Honestly, the life series gods seem to be homophobic Grian keeps wanting to team up w BigB (like in 3rd life and last life) and he keeps ending up somewhere else. Like the life series gods just want to split those two up.

Thinking of an "In The Mood For Love" au with Biggri (since I just watched the movie)

Where Grian is Mrs. Chan and Bigb is Mr. Chow.

Grian rents out a room in a tiny apartment in the bustling city (of British Hongkong 1962) for him and his husband, Scar, who is currently working abroad.

Coincidentally, BigB is moving next door at the same day. And through the chaos of movers moving in their items and sometimes getting their stuff confused, they meet.

Hints and Signs start to show of their missing lovers being unfaithful. Of missed messages and unresponsive meetings.

He spends his nights buying takeout, passing by BigB who's also alone to eat out. As the two kept meeting each other, a chat eventually led to eating out together. In a nice restaurant instead of their usual evening street food.

Bigb asks where Grian got his bag, he replied 'his husband got it for him on a business trip abroad'.

Grian asks where he got his tie, Bigb replies back 'his husband got it for him on a business trip abroad'.

What a coincidence. It seemed. But they both knew the truth. Ren had a bag exactly like Grian's and Scar had a tie exactly like BigB. Their husbands were having an affair. And they bond over their shared grief.

They try to figure out how or why the affair might have started and in the process grow closer and closer, till eventually they fall in love.

But that's the thing about 'In The Mood For Love', it is merely a memory. A secret carved in a tree of a land oh so far away from their memories.

Bigb may have left Ren but Grian could never bear to part with Scar. Though his heart flutters for another, all those years of loving the man could never be erased. And Bigb knew that, and neither crossed that line. Their soft touches, frequent glances, the taste of cookies, hugs, cuddles, late night talks and long walks; they basked in each other's comfort without ever considering their feelings for each other. Until it was too late, and one had to leave the other. Wistfully hoping that one day, they might meet again.

Do you have any grigb headcanons?

OH SO MANY YOU HAVE NO CLUE!.

OK so i headcannon BigB as a great baker. so because they're often on different servers they can't always see each other. So every time they meet up to go on a date BigB always brings grian a HUGE package of sweets and things he made.

I imagine grian always feels like he has to return the favor so grian is always giving him shines. BigB dosent really understand the importance of the small colorful bits of plastic and pebbles that grian gets him but he keeps them all anyways.

Nothing is off the table for grian to get for bigb. often times grian tries to be super elaborate with his plans to the point he forgets about actually spending time w/bigb

Whenever grian is molting he gets super insecure about his pin feathers and how he looks patchy. At the beginning of their relationship grian wouldn't let bigb come near him because he thought Bigb would think he's ugly or disgusting. However now bigb is the first person he goes to when he first notices his molt.

Bigb tries not to put too much sugar into his sweets because he knows that grian will end up covering it in sugary toppings.

Bigb, as a human, is the always there to defend hybrids. If anyone says anything bad about hybrids around him you better catch these carefully worded lectures about prejudice.

Bigb isn't even close to a fighter. grian on the other hand is the furthest thing from a lover.

Bigb is a really bad lier so he cannot keep a secret so if he ever plans anything for grian as a surprise he has to avoid him till it's done because the chances are he will spill the beans

It happens while he’s walking through the forest, on the way back to his and Scar’s shelter. He’s got a bad feeling in his gut, with the sudden appearance of more yellow lives. And the second red life duo…

Grian shudders with dread, he needs some kind of action plan to get Joel and Etho off their backs and fast.

He’s deep in thought, trying to form any sort of plan he can with the constraints of time when hands grab his shoulders from behind. He screams, startled, and whirls around to face whoever it is, sword drawn. Adrenaline pumps through his veins, heart sounding in his ears.

What he sees is a blue sweater, and two hands help up for Grian to clearly see. “Easy there Grian, it’s just me.” At the sound of his secret soulmate’s voice, the tension from his shoulders eases, and he lowers his sword.

“Bigb, you scared the life out of me!” Grian exclaims, drawing a chuckle from the red life. He takes a good look at the other, finding that his posture seems tense, uneasy. It makes Grian frown, seeing a nervous glint in Bigb’s eyes. “Something tells me this isn’t just a quick smooch and run, is it?” He asks.

“Am I that obvious?” Bigb chuckles once more, but it sounds tight. Nervous.

Images from another world flash in Grian’s mind, multiple worlds in fact. His heart squeezes in his chest, and his hand twitches, wanting to reach out for Bigb’s and hold it.

He settles for a small, terribly fond smile instead, “Only to me.” Grian responds cheekily, and Bigb cracks a smile.

He takes a breath, glancing around before his gaze settles on Grian once more. “Okay, the pool party that Impulse and Bdubs are hosting? Don’t go to it.” Bigb says strictly, and Grian raises a brow.

“Oh?” He hums, “But I’ve already gotten a swimsuit and everything. Got myself a nice pair of trunks, parrot themed.” It’s clearly a joke, with the way Grian says it, but his words only serve to make Bigb’s expression tighten.

Bigb takes both of Grian’s hands in his own, holding them tight and close to his chest. “Grian if you go you will die. Promise me you won’t go.” He says; and his tone is just short of begging. Bigb pleads with his eyes, letting his desperation to protect his secret soulmate do all of the talking.

It startles Grian, just how fiercely Bigb wants to protect him. His heart jumps, and he moves his hands to hold Bigb’s in return. “I won’t, I promise.” He swears, and Bigb looks at him. “I swear it, I won’t! I swear on your cookie!” Grian laughs and Bigb laughs softly with him.

Taking a step closer to him, Bigb gently knocks their foreheads together. With him this close, Grian can smell a faint scent of vanilla and sugar, with the slightest twinge of chocolate. “Good.” Bigb breathes, nodding against him.

Grian looks at him, biting his lip with a bit of hesitance. But before he can talk himself out of it, he lifts himself up and presses their lips together in a chaste kiss. He’d love to kiss Bigb proper, but they’re working on limited time.

So he pulls back, giggles at Bigb’s flustered expression. “Thank you for the heads up, secret soulmate.” He grins before pulling himself away. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have two red lives to earn the favor of.”

Bigb stands and watches him run off, a little smile on his face. It’s gone as he turns around, heading for his and Ren’s base.
