Post Ep Ponderings January 4

Pierce and Rhona are reminding me more and more of my first real relationship and it's creepy af. Rhona probably just had the worst sex of her life. The, I didn't exactly consent, but I wasn't very firm about my no, kind of sex that makes you wonder what kind of 'no' actually works. It's fucking terrible. I had the thought pretty early on that she was going to say no, and once she did, I wondered the rest of the episode if that was going to be the thing that cracked Pierce again. Now I'm positive. All because of the very reasonable reaction that she wasn't ready to get married again yet. The worst part is, Pierce doesn't really know he's done anything wrong, so I'm betting this, or something like it happens again. I'm betting Paddy will end up saving her at some point while Chas is gone, but I don't think they're getting back together. Speaking of Chas and Paddy, those poor souls! They really are having a rough time trying to make a go of it. I do wonder if they're doing this because of Lucy going on Mat leave relatively soon. (Anyone know when she's actually off?) It's looking to me like they are planning on getting Paddy and Chas back together, but they need to pump the breaks a bit first until she's back on the show. Kudos to Sam for making me laugh with the Brokeback comment. I like the way Lisa is handling things with Zak. We all know that despite everything, she still loves him and it's got to be even harder with Belle all excited. Still, I hope she makes him live in the flat for a year before anything changes. I also hope Kerry really takes this chance Zak has given her and gets her life back on track. I'm sure this will still all come out, at least to Cain, I just hope by the time it does, she's proven that she's changed. I actually really like Kerry, but she needs to get her act together. Despite how bad they can be together, I'm glad that Liv and Gabby and their gromance (Is that what Robert said? Lol!) is back on. They're both a little messed up and I think, now that Gabby isn't quite so angry about her dad that they might actually be a really good team. Cheers to Pearl for being her typical old dottery self. I've read a few things in the past day or so about people thinking it's a really bad idea for Robert to have chosen Rebecca to help him with Aaron's Birthday surprise. There is some truth in that, mostly because Robert seems really stupid about situations like that. It's like he can't always read the nuances of a situation. I bet money if someone said something about maybe Rebecca isn't the best choice, he'd say something like 'what? I thought they were okay now?' Still, it doesn't bother me, at least not yet. This is just a ploy by ED to get the viewers to see what Aaron sees and create some drama. I don't actually think Robert is doing anything wrong, maybe just not something not very smart.
