The sound of large wings flapping overhead accompanied the footsteps of retreating clowns, this was the highest Chou was ever able to fly,,,he was so close to her, yet soon he felt gravity take hold and pain sear through his ripped wing, quickly he flittered to the top of a tent, any tent he could get to (@ask-morioh-duo)

If any clown noticed him, they didn't seem to care much. The circus is being disassembled as fast as the swarm of clowns can muster. A barrel fire burns Night Fright posters as quickly as the swarm can collect them. Milenko goes go a bloody patch of grass and retrieves a whip. He looks slightly regretful - not of Daisy's death, but of not reeling her in before she broke his rules.

Well now Eijiro knew he was dying because it looked like there was a circus set up on the horizon, and that couldn't be right....

There was a knock on the door to the ringmaster's car. [ask-a-guard-dog]

"Ah, little one - you've come back to us." He says with a smile as he removes a hand from his coat pocket. "I was afraid something had happened - it seems the little grey fellow that came around before was not the most reliable of sources."

“Now now - he’s a child and was met with a rather frightening thing: wouldn’t you swear on seeing something like that? Or were you just, how do the kids say? Ah, yes - Built Different?”

A much younger clown, about maybe in her early 20s, turned around from her primping, "Shit... That brat bring any cops around?" (( @bd-wireroses ))

Eijiro was trying his best to hide his nerves as he sat in the unfamiliar train car. There hadn't been much of a discussion of what he was doing here past, "the ringmaster wanted to talk to you." [ask-a-guard-dog]

"My boy," he starts. "You sit in a precarious position. As a chimera, it's unsafe to leave you unchecked. However, as a child, robbing you of that freedom for the safety of everyone would sit poorly with me. So, no matter how much Daisy protests to this, I am giving you that choice."

Milenko turns in his chair.

"Would you like to join our show, little runaway?"

"Oh shit, someone else who dislikes cops and the mafia around here?? And he's a cool old man???"

Milenko stands in the middle of a large tent, arms outstretched.

"It is with great pride that I welcome you to...THE VAGABOND CIRCUS!"

He pounds his cane down, setting off a smoke pellet. When the smoke clears, a small swarm of the masked clowns are posed where he once stood before they begin their rambunctious antics in the ring.

Milenko smiles as the show goes on and he hears the laughter of children. He leans against one of the train cars, the door opened to air out. Inside the car is a tarp covered thing...the stick of a corn dog slides out from under it, and Milenko sighs.

"You know how these upset your stomach. We can't have you bloated for your public debut tonight."

Whatever is in tarp says nothing, but slides out a few more corndogs with a sad whine.

The Fright Night begins...

The crowd watches various death defying stunts from the adept clowns and brawny jesters, but that is not the main event. A jester on stilts stands in the middle of the ring wearing the garb of a bailiff. ”Tonight’s judgement - Former US Lieutenant James Striker.” They boom through the mask as a half conscious man in wheeled in on a table by Melinko, who has now painted his face. The ringmaster reads his charges - loud and clear. “Domestic abuse, assault on multiple counts, indecent exposure, vehicular manslaughter & assault of a noncombatant on multiple counts.”

The man is starting to wake and realize where he is. He struggles in his bonds and tries to scream but finds that his mouth has been numbed. A jester dressed as a newsboy enters. “EXTRA EXTRA! NEW CHARGES! NEW CHARGES! In a recent investigation, we also have found...GRAPHIC CONTENT OF CHILDREN ON HIS PERSONAL COMPUTERS!” The crowd boos and Melinko speaks up. “We have JUST the punishment for this worm! Ladies and gentlemen - give a Fright Night Applause to the newest member of the court...THE JUDGEMENT BEAST!”

The cage is wheeled in and opened, Circus Monster approaching hesitantly as the bound man screams hard enough he could have swallowed his tongue...but Circus doesn’t press on until a whip is sounded.

The crowd thinks it an elaborate act from their seats - too far from the pit to see the reality that this was not a man in a costume tearing apart a manikin. Circus Monster roars as it pulls the man limb from limb, throwing the pieces across the dirt and even biting chunks out of him...

Circus Monster has passed his initiation with flying colors Not that he will remember it - the monster’s mind goes blank at the call of the whip Blanker than it usually is, anyway.

"Rest up now, Circus Monster - you've earned it for the splendid show you've put on."

The remains of the lieutenant are put inside the cage.

"Now that you've proven you've a hold of yourself, we can go about preparing you a proper quarters. Won't that be delightful?"

"Y...es."

"Attaboy."

Milenko exits and his expression sours. Seriously, where IS that slippery thing...

Milenko turns over the report from one of his Clowns Around Town on the possible mark for Night of Fright. She was a most intriguing target, but a background check seemed to put them on similar grounds.

One Riku Hayabusa - Real name: Luisa Sandler. Birthplace: New Mexico, USA. Found on the scene of 4 different bloody messes in motels across multiple countries. After being tailed by his man, they noticed that she seems to only target men who lace her drinks. They also couldn't get a good look at her work, but they certainly heard it...

Milenko puts the report into the shredder. Seems Circus will need to wait.

The man says nothing as he gets up and looks out of a window on his train car - what could be happening out there?

Ah, sure you make kids and their parents feel better about one less creep in the world, but a cage? Whips? That beast still has a heart. He doesn't deserve that treatment. What is wrong with you?

"Do you know how DANGEROUS a chimera can be? How quickly it could tear every man woman and child in this town to shreds? How much STRONGER it is than the sum of it's parts!? It's lucky I haven't used-"

He stops himself and takes a deep breath.

"Take your grievances up with Daisy. We're done here."
