Black Phone AU-The Final Step

We time skip forward to the children’s fifth day in captivity. The changes are becoming worse and all the kids find something.

Greg could barely move his body anymore. Everything felt so heavy and stiff. It looked like dust came from him every time he moved. Ben was getting more feral by the day, his teeth were so much sharper, and they could barely keep the scales under his eyes and around his neck wet enough with the water they got from their captors. Myron was coughing constantly due to the smoke mixing with his asthma and he felt so warm, him and Charlie were practically attached at the hip. Charlie was freezing cold and the shadows were all around her now. Delilah’s horns had finally broken through but that didn’t mean the pain was over as they continued to try and grow.

The states offered what comfort they could over the phone. Delilah was actually currently on the phone with Texas. But it was never enough; it could never be enough.

Greg sat in the corner by the bathroom door trying to keep his limbs straight, as Ben paced. Myron and Charlie were curled up on the bed. He was so tired and just done in a way he had never felt before.

Suddenly he realized there was something underneath him. He just managed to twist enough to grab it and see what it was. It was a Bills beanie. He half choked out a laugh before he started to sob. He missed home so much. He heard the others start crying too. He knew they had found their items.

He put on the beanie.

New York opened his eyes.

Black Phone AU: The First Call

After seeing something they shouldn’t, Greg and his new friends are taken away to an odd room with a strange phone.

Greg slowly blinked his eyes open. Charlie was lying down next to him still asleep. He glanced around the room and saw Ben pacing with Delilah sitting up in the corner. Myron was still asleep too and was on the only bed.

“What happened?” He asked looking at the room. There was a singular twin size bed with a metal frame and a dirty mattress, a small window near the ceiling covered in bars, there was an open door opposite the wall the bed was against that led to an absolutely filthy bathroom, and a busted nightstand next to the bed with a phone on it.

But the phone was weird. He only knew it was a phone because he’d seen a picture of a phone like this in his history textbook. But this one looked beat to hell. Like someone had swung it into a wall repeatedly, there was no way it worked.

“We woke up here a few minutes ago; it wore off on me and Ben at about the same time” Delilah said from her corner. Ben was grinning like a maniac and Greg knew that the next person to enter this room was getting tackled by a crazy Floridian.

Suddenly a sound filled the small cell. The sound of a ringing phone. Greg’s eyes were drawn to the bedside table even though he knew it was impossible for that phone to be ringing. But the phone is shaking. He hears a groan from either side of him as the noise wakes up Charlie and Myron.

“What happened” Myron groaned as he slowly sat up.

“We got caught is what happened” Charlie responded even drugged she was the smartest one in the room. “They saw us after all”.

All of them remembered what had happened. They had been down by the river, much further into the woods then they should’ve been. Boys and girls weren’t allowed to mingle at this camp unless they happened to be doing a camp activity together but already their group felt like they’d known each other forever.

They heard muffled shouting and Ben and Charlie had insisted they check it out. They saw men with guns running through the woods, searching for something based on their shouts. The kids soon found out that something was a person.

A man in a torn suit with a partially undone red tie. His hair was dark and messy. He kinda looked like a grown up version of Greg and Ben who people already joked were twins.

The kids ran. They weren’t exactly trying to stay quiet, they just knew they needed to get away. In the end, Greg supposed, that’s what doomed them.

They all snapped back to reality as the phone continued to ring. Greg looked at it warily, there was no way that phone should work and yet it was ringing, he didn’t trust it.

“Is anyone gonna grab that?” Ben asked still looking a bit manic.

There was a pause; nobody spoke for a long moment. Then Ben shrugged, walked over to the phone, and picked it up. Immediately everyone got up and surrounded Ben. Whether to protect him, or to able to hear the phone, or perhaps both even they didn’t know.

Static. There was mostly static coming out the phone, like the connection was bad. Well with a phone in that bad of shape it would make sense.

Only 4 words ended up being comprehensible. Government, Volkergeists, and Save Us.
