29 on the 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th
"Dami mong ganap nung birthday mo ah," this is what my friend messaged in our group chat after seeing my posts on social media.
Well. To be fair, I did do quite a lot, but there was no grand celebration or party for my birthday. Just five days of simple joys.
January 26
Last Thursday, I was scheduled to have my APE at a clinic that's close to our office. JK, who lives nearby, met up with me afterwards and gave me their gifts—the Totoro and No-Face night light lamps.
Annie reported to the office that day, so I went to the Starbucks at the ground floor of our building. We hung out there for like an hour while I finished my coffee and croissant.
Then I went on my to see my dentist. I got discounts for the procedures that were done 'coz I mentioned that it's my last day of being 28 years old. Also, this might be the official start of The Tooth Chronicles: Volume 2.
January 27
My actual birthday.
At midnight, Annie shared the ecard they made for me—and it was Zelda-themed. This is like... one of my wishes ever since I knew that we make birthday ecards for everyone in our team—and I was a bit sad that it was discontinued. And it was so funny that they made JK the mushroom guy from Link's Awakening—that guy sells mushrooms that make you high.
Anyway, I spent most of the day with Gerald. Officially, this is the first time that I celebrated my actual birthday with him. We went to MOA, ate food... and we had fun. 🥰
Gerald gave me a shirt and two face towels—he knew I've been jogging lately, pretty much his influence.
January 28
I made samgyupsal bites—I've been craving for it for the past few weeks. And my sister bought me a cake yesterday, but I wasn't able to open it and blow a candle. So... All the birthday stuff happened that day.
Then two of my sister's friends came over later. We drank coffee and pink moscato.
January 29
I went back to the dentist because I thought excess cement was lodged in between my teeth—which somehow disappeared the night before, but I still had my dentist check it.
My sister accompanied me because there's a Starbucks on the same area where my dental clinic is. I got a soy caramel macchiato for my "Starbucks Birthday Treat."
I made another batch of samgyupsal bites for our late afternoon snack and dinner. It was just so addictive.
January 30
I was ready to post this blog earlier, but apparently, celebrations aren't done yet.
My team had a cake delivered to my house, which was supposed to be a surprise but they couldn't confirm what my address is so they had to tell me beforehand.
At least, the flavor of the cake was still a surprise. 😊 It's coffee caramel chiffon—that's like... my two favorite flavors combined.

Digital Engagement Tools to Create a Collaborative Work Culture
Collaboration is a highly appreciated attribute for corporate success, particularly in today's times when the concept of collaboration has shifted. There are no more yells across cubicles, conference calls don't require a conference room, and onboarding just entails logging into a variety of programs and tools. As a result, collaboration technologies serve as the pivot of modern workplace culture, facilitating connection, establishing transparency, increasing productivity, and increasing employee engagement.
Employees may participate in decision-making in a more dynamic, convenient, and informed way using digital engagement. Digital involvement can also help them comprehend decisions better and get support for long-term execution. In the future, the online platform can be used to investigate a limitless number of additional topics, as well as to establish a larger online community that will regularly engage with the municipality on new and upcoming initiatives.
Employees who are more engaged are happy employees. It's no surprise that pleased employees are more likely to stay with the company. When you give your employees powerful and simple-to-use digital tools, you give them the tools they need to succeed.
This blog discusses the value of a connected culture, as well as the role of digital engagement tools in bringing it to life.
Transparency and Trust: In order to optimize talent and improve business outcomes, an organization must foster a culture of trust and openness. This can be sparked at the top, with major organizational developments and future plans shared to all employees in a timely and transparent manner. Field personnel, remote workers, and the contingent workforce will all benefit from regular org-wide notifications made via an employee experience portal. Hosting executive connect initiatives, such as discussions with senior executives, will also encourage collaboration.
Accessibility and Ease-of-use: A collaborative work culture necessitates the dismantling of silos and the facilitation of free-flowing, two-way communication. Having a unified social wall for the entire firm can help with this, as it allows management and employees to post their opinions while being moderated by HR. Employee connection, mentorship opportunities, and morale can all be boosted by having virtual discussion groups for mutual interests. Such solutions on a mobile-first platform with a bilingual interface can improve accessibility even more.
Rewards and Recognition: Using a rewards and recognition program to incentivize teamwork and cooperation is a fantastic method to actively foster collaboration. A 360-degree recognition system fosters a culture of gratitude, which improves team cohesion and collaboration. Furthermore, public acknowledgment and leaderboards can increase the impact of achievements while involving everyone in an individual employee's success.
Virtual Group Events: Virtual team challenges and bingo evenings, for example, can bring individuals together in unexpected, informal ways, improving their creativity and capacity to collaborate toward a common goal. Receiving prior notice of birthdays, anniversaries, and other personal occasions might allow team members to plan a joint present using the company's rewards platform. Sharing ecards or emoji parades, on the other hand, can brighten someone's special day and increase a sense of belonging.
Infrastructure: To support your employees, you must have reliable digital tools and systems. A cloud-based solution, for example, allows your staff to access data quickly and effortlessly from any place. Shared documents, calendars, email, and video conferencing are just a few of the tools that enable real-time communication and collaboration.
Social Media Platforms: If you haven't done so previously, now is the moment to take social media seriously as a digital engagement tool. Success in social media, like traditional networking, takes effort and dedication. Different platforms are best for different audiences, so be sure you know who you're talking to before committing to one or more.
Video Conferencing: Video conference calls are now a routine element of today’s business. Video conferencing is a visual technique to bring your interpersonal communication to life. It allows you to present and work with clients virtually.
Client Portal: A client portal can be a very useful tool. You can use it to store not only all forms of digital content, but also any papers and deliverables linked to your work with them. A client portal is a digital one-stop shop for anything from project timelines and invoice documents to presentations and educational resources.
Companies must have a connected work culture to survive in today's competitive environment. While technology has become an integral part of the virtual office experience, it can only have a positive impact on culture if it has enough executive backing and is integrated into the daily work flow.
