Walked up to this painting (a Varley in the Group of Seven section) and burst into tears. I usually cry at least once when I visit this gallery, but it’s normally at the 40 Part Motet. I did a little experiment and walked away for awhile, then looped back and… cried again. 🤷♀️ This painting gets me today but I don’t know why.
