The Circle is a way for the creators to showcase a vital component of the '70s – smoking weed. According to the show creators, the blunt or joint is passed around ahead of the person speaking on camera, thus never shown. The circle usually takes place in the basement and features four people, though these rules are bent on occasion. On special occasions, the circle has been used to show the characters partaking in consuming other things than weed, such as dinner, alcohol, ice cream, cigars, hash brownies (accidentally) or nothing at all. During such scenes, adults also participate.

On occasion, the circle scenes are followed by scenes where the characters act sober while being still high, but more often that not, no one seems to suffer any ill effects after the fact. A notable case was the second-to-last episode where a particularly potent "stash" was acquired by the gang when Fez's friend from his homeland visited. Hyde, who was unquestionably the most frequent pot smoker in The Circle, actually quit smoking for a period of time because he got too high.

The Circle also remained in the '90s and '2000s, where the gang would still smoke and occasionally drink.

Rules

The circle is not:

An area where people can talk about their feelings.

A place where people can cry.

For the faint of heart.

A place where people can grope each other.

But it is:

Where laughing occurs.

Where random stuff is discussed.

Where some of the dumbest decisions are made.

Very candid.

One of the most well-known elements of the show.

well, honestly. freak fortress is a little hard to describe. yknow how back in the day gmod and sfm videos were needlessly gory and nonsensical? that’s… 70% of freak fortress. But it’s good! It’s good i swear

freak fortress’ main charm (to me) is all the characters people make! if you wanna get started on getting into FF or just learning about freaks in general, i recommend checking out the Freakshow Universe wiki! (the regular Freakshow wiki is fine too, i just prefer the FSU one!)

freaks are, very typically, bloodthirsty and murderous, but there are friendly and neutral freaks too! some “starter” freaks i think are a good starting point are Painis, Intelligent Heavy, Brutal, Weaselcake and Soldine! every freak’s wiki page link to videos featuring/starring them ^_^

there’s also a Freak Fortress gamemode in actual TF2, based on VS. Saxton Hale. and a few freaks appear in the Slender Fortress gamemode too :)

i do also have to say, FF really is a relic of its time, but a lot of content and Freaks themselves are. Outdated, to put mildly. These were characters and videos made in the 2010’s so there are some bad eggs and there’s humor that can be considered very unsavory nowadays, but I really do mean it’s a small percentile in an otherwise very, very charming (and entertaining) look into the sfm/gmod community of the time!

OK, so today I have a terribly silly and ridiculous fun-fact for you, and I swear it's real!!

Did you know there is an actual typical Austrian dish called 'Kafka'?

And it's fast food? xD

I knew this. But completely forgot about its existance.

It's a special type of 'Bosna', which is basically a hot-dog, but not really a hot-dog 'cause it's different (lmao, best description ever). It's an extra roasted sausage with a lot added spices in a long burger bun. If made with an extra cheese-stuffed sausage it's called a 'Kafka' on the menu.

And.. it's the type of snack labor workers got after work on their way home. Typically, if not only, served at.. well I'd describe it as mini-diners? Snack bars? Like you cannot even sit down, you get your food outside and eat it while standing there. And it's basically quite cheap and you drink a cold one with it.

Thise snack bars are not that popular anymore but go back like 20 years and they all got food there.

And guess what .. now I looked it up, and find out IT WAS INVENTED IN MY HOMETOWN. I honestly don't know what to do with this information, I just had to get it out of my system.

I threw together a little reference on google slides HERE of all the beastclans and other sapient species in Sornieth. it includes their descriptions, and I made bullet points in the speaker notes of the implications that I drew based on them.

I love all the different species and am excited to see how they are developed, like how the harpies got new lore. I'd love to hear people's additional headcanons and lore revamp ideas for these species!
