Thinking of an "In The Mood For Love" au with Biggri (since I just watched the movie)

Where Grian is Mrs. Chan and Bigb is Mr. Chow.

Grian rents out a room in a tiny apartment in the bustling city (of British Hongkong 1962) for him and his husband, Scar, who is currently working abroad.

Coincidentally, BigB is moving next door at the same day. And through the chaos of movers moving in their items and sometimes getting their stuff confused, they meet.

Hints and Signs start to show of their missing lovers being unfaithful. Of missed messages and unresponsive meetings.

He spends his nights buying takeout, passing by BigB who's also alone to eat out. As the two kept meeting each other, a chat eventually led to eating out together. In a nice restaurant instead of their usual evening street food.

Bigb asks where Grian got his bag, he replied 'his husband got it for him on a business trip abroad'.

Grian asks where he got his tie, Bigb replies back 'his husband got it for him on a business trip abroad'.

What a coincidence. It seemed. But they both knew the truth. Ren had a bag exactly like Grian's and Scar had a tie exactly like BigB. Their husbands were having an affair. And they bond over their shared grief.

They try to figure out how or why the affair might have started and in the process grow closer and closer, till eventually they fall in love.

But that's the thing about 'In The Mood For Love', it is merely a memory. A secret carved in a tree of a land oh so far away from their memories.

Bigb may have left Ren but Grian could never bear to part with Scar. Though his heart flutters for another, all those years of loving the man could never be erased. And Bigb knew that, and neither crossed that line. Their soft touches, frequent glances, the taste of cookies, hugs, cuddles, late night talks and long walks; they basked in each other's comfort without ever considering their feelings for each other. Until it was too late, and one had to leave the other. Wistfully hoping that one day, they might meet again.

Do you have any grigb headcanons?

OH SO MANY YOU HAVE NO CLUE!.

OK so i headcannon BigB as a great baker. so because they're often on different servers they can't always see each other. So every time they meet up to go on a date BigB always brings grian a HUGE package of sweets and things he made.

I imagine grian always feels like he has to return the favor so grian is always giving him shines. BigB dosent really understand the importance of the small colorful bits of plastic and pebbles that grian gets him but he keeps them all anyways.

Nothing is off the table for grian to get for bigb. often times grian tries to be super elaborate with his plans to the point he forgets about actually spending time w/bigb

Whenever grian is molting he gets super insecure about his pin feathers and how he looks patchy. At the beginning of their relationship grian wouldn't let bigb come near him because he thought Bigb would think he's ugly or disgusting. However now bigb is the first person he goes to when he first notices his molt.

Bigb tries not to put too much sugar into his sweets because he knows that grian will end up covering it in sugary toppings.

Bigb, as a human, is the always there to defend hybrids. If anyone says anything bad about hybrids around him you better catch these carefully worded lectures about prejudice.

Bigb isn't even close to a fighter. grian on the other hand is the furthest thing from a lover.

Bigb is a really bad lier so he cannot keep a secret so if he ever plans anything for grian as a surprise he has to avoid him till it's done because the chances are he will spill the beans

i want mumbo to wonder if grian remembers that he stole grian's soul, and didn't that mean anything, that mumbo chose his soul?

i want scar to fall in love during 3rd life, only for grian to pretend like he never loved him back

i want scar and mumbo to be such great friends, too, and they feel like they can always rely on each other and that they understand each other

i want scar and mumbo to quietly resent each other, because grian loves scar more than he loves mumbo, because grian will always choose mumbo over scar

i want mumbo to realize he might love scar, but he doesn't know what to do about it, so he simply does nothing, because isn't scar in love with grian, not him?

i want scar to be so utterly convinced that grian and mumbo are destined only for each other, he can't fathom himself being apart of either of their lives, even though he tasted it, he tasted it, just for a second, in 3rd life (a world without mumbo)

and i want them all to be friends despite it all. despite all the resentment and the bitterness that's build up over the years. that lays lurking under the surface. they stay friends forever.

And it burns because they want to be something more.
