The Greaser Au!

long, long, long rambles below! (Beware!)

Wally! I'll start with Wally!

As you can imagine, Wally is the little leader of the group! Promptly dubbed after his last name, "The Darlings"! (how darling they are indeed!)

Wally had grown a fascination with the trend, though he didn't quite understand the need to act so tough and mean, so he decided to make his own group! (with the help of Barnaby!)

Motorcycles, catchy tunes, being free on the road is something everyone should enjoy! So who cares if you're big or small, or if you like the color pink? Anyone can be a greaser as long as they got a jacket and a bike to go along with it!

At least, that what he believes anyway!

Speaking of a certain beagle...

Barnaby!

Barnaby of course wanted to join in on the fun, and he very publicly advertised Wally's gang at his little comedy nights! (It did catch a certain blonde's attention!)

it did garner attention, with the way the beagle so affectionately told of Wally's endearingly comedic actions from their day to day life. Barnaby also helped Wally organize the entire set up, helping him get paint and base jackets for the painter to personalize! (He also suggested Poppy's diner as a hangout spot! He had it all thought out!)

Plus, it made his best friend happy! Who could ask for more? Well... maybe Barnaby would ask for a hotdog or two.

Julie!

Julie is a seasoned hair stylist! She owns her own hair salon! She's excellent at her job, however more often than not she gets a unpleasant customer.

Stress can pile up unfortunately, and when she attended a comedy show one evening she couldn't help but be ecstatic at such an idea of being free on the road. It felt like the perfect destresser!

Talking on the phone with Frank was great and all, but nothing compares to feeling the rush of wind in her hair... So she jumped at such an opportunity! And of course, Julie doesn't go anywhere without a certain frowny bookworm!

Frank!

Frank is an entomologist! (and a part-time librarian during the summertime!) A dream job really, but every dream comes with its hurdles! Similar to Julie, Frank found themself stressed. Usually books were able to decompress them, but lately they've been growing frustrated, the one thing they hate the most is incompetent writing!

It took a lot of convincing to get Frank to even consider the idea of being a greaser, let alone get on a motorcycle... but Julie can be very insistent when she wishes to be! Not even a week passed before they begged Julie to stop her nagging, but in exchange they had to at least go with her once on a motorcycle...

how mortifying.

However! the thrill of being on the open road at a high speed was something they never knew they needed! Needless to say, after that, they were hooked!

Sally!

Sally was the last member to join! and she took her spot quite quickly!

Sally had been in Poppy's diner when she saw The Darling's walk in, she was in awe! Colorful motorcycles? Matching jackets? They all looked marvelous! The star couldn't help herself when she walked up to them, simply starstruck at such a group!

They all looked to be having such fun... she wanted to take part!

When Sally asked if there was a spot left for her, Wally softly smiled at her and stated, "Anyone and everyone can join!"

She was content that day, and from then on, it really was the best group of friends she could ever ask for!

im quite happy how everything turned out! I think i'll use this as a master post of sorts, just so you don't have to dig through my stuff just to find anything specific!

- HotRod’s speech is usually normal, but often slips with the same lingo as her dad and father, especially during higher emotions

- Usually carries a bag of lollipops with her to share

- Snaps her father’s cigarettes in half when he’s not looking [anti-smoker like her dad]

- unironically says “You’re one cool cat!” & “What’s up cool cats”

- Greaser took her to get her tongues pierced the exact moment she was interested

- Steals her father’s hair gel

- finds it amusing when people automatically assume she’s a guy

if enough folks do, I’ll draw them together or something lol, it’ll be fun!

So these are blatant self inserts for my sister and me

(Info & backstories under the cut because I’ve put waaaay too much thought into this)

and again, pls do reblog/tag me w/ your own Outsiders original/self insert characters! (Drawings and/or written descriptions!) Making OCs was one of my favorite things to do as a kid, so I figured it’d be fun to bring it back here lol

(And to reiterate- if enough of ya’ll do this I’ll draw ‘em all together like a greaser-sona gang! So don’t be shy ok??)

-got sent to Tulsa from Seattle in 1961 at ages 13 and 11 to live with their mildly neglectful uncle, due to their mother getting cancer and being unable to properly care for them. Their father was lost at sea when they were little, so they had no one else to go to.

-in Tulsa they go by their mother’s surname, Biondi, instead of their father’s, because interracial marriage isn’t legalized in Oklahoma until ‘67. They try to pass as just Italian. This works better for Naomi, who takes more after their mother than their father in looks.

-Naomi is good friends w/ Ponyboy- she relates to him a lot, from the dislike of fighting to the love for sunsets (legit Ponyboy reminds me of my sister so much irl) (She’s also low-key got a crush on him and Sodapop which is pretty funny)

-Jesse is closer to Two-Bit, Dally, Steve, and Soda. And he really likes fights. They’re exciting and make him feel tough. When he stops to think about it it does make him a little uneasy how much he’s grown to like them, but usually he just ignores that

-Naomi disapproves of crime. Jesse used to oppose it too, but the more time he spends without good role models and parental figures, the more his morels loosen. Tries hard to be a good example for Naomi though

-Jesse met the gang through Sodapop originally- they were thirteen and some Socs were jumping Soda, and Jesse jumped in and helped him out. Soda explained to him what the deal with Socs and greasers is, because there’s no greasers up North

-Naomi met the gang separately through being classmates with Ponyboy. They were working together on a school project, one with him writing and her drawing

-So Jess and Naomi spent a solid few months hanging out with different members of the same gang, completely unaware they had the same group. They eventually end up running into each other at the Curtis house, and both are totally shocked. Two-Bit, who knew the whole time, nearly died laughing

-Naomi is friends with both Socs and greasers, because she isn’t really either- she’s financially a greaser, but she has a crazy high GPA for someone who has ADHD and dyslexia in the 60s, and besides that, she just doesn’t like what she sees as pointless rivalry

-Jess loves pointless rivalry. At least until people start getting hurt. Then he starts to get angry.

Okay, I promised myself not to create a male greaser oc, but the idea suddenly came to mind and I couldn’t sit still, so, meet Matteo Vanzetti ✨

Matteo is newbie in Bullworth. He is a cheerful and quite active teenager. He knew some of the greasers before, and therefore he was offered to join them, but at first he did not particularly want to become part of any clique, considering it pointless. But later he changed his mind and became part of greasers’ “family”. He has a close relationship with Vance, they are best friends. Matteo sincerely admires Johnny and wants to be just like him (“If you asked me who my idol is, I would immediately answer - Johnny Vincent!”).

unlike other greasers, he is not hostile towards preps, but rather has a soft spot for them, especially for Gord, Oliver and even Bif (Matteo secretly admires him as much as he admires Johnny).

but the lack of hostility towards the preps doesn't stop Matteo from playing pranks on the preps in response to their hostility towards his grease friends. in retaliation for the preps nearly setting Vance's hair on fire, Matteo attempted to set Derby's hair on fire. after that, Bif gave him a good beating 🤭

he has a fairly friendly relationship with Kirby (maybe he has some feelings for him).

Matteo has some feud with the bullies, especially Trent (due to jealousy of Kirby).

friendly with nerds and often defends them from bullying (in gratitude for this, they help him with his homework).

big music lover. mostly listens to 50’s music and Michael Jackson. he’s also pretty good at drawing and loves gym class (if he weren't a greaser, he'd definitely be a jock)

has a bad relationship with his parents, mainly due to his disobedient nature and hyperactivity. it was as punishment for this that he was sent to Bullworth Academy. often he spends the night either with other greasers or in the boy’s dorm, just to avoid returning home

due to naughty harmonies, he can sometimes be a pervert. he reads adult magazines that he borrows from Ricky. for a while he even stole women's panties (this stopped when Mandy caught him doing it and punched him in the face)

loves kisses. doesn’t mind kissing different boys, often flirts with them (he doesn’t have much luck with girls)

Idk why but I wanted to draw Matteo and Kirby kissing (they are friends, but I ship them a little bit 😈).

My Bully OC - Colt De Luca

In-game appearance ^

As you can probably guess by his last name, Colt is the younger brother of Lucky De Luca.

I recently rewatched The Outsiders and couldn't help but feel inspired to create an OC based off of Ponyboy. Since Lucky bears such a striking resemblence to Darry in terms of personality I made Colt Lucky's brother.

Some facts about Colt:

"Little brother" of the Greasers (hates the title and their over-protectiveness)

Sensitive, doesn't like fighting but definitely won't back down from it if the can't talk his way out of trouble

Hero complex with no sense of self-preservation, would lose a limb for a stranger

Artistically gifted, loves painting even if it makes him look nerdy

Best friends with Lefty since childhood

Great friends with Parker and almost considered a friend by Bif (whom he admires) unbeknownst to his own clique. Doesn't want to be seen as a traitor but hates the rivalry between the Preps and the Greasers

Despises the Jocks
