Enough gritty reboots of happy stories, let’s try happy reboots of gritty stories. I want Game of Thrones in the style of My Little Pony.

With the rise of SJHU, and even prior gritty tokusatsu reboots (Ultra N Project, Shin Kamen Rider: Prologue, The First/Next, Amazons, BLACK SUN. IDK much about kaijus, but there has to be one for Godzilla) I'm surprised there isn't any for the original Goranger. And would like it to remain that way tee bee haitch.

With all the DPxDC crossovers here I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone take a stab at giving Danny the Absolute treatment. That is, reimagining his story with one crucial element removed.

My pitch: Danny without the ghost zone.

In this universe, there is no separate dimension that only ghosts inhabit. They're all in our world but can't be seen by people most of the time.

Jack and Maddie still built the portal, believing in a ghost zone, but all it did was collect ambient ghost energy and release it onto Danny. After that it just went inert.

Not only is this a big change in how the DP universe works but it would give another challenge to Danny. He can't simply catch ghosts and release them into the Ghost Zone. Instead he's left with three options.

Help resolve the ghost's issues, letting them find peace and/or move on.

Destroy them.

Trap them in the thermos and leave them there until 1 or 2 are possible.

Being forced to keep ghosts imprisoned indefinitely or flat-out destroy them would take its toll on Danny, and depending on what his support system is like in this universe, could make things even worse for him.

It’s funny when the DC fans get annoyed that half the fandom hasn’t kept up with the entire extended DC universe and know everybody’s stories and backstories and different versions and shit

Danny Phantom had 3 seasons of 20 minute episodes and a handful of comics and most of us haven’t even seen that (and do not intend to 🙌)

Meanwhile people are being confused at me for Jack Fenton liking both fudge and also ham, which came up in every single episode I saw as a kid

Lol, there wasn't much more to it, but since I'm awake with migraine jetlag I'll give it a go.

Let's see: the shared house would be really dimly lit, like the batcave. They would have bleepy blinky panels that would only open if all four of them used their nuclear-code-looking keys

Are we still making poorly defined arabic terrorist organisations the big bad in gritty movies? (I admit, I haven't kept up). So they're a crack team of anti-terrorist agents who have a band, but they can never do gigs obviously. But they work out their frustrations and adrenaline by jamming together.

John and Ringo had a relationship a long time ago, but they Don't Let It Interfere With The Work. Until Ringo gets kidnapped by the racist stereotypes, at which point John endangers the whole team to rescue him.

George would definitely get a car chase scene. Paul would be mistaken for soft by a queer coded villain, whom he would kill in cold blood.

I'd love to hear any more ideas anyone has.

I can’t form a coherent thought because it’s the dead of night but like:

The brothers. The brother Gods. They came from a world of fairy tale simplicity and fairy tale morals. And then they went out into the great beyond and thought themselves so clever and so above their origins that they made their own tale with a more serious tone and twist.

You know how everything has a tailor fit place to belong in the Ever After? What if it was just a vast wilderness and the creations gotta figure that out themselves?

You know how creatures ascend and are reborn? What if they didnt? What if they were gone forever? They gotta pass down that knowledge while their alive or it’s lost forever.

What I’m trying to say is that The Brother Gods created a Gritty Reboot (TM) of the Ever After.

Remnant is in-universe “omg what if we made fairytales grimdark” and the in-universe characters of those fairytales then Disagreed and said “screw it, we are gonna write our own happy ending”

i didn't even like riverdale but the amount of people who don't understand that riverdale was never meant to be taken seriously astounds me. like all the adults are former soap opera stars. it's based on archie comics. it intentionally parodies teen dramas. it's like an infinitely stupider twin peaks for babies.

know: my memory is bad. i've been into wc for... well over a decade now, so these are probably not accurate xP my first warriors video was i believe a spoof video about ashfur and squirrelflight, but my first map and amv? uhhh unsure!

🗺 : first map you ever watched? - i didn't actively watch maps as a small kid, or at least i don't think i did? the first map that i entirely remember watching was during my second major warriors phase by the time i was closer to... 15 maybe?? as opposed to my earliest memories of wc which are from when i was 10 or younger lol. little fang, which is making me genuinely super misty eyed to rewatch, it's just so so good, from the style to the designs to how well it gets into jayfeather and his family with only animation and music, the composition of every part is so good, the designs, all of it. the sole reason little fang is one of my favorite songs to this day it might, miiight, have also been evelyn evelyn? that one was certainly one of the first maps i ever watched that stuck with me. the dovewing kinnie has entered chat

🖼 : first amv/pmv you ever watched? - i cannot remember. i watched sooo many amvs as a kid. not my FIRST amv, probably, but one of the earliest i recall is ashfur's revenge, which is delighting me so much to rewatch. this one was formative for me, i miss the style of flash-animated warriors amvs that (obviously:() aren't around anymore. i also have such a soft spot for tigerclaw is not one of thunderclan, one i was thinking about the Entire Time i was writing the exile scene in spottedfur's pride lol. i still love it so much, this is my first time rewatching it in like... a decade, im sure. its so good. im kind of blown away as i rewatch these that they ARE as good as they are, cuz i feel like it's common in the warriors fandom to treat old amvs as some cringeworthy lost art (in general i have strong opinions on how (unintentionally)cruel the internet starts being to things as soon as they enter "nostalgia" territory) - but there's still, like, genuine talent in these. there's a reason these amvs were as popular as they were, and not because we were all cringe 10 year olds who didn't know better, lol. also reminds me of tigerstar and the dog pack(be prepared) - which is one i have the most vivid memory of watching on my family computer, hehe. in general i love corvus katana's stuff, past and current oh my god i will never get this ask posted because i keep remembering ones that helped, like, form a lobe of my brain growing up. i. didnt expect to ramble as much as i did with this? i just can't put into enough words how formative warriors amvs and the like were for me growing up :'DD they were my major start for digital art and animation (something i did a lot when i was younger but fell out of over time, but god i'd love to animate again, maybe do a classic wc amv to spottedfur's pride or something lol)
