money terms. Let's not bring the angry ghost of Anne Rice down upon ourselves (though, the new Interview with the Vampire adaptation seems to be beeing met well XD)

holy eff, that was 2 years ago? im so sorry, im absolutely unaware of the passage of time XD but yep! that's me! it wasn't very hard to find you tbh, i went to overlord tag one day and i found your art. this time i simply searched for demiurge and was pleasantly surprised that you changed your blog again (more like returned to your old one but yeah). don't worry tho, no need to hide from me! im a good anon, and a person you knew quite good (and also a person who, i think, triggered you once? with some depressing themes. im so deeply sorry for that) glad to hear you have everything under control now! but im more glad that you're enjoying yourself and grow the fandom. overlord is really amazing, both anime and light novel (that's it, if i ever decide to watch the new season or catch up with the novel). you did a very fine choice, dear, to get into it! (and, especially, to get into demiurge hehe) don't mention it truly! i've been wondering for a few weeks now how you're doing and all. and i'm really, really happy to see you're enjoying yourself and having fun.
I also wanted to say that, uh, i know how ac fandom treated you and please take no offence, but, i really appreciate that you didn't delete the responds to people's asks or the gifts that are ac themed. i know it wasn't an easy choice, and i really appreciate it. it sounds stupid but it means a lot as it brought some pleasant memories. so, yeah, thanks for that! <3 (also: your emmett is forever in our hearts) i hope you won't mind me being here from time to time (and not like, appearing after 2 years XD). you were always so lovely to talk to! you still are, of course, but yeah! lovely to talk to and you're lovely too! as always <3 - P
LOL to be fair, I think the pandemic really threw us all for a loop. X”D Heck, it being 2022 hasn't really come to my realization yet. I still keep thinking 2020 was just last year.
Haha, that is very fair. ♥ If you were able to hunt through the Demiurge tag, that is indeed where I kinda live now. ♥ Though I am working more and more on drifting my version of him out of the fandom and into my original works. But we'll see! I do love the character a lot!
Oof, I gotta be honest, anon. My memory got a bit scattered no thanks to anemia causing me a bit of brain fog/damage. So if you did anything that triggered me, it's quite alright. ♥ I've obviously gone past whatever may have happened now, and it is all water under the bridge as they say.
I adore Overlord, but my poor Albedo and Demiurge... I wish they were given more time to develop. ;~; They are my treasures next to Yuri Alpha. ♥ But I do hope you enjoy the new season! I love the animation has really been upped in quality! I'm still eagerly waiting for the movie!
Thank you! I have a lovely group of readers and friends who support me like yourself, and I appreciate every single one of them. I especially love the readers who have been with me since the AC days. The fact you guys will still follow me from one thing to the next is sweet, and I am always happy to see reoccurring names pop up now and again!
I will be honest, hon, in that I did delete a few things in my desire to heal away from the fandom years back, but not all of it is gone, no. ♥ The Fall is still on AO3, I just removed my name from it, and the Prostitute Series, while removed from AO3, is still on here too. I know those were the main stories people would have been upset to be removed from the net completely. I do still have the others on my hard drive (like certain love letters and The Dove Effect, Daddy Dearest, etc), but I just don't feel comfortable releasing them again to the public. Maybe one day. ♥
Aww, thank you! I actually did plan on bringing Emmett back into a Victorian setting but away from AC: S. ♥ I had a werewolf story in London kinda idea that I wanted him to be apart of, so he will return just—in a new way and away from Jacob being his dad. (He's gonna have an adopted dad/mentor instead.)
Awww, I adore when folks drop in to say hi every now and again! I still get people DMing me saying 'thank you for writing this super old fic from 2005' ever so often, and it's great! I hope people never think it's weird or annoying to talk to me about old times or just say hello. I promise, it's okay to do so. ♥
It's kind of why I never really ever change my name or at least, try not to. ♥ I want it to be easier for folks to find me.
It's always great to hear from you, anon! ♥
#and soon 2023 will be here... lol#who's ready for that?#i know i'm not X"D#thanks again hon!#mod answers#anon#anon: P

Hi, star-anise. Would you mind giving me some advice? Recently there's a homophobe in my local fanfic community. She tries to indoctrinate people with homophobia. She demonizes yaoi, calling it sinful etc. She demonizes genderbend fics, calling it LGBT Agenda™️. She is undeniably queerphobic, not just about fiction. Apparently she's a part of fundamentalist cult. Also, she's a known serial harassers who habitually harass BL/slash writers. What do you suggest we do?
Damn, that sucks!
What kind of fannish infrastructure do you guys have? That is, do you all just hang out on the AO3 category/main Tumblr tag, or do you have things that you can control the membership of?
1. Encourage a positive fannish atmosphere - Decide on a core set of principles, or guidelines of behaviour, you want to encourage in fandom, whether that’s “Hate-Free” or “LGBT-Positive”, or put in rules like “No Homophobia, No Harassment”. Post things about the importance of representation and LGBT pride, or about the importance of fans treating each other respectfully. Try to build a culture of acceptance and inclusion that’s so lively and engaging that when she spews bullshit, it’s obvious a dissonant note.
2. Build fannish infrastructure - A fandom can just be the AO3 feed and a Tumblr tag. But the more you actively build spaces and institutions, the more you can shape the culture around it. For example, you can create a secondary fannish hashtag on Tumblr or Twitter where everyone hangs out and socializes, like #inclusive[fandom] or #hatefree[fandom] or #[fandom]rainbow, so someone who checks out the main fannish hashtag will see that many cool creative people are talking in this LGBT+-friendly space. You could use that tag on AO3, too.
Other types of fannish infrastructure: Rec blogs, ficathons, gift exchanges, theme weeks, podfic exchanges, Discord servers, or remix challenges. Give all of them an anti-harassment policy, for example, “This blog will not rec any work by a user who has harassed another fan in the last 6 months”, that both let you enjoy fandom without her, and give her an incentive to stop harassing people.
3. Make consequences happen - If she’s part of any group space you can control the membership of, use those rules or principles to kick her out. If people aren’t willing to kick her out permanently, then decide on a length of a ban, like 3 days, a week, or a month. Every time she says something bigoted? Kick her out. This might not stop her so much (I recommend a “3 strikes you’re out” policy to keep it from being a revolving door ban), but it will send a strong message to onlookers that this shit won’t fly, and they’ll get used to what things are like with her gone.
If your common fannish space moderators won’t do that, get rid of them, or find a new fannish space. Seriously. If a moderator won’t set rules for basic good behaviour, or get rid of a toxic troll who constantly breaks them, they are of no use whatsoever.
If you can round up proof of her harassment or homophobia, you could also report her to the websites she uses. Twitter has a Hateful Conduct Policy and abusive behaviour policy, harassment and hate speech are against Tumblr’s Community Guidelines, and AO3 has a Harassment Policy. All these sites’ policies also forbid making extra accounts to get around a block. It’s really tedious, but for a long time now I’ve kept a folder in my computer where I keep screencaps of fannish abuse, harassment, or hate speech, in case I need to make a report or go, “Hey, the user you banned previously? They’re back using a new account.”
4. Help keep everybody safe -Let everybody know that blocking, reporting, and ignoring abusive users is the best way to go. Make that knowledge as easy for new users to find as what the shipnames are and who makes the best fanart. Teach people how to filter post content on Tumblr, remove certain users from AO3 searches (type -“creators: username”), or subscribe to a Twitter block list.
5. Forgiveness is optional. Good behaviour is not - You can keep giving her chances to change if you like, or you can just cut her off. If she promises she has genuinely changed and really wants another chance, it’s up to you whether to give it to her--you don’t owe her forgiveness. If she really wants a “fresh start” she can go find another fandom where she hasn’t already hurt people.
On the other hand, harassing her or sending her abusive messages isn’t okay. One of the sad realities of the Internet today is that if you name someone for bad behaviour, various people will take it upon themselves to target that person for harassment and abuse. Therefore, naming and shaming isn’t a great first line of defense because it’s so likely to have negative consequences. See what you can do first about making your fandom resilient against her bullshit, and removing her from your spaces, before doing it. Sometimes it is necessary to have a Canonical Callout Page explaining why everyone should block this person, or to have someone keeping tabs on her who can let everyone know if she’s renamed or changed accounts. However, that’s kind of a “if all else fails” scenario. Hopefully, you shouldn’t need it.
Good luck! <3 Gay rights, trans rights, have an awesome time in fandom.

the chosen on social media
this is inspired by @tangledupblue and her wonderful instagram series. you can find those here, as well as other digimon related things! (please check them out - i love them!)
hikari
probably has a cute handle - something like @/light.of.your.life or @/hikariferarri (courtesy of takeru).
is instagram FAMOUS for her photography. she also helps the other chosen take quality pictures for their social medias
she only has facebook so that she can share her mom’s recipes
while she likes snapchat, the updates can get confusing. there have been multiple times where she sent iori a message meant for miyako
hikari loves twitter, but only to find meme to send to the “LIL BABEY MONS” group chat. (in reference to one of her fav vids, THIS).
has a tiktok, but only posts behind-the-scenes shots of photo shoots or asmr day-in-my-life clips.
iori
he has an instagram, but posts once every 43 weeks
he loves using Facebook to keep up with his family members, kendo pals, and school friends. he only posts selfies that make him look like an old man or the shots hikari captures at his matches.
despite being the youngest chosen, he really acts like the oldest. he doesnt really get all of the "twitting" and "chat snapping". why don't people just send emails anymore?
he only downloaded snapchat because miyako threatened him with his life kindly suggested that he be apart of the "LIL BABEY MONS" group chat
yamato
this boy is a twitter KING
he can literally post about his least favorite genre of milk (🤢 skim 🤢) and have thousands of retweets in a few minutes
instagram isnt really his “thing”, but anytime he does post, takeru gives him shit for it
he has to most followers out of anyone in the group, but mimi is a close second
facebook hasn’t been a thing for him since he was eleven and wanted to play farmville
sora
she updates DAILY for her facebook friends
anytime she drinks a diet coke? posted. the horrible incident involving veemon and a lost diaper? written about in detail.
she is a total mom friend, and most of her pictures consist of piyomon and her friends at their extracurricular activities.
she runs a fan account for knife of day on twitter. after the band changed their name, most of their follower-base was lost, so sora...became a fandom catfish to give them clout.
once a month, she has to go on a “social media detox” because she used pinterest more than 3 hours.
ken
tries to avoid all social media because people still tag him in his old interviews. (his hair style? 🤢 🤢 his attitude? 🤮 🤮
he also used to be a cyber bully in elementary school. his old email address was [email protected]
he’s on linkedin,,,,,,it’s not that cool
he leaves everyone on read with snapchat. his philosophy is that if the person truly needed him, they would just call
he LOVES making playlists on spotify!!! some of them even have more than ten likes!!!
also, he updates his goodreads daily and makes sure to review every single thing he has ever read.
daisuke
this boy SPAMS snapchat and his instagram with food pics
“phone eats first”
he also lowkey runs a thirst-trap tiktok account. his motto is “i do it for the girls and the gays, that’s it.”
his snap score is ASTRONOMICAL, and he probably has well over 300 friends.
he often posts those “anonymous message” things, but only posts the nice ones because he wants people to think that he is Super Cool.
he tries too hard on instagram, and the other chosen often tease him in the comments
his favorite pastime is to watch trick-shots on youtube
jou
he doesnt really have the time to divulge in social media, so his phone is pretty dry.
his only friends on snapchat are the eleven other chosen and his “””””””””””girlfriend”””””””””””””””””””
facebook?? who is she??
he only uses instagram to promote local charities, share photos of “interesting” x-rays, wounds, etc, and to post links to informational articles
that’s it, honestly. he is a simple man.
miyako
QWEEN of EVERYTHING, sry about it
instagram? she serves LOOKS daily
snapchat? you KNOW she spams “LIL BABEY MONS” at all hours of the night with obscure memes and questions about philosophy.
she also loves to use pinterest for some of her more elaborate ideas, but leaves the bulk of that to mimi.
she is semi-famous on twitter for starting drama in the “computer enthusiat” community (it isn’t her fault that twelve-year-old boys have the ego of a fully grown daisuke and need to be knock down a peg or few)
miyako is also a life-style vlogger, but her most famous video is titled “day in the life of a japanese student that casually studied abroad in spain but is back now!!! 🌸 💫 🌈 ”
she also invites mimi onto her channel so that they can make disaster-prone recipes together
koushiro
he has snapchat because it is mimi’s preferred form of communication
anytime kou sees a cool flower or something pretty, he sends it to the girls
despite being very proficient in computer studies, he refuses to help the girls change the html text of their blogs to make it ombre
linkedin is his most favorite, and he thinks it is fun to update his resume
he lowkey is the admin of a world-wide digimon discord server along with takeru
taichi
his snap score rivals daisuke’s, but it is mainly used for his teammates and the various...lovely women he meets up with most nights.
his dm’s are always full, and his instagram is full of only soccer pics. that’s it. that is his only personality trait.
he only follows two (2) famous soccer players on twitter, but hasnt logged on since middle school. his profile picture is a stock photo of a dinosaur
,,,,,,,,,lowkey has pornhub premium
mimi
pinterest is her literal bestfriend. she is ALWAYS searching up ideas about home decor, new recipes, etc.
YOUTUBER STATUS!!!! she is so chaotic and edits her videos to the max, but the public love her.
her insta is filled with plants, cute outfits, scenery, and candids of her friends. she also highkey loves having a social media theme!!
she has 86 profiles on facebook because she keeps forgetting her passwords and doesnt know how to delete the old ones
takeru
he LOVES goodreads! he makes all kinds of friends that like the same stories!!
he loves moderating the digimon discord server because he can learn all kinds of language and ways to tell hikari he loves her
he posts aesthetic pictures of books and coffee shops on his insta and odd snippets of his friends (hikari's hand in the corner, yamato's hair poking about, whatever strikes his fancy)

You’re allowed to have your opinions about whatever you want, but at your big age, I know you’re smart enough to know that your opinion was an uneducated one filled with assumptions and grand generalizations about people you don’t know. Many dark fics writers and readers are victims of assault themselves who feel that engaging in these fics gives them back a sense of control unlike in that particular situation(s) where they had none. Women who enjoy being submissive or in situations where they are submissive doesn’t equate to low self esteem. There’s literally no correlation. These fandoms are huge. There’s no shortage of writers who don’t write dark fics. You’re simply not looking for them because the dark fic community or whatever is relatively small. 1 in 3 women actually have rape fantasies. They’re very common. You just happen to come across those who write about it. Your post wasn’t about curiosity or questions and you know it. It was holier than thou and filled with judgement and your giddiness to look down on something you don’t understand nor have any intentions of understanding. It was filled with stuff you literally just pulled out of your head. No research. No actually reading up on why women fantasize about these things. Nothing. Just pure ignorance and vibes and you have the audacity to be shocked when people took offense to it. As an SA victim myself, I would never tell another how they should cope with their trauma. I could never even fix my mouth to do such a thing bc my experience is not everyone’s and anyone with common sense can understand that
I was very hesitant about replying to you and I wanna start by saying that I really really really don’t want to start the fight again. It wasn’t my intention in a first place, believe me or not. But there are few things that need to be clarify and I wanna take this opportunity to do that since the dust seems to settle on my post. So I’m sorry but it’s going to be long reply, partially to you partially to the people who commented under my OP, if they decide to read it.
Starting from a thing that annoys me the most, I never said anything about how people should cope with their trauma. What I said is that if someone gets turned on by reading about this kind of things, they should work on their self esteem, that is what I said (hold your hate, hide the torches, I’ll elaborate). I never said something on the line “if you find this helpful or healing you should work on your self esteem”. So please don’t twist my words. I know how difficult is dealing with trauma, and I’m not talking about rape trauma per say but trauma in general, so it would never even cross my mind.
Before you get angry, I wasn’t referring to the people who are into kink as general group. I wrote specifically that I “I get that people have different fantasies I do get that (...) I enjoy a bit of kink” - so no, I wasn’t condemning all people who are into all kinds of kink. I never expressed any hate towards people who are into it. Hate, pitchforks and torches came from the other side. Anyway, in my eyes there is a difference between kinky and straight disturbing. There is a difference between being submissive and being raped. People chose to read that as an personal attack on them and it is kinda obvious that I wasn’t referring to them, people who are into kink. You, they (I don’t know how to phrase this) you know how it works, what is a part of fantasy etc. something I personally know very little about because I’m not into it. Buuuuut, there are people out there who, like me, come across this type of content and upon discovering it are being shocked and horrified. And I’m sorry, you are aware that it’s coming from someone “outside of circle”, but I read some things which were truly horrifying. And again, I’m not referring to all of the kinky stuff, in my OP I was specifically referring to rape, degradation, breeding kink, non-con, forced pregnancy, very extreme things. I read through some truly horrifying things, rapes so violent that it makes Irreversible a rom-com. And comments under this kind of fiction weren’t about healing and helping but were indications of getting turned on, rounds of applause and appreciation for the author. And I’m sorry but for a life of my I don’t see how this might be helpful for an author or a reader who is a rape victim especially since the outcome of the rape rarely tackled. There is no aftermath, no repercussions for the abuser, no consequences for the abuser, nothing, just a plain violent act of rape. And yes, for someone who is “outside of the circle” it can look like normalization and erotization of a rape. But you know, it is an opinion if an ignorant.
Continuing, I’m sure you are aware that content can be read by people from “outside of circle” (and yes I will keep using that phrase from lack of better one). And believe it or not I wasn’t searching for it. Searching tag Steve Rogers x reader gave my only this type of fics for pages upon pages. Like I said before, perhaps Tumblr should work on their search engine. Going back to people “outside of the circle”, some will shake it off and move on, some will stay and maybe get into it more, and some well might take it on face value, in a very wrong way. Because you won’t convince me that art does not have impact on a real life, it does, it always did. And yes you are right, this is coming from my head, those are feelings and thoughts of a common folk. I’m sure you must be aware of potential danger of this kind of, let’s say themes, for someone who is “outside of the circle”. Let’s stretch our imagination for a sec: young girl come across this. She’s innocent, just discovering her sexuality, curiosity is the thing. And let’s be honest, forbidden fruit always tastes the best so of course she will ignore warnings. Around the same time she starts dating a guy, he’s not a very nice guy. They’re getting together and she’s not ready but we’ll he’s more than needing. So she thinks about all the things she read and maybe starts thinking that guys are into this, she doesn’t have much experience. So instead of running she becomes another rape victim. Or let’s look at this from the other perspective, a guys come across this kind of fiction and starts thinking that, hmm, maybe girls are into it. And next time he won’t take no for an answer, he will take this as an encouragement. Yeah, that is a possibility. And I don’t know how can I stress this enough, but it is only one of possible scenarios. That truly doesn’t mean that I’m hating or, damn this is ridiculous, kink-shaming people who are into kink. I’m simply presenting a scenario. Scenario from the point of view of a common folk, someone “outside of the circle”. And yes, yes, I read in the comments counter argument about violent games etc but we are not talking about this, and in my opinion it is just invalid argument. No one in their right mind will start killing people after playing a violent game. However sexuality is much more delicate subject, especially since power dynamics between man and a woman were always a difficult subject.
You saying that my post was filled with generalization, and yes you are absolutely right. It wasn’t targeted specifically toward people who are into kink, who am I to judge, I really really don’t give a flying fuck about what people do behind closed doors. It was about the sheer ridiculousness of the world we’re living in. That’s why I brought up subject of equal rights etc. Because we, society, as people, we are jumping from one opposite side of the extreme to another. On one hand women are fighting for equal rights, on the other hand we are taking all the power from women in the fiction, on one hand we are talking about toxic masculinity on the other we write about rape, on one hand women in some countries are fight for right to their bodies, on the other we are writing about forced impregnation. And I know, I know, one is a fiction an the other is a real life, it’s not for everyone, and so on. I get that. I’m painting a picture here. Picture of society which is swapping one extreme to another. And like I said before, this kind of fiction is being read not only by people who are into kink, but by common people, who know very little about it. And I’m sure you are aware, that common people can see it that way, and for common people rape fantasy is not normal, as in commonly accepted by society.
Anyways, this is longer than I wanted it to be. Like i said at the beginning, I have no intention in starting another fight. I never had intention like that in a first place believe it or not. For years I was a quiet Tumblr user, enjoying content that enjoy in my little part of the internet. You can check out my blog if you don’t believe me. So I won’t shit into your nest anymore, I’m going to crawl back to my little hole from which I crawled out. Enjoying content as I was before. And yes, I discovered filtering ;)

I've seen some people struggle with selling adopts, so here's a few quick tips I use to sell mine! 1.Be aware of trends Consider looking at what sells at a high price, and using them as references. I usually use 5-10 high-end adopts as reference when I'm struggling with ideas. Avoid oversimplified or overcomplicated designs. A black/white cat won't sell because it's something people can make themselves without buying it. And clustered designs are turnoffs because they're hard to reproduce [1/?]
2. Consider time Post your adopts while 1k+ members are active, even if you have to wait an extra day. This will ensure that the most possible people will view your work. I also like to post the adopt on a separate amino, so I can see the way the image crops. That way, if amino ruins the thumbnail, I can fix it beforehand. 3. Species If you're looking to sell more often, get into species. (Well known) Species adopts sell really well, so audition for GAs when you get the chance. [2/?] 4. Advertise Search up "LF" posts, tag your stuff (# ota # paypal) and link in chats, small artist support. Little things like these will help you get the attention of more people. This one's short but the next one is long so it didn't fit (╥﹏╥) [3?] 5. If you're someone who designs for fun, then ignore this. But if you are a capitalistte then consider this. I've noticed that the adopt community is something that thrives off of consumerism. Right now especially. So when you make your designs, focus on something that will catch people's eye momentarily. It doesn't have to be an iconic design, but it has to be something that gets a buyer's attention in the moment. [4/?] This circles back to the first tip, but it's always nice to remember the psychology behind a huge amount of what the adopt community is and how to break through it as someone who wants to sell their art. I still put a lot of care into my designs, but there's no doubt that this obviously changed the way I made and sold characters. 6. Post on other platforms/aminos Furry amino, Adopts amino, Instagram, Deviantart (Adopt groups) these help and there are more people willing to spend ACTUAL money 7. Consider themed adopts Fandom adopts also sell really well, since people will recognize something familiar and they'll be more inclined to buy. Popular fandoms atm: bnha, SU, TOH, etc. 8. Consider art style Art quality, style and recognizability plays a huge part. I don't have a lot of advice for this point, other than evaluate to see if your art has: clarity, and aesthetic colors. Without clarity, people won't know w is going on in your art/designs I think this is the last[?/done]
