do you think when she offered max the bike and supplies to cross the salt with them, she was thinking about asking jack to leave with her? when max caught up with them and suggested they retake the citadel (together), do you think she was remembering jack walking back over that hill towards her and offering to help her prepare to leave the citadel and actually make it home? as she trusted this man, this strange man that doesn't really speak it but already understands her, to get them all home do you think she was imagining the moment she decided to trust jack to do the same?

as she watched max walk away, do you think she saw jack's ghost smiling back at her in approval?

#hello i am literally going insane how is everyone else doing?#i am in a very fragile emotional state at the moment please check back in 3-5 business days #i am an enjoyer of both ships and somehow one just makes me feel more feral about the other in an endless cycle #i think she sees a lot jack in max but i think she also sees a lot of herself as well and a lot of the guilt she holds on to over jack #i think trusting him and being able to retake the citadel and take the wives “home” together healed a little something in her #am i fucking rambling? does any of this make any sense?#i genuinely cant tell #anyway i think her bond with jack influenced how she trusted max but i also think they form their own bond and she doesnt just #see him as a ghost of the man she loved and lost #i think he is more a symbol of her memory of jack and what they were moving towards and never reached and being able to #grasp that idea of home of a new green place and redemption with max helped her put that guilt to rest a little bit #max is an ending and also a beginning for her i think #i truly dont even know what im saying tbh #im just rambling in the tags
