With grilled cheese it's acceptable to add 1 singular extra ingredient to it and still by rights call it a grilled cheese but now it's a ____grilled cheese. You add kimchi it's a kimchi grilled cheese, you add bacon it's a bacon grilled cheese
but WATCH OUT!
depending on what protein you add you've just turned your grilled cheese into a melt, as with the ubiquitous tuna and patty. And if you add 2 or more fillings other than the cheese, well then brother you've just got a grilled sandwhich and have strayed too far from God's light

dumb/random things skz would do while ur dating
a/n: don’t ask me what this is or why i came up w it these are just Thoughts That I Have Sometimes
-
chan: if he has spare time and gets bored, he’ll splice up voicemails or voice messages you’ve sent him to make you say random shit and then he sends it to you out of nowhere with absolutely zero context. it could be anywhere from the raunchiest, dirtiest things you’ve ever heard, to just straight up dumb things, to him making you say how amazing and great he is and how much you love him. either way, he thinks he’s hilarious
minho: literally just stares at you for no reason. you’re on your phone across the room and he’s staring. just deadpan staring. and once you notice and make eye contact he gives you a mean look like you were staring at him first and he’s mad about it. even after you look away, he’s still staring. if you ask what he wants he’ll be like “why tf are you staring at me?? get a hobby, freak”
changbin: actually expects you to open doors for him and pull out his chair and lay your jacket out over a puddle. if you don’t, he just stares at you and eyes the thing he wanted you to do for him. obviously you’d never put your jacket over a puddle when he could literally walk around it but he’ll scoff and dramatically roll his eyes and make some comment about “guess romance really is dead” or something dumb
hyunjin: maybe he used to actually sketch you really nicely at one point but now he’s comfortable with you and now the only times he draws you is a really rough and quick sketch that’s so poorly done and it’s always you making ugly faces and he just slides it over to you and goes “this is you rn" and it’s you looking very pissed off and with a unibrow and you’re shrimp-backing so hard
jisung: keeps making those powerpoint presentations for you about different topics but he only makes them between like 11pm-3am so the farther into it he gets, the weirder it gets and the less sense it makes. usually the topics don’t really make sense either, though. like the time he showed you ‘101 reasons why you should still love me as a worm :)’. but there was the time he presented you with ‘69 reasons why i love you’ and even though 25% of them were weird things like ‘your breath smells normal’ and ‘you haven’t committed a felony so i don’t have to have a long distance relationship with someone in prison’ you still thought it was pretty sweet
felix: if you think he won’t act like those cringey gamer couples, you’re so fucking wrong. whether he’s doing it ironically or seriously, he’s going to drag you into his shenanigans. your names on different games have to match. they’ve been shit like ‘their dps / his pocket’ and 'grilled cheese / tomato soup’ to unhinged things like ‘mike huchie / mike hunt’ and ‘blowing smoke / smoke’. he always thinks it’s so fucking funny but you want to die. your discord names are ‘their daddy / his kitten’ and whenever you change it, he changes it back
seungmin: he does literally anything and pretends it wasn’t him. plays with your hair while you’re cooking dinner, but when you turn to look at him, he looks around and starts whistling. he’ll knock your closed water bottle straight out of your hand for no reason and then shrug at you like it was the fucking wind. even when he kisses your cheek he’ll gasp and be like “who did that?”
jeongin: he’ll act cute or whatever when he wants something but god forbid you do it back. the amount of judging he’ll do will make you want to leave the house. “please don’t ever do that again, you’re embarrassing me” as if you didn’t just copy everything he’s ever done to you. he’s gone so far as to pretend he doesn’t know you out in public over this. only he can be cute to get his way. if you do it, it’s cringe

Stocking Stuffer 1/5: A Bajillion Random Painting Recolours
Happy Holidays to all! While I'm proud that last year I finally managed to achieve a longtime goal of sharing a full TS2 Advent Calendar, I'm simply not gonna be able to pull it off this year. Nonetheless, the holidlay spirit has encouraged me to finish up and share a couple of things before the end of the year! I'll be sharing five little gifts over the next few arbitrary days. First up: A BUNCH of Maxis painting recolours.
One recolour each of A/B/C Stroke (yes, I still enjoy playing with these as three separate paintings) using vintage matchbook covers designed by Saul Bass for The Ohio Match Company.
Two recolours +frames for Abstrutionism; "Poppy Cake" by Adolf Fényes (1910), and then this edit of Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth (1948) to include Bella Goth (the original Tumblr poster has deactivated).
A recolour of Anonymous Masterpiece with these two digital paintings by user chestnutroan featuring their farmer Sim and his two alien daughters.
One recolour of the Arghist Soldier with "Friday Nights" by Deborah DeWit (2006), perfect for your novel-enthusiast Sims' reading nook.
One recolour of City Skyline with a fruit & veg painting by Twitter user snail_soup (you can buy a real print of this too if you like it!)
One recolour of the Fourth Element wall scroll with "From Stardust to Stardust - Raccoon" by user ArtOfMienda.
Four Vegetables recoloured with four deliciously juicy tomato paintings by artist Leah Gardner.
Geometry 101 recoloured with a beautiful palette knife painting by Lynn Boggess.
Two recolours of Grilled Cheese (you all know what Grilled Cheese looks like, c'mon); one vintage ad for Hollywood Diet bread which I cleaned/redrew to remove text/graphics, and then "Cloud Rows" by Ivan Eyre (2004).
In The Beginning (+frame) recoloured with "Little Thief" by Courtney / Trash Kitty Art (also available as an affordable IRL print).
Kitten vs. Yarn (+frame) recoloured with this goache painting by user ieafy.
"Until Tonight" by Mark Grantham (2019) slapped on Lady On Red.
Two recolours of Living Room; "Midwestern Summer Fun" by user ink-the-artist (you may wanna zoom in for a surprise), then "Girl On A Swing" (2000) by Andrew Macara.
One recolour of Marketing Print with the Beatles as drawn by other Beatles. I don't remember who drew who because I'm actually not much of a Beatles fan but I thought these sketches were really darling.
In Memory of Johnny Gnome (+frame) recoloured with a piece by Emma Roulette.
A recolour of My First Holiday with art from Twitter user heikala_art.
On Pointed Toes (+frame) recoloured with this digital painting by Twitter user catwheezie.
I fell in love with this Guinness ad so I tweaked it from the photo to fit on the Route 66 poster, then made an accompanying Simlish option.
A single Scruffles recolour (+frame) with this adorable cow illustration by Twitter user poodlewool.
Four recolours of the Sim Noir pop art print; three pieces by Al Parker I found through this Tweet (with some English removed) and then an edit of the original painting to look passingly familiar...
Two recolours (+frames) of Snoozing Enemies; "The Cat on the Pillow" by Adolf von Becker, and "Sleeping Sasha" by Lena Rivo.
Stiller Life (+frame) recoloured with this oil painting of McDonalds by artist Noah Verrier.
Two recolours (+frames) of Stumped Hound; "Shadow" by Tianyi Zhou and "cat falling off table" by user anasauruss.
The Muse recoloured with this Juxtapoz magazine cover by artist Josh Courlas.
And lastly, three recolours of Untitled (the Bella Goth pop art painting) with works by Hiroshi Nagai.

people who complain about milo murphy’s law upsetting the phineas and ferb timeline/continuity are the weakest link in the fandom imo. like are you just going to ignore how fractured and inconsistent the pnf timeline already is?
doofenshmirtz gets a different ending depending on which episode you watch — the owca files or doof 101. and both of those contradict all the holiday episodes that take place after the summer but still have doof being evil. they progress from having flip phones to smart phones over the course of one summer. perry is consistently referred to as male but also sweats milk and is believed to be able to lay an egg (yes trans but also inconsistent writing). candace is once mentioned to be allergic to dairy but is then shown eating it dozens of times, her favorite food is even grilled cheese. there is a giant forcefield protecting the galaxy from aliens but they somehow get through it in catu.
the timeline was never consistent in the first place. it’s an episodic cartoon. get over it.

American painter Rae Klein (b. 1995) graduated in 2017 with a BFA in Painting from Eastern Michigan University. She continues to live and work in Michigan.
"When Klein was young, she liked drawing, but didn’t make anything of it. The idea of living as a working artist was a dream with no roadmap. Her father was a heavy equipment operator for Holland, a small city on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, who would plow the snow off the roads in the difficult Midwest winters. Her mother is an administrative assistant at a company that makes test chambers. When Klein graduated high school, she decided to study nursing at Eastern Michigan University, even as she sensed it wouldn’t work out.
“I was in nursing 101 and looking around at all these people, and I was thinking like, these people are going to be really good at this. And I’m starting to feel like maybe I’m not,” Klein told ARTnews the day before her exhibition at Silverman, titled “The Comfort in Calamity,” opened.
Just after starting college, she began working as an illustrator for campus dining, which included such tasks as drawing the school mascot eating a grilled cheese. The experience opened her eyes to the idea that art could be a legitimate career path, so she enrolled in an art class.
“That was my first experience with painting and it was such a weight off my shoulders to be like, Okay, maybe this is a real thing,” said Klein."

Dear Future self,
I can’t believe Kat did that to me. She told everyone that I liked grilled cheese way too much. I don’t even like it a little bit, why would she tell people that?

Begnion Year 625 - Massacre of Serenes forest, the people of the Begnion massacred the herons of Serenes as ‘revenge’ for an empress the herons never murdered; Reyson and his father were, at the time, assumed to be the only survivors; rescued by King Tibarn of Phoenicis and sheltered along with his father within the kingdom of hawks

The Dog Biscuits recipe belongs to the Wolf family. From the color, it's likely vanilla cookies shaped like bones with a woof stamped on them.

Watermelon stars in creative recipes
Grilled Watermelon and Kale Salad: The sweet and smoky grilled watermelon is a great balance to the nutrient-dense and bitter dinosaur kale. (National Watermelon Promotion Board)
Check out my latest column
One of my jobs when visiting my parents is to unload the groceries from the trunk of the car; keep in mind, Mom is in her late 80s and Dad will be 92 in a few weeks. Dad couldn’t wait to cut up the 15-pound watermelon he carefully chose once I gently put it on the counter.
While carrying the large, seedless melon into the kitchen, I was thinking about some creative recipes incorporating the fruit. Or perhaps vegetable? It is a much-debated discussion. Botanically, it is a cousin to cucumbers, pumpkins and squash.
I am intrigued by the watermelon recipes in the food publications I read. With summer being the peak season of its consumption in the U.S., it is time to celebrate with a juicy slice and prepare creative recipes. (National Watermelon Day was Aug. 3.) Thanks to countries like Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras that experience summer during our winter, watermelon can be enjoyed all year.
In my culinary travels, I’ve noticed that restaurants have incorporated watermelon as a featured ingredient in their dishes. It is among the fastest-growing “fruits” in terms of use on food-service menus, having grown by 54% in the past few years, according to a recent menu trends study commissioned by the National Watermelon Promotion Board.
According to the Board, 65% of food service operators feature fresh watermelon on the menu, up from 38% in 2020 and 50% in 2022. One in 10 restaurants serving alcoholic beverages feature a drink containing watermelon, more than doubling in the last 10 years.

• Watermelon is grown in more than 96 countries worldwide. The USA ranks seventh in production; China is first.

• Watermelon is 92% water.
• By weight, watermelon is the most-consumed melon in the U.S., followed by cantaloupe and honeydew.
• Watermelon doesn’t contain any fat or cholesterol, is an excellent source of vitamins A, B6 and C and contains fiber and potassium.
• Watermelon is approximately 70% flesh and 30% rind.
• Watermelon is considered both a fruit and a vegetable; it is the state vegetable of Oklahoma.
• Every part of a watermelon is edible, even the seeds and rind. Zero food waste!

Watermelon Rind Stir Fry
The headnote says: “Next time you buy a whole watermelon, reserve the watermelon rind for this ingenious recipe. The rind will soften and quickly absorb the flavor of your sauce. Add shrimp, tofu or chicken for an extra protein boost!”
Serves 4
Ingredients:
2 teaspoons sesame oil
2 cups watermelon rinds, julienned (white part only, from about ½ of a seedless watermelon)
1 cup julienned carrots
½ cup chives, cut into 3-inch pieces
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon fish sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1 inch piece of ginger, minced
½ cup fresh basil leaves, torn
¼ cup mint leaves
¼ cup cilantro leaves
Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions:
Heat sesame oil in a wok over high heat. Add the watermelon rind and carrots and stir fry, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes. Let sit over high heat for 1 additional minute without stirring.
Add the chives and stir to combine.
In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, fish sauce, garlic and ginger.
Pour the sauce over the watermelon rind and cook, stirring, 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant.
Transfer to a serving dish. Add the basil, cilantro, and mint, tossing to combine.
Sprinkle with red pepper flakes, if desired, and serve as a side dish.
Watermelon Pomegranate Green Tea
Makes 6-8 servings
Ingredients:
4 cups watermelon puree
2 cups pomegranate juice
4 cups strong prepared and chilled green tea
1 cup white grape juice
Ice for serving
Directions:
Mix ingredients together in a large container (except ice) and chill well. Stir before serving and serve over ice.
Spicy Watermelon Hummus
The headnote says: “What if you could have a delicious snack and it was good for you, too? Well, you can. This hummus is packed with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant goodies, while being low-fat, low-calorie and the best hummus you have ever tasted! It also makes a great sandwich spread or topping for bruschetta. Extra virgin olive oil is the best to use here, since it is a good source of healthy fat and antioxidants.”
Makes 1 1/2 cups
Ingredients:
1 large clove garlic
2 heaping tablespoons of diced red onion
¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
1/3 cup watermelon juice (liquefy watermelon in a blender)
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
½ teaspoon lemon peel
¼ teaspoon each: ground cumin, coriander, ground ginger, paprika and turmeric
1 15-ounce can chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained and washed
Salt and pepper to taste
¼ cup diced watermelon
Parsley sprigs
Directions:
Mince garlic in a food processor. Add onion and parsley and blend until fully minced. Add the rest of ingredients and blend until smooth.
Refrigerate for at least a half-hour to allow flavors to blend. Garnish with diced watermelon and parsley sprigs. Serve with pita bread, baked chips or baby carrots.
Watermelon Strawberry Shake
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
1 container (8 ounces) lemon nonfat yogurt
2 cups cubed, seeded watermelon
1 pint fresh strawberries, cleaned and hulled
1 medium banana, peeled and sliced
Directions:
In blender or food processor, process yogurt, watermelon, strawberries and banana until smooth and frothy. Serve immediately.
Kids Watermelon Sandwich Cookies
Serves 6
Ingredients:
12 blueberry pancakes (3-inch round), cooled to room temperature
½ cup white frosting
6 seedless watermelon slices (2/3-inch thick, 3-inch round), drained to remove excess moisture
Directions:
Evenly frost bottom of each pancake with white frosting. Arrange six pancakes frosting side up on serving platter. Place one slice watermelon on each frosted pancake. Top each with remaining pancakes, frosting side down. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Savory Watermelon “Pizza”
Servings will vary
The headnote says: “Paired with savory ingredients like prosciutto and goat cheese, this savory “pizza” skips the bread to make watermelon the new star. Use any cheese and/or meat of your choice — some classic watermelon pairings include feta, bleu, parmesan and mozzarella.”
Ingredients:
Watermelon round cut 1-inch thick (for crust)
Goat cheese
Prosciutto
Balsamic
Greens of choice (we used arugula)
Pepper to taste
Directions:
In a small bowl mix goat cheese and heavy whipping cream to make it spreadable. Spread goat cheese to cover watermelon, leaving room to hold the rind.
Place prosciutto then greens as toppings on watermelon pizza as desired.
Drizzle balsamic glaze on watermelon pizza. Pepper to taste.
Watermelon Rind Pickles
The headnote says: “Created by Chef Dave Wooley for the National Watermelon Promotion Board, these watermelon rind pickles leave the slightest bit of red flesh for a beautiful color and taste experience.”
Makes about 2 cups
Ingredients:
4 cups water
1 tablespoon coarse salt
2 cups peeled watermelon rind (leave a thin layer of pink) cut into 1-inch by 1/2-inch by 2-inch pieces
¾ cups granulated sugar
1 each of all spice berries
½ cup cider vinegar
4 each peppercorns
4 whole cloves
½ teaspoon pickling spice
1 long slice of fresh ginger root
¼ teaspoon celery seeds
Directions:
In large pot, bring water and salt to boil over medium high heat. Add rind pieces and boil until tender, about 5 minutes. Strain. Transfer rinds to large metal bowl.
In saucepan, combine all of the other ingredients and spices. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Simmer for 15 minutes, until slightly reduced. Pour over watermelon rinds in bowl. Place plate over top to keep rinds submerged in liquid. Cover and refrigerate for one day. Transfer to a glass jar and keep sealed in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Serving suggestion: enjoy with your favorite deli meats and cheeses, perhaps with other pickled veggies.
