Absolutely devouring Sung’s new EP

Honestly, as someone who consumes a lot of short form horror stories, I think ‘Cosmic Horror’ is really good for Doctor Sung’s very first try at that kind of narrative storytelling.

There are little turns of phrase and stuff with some of the interactions between characters that I think he’ll easily fine tune as he writes more, that just comes with the territory. That being said, I think his ability to describe a scene and the actual horror aspects are two of his strengths and those are so easy to fuck up at your first rodeo.

I know TWRP has talked about listening to the horror podcast Knifepoint Horror specifically before, but I’d be interested in knowing any other horror specific influences for Sung in particular.

I know he also said on the stream premiering the EP and the story that he’s working on a novella that’s more sci-fi comedy, I would be very into that.

A rare groove staple! this is the debut album from Portland funk legends Pleasure, and my GOD does it groove!!!!!

Pleasure was produced by Wayne Henderson, who was the Trombone player for the classic jazz band The Crusaders. His production shines incredibly bright on this album, which features some of the best playing and vocals in their entire discography

the only real downside is trying to find this album for under $40 :/

Context: If you know about Kyle Rayner, you will get why Stephanie needs to stay far away from that man. She already fake died once!

Stephanie (grinning widely, bouncing on her seat): He was so cute, dude. I learned his name… Kyle Rayner.

Dick spat out his drink, shocked, the liquid splattering Damian in the face. Damian glared, his eyes narrowing, then angrily stood up to grab a washcloth and clean his new soda-covered face.

Dick (coughing a little, wide-eyed): I’m sorry, there was something in my soda. I wasn’t reacting to what you said, but um… his name again?

Stephanie (smitten, dreamily sighing): Kyle Rayner. He’s super cute, and he even finished my joke!

Cass (raising an eyebrow, intrigued): Oh, that’s actually a good sign. I know how you are with quips. What happened next?

Stephanie (lightly pounding her fist on her knee, excitement bubbling over): Flipping B literally walked me away from the guy. Then he made a joke about my favorite show using my hero name as a quip. I was ready to hand him my number, and then Batman carried me away!

Dick brought his hands together, silently thanking his father for getting her out of there. Stephanie took this as a sign he was on her team, her smile growing.

Stephanie (leaning in, conspiratorial): I know, right?! He is such an overprotective hero. I’m not even his kid like that!

Cass (nodding, understanding): Well, you know how Bruce is; he wants to keep his family safe. Be proud you’re part of it if he acts like that.

Dick (whispering, concerned, glancing away): You have no idea.

Stephanie (sighing dramatically, placing a hand over her heart): I might never get another chance to meet that hottie again! I could’ve taken my shot like Tim did with Konnor.

Dick grimaced, tapping his index fingers together, contemplating.

Dick (in his head, feeling uneasy): Konnor’s last girlfriend didn’t end up stuffed in a fridge.

Cass, oblivious to Kyle's past, placed a reassuring hand on Stephanie's shoulder for support, her eyes sparkling with a sudden idea.

Cass (stating the obvious, with enthusiasm, leaning closer): Why don’t you go talk to him?

Stephanie (rolling her eyes, sarcastically): Oh, yeah, sure!

Cassandra (encouragingly, grinning wider): What? Just tell him he’s cute and that you’d like to exchange numbers. What’s the worst that could happen?

Stephanie (worried, biting her lip): They could hear me and then laugh in my face.

Dick shook his head, his eyes wide and serious, keeping his thoughts to himself.

Dick (in his head, feeling a sense of dread): That’s not the worst that could happen.

Cass (smiling, reminiscing, softly nudging her): Come on, I did that with my current partner. She’s so sweet, too. It was worth it.

Stephanie (playfully teasing, raising an eyebrow): Oh, you aren’t with that guy anymore?

Cass shook her head with a small frown, her lips pressing together, but shrugged it off quickly.

Cass (sighing, dismissively): He turned out to be a bit of a sleazeball, but Jason and I dealt with him.

Stephanie (smiling warmly, her confidence returning): Aww, sibling goals. Hm, I will take your advice. Dick, do you know when Kyle—

Dick (interrupting, voice rising in alarm, backing away): Nope, nope, nope! I know nothing about him other than his name, and if I did, I’d still stay far, far away from him! Do not contact him, talk to him, or if you see him—run the other way!

Stephanie glanced at Cass, confused, but the girl shrugged back, equally perplexed.

Stephanie (shocked, eyes widening, incredulously): Freaking what?!

Dick (hastily, signaling he’s leaving, urgency in his tone): I have to talk to Bruce about a thing in a place. Bye!

Dick ran off to Bruce's office, needing to discuss Kyle Rayner with the caped crusader, who was already expecting him.
