My first piece for @statisticalcats2's event! There are so many amazing Grizabella but i have say my favorite is 98 Elaine Paige. Her Griz is exquisite, angry and hurting and desperate and proud. I adore her.

I'm really proud of this piece. This is my first attempt at something like this with my digital painting and I'm really proud of how it turned out.

I didn't intend for this to become a series but I'm pretty happy that it did. Some of the pieces mirror/reference each other bc I wanted them too (tugger and bomba being the big one, grizabella and jemima are going to mirror each other two bc of the show)

I was always fascinated by those fanarts with the words on the background, so i decided to give it a try. I’m really proud of how this turned out.

Understanding What Happiness Is (Acrylic and Oil on masonite, 2024)

I don't usually post art that I do for class here (mostly because I hate almost all of it), but this is probably my best oil painting I've ever made. And also it's Cats so. Wip photos under the cut!

Griz and Baby Griz 😸😿 (+ some rambling about Grizabella under the cut)

I like to imagine that even after being reborn, Jellicles still hold onto certain parts of their past lives while being cleansed of the things they were burdened by (ex. Demeter would be reborn as a protective and cautious cat, free from the constant fear of Macavity attacking. The Everlasting Cat is a generous beast); and as such, Grizabella would come back as a glamorous and worldly cat who loves to wander, while also recognizing that she can always find her heart back with the Jellicles. The rest of the clan would take extra care to make sure that Grizabella didn’t get swept up in whatever it was that initially drove her away from them (I’ve yet to decide what I believe that was), while also working their hardest to prove to her that she is now truly loved. Some of the cats maybe act a little guilty around her after her rebirth, though she can never seem to figure out why
