embark on a gaming journey like never before! charge your switch from dead for the first time since you got it in 2018! spend 30+ hours on it in 3 weeks and wonder what the hell your life has come to! (and spend 6+ hours on the tutorial stage because Great Sky Island is not very Great!)

so spend $70 to play a game that will consume your whole life today! legend of zelda: tears of the player out now.

Let's see how many different ways I can get myself killed in Tears of the Kingdom (in no particular order)!

This is just the list I have so far:

Falling off a Sky Island… which may have happened more than once….

Soldier constructs

Captain constructs (because those guys are on a whole nother level)

Drowning- yup, still a thing

Freezing in cold water is also still a thing

Get sucked to death by a Like Like

Falling into The Depths

Electric wizzrobe, need I say more?

Striking a bomb flower (I coulda sworn those things used to blink for a few seconds before going off!!!)

Frox (srsly, what the frox is that thing?!?)

Attempt to execute a graceful dive off a Wing into a lake, only to hit the very edge of a rooftop….

Flux Construct… fluxing.

Dive off a cliff into a pool of water and find out it was just a puddle in the grass.

Misfire a bomb flower arrow.

Land in the midst of 5 blue bokos with only 4 hearts.

i took botw for granted only two hours into totk and ive exhausted my brain energy honestly fuck the sky islands and their puzzles so much nintendo didnt need to do that for an early game limitation im at my wits end take me back to the ground please (tutorials/walkthroughs my beloved) the graphics/scenery/wildlife and everything else are wonderfully done but my gawd

LoZ: TotK - Divided Sky Ruins

You know what would've been interesting?

Anyone whose a fan of One Piece might remember the Jaya arc. Remember Cricket's house?

Wouldn't it be cool to be able to find something like that in Hyrule? Not as anything worth bringing attention to from a gameplay perspective. But more so as just something kinda cool for eagle-eyed gamers to piece together on their own. As environmental storytelling.

Just, come across a Zonai ruin on the Surface that seems to be only half there. Then you find another Zonai ruin on a sky island above the Surface ruin & they fit together perfectly.

Of course, seeing as it has been 10,000 years, it wouldn't make any real sense, but still. This is a fantasy game with magic. Yeah, I'm not a fan of hand-waving things with "a wizard did it," but things that aren't as readily obvious like this, I can let slide a little bit.

At the same time, the buildings on the islands themselves, while much reduced, still had their basic foundations in tact. Though that could be explained away as the islands having been above the clouds & thus not subject to storms.

Actually, now that I think about it... It honestly doesn't make much sense that the buildings on the Sky Islands are in ruins. I mean, the whole point of the Constructs is to work & even Rauru makes mention of the fact that they continued to do their jobs long after the Zonai's absence. Like, did the Zonai just not have Maintenance or Construction Constructs or something? Did the Zonai just do those things themselves?

I kinda wish we could see what the buildings would've looked like fully in tact. Also, a full map of Hyrule from back then.

Another thing I noticed was that when you compare the Sky Islands to the ground, there don't seem to be any obvious evidence of them having been there to begin with. Then again, that's easily explained away by the fact that, again, it's been 10,000 years.

Edit: This completely flew past me!

This is apparently what Hyrule looked like in Rauru's time!

At least, based on the map in the Forgotten Temple! I'm still missing some things, but overall, it's accurate.
