dude i NEED to tell you that reading your posts about scott has been a breath of fresh air. like, GOD, i always see him hated on, called manipulative, controlling, bossy, interfering, and all sorts of stupid shit. both c!scott and Scott Major the Real Life Man. i've sort of come to the conclusion that this fandom MUST have some sort of internalized homophobia thing going on because somehow i just dont think its a coincidence that the only Out Gay Man in the life series is the one who gets hated on the most.

and in shipping especially! personally ive never been a fan of ranchers, its not my cup of tea, but i have seen so many ranchers fans who wont have the same courtesy for fh enjoyers. so many people hate on the ship and call it 'toxic', adopting this sort of puritan lense about shipping ONLY when scott's involved. bcause then you look at a ship like scarian where they LITERALLY beat each other to death, pretty much, and yeah sure there are people who call that 'toxic' too but when SCARIAN is toxic it's Cute and Angsty. and grian's just a Grump who's a little Mean sometimes but its ok bc he has trauma!!!!!!!

and then when scott's rude to jimmy in a similar capacity, all of a sudden he's Abusive and Manipulative and Horrible, and shipping fh is Morally Wrong and makes you a bad person. the amount of takes like this that i've seen from people who then act like desert duo is, by the same measure, completely morally okay is baffling.

sorry to send such a long ask!! it's just really refreshing to finally see someone besides my beloved friend Shrimply Lemonade who understands how fucking awful this fandom is towards scott sometimes haha

I’m so glad that my posts can bring some ease to people!! It’s absolutely an internalized homophobia thing. The same people who call Scott “manipulative”, “toxic”, or “abusive” never call out Joel, Grian, or fWhip for being so much worse than Scott. When it’s an ACTUALLY out gay man, it’s toxic and manipulative and bad. When it’s two straight guys, it’s cute or hot.

Scott doesn’t do anything differently from anyone else other than be an openly gay and flamboyant man, yet he’s the only one who gets demonized. People need to understand that it is targeted. If it weren’t targeted, you would be calling a whole ton of your favorite creators “manipulative”, “toxic”, and “abusive”.

(Wow, that's a long post)

I see so many people who like creating explanations about Hermitcraft/Life series, creating tons of lore and interpret relationships. Especially with Life series, because it's half roleplay server and has a lot of plot and stories potential. Do people remember their previous life? Do they die and reborn? Do they remember each other, do they have scars from previous death? All that lore stuff.

I'm just.. I don't know. I guess I'm not a big fan of more serious roleplay and don't really think about relationships between characters, or the world of Life series itself.

For me it's all just minecraft servers where friends can play and talk and laugh. When I watch Life series, I imagine not characters, but real people. When Scar is talking, I imagine actual irl Scar, sitting on the computer with microphone and talking with his salesman grin. They remember previous seasons and don't think about it as lore, they just remember good times from the past. And after an end of the season they all are in one big group in discord discussing, laughing and talking how they will edit the episode.

Basically, that's the reason, why I animate only funny moments and often draw the irl side of hermits. I would love to draw something more "serious" or create a dramatic amv and be a part of this fandom community, but sadly it's not really my vibe.

In their videos hermits talk a lot about their life and wifes and maybe children.

I remember when Scar wanted to ask something to Xisuma who was afk, Xisuma said, he heard Scar through the headphones across the room. And I imagine actual human Xisuma, his room, microphone, how he rushes through that said room to quickly join the game.

I actually think a lot about irl side of hermits.

I imagine Grian sitting in the living room and doing taxes. Impulse loads the dishwasher. Doc plays with Doccy and teach them about pigeons and sparrows. Joel's in a grocery store decides if he should buy more expensive cheese this time or buy the usual. Mumbo watching videos and procrastinating to go do laundry. Xisuma writes articles about new songs and having a little art block while creating his own music.

I drew irl Grian so many times lol. I really like the irl side of youtubers, they feel more alive.

I don't really know how some hermits (and other people) look, but I still try to imagine them.

So that's why I won't do any lore or angsty animatics. But I still like a lot of AU fanarts, if they are drawn really good or interesting.

So because of all that I feel a little bit outside of the fandom... Like, everyone are having fun, sharing theories, fascinating AUs, drawing cool fanarts for each others. And I'm like.. not into that, I'm sorry. I still want to talk to all of you! I just can't really contribute. So here are my lighthearted funny animatics with 0% angst and where people are nothing more than just good friends on minecraft server.

I believe, people like me don't really watch fanarts or animatics and don't actually know about this whole side of the fandom. I wonder how many of them are here on tumblr ot twitter.

TRUST ISSUES - Grian x Reader

Warnings: Angsty (kind of), blood, wounds and injuries, wild animals (wolves), and of course death.

Note: This is based on The Life Series and can be read as part of any season. Grian has wings and Reader is allies with Cleo.

My first mcyt fic!! English isnt my first language so i'd appreciate if you stay kind ♡. Might make a part 2, most likely not though.

A small gasp escapes your mouth, the sting of the cold air coming in contact with your wounded thighs was slowly getting to you. Not only that, dusk was slowly creeping in and night in the mountains wasn’t a fun time.

“I’m serious! please just cooperate will ya’. I’m carrying you back home whether you like it or not.” Grian kept on insisting

“I told you I don’t want to!” You weren’t quite sure how to tell him, that your crippling anxiety and trust issues simply don’t trust him enough to not drop you a hundred miles up in the sky.

“Don’t tell me you’re scared of heights” He questioned in disbelief

“Am not” You defended

“Then why wont you just let me fly you home?”

“Its just-” You wanted to trust him. But after all that’s happened, you don’t think its possible anymore. And to put yourself in such a vulnerable place is asking for a death wish.

“Do you not trust me?”

Silence befell upon the two of you. Your heartbeat was racing, trying to supply your body with the blood it need that was constantly being loss due to the huge scratch that was causing you excruciating pain.

The whisper of the wind filled the surrounding area, along with the hum of leaves and snow. You looked at Grian in the eyes, and you knew he understood what your silence meant.

"Well then, I’ll be off to hunt." You said, putting on your boots

"Be back before night; they might be around. And try to only go after passive creatures, you know how wild animals can be" Cleo advised

"Alright, alright." You wave, making your way out the front door.

You were halfway up the mountain when you realized you'd forgotten to bring a shield.

"Oh well, already up here, might as well continue," you sighed.

Little did you know that letting that slip would cause a catastrophe.

You extended your arm to fire another arrow. You preferred to hunt from a distance, seeing as you haven’t got a shield to protect yourself. You reach to your waist, where the pouch containing all your arrows was, but to your surprise, there was none left. What an unlucky day you whine to yourself after coming to the conclusion you didn’t refill it the last time you foraged.

After getting over your mistake, you approach your now-dead target to get the resources you needed. You reach down to grab the miss-shot arrow by its side in case you might need it again, and as you do, lurking behind you was a pack of hungry wolves looking for their dinner.

In the snowy alp you were in, the song of the snow and occasional rustling of leaves is all there was to hear, so the low growl and sound of steps were definitely noticeable, but you weren’t able to react quick enough.

As you turn around to the woods, a wolf pounced on you. The wild animal’s claw dug into your thighs; it retracted its paw, making the scratch bigger than it already is almost reaching up to your knees.

You skillfully draw your sword, swinging it across the wolf’s chest giving you time to get back on your feet and retreat. But the rest of the wolves wouldn’t let you get away so easily.

As fast as you could, you ran to the woods to hide. You knew it’d be damn near impossible to make the wolves lose track of you because of their unmatched sense of smell, plus the trail of blood your leaving but you had to try. You can’t die a coward.

The rest of the pack swiftly chase after you, their large paws leaving prints on the ground, their claws and fangs ready to attack.

A smaller but faster wolf got to you, but after slashing it with your sword it backed-out. Soon after, the rest of the unfriendly gang retreated after discerning that you weren’t such an easy target.

You didn’t want to take any chances so you continued to run, the adrenaline in your blood was pumping making the wound barely noticeable but soon enough it started aching. the unbearable snowy terrain made it more and more difficult to run, and the possibility of running into another wild animal made you anxious. There was no decision or choice to be made, however. The only correct answer was to run.

After figuring you had gotten pretty far from the scene of injury, you stopped to catch your breath. Near a cliffside you took a seat, weapon still in- hand, just in case.

You heaved out a big sigh and closed your eyes for a while. Moments after, you regained a bit of energy and stood up, though your legs weren’t quite ready to walk. You turned your head to look back at the forest, where you saw a figure in the distance.

‘huh… didn’t know hallucinations were a side effect of wounds.' You whisper to yourself.

"Hey [reader]! "Is that you?" A familiar voiced called out. the figure now running towards you. Once again the adrenaline started kicking in. Surely, they aren’t here to kill you.

In the cruel game you were in, it was every player for themselves. Past friendships were barely taken into consideration and if they were, most of the time it would end in betrayal. With only a few hours left before you turn red, you too were starting to get desperate.

“What happened here? are you alright?” He said, wings drooped down. He tried to approach you further, taking small steps to where you were stood.

“No! don’t get any closer.” You step back, using your bad leg accidentally, causing you to whimper.

“It’s alright, I wont hurt you. I’m only here to help.” he claimed

You sneered to yourself. After all the deaths he directly and indirectly caused, it was quite reasonable for you to be wary of him. But your brief alliance and agreement during the start of this world made you ponder if he means the truth.

“Ah that looks bad; you’re losing too much blood.”

“Yeah, obviously.”

“Come on, I’ll fly you back.”

You were stunned by his words, and shocked at how much he thinks you trust him. For him to fly you home, to bring you up in the sky, hundreds above the ground, is basically giving him the opportunity to drop you and gain more for himself.

“I’d rather bleed to death, thank you.” you said in a monotone voice.

“I’m serious.”

You cant help but take a step back despite having a cliff behind you. “You have it wrong Grian, I am not afraid of heights, nor am I afraid of anything.”

“I am too.”

”Well, I think I’d rather have you be upset about heights than have you dead. So stay still because I’m carrying you back.” Grian said, moving forward and reaching over to grab hold of you.

“Then what’s all the fuss about?”

The moment you’ve been dreading, to tell him four simple words ‘I don’t trust you’. This game is one man for themself. No feelings or emotions have to be taken into consideration, and all relationships are out the door, yet you cant help but be disheartened to tell him the truth.

“Its- Its just…” You cant find the words, a thousand voices are speaking in your head yet the one you have doesn’t have anything to say.

“Do you not trust me?”

“…”

“If you stay here, you have zero chances of getting out alive. If you go with me, at least there’s still a slither of hope.”

“With the way you say it, you make sound so easy.”

“I just want to help. And to put justice to the agreement we made at the beginning”

You recall the start of this world, where all the worries of death are far, and alliances are being built. Now’s the complete opposite.

“Grian, this game is life or death. Trust is more rare than diamonds you should remember.” you murmur.

“And more valuable. I know with all the disasters and chaos I’ve caused, its hard to trust me. But just this once please let me help. After this, we owe each other nothing.”

You couldn’t keep up the facade you were putting on. You knew you needed help, and you were willing to trust him. ‘Just this once’ you promise yourself knowing damn well it won’t the last.

oh hey, angsty mumbo AU idea!

I had this idea a few months ago where Mumbo was the only one who didn't make it out from season 8. The idea was that his suit got caught on something and ripped, so when they fell into the void, mumbo was the only one who died and respawned back in boatem.

well, the world gets destroyed and mumbo has nothing to do. hes all alone, all other hermits are gone, maybe even in season 9! mumbo is lonely and hes in a constant death loop- he has no clear water to drink, no food, nothing that could keep him alive. its just a miserable life of trying to survive where its impossible. the world was destroyed, all crops gone, all animals dead.

so, mumbo, tired of dying over and over again of starvation decides that hey, what do i need my stomach for! its not like i have anything to eat here! so he replaces it with a mechanical part. open surgery on himself and all.

but then- more problems arise. i mean, his body needs food and water, but his stomach now doesnt need it! and hey, he has breathing issues because of the dirty air, so why not replace the lungs next!

and slowly but surely, mumbo replaces almost everything with redtone and mechanical parts.

at some point, mumbo decides its not worth it. he cant kill himself, he has no way out of here and he has no one to spend the eternity with. so, he decides that hey, if he just... turns himself off, it wont be a problem! his consciousness wont exist anymore! he wont have to think!

so he does exactly that.

meanwhile in season 9, grian and the rest of the hermits are worried sick. everyone is there but mumbo. so for the next months, grian makes the rift and tries to make it function.

and when he does and tries to bring mumbo back- he gets someone, who spent years completely alone, constantly dying.

Grian takes a shuddering breath, Scar’s words tilting him off his axis; his heart beats a tumultuous rhythm against his ribs, something feral and rioting. It still hurts, to be treated so gently, but unlike everything else, it hurts in a way he thinks he might be able to survive.

giggling to myself bc the characterization of life series grian in the witnesses au is so different from the canon life series characterization. in canon he's so angsty and torn, while in withesses he's just here to make people suffer and be an overall nuisance. after creating a hunger games esque death game, putting chips in strangers' brains, forcing them to die many many times, emotionally manipulating his teammate for months, and winning the game he kills himself for the drama

Traffic/Evo Watcher headcanon, don't mind me

Ok, so we've known awhile now that the next season of the Life series is going to be released soon, so naturally I've been re-watching the previous seasons and going over POVs I hadn't seen before. While going down this rabbit hole I came across a Martyn stream I missed where he was talking about the Watchers lore and how he and Grian worked on it for Evo and then he kind of altered it from what Grian originally imagined (i.e. the Watchers being representative of us, the audience, who watch them for entertainment) to the more sinister lore we Traffic connoisseurs are familiar with today. This got me thinking. A lot. Too much even. What if we, the audience, were STILL the Watchers? I'm not talking about for the Life series or Evo series specifically, I'm thinking more broad spectrum, like across the MCYT multiverse type thing. I like a cohesive story, and I like puzzles, and when there are stories that look like they could be pieces of a bigger puzzle I enjoy smooshing them together in one giant headcanon that more or less makes sense, so here we go.

The canon lore we have (as I understand it anyway) is as follows: the Watchers first made themselves known during Evo, where they messed with the Evolutionists as they went through each Minecraft update, ultimately separating them for the final dragon fight where Grian would leave Evo and become a Watcher himself. From there the Listeners (who I know diddly squat about) got involved and helped the Evolutionists escape the Evo server, thus getting them away from Watcher influence. Or so they hoped. The Watchers somehow regained power over the Players that were involved in Evo, along with some of their friends, and put them in what is essentially a never-ending loop of death games as punishment for their defiance. Grian didn't like how the Watchers operated, so he left them to join his friend in the death games. The Watchers feed off the Players' negative emotions, but leave their memories, thus enabling them to start fresh each season without holding on to previous grudges (though considering Impulse's thing with BDubs and the clock and Tango's rage that might not be entirely effective)

This is where my headcanon comes in. The Watchers are a group of people/sentient beings of some kind who feed off of the negative emotions of others and watch their misery and struggles for entertainment. They're a mischievous bunch, some might even say troll-like (of the internet variety, not like in fairy tales), and at least two of them enjoy speaking in rhyme, i.e. they're artistic and dramatic. Sound familiar? Because to me this description sounds very much like the wider MCYT fanbase, especially the fan artists/writers. I mean come on, when have we NOT jumped at the opportunity to turn a pretty normal moment into the angstiest piece of writing/art imaginable. Case in point, Mumbo and Grian at the ghast farm in Last Life. They were giggling through that whole interaction, yet I've watched SEVERAL angsty animatics about just that one scene and I've loved every second of it.

This next bit is likely a pretty big reach, but the thought popped into my head and wouldn't go away so I would just like to get it out there. Grian doesn't really interact with his comments on an individual basis, but he definitely has addressed the more negative ones, especially the ones that go after his friends when they're on an opposing side of whatever war he's started at that moment in time. This ties in pretty well with him not liking the way the Watchers operate in my opinion, and it also ties in with him leaving the Watchers to help his friends. Not necessarily directly, but more in the sense of the vibes matching up.

We currently don't know enough about the Watchers to definitively say how plausible this headcanon of mine is, like we don't know exactly how many Watchers there are, or how many Listeners there are, or what separates a Watcher from a Listener, or really any info about the Listeners in general. I do think it's a pretty fun headcanon though, and until it is directly contradicted this is how I will view the Watchers. Thank you for reading my essay.

A Ghostly Break

I wanted to write something wholesome between these two in Limited Life after the angst. I ended up getting stuck and wrote the angst one. Finally got around to finishing this. This is in the AU where this is all a fun game to them. I want to write the scene for Scar’s death in this AU as well just mainly to add the line of Grian saying “all’s fair in love and war.” Also because I want to make something less angsty for that scene.

This takes place just after Grian’s final death. I loved them doing this at the end of Grian’s episode, so I had to include it.

Grian hovers, still frozen from where he died. Falling to his death is something he never enjoys, for several reasons, but now it’s also coated in a layer of embarrassment. It wasn’t because of someone else. It wasn’t a conscious choice. He slipped. Grian buries his head in his hands and groans, he is so glad that Jimmy has already returned to Empires.

“Well hello there,” Scar says cheerily.

Grian jolts in surprise, looking over at the other ghost. “Now’s not really the time, Scar.”

Scar looks above them then meets Grian’s eyes again, “yeah, that looked like a hard fall.”

“It was just so stupid.”

“I don’t like seeing you fall,” Scar murmurs, barely audible. Grian doesn’t respond. After a few quiet minutes, Scar floats in front of him, a smile growing on his face. He raises his arms up and wiggles his fingers in Grian’s direction, “oooooo!”

Grian snorts, unable to help himself, they may be ghosts at the moment, but it’s temporary. He rolls his eyes as his only response.

Scar takes that as the challenge it’s not and circles around Grian, repeating himself. Grian laughs fully this time, letting himself joke around as well. He joins Scar in his dance? “OoooOooO!”

It may be ridiculous, but he needed just a moment to completely joke around here. Just a little moment before they focus back on the game. Grian wants to stick around til the end, feeling like he needs to as the one who made this, so just a amount in the middle to have fun in the middle is nice.

ended up trying tu summarise my frozen watcher au through stories on insta after i got asked in comments so i’m retyping everything here too. wanted to make a proper mega post one day but this’ll have to do

so Warmth of the Winter Sun (wows) or just Frozen Watcher, is a hermitcraft 8 au based on the boatem crew and hugely  inspired by both of the Frozen movies. Basically, I just wanted to play with the concept of watchers that is over used in the fandom, and made it a frozen au because of a skin made for halloween mcc last year (grian as elsa done by mahgck)

Grian is the “lucky” kid who got gifted a part of the watchers’ power and gained matter manipulation magic; he can manipulate any object and part of landscape and change its form at will. It goes as far as turning matter into another one and can have effect on the weather (mostly by summoning storm clouds) When the manipulation goes too far, the matter turns into something similar to minecraft sculk, some kind of nebula cloud, way easier to manipulate, but can also spread on its own and corrupt stuff.

Pearl is his little sister, and unfortunately, the accident is still a thing there haha. Living matter (other than plants) immediately corrupts under Grian’s magic, and Pearl got something she though was a burn scar on the side of her face.

I’m adding a twist tho, as the siblings acually got cursed through the accident; if they’re too close, Pearl’s injury would spread and threaten to suffocate her. If they’re too far, it’s Grian’s heart that can’t handle it. (Yeay i like angsty stuff like that). So they spent the rest of their childhood trying to keep a middle ground, apart from one another (Pearl not knowing why as you could guess).

For the following I need to settle more background lore I made for this. The siblings are the heirs of the Mountain kingdom, a part of a huge island they inhabit with several other kingdoms. These different factions were all at war for years, until “something” caused a massive explosion during an atempt between monarchs to set peace. They all died. Leaving the island in a cold war the time their orphaned heirs reach adulthood.

(The “something” and the war will be relevant for what would be “frozen2″ haha. The universe is also set in something like northern UK in the 50′s)

SO back to main plot, Grian doesn’t lose control as he becomes king. He had the role for a couple years actually. But he had organised a ball to set real peace across the island once and for all, despite his fear of his power being reveal. He failed, as you can guess, but he tried his best ! And you can imagine how the other monarchs reacted, thinking they had been tricked into a trap when Grian’s black magic reveal itself. So yeay, some background part of the au is the monarchs trying to dismantle the Mountain kingdom as Grian exiled itself somewhat.

The following goes mostly like in Frozen; Pearl sneaks off to find back her brother; finds out a plush she made as kid and gave to Grian, Mumbo, is now alive (and having massive existential crisis); and travels with a friend she met years prior while sneaking off the castle, Impulse, and Scar, a cat shapeshifter.

Grian morphed an entire mountain into his s7 mansion (no need to make the back /hj), and once the curse got him back with violent hearthache, he’s ready to give up just so the curse can finally break (the song monster from the musical be like)

A huge thing I changed is the whole thing about true love, as I didn’t want to have shipping in this au. Mostly, it’s just pearl, once she learns the curse “needs true love to fade away”, thinking she’s doomed for good as she doesn’t have anyone, and thinks her death would somehow be another way to break the curse. (Yeay both sibling are being suicidal at one point, ready to die so the other gets free of the curse)

I’m still indecive about how to make the end of this, as i want the aftermaths of the plot to be more obvious than canon Frozen. Don’t worry no one dies tho !! I still need them for part 2 okjihibuv

Part 2 of the au is for now very vague; all I know for sure is that it has a rather sad ending (I’m going full on “fix it” on that one, loved Frozen2 but the plot from deleted scene could have been epic haha). I will have stuff with the island war and shapeshifter lore, and I already made edits to the wonky spirits for the au. But other than that, that’s basically all!

Well, I went rambling quite a lot for just some summary... Hope i’ll have more drawing f this to post this year tho !

Hmmm how do they get out of the foundations hands. Well here’s a thought that’s angsty, Cub could be one of the personal that was assigned to Grian and Scar… however over time and many eggs that they take too soon, he feels guilt in his stomach from it all. So decided to try and get them out… he stages a Containment Breach

Cub knows the risks are punishable by death or worse being a D-Class himself. But frankly he’s come to see Scar as his friend. He’s long known his research wasn’t right… but he guessed it took him seeing that they’d do anything to young that had no reason to suffer.

Aww yeah.. Cub causes the alarm and just, gets them out during all the chaos of a breach

Canary in a Coal Mine- haha rancher duo, I love them, I'm not over the canary curse STILL being real after 4 seasons, wtf man

You and Me by Lifehouse- A nice song for the healthy relationship that is clock duo. Also it mentions clocks. (I specifically have the extended wedding song version lol)

Too Close by Sir Chloe- This one is desert duo and Ren and bigb, but I really think it's from Scar's POV "you get too close, take the one I love the most"

Burning Pile by Mother Mother- Boat boys. The ship burns everything burns. Yep.

No Children by The Mountain Goats- Listen to this in the context of double life and tell me it's not Scott and Pearl. "I hope I cut myself shaving tomorrow, I hope it bleeds all day long"

Limited Life (very unfinished):

Never Be Alone by Shadrow- I know, I know, but hear me out. This season feels very watcher-y and also brings back the boogeyman and just feels like everyone has to be on edge at all times.

Fighting With The Melody by Jimmy Urine- honestly idk I just brought this one over from my C!Grian playlist because it fit. "Welcome to your fate, end of the line" and "You are so dead, dancing with the enemy"

Hell's Comin' With Me by Poor Man's Poison- I have this down for TIES, but mostly Impulse since he made it to the end, idk

Problems by Mother Mother- The bad boys yeeeaaaaahhhhhh. "I am a sinner, you are a saint" among other lines.

I'm Gonna Win by Rob Cantor- This is Martyn's winner song, he legit went insane at the end there what can I say. "I'll never lose, I'll never die"

Ok. Let's try-

1.) You're making me choose? Really? *Sighs* Fine. Most likely Jimmy, since I watch him a LOT. But then, I also watch Grian too- And Scar is so funny in his videos... And Skizz brings so many great stories to the series! And Pearl has the best arcs in the series, plus Martyn being king of lore-

2.) Desert Duo. Need I say more than they have been here since the beginning of this series' time.

4.) Um. I don't know much about them except for the hints and clues I've managed to pick up from fans, but I love messing around with their roles in my fanon version of the Life Series/ HermitCraft/Empires.

5.) This is a question that I always flip flop between LimL and DL for, but for question matters rn, I'd say Limited Life. The story arcs were at their peak, the chaos levels were rising (The only out of context video to be higher than LimL's 19 minute one, was SL at a whopping 22!), and I feel almost every single persons death was cinematic or tragic in some way shape or form.

6.) I wouldn't. What would probably happen is that I would have only a half decent iron pic an hour into the session, and then some people would take pity on me and adopt me into their team. I would also be the new canary in a coal mine. (That's probably why all my friends say I'm jimmy.)

7.) Grian & Scar. While they had one of the more fractured relationships in the season, they managed to make the relationship fanfic angsty so that fans would enjoy it, whether that was intentional or not, and they probably had one of the best stories in double life, and I found it so entertaining watching both their POV's in that series.

8.) Oh gosh. The only death to ever make me truly cry on its own cannon appearance. And it's hard to make me cry. Skizz's final Limited Life death. The way that Skizz handles his situation compared to how his friends react is absolutely heartbreaking. Especially how emphasized this scene was in Lemobread's animatic "Untied" (Let's pray I got that channel name right)

9.) If by this question you mean theories, then I will say there have been multiple things that have made me go, "OH MY GOD. THAT WAS GOOD." The best one that I can name off of the top of my head right now, is the theory that the watchers have killed Jimmy first in every season (except SL) and I'll be honest, I have not worked with this theory as much as I have worked with others, but it's still the best theory that absolutely blew up my mind.

10.) Uh. So, IM IN THE FUTURE~ So, I've known the winner is Scar since last month. But, i will answer the question of who do you want to win in the next season (if there is one) and I will go with the unpopular opinion of not saying Joel, and instead saying Impulse! The only reason that I want this to happen, is the fact that Impulse plays his card right when editing his videos and making stories for the life series, so I would have to think if he won, it would make for the greatest story arc in Life history.

11.) To be honest, I honestly don't think the life series need anybody else. I do remember seeing something somewhere saying that sausage should join, and, to be fair, I think he would add onto the series nicely. Although, in all honesty, 18 characters is enough for me to work with.

12.) I don't intend this to be the way it is, and as I remember someone quoting from Martyn once, "Everyone has their own story to tell." I do just think that BigB gets pushed to the side in my mind because I don't find him involved in many storylines through the series. Sure, he had secret soulmates with Grian, but on the main plot train, he gets pushed back to the caboose. I do think this is mostly because A: He's not involved in any ships (At least ones that i ship) B: He really builds no plot in his videos (From what I've seen) C: he's only truly known for cookies, Betraying Cleo, secret soulmates, and him going absolute gaslight mode. So, in the end, Bigb is this character that I don't truly care for, but its not because he's boring or mean, in fact, sometimes he'll say the most ridiculous thing and III spit soda out my 3 nostrils (ha ha, box boys, haha... ha...) its just the fact that he's on the edge of my main lore train.

13.) Ohhhhh I see! You want me to type out all my lore! No- haha I'll spare people that after reading that ridiculously long paragraph about why I don't focus on BigB in my lore. But, yes, I do see these universes as connected, in fact, since this universe that I've fannonized had been sitting in my brainrot stew for about 2 years, I've gone as far to even say that HC 1-8, ESMP 1, and 3rd & Last Life are all in one universe, until Grian looses all his friends, whether its by magic rune blade, or his boyfriend dissolving into the void, then he decides to restart the world, in which all his friends are back, but are reborn, they relearn, they reform friendships, without their memories. But, by the time Grian discovers his past self, its about the time of when they were first all in 3rd life together, so he feels as though its his one job in his new world to get it right this time, and keep all his friends safe from the watchers, and from heartbreak and tragedy.

14.) Grian basically structures the life series like the hunger games in my fannon. He tweaked a few respawn chips that he borrowed from hermitcraft (Respawn chips is basically my way of getting around Minecraft's respawning system), and set them to three lives, eventually adding more mechanisms to them as the series continued. But, when players die, they basically end up in this "lobby" where they can either stay in the white box that is the lobby, or go on and spectate the world as a ghost.

15.) Like I said earlier, Jimmy. Ever since I wanted to watch his POV in empires, I've adored his editing style and just his story and plot, and I've stuck with him since.

I haven't decided entirely honestly (I'm bad at endings) but here's generally what I'm thinking,, Cleo is the first person to point the finger at Ren. Etho confirms to Grian and Scar that she was good after her execution. Grian checks Ren and Scar and learns that one of them is the demon. Grian trusts Scar so they execute Ren. Martyn can't get himself to vote on Ren's execution so they learn that he's evil as well.

Ik you didn't ask but for extra angst, I like the idea of Scar slowly losing trust in Grian because he claimed Scott was the demon and was wrong, and he votes on Cleo's death as well, and is wrong again. Scar turns on Grian and uses his slayer shot on him. It injures him but to Scar's surprise doesn't kill him, proving Grian's innocence.

Alternatively, and less angsty, Scar is the one to kill Ren using his slayer shot, sticking to the narrative of 3rd Life where Scar is the one to kill Ren.

My first thought for Grian was a device that would pluck out each of his feathers and break the bones of his wings until they’re completely misshapen- or maybe have him put in a machine that constantly requires him to fly until he passes out from exhaustion?

Or if you wanna get angsty with it; maybe Scar gets “revenge” on him for killing him in 3rd life by having Grian placed in a boxing ring where he has to constantly fight androids without break; and when he eventually gets tired enough, he has no other option than to be beaten to death??

Life SMP Simulated: Session 6!

This is the penultimate session, so shits about to go down….

We start off hot with Cleo permadying! That’s gonna hit Pearl hard… Cleo finishes in 12th. Grian, Ren, Bdubs then also proceed to die one after another! Bdubs kills Grian in what was probably the latter pissing the former off somehow, Ren dies bc of a failed defused trap (third life flashbacks…) and Bdubs gets karma for kills Grian by falling into a ravine right after! But of a mundane way to end the Ethubs drama, but I suppose you can’t top the climax last session. In any case, Grian ends in 11th and Bdubs in 10th.

Also 3/4 of these immediate deaths were PERMANENT! If this was real that would make for a short video…

Moving on, Cleo’s permadeath does seem to Pearl quite hard, as she goes on a murderous rampage! Ren and Joel both fall victim to this. And ig Skizz dies to a creeper sometime around then.

People continue dropping like flies in quick succession! A newly-turned red in Ren kills Scar and then Skizz, and Tango and Etho both permadie of non-player stuff. Tango goes in 9th, Etho 8th.

THE IMPORTANT THING HERE THO. If you remember last session, there was some drama and infighting within Team MIST (Martyn/Impulse/Skizz/Tango) after Impulse went red (go read session 5’s commentary for more details), and here he enacts his revenge, taking ALL THREE OF MARTYN’S REMAINING LIVES! Impulse went crazy bloodthirsty for revenge here! He didn’t get to Tango in time (tho he did take one of Tango’s lives last session), and my personal take is Impulse was so close to Skizz he couldn’t bear to kill him. The fucking angst I tell you… Skizz watching Impulse take down his original alliance one by one only to not have the heart to kill Skizz… askskskdjddjdjcjffk

Uhm right I got distracted by the angst and skipped a bit ahead there. Remember Ren killing Scar? Yeah that had consequences. Scar kills Pearl first for… reasons ig before enacting his own revenge on Ren.

Pearl takes 7th, Ren 6th, and Martyn 5th.

As a side note, remember the Ren/Martyn and Scar/Impulse alliance parallel from two sessions ago I think it was? Both were people without alliances asking to ally a MIST member, one of the major alliances of the season. The difference is though, Ren seems to have just been desperate; Scar was playing opportunistic (highlighted by him allying rapidly allying Bdubs and then Skizz the last session when Impulse and then Bdubs went red). Ren was just banking on that alliance getting him through, and when he went red, nothing was solid and he fell apart. Scar has these little moments of trading and helping Impulse here and there, and that Probsbly helps him after everyone went red like in this session.

(Minor-er thing but Scar and Impulse also have a parallel to each other this ep! Both deliver revenge, but Scar does it immediately with his opportunistic seizing-the-moment gameplay, and Impulse stews on it for a session or so and lets the angstiness sink in first.)

And that leaves us with our final four! We have…

IMPULSE! One of the major characters of the lategame, with his incredible arc about the rise and fall of team MIST. But is he the protagonist? Or just another obstacle for someone else to take down?

JOEL! He had to deal with his two allies being an absolute trainwreck this session, and while they stole the spotlight, sometimes hiding in the shadows will nab you the win. Will he break into the spotlight at the last moment?

SCAR! As I said before, his gameplay is incredibly opportunistic, and it served him well, with alliances with two other members going into this finale. But opportunity doesn’t always knock at the right time, and the alliances he has could be superficial. Is Scar’s gameplay effective enough for him to take the crown?

SKIZZ! Our second member of team MIST here AND our second members with two other allies in this final four! He’s may have survived the MIST drama because of his close bond with Impulse, but with four people left, can he still fall back on those relationships to survive?

Throwing in my two pence here. This might get a little extensive and confusing, since I'm not great with words, so bear with me and trust me, ok?

First pence goes to this. Small thing on this being a non scripted series, yes, this is very true. None of the "curses" and stuff are planned, any references are usualy just thrown in for fun because the creators love watching us make our own stories and art, and Martyns lore is mostly his own AU that isn't connected to the main series.

But fandoms love making their own interpretations of stories, like Martyn does. It's why I have no problem with the "blessings and curses" of each participant. It's just the fan interpretations of funny coincidencs. The AUs we make. The fan content, artwork and stories, we make with the sturdy base of the life series. Jimmy and Martyn love reacting to fan made content, angsty or silly. They are loving it for the craft that it is! But they aren't canon, and never will be. Both sides know this. Scott's blessing won't always work, Grians widow curse won't always happen, and Jimmy's canary curse won't always play out quite the same as others expect it to do. Speaking of...

Time for that second penny. My interpretation of the Canary curse.

To me, the canary curse was NEVER about Jimmy being out first. It was NEVER about how he is bad at minecraft. It was NEVER about his permadeath being the the first one every time.

It was always about the chaos that came afterwards.

He wasn't cursed to die first, he was just the catalyst of disaster. When players would start to die left, right and center. It was a moment in every series where the red names would stack up and start to kill more and more, because now that a player had fallen, a sense of desperation falls across everyone. Dying first 4 times was just an unfortunate coincidence.

Jimmy is not awful at the game, he has some good skills. We can talk about that in a bit though.

The Canary in the coalmine might sometimes die to warn the coal miners of the poisons, but their silence without death speaks the exact same message.

Jimmy isn't cursed to die. Jimmy is blessed with a warning to everyone else that the end ic coming and discord wii be upon them soon.

And that warning is just his silence, through life and death.

He does not need to die for the Canary curse to come calling. Not to him. But to everyone.

Chucking in one extra penny, I would like to say that I very much think he can win. Genuinly, not having a laugh, not mocking it, and i'm not listening to anyone else. Session 3 gave me a scare, and i started doubting it, but i told myself (and Jimmy in chat) that i believe, and I was right to. Session 4 was amazing for him.

Jimmy is not bad at the game by any means. He can just be very unlucky. Events don't always line up for him so he ends up looking more incompetent than he is.

But when they do, well, just look at his 1v3 in dodgebolt and how he won the tournament for the crown in empires season 1, and remember how he spent the majority of Last life on YELLOW. And even episode 4 of wild life with how well he did in that session. I'm not saying he's the greatest minecraft player of all time because he does have his moments of lacking braincells like we all get, but he has got some skills. He just likes to mess about a bit to make things a little more entertaining for his viewers, he plays with his viewers in mind, but when he locks in, he very much locks in. And I love it.

I do still think he can win a life series. If not this one, maybe another one in the future. But I think he can do it. And if only one person in this universe believes that, then I am that one person.

Right, sorry if anything came off rude, im not the best at phrasing stuff so i might of misworded somethings here and there by accident. Again sorry if i did. I'm not here to change opinions, just to share my own. I'll leave now.

cries because everybody in this fandom sees the thought of Jimmy winning as a laughable impossibility and even people who say they're rooting for him only mean it as a joke and whenever you mention that he's doing good people have to let you know that it won't last long and inevitably he will die first because of some stupid self-fulfilling prophecy that got turned into my least favorite fanon ever. why can't he just be like a player who has a chance just like everyone else does. have you stopped to consider WHY he dies first so often? it's not a curse. this isn't a scripted series. it's because he's incredibly pacifistic and because people generally don't want to help him because they consider him a weak player. both of these things have been done away with this season, he has a taste for blood and an ally who is both incredibly underrated in his strength and has said he would never betray him. jimmy has as much a chance as anyone else.
